Never, but I do use the excuse "I'm nobility" a lot to excuse shit.
Anyone seen Forrest? A post about him being gone from dsp made me think, and the avowed hasn't been updated for like a week. I expect we will get the stuff we voted on in the patreon by the end of the month, but really, where'd he go?
>>50240760
Fuck you OP.
Hey guys, OP's question sucks! Because of this, I'd like to ask you a better question; what was the noblest character you've ever made, either through birth or marriage?
Ok the Wyvern Rider is a 4 level spell caster who prepares using his Wyvern.
What kind of spells would you with for as a Cavalier? Because I'm making my own spell list like some kind of asshat.
Margaret Andosana
Class: Hunter| Fighter Unchained
Weapon of Choice: Bastard Sword + buckler + Jotun (Her dog [St. Bernard])
Profession: Veterinarian and Dog Breeder. Shalelu's Apprentice.
Likes: Chocolate, Large dogs, Honey, Terriers, Caramel, Sporting dogs, Bubble baths, Toffee, Massages, Toy dogs, and Chocolate
Dislikes: Goblins, Sweat, Exercise, Vegetables, Gruel, Bread, Tailors, Dentists, and Goblins
Little Margaret was barely a year old when the small merchant caravan her parents was overrun by goblins, She would have been dinner had Shalelu Andosana not come to her rescue.
As the only surviving person there, and with no kin to deliver her to. Shalelu decided to raise Margaret.
She spent her youth stalking the wilds and learning from her mentor and mother-figure. She became a capable huntress and fighter in her own right. When she came of age, she started working as a veterinarian and also began breeding dogs.
When questioned, She fervently denies that she has a sweet tooth. She then asserts that she has 32 sweet teeth.

I went out on Saturday with some work-friends because our game that night was cancelled, and then I nursed my hangover all of Sunday because I didn't have a game then too. I've long-since recovered, and am currently shitposting with you dorks because I don't have a game tonight either.End me.

The character I"m mostly recently working on probably doesn't wear lolita dresses at all; she's an elf getting on into middle age who's a winter witch representing the more positive aspects of cold and the winter months; that it's a time of rest and healing, where the fields lay fallow that the bodies that might, where cool breezes soothe deep wounds; where the fall of night brings not danger and worry but a lively fire and a warm drink and a family worth living alongside; not fearing the cold but respecting it, for winter is a time to prepare for the rebirth of spring, and from cold comes warmth and life anew.
She'll wear fancy dresses on occasion, I suppose, but it wouldn't be her preference; good warm furs, a warm hooded cloak, strong boots and gloves or mittens, all very practical, that is her usual dress, as much as to make people feel more at-ease around her than because she needs protection from the cold--after all, when was the last time a white-haired, cold-eyed woman with ice pale skin brought *good* tidings, especially with a raven perched on her shoulder?

I kind of got pressured into DMing an RPG Session next Sunday and choose Pathfinder for it because it seemed like the best system for us.

Ultimate intrigue has rules for heists and what not. It is an interesting read if a bit clunky (like most PF secondary systems). It does give some nifty pointers though on how to handle the different parts. Most of it seems common sense though.

You also need Elemental Flux to become LIGHTNING, THE RAIN TRANSFORMED.
>>50241984
Keep in mind, every character, including evil ones, have things they value. Maybe your character has family there that arranged for his job. Maybe he does this to keep them safe, and because the police let him flex his muscles, as it were.
Just because you're fucking scary doesn't mean you can't have someone that you love, and maybe even loves you in return.
>>50241809
Actually, what class combo, given PoW and Spheres being available, would be best suited to someone doing the transformation feat chain gimmick in order tobe able to turn into a fucking dragon whenever they want, and basically always have dragon-like traits via hybrid transformation? Natural attack build preferred, but I'm open to using a big slab of metal for a sword from time to time as well. Strength-based is mandatory.
>>50242065but why does she dislike bread ;.;
>>50242114
Chaotic Evil characters are a tad different. Sure they'll have things they value but they as a being see those things through a twisted and destructive light. Chaotic Evil people ARE actually monstrous.
>Just because you're fucking scary doesn't mean you can't have someone that you love, and maybe even loves you in return.
Being chaotic evil is not being scary, it's being sociopathic.
>>50242116
E.Flux and Chimera Soul, most likely.
>>50242133
>Being chaotic evil is not being scary, it's being sociopathic.

Definitely a mad dog.
>>50242151

>>50242090
wizard is always the correct answer to "how do I stat X in D&D?"
>>50242133
Keep in mind, that people can't be summed up in one word. "Sociopath", or "autistic", or even broader categories, like "warrior". these things have meaning, they inform the character, but there are always things people care about. Even those sorts of people care about their mom, even if it's only as an obligation.
>>50242155
Remember you need to follow your destructive/hedonistic/enraged whims. That's part of it.

He's taking Black Seraph and, as a result, takes great pleasure in drawing out the terror of his targets.
Veiled Moon adds the whole "reaping your soul" bit too.
>>50242177
A chaotic evil character would not care about his mom due to obligation, he may care about her but obligation being the reason does not make sense within that alignment.
But seriously being chaotic evil means who follow destructive and hedonistic whims and generally can't control yourself while enjoying hurting things and pursuing perverse pleasures. It's literally in pathfinder's description of the alignment.

Edge Lord probably. If Raiden wasn't in the Metal Gear loonyverse he would be better suited as a joke character with an eyepatch he doesn't need wearing a trenchcoat because it's cool.
>>50242254
You can have depth. You just also have to be an amoral sociopath who is a slave to his whims.

I'm pretty sure that spells, but not maneuvers, can change your alignment.
Talk to your GM about it. If you have some way to justify that particular type of maneuver (such as, say, you're a tiefling and simply channeling the power of your blood) then I imagine most GMs would be willing to run with even a flimsy excuse.
>>50242654
I play like, 3 things apperance wise. Guys that have around the same build as me so I don't have to worry about RPing the differences in build, girls about the same build for the same reasons, and monster-ish things like kobolds, goblins, living suits of armor, and orcs.
One of my dm's challenged me to roll a character from start to finish and so now I'm playing a female, dwarf wizard with blue hair. Only thing outside of my norms for body.
>>50242750
The character I wanted to do was a tiefling harbinger specializing in veiled moon / black seraph, Oni-blooded, Claws, vestigial wings.
Very heavily inspired byRemilia Scarlet.primarily uses her claws to fight, combined with her *ungodly* speed (was thinking about taking the feat that allows for a swift action to move at least once, because harbingers also get that ability).
I was looking for a way to replicate her giant-energy spear and the best means were the abyssal lance/armageddon techniques accomplish it, but both sadly have the [evil] descriptor.
The inspiration character is *questionably* evil, but not like cacklingly evil, she pings as neutral on the good/evil axis, even though her powers are questionable.

Remilia hasn't done anything overtly evil in the 2hu series. Plenty of *selfish* things, but nothing evil.
She doesn't murder the humans she allegedly drinks from (she's a 'light eater') and not one has died in her roughly 550 years of 'unlife'. Sun doesn't *truly* bother her (even if it makes her uncomfortable) which was the basis of the whole scarlet mist incident - she just wanted to walk around without a parasol). She's not affected by crosses or religious iconography. While the 2huverse claims she's a vampire she's clearly more demonic (the 2huverse calls her a Vampires (吸血鬼 kyūketsuki, lit. "blood-sucking oni")).
She tries to be frightening and mysterious, but she's actually somewhat childish. She gets intensely bored so ends up being drawn to the few things that actually excite her. She's well respected (partially because of her powers) and considered quite charming (by many of the youkai) and polite.
So it is very likely my dwarf will die next session. Is this too cheesy for his dying speech?
What has happened is that the party is being pursued, and my dwarf has chosen to stand and fight so the others may flee. He is the son of a dwarven clan that was consumed when he father died and there was a war of succession, his brother exiling him from their home. He planned on coming back triumphant to restore order to his mountain home that had fallen into war and rebellion.
"The blood of the mountain runs through me. Stone is my sire, and war is my mason. A thousand generation before me smile on this day, the day that their son proves himself brave. Today I shall return to the earth. I am stone. I am iron. I am dwarf, and not one filthy creature shall pass before my ire."
Does anyone have a link to the /pfg/ tier list of classes?

While rumors of her supposedly legendary sexual promiscuity and preferences are common throughout Sandpoint, Talks of Orgies and deviancy a plenty, The truth is far more subdued.
While she is experienced, she has only had about two dozen paramours in her life, and only about 7/8ths of them had visits to the bedroom every other night. and only about twice where two boyfriends were being seen simultaneously.
Not to mention she's only had a third person share her bedding thrice in her life. and one of those times only as a favor.
In addition she doesn't grab a strapping lad from the Rusty Dragon every night. Of course not! She only does that once a week. and only if the gentleman in question approaches her first!
So the rumors that she's the village riding mare is largely unfounded.

In Book 2 of Jade Regent you visit Kalsgard, which would give Margaret a prime opportunity to explore her heritage and discover either a relative or connection to her parents.

I'm... Kinda having fun? Like, the rest of the game /is fun/, and the worldbuilding and roleplay have been excellent lately. The GM's done a darn good job of implementing backstories and working with us. I just don't get why it's been so hard to get this part in particular to actually be workable. It's not the lowest point this group has hit, but I had hoped I would at least have a breather before the next dip.I can't truly be mad at the sorcerer player, because they got shafted by the dice /and/ the monsters we fought.I might start taking RotJR seriously, even if it's unlikely I will get in. Maybe I'll get lucky and it really will spawn multiple similar games.

Reminder for Runeregent applicants:
Spheres are allowed so you can take that level 1 alteration handbook feat that lets you choose a certain form and be able to at will shift into it and back as a full round action.
>Be a rogue with the ability to turn into a hawk
>Or a girl that can turn into a fluffy bunny
>Or an orc that can turn into a floating sphere (why is this an alteration talent)Unfortunately ooze and object aren't valid forms for the feat so you can't be a slimegirl or an adventurer that can turn into panties at will

Only trouble is there's not much room for leisure feats in gestalt.
You've already got your hands full getting all the necessary/important feats to get both your classes working properly.
>>50244055
>Only trouble is there's not much room for leisure feats in gestalt
this is everything wrong with /pfg/
>>50244055
>Only trouble is there's not much room for leisure feats in gestalt.
I'd argue the opposite; gestalt opens the door to talents-turned-feats or simply bonus feats from classes like fighter or Warder.
Plus, the synergy you get from classes means one feat will benefit, you shouldn't have to take a million feats to make both classes viable.

Is VMC barbarian just for rage worth it? The rest of it is useless to me, but rage is so delicious...
>>50241984
Basically just with a severe threat hanging over that character's neck.
The secret police types aren't going to be chaotic; hell if they weren't so lawful they might not have become evil from working for the state in the first place. It means they at least "give no fucks" about what they do, and may in fact *enjoy* the political fuckery, the wetwork, the silencing of dissenters (and anyone else you don't like), the abuse, the sheer rush of exercising your power like a blunt object as others are forced to look on helplessly.
A Chaotic Evil character is ME ME ME ME FUCK EVERYONE ELSE. If they're working for the secret police, we're looking at a literally expendable asset; someone they don't at ALL trust with any secrets, and whose only way out is a sacrificial fallguy.
But valuable?
Forget it. Useful sure, very useful even, but never *VALUABLE*; he will never be trusted or appreciated (you CAN'T trust him, you literally can't), and at the first rocking of the boat, fuckup or when usefulness declines a bit, he's the guy wearing the bomb-vest in your next false-flag.
>>50242254
You can have depth. What you can't have (otherwise you would not be chaotic) is a strict code - doesn't have to be someone else's - that you keep to, and keep "lines not to be crossed" to an absolute minimum.
We're not talking about direct interests or survival here; a Chaotic person will keep up his weapon training, but may just randomly do an hour at some point during the day and tries not to forget to do it most of the time, whereas a lawful person likely has his daily routine.
But more socially enforced things will only be followed to the minimum of avoiding punishment; and ONLY because of fear of the punishment (once you're stronger than the enforcers......). That means codes of conduct like Chivalry, professional secrets (like lawyers, doctors, etc), shit like "firmly believing you should never bring a rotary autocannon to a knife fight" and other stuff 'expected' of a person are only there for other people, not for you that knows how to get away with breaking them.
A chaotic character can have plenty of depth and personality, and a lot of that will come as their views (or rather, excuses you might say) on all the things that other people hold back about.
>>50244463
>>50244341
All this being said, it's ENTIRELY REASONABLE for someone who is only mildly Chaotic and mildly Evil to still have friends and be likable as a person, but simply be cruel and dangerous to be around. A raider of the high seas that sticks with his crew but is willing and eager to fight anyone else (including crewmates that are hesitant about what they're doing) can still be Chaotic Evil.
>>50243370
What else do you expect from fucking gypsies?
Thieves and brigands, all of them.
>>50244499
You can have some friends of course. Everyone has things they like or love, and anyone who has those may be ready to fight for them.
Again it's "value to a secret police" that was the issue. Someone who sees the directives or way of doing things of the organization as "mild suggestion at best" can't become a valued member of it; and generally can't lead it (if they somehow manage to take over it's going to quickly lead to either fatal replacement or organizational collapse) either.
The CE guy is a rabid dog at worst and a cruise missile at best; but whether he's detonated over a valuable target or put down behind the shed, he's not going to make it to retirement.
>>50244020
When I was talking with the guy to get Transformation (Or more specifically Hybrid Transformation) into the state it is, I had a spider lady character in mind.
That whole 'legs as arms' thing?
Was so I could have a spidergirl with 6 arms and two legs rather than drider-type.
Self-serving? Maybe a little.
So, is there any way to overcome horrible dex?
I had a former Nature Oracle that for reasons is going to Oracle of Life, and I had my dex at -6 because screw CMD.
Is there any way to fix this?
>>50243639
Dwarves make great beekeepers in a general sense - determined stubborn stout little bastards, their racial bonus versus poison means that stings don't really bother them (as well as their increased con score).
Add to that the stereotypical mountain-homes with valleys full of wildflowers and being a beekeeper and mead-maker are almost shoe-ins for dwarven professions.
The best part is that it isn't even hard work, just place the boxes and your industrious little pets do it themselves!
I imagine some dwarves get really attached to their bee colonies.
>>50244702
In fact according to the wasp swarm stat-block, the save vs bee/wasp poison is dc13 fort, which means that an entirely average dwarf (10+2 con, +2 racial save vs poison) beats the poison from a *swarm* of bees/wasps on a 10.
This more or less indicates that dwarves laugh off silly stings.
>>50244686
You... can't have -6.
0 is -5 and it can't go lower than that.
>>50244841

>>50244917
You could refluff Rage as being something like this, heck I can see a DM being fine with you insisting that you lose HP at the end of your Rage proportional to every round you were in Rage.
>>50244932
Rage doesn't really have a downside except you rubber band up and down HP. It isn't really what I'm looking for either because I am thinking more someone that I only turn on in a dire situation and save for the last moment.

Personally, Stalker would have been great if it was a full-BAB class.

>I really feel that Warder is the best dwarf initiator, but they're int based and not wis.
Warder becomes wis-based if you take the Ordained Defender archetype, which isn't too hard of a thing to explain in fluff (Torag probably loves those types.)

The Avowed got delayed slightly by last week killing my writing pace. I've got a few more things to get finished for Avowed 1 and then the last couple pacts, new archetype, and rest of the clauses will be up. Hopefully tomorrow night, if I can manage to get the time to write in the afternoon.
Expect Avowed 2 around the end of the month; we've got a lot of math to run with the two large archetypes, on top of writing the new material itself.

People get so god damn buttmad whenever an enemy is an anti-paladin because it "stifles their roleplay" since anti-paladin kick the shit out of good characters. I've had multiple people tell me I'm ruining their agency because their character would go into melee against an evil character, but the anti-paladin will kill them if they do.

Ok. Drow, skeletons, and dragons are the main races.
Next we'll be taking Major Themes.
Again first three.
>>50246041

So what I'm seeing first of all is gluttony is a big things. Skeletons can't do magic because they can't eat and use zombies as basically magic batteries to power things for them. Dragons are gluttony rather than greed based. Drow eat their slaves.
Also hedonism seems like It would be a big theme.
As for lots of dungeons? I'm thinking basing the entire setting where there is no surface world or objective gravity. Think of it like an ancient hollowed out asteroid filled with structures far older than anything has a right to be.
Now three minor races.

Also, no relation to this other anon >>50246326
So I wanna add an encounter with a giant squid to my game with the party being at first level.
I'm going to make it where it can't easily hit them and if they're smart they can get past it, but what I would really want is for them to kill it. So my question is how do I get them to kill a 20 AC monster at first level, without them running away, without them dying, AND without warning them?
I guess I'll just gonna have to hope one of them is crazy and buys tons and tons of arrows/bolts.
I was thinking of a tricky trap for paladins
They can use detect evil to avoid falling for evil reasons, but they dont have detect chaos
So cursed chaotic items would make them fall
>>50246556

>>50246584

>>50246599
I can see that being kinda neat.
Rather than it being a hard yes/no, their powers start to get shaky for a while before cutting out completely. Adds a little 'buffer' so they might notice their powers failing them before they go too far.
Unless it's something turboshit like skullfucking a baby or something.
>>50246569
No, my idea for the game was they would be after a wizard who lives in the sewers and he set up traps for anyone coming. One of the traps being the squid sitting in a pool only big enough to hold it.
So they could sneak past it (might need to nerf that +22 perception it has) and hit the switch to cage it so the rest of the party can pass safely, or shoot at it from a range where it can't hit them back. Problem is they might get sick of trying to hit with crits since that's all that can hit it or run out of ammo.
Maybe I'll just cave and let them start at a higher level...
How do you handle/do/deal with travel times?
How long does it take to travel?
>>50246681
If nothing important happens, just say the time and pass it. Maybe give them a bit of time to roleplay while on the road if you need to get up and get some food or drink or whatever.
>>50246712

3 miles an hour is a brisk but reasonable walking speed on open terrain
Reduce it if the party is bogged down or in shitty terrain

Part of my idea behind jels, was that they could be either a full race, or just a one-off caused by a spell gone disastrously wrong somehow.
I mean, 3.5 had half-golems that were +0 level adjustment. One of them was even the lead protag of a novel trilogy and they were always one-offs. Why not allow for a "half-slime" oneoff.

use the environment, perhaps it's bothered by all the waste in the sewers have it be constantly sickened and every two rounds when it's back to the squid's turn have it roll a fort save (DC 22 since it has a +14) to be nauseated for one round, small things like that can help maybe without just giving them level 2 at the start.
How can I obtain, Darkvision or Permanent Darkvision as an Elf Rogue
>>50246618
yeah, turboskullfucking any unwilling being might destroy their paladin status, and the way I have paladins fall is that their abilities begin to do the opposite of what's intended so their lay on hands begins to damage them/their allies, their charisma to saves bonus is actually their base saves - their charisma and smite is basically putting smite on themselves for one enemy, it's usually a pretty good indicator that you're falling and need to fix something.

holy shit I played with a DM like this once, he went full "REEEEEEEEEEEEE" one time, needless to say he no longer DM's.
are there any good time mage options in pathfinder?
>>50247397
Short serious answer - no.
Long foolish answer - You could pick a wizard with a bunch of spells you don't understand and make yourself into a time mage.
>>50247408
not even any third party stuff?

Time Oracle, or a wizard with Slow, Haste, Time Stop and the Time Stutter discovery (which is a lesser time stop)

Time sphere in Spheres of Power
>>50247415
SoP has a whole sphere dedicated to time effects.
>>50247415
Consider a spherecaster focusing on the Time sphere:

Look into the new options from the Time sphere handbook's playtest as well:

Remember the usual one-level incanter dip with 5 specialization points, a two-level hedgewitch dip as well if your GM allows Magical Knack to work with spherecasters, and a one-level sorcerer dip if your GM lets a sorcerer focus sphere stack with an incanter sphere specialization.

I've got like no idea how these spheres work, like how do they fit in with normal classes?
>>50247477
You either take a class that uses spheres or an archetype for a noral class. Spheres are at-will, mostly minor but scale fairly well and you can spend points to get bigger effects. Sphere casting results in highly thematic casters since you acyually have to invest in things to be good at them rather than picking the best spells of each level. Sphere DCs scale based on whether the class is closer to full caster, 6th level caster or 4th level caster.

>how do they fit in with normal classes
Spheres of Power is "supposed" to replace all Vancian casters, and contains enough Paizo archetypes necessary to do so:
http://spheresofpower.wikidot.com/
Note that Spheres of Power has a much higher optimization floor and ceiling than even Vancian full prepared casters from 1st- through 8th-level, even if the GM bans all advanced magic, prevents Paizo spell benefits from applying to spherecasting, and bans stacking an incanter sphere specialization with a sorcerer focus sphere. Even under such constraints, when pushed to the furthest reaches of optimization, spherecasters have far more raw *potency* and day-long stamina to bring to bear than Vancian casters. If the GM allows those options, then optimized spherecasting will completely blow away optimized Vancian casting until 8th-level.
This turns around at character level 9th, when Vancian full prepared casters receive 5th-level spells.

It requires the use of two Rogue Talents:

Perhaps you should find a new genre. Here's the artist's gallery:
