Outlaw Star jump version 3 completed. Basic changes, added companion imports, ship imports, a couple of new perks and upgrades, and improved the usability of a few of the ships upgrades. Changelog in the back.

Okay, so here's what's going on with Disgaea. The Mana Burst thing I showed off is a general perk. I've separated classes into Features, which basically give you a specialty in a particular area. You use these to effectively make your own 'Jumper' class, and you get at least two free, the rest costing 200 a piece. Vaguely contemplating a third freebie for specific origins/species or a conditional discount, but that depends on if I can make a huge number of Features or not.

Here's a sample.

Brawler – They have many names. Monks. Martial Artists. Street Fighters. Delinquents. They are masters of beating the crap out of things bigger than them just using their bare hands. And legs. Or tentacles. Point is, you know kung fu. Your experience will teach you new martial arts styles and make learning others faster, as well as letting you specialize into using mana as a sort of ‘ki’ to enhance your brawling attacks. Using this will make you stronger, faster, even punchier. With enough effort and training, you can punch an ordinary human into orbit, use mana to lift things WAY above your weight and move faster than the untrained, underleveled eye can follow.

Ok. Let's say we polymorph someone into a belt or something. Then we clear that belt's item world, fill it with relevant innocents, and turn restore them to animateness.

How much effort did we just waste?
>>
>>50008723
To be fair, I do think that it only working on regular humans doesn't make a lot of sense. Like, what does it do to people outside of that? If they have the same weight/mass then it should also be capable of that feat, excepting any strength, durability, flight, or other powers they may have to prevent it.
>>
>>50008723
I think they're implying that punching someone hard enough to send them into orbit would usually disintegrate them if they were an ordinary human. They're more complaining about how it's worded than the power level.

>Small ships can be stored in the warehouse. All other ships are not available to access when in universes without FTL spaceflight, but will be found in a prepaid port when you decide to leave a planet for the first time in an FTL universe.
I thought you were going to remove this?
>>
>>50008756
This is correct, though this anon >>50008754 does make a good point, excepting that any durability (besides those based on KE absorption) should make it easier and strength wouldn't matter in terms of actually launching them.
>>
>>50008754
I think it was less only working on ordinary humans and more of an example. Kind of like how Arcane magic from Overlord says you can cast fire balls and shit without mentioning that you can also stop time at high enough levels.

Professor Paradox used to comment whenever I'd stop time in Ben 10. Like, he'd completely no sell it. No effect whatsoever.
It's a good thing he was a pacifist, or I'd get really paranoid about that.
But it really freaked me out the first time he did it. Because I was using it to dodge an attack, right? And he turns out of nowhere and asks, "Do you always take the time to pose like that before you return to normal time?"
And I just about had a heart attack.

I mean. YES. But that's hardly any of your business, alright?!
Also, were you just pretending to be frozen the whole time?!
> "Well it seemed rude not to."
Fuck you, Professor Paradox.

...
I saved Zeal by showing up out of nowhere right at the part where Magus is supposed to get his powers drained and shoving him out of the way. Then me and Bass fought Lavos alongside him while I swore at him throughout the entire battle.
I called Magus a cum gargling leather bitch fuckboy to his face, purely so that his rapidly and exponentially increasing hatred for me would fuel his magic to greater heights and allow him to fight Lavos as we wailed against it.

After the battle there was a moment of smoldering silence, an acknowledgement of our joint victory between the two of us, and then we turned away from each other and never spoke to each other again.

It's actually not. You know how RPGs tend to have little slime creatures that you fight? It's like that, but you don't fight them, you raise them on a farm. So basically, instead of cows, pigs, etc. you have slimes.
>>
>>50008955
First off, this is a message board not a chat room. Using star symbols is cringy. Secondly, I don't give a shit if you want to try and use Senran Kagura to pull that shit, it at least offers another world to use. You might as well have claimed MonMun as a viable jump and it would have worked just as well.

Tried to make the capstones seem a bit better.
Added part about knowing when Suspicion is going off and not your normal paranoia.
Clarified some stuff about companions importing.

I realise the capstones aren't amazing on a chain scale, but I think they're the best you're likely to find within the setting. If there are specific suggestions to improve anything I'll consider them.

Me and HeavensAnon accidentally dared a jump into existence
HeavensAnon was working on Captain N and since we both read Captain SNES I goaded him into making a Captain SNES drawback
Since it mentioned going directly into Captain SNES and I egged him on so I took responsiblity

So yeah we basically made a interconnected pair of jumps(one of which mindfucked ASA for a short amount of time) on a dare
>>
>>50009015
Signs point to no. Mostly because the jump was more intended to capture the spirit of the movie, relative helplessness and fear. I should have just made it a full on gauntlet. I had fun with it, but I don't think it can really be improved without removing most of the danger.
>>
>>50009035
It was the best day of my entire jumpmaking career, right next to the relief I felt when I finished Boktai.

Also, in light of the changes to Disgaea and the removal of classes, Main Character got a slight revision.

Main Character [500]* - You’re not just anyone, you’re a protagonist! The star! The shining beacon of hope or despair! The one people constantly complain about on the internet and wish one of your companions took the lead instead! Well, screw them. You’ve even got a unique portrait to show for it. Your weight and importance to this world gives you the ability to unlock the same potential within others – in exchange for a considerable but temporary decrease in your power and energy reserves, you may unlock the potential within others – effectively granting them the Level One perk as well as the free version of Mana Burst. They will have none of the skill or training available from beings in this world – but with a certain handsome Jumper training them hard enough, they can now reach greater heights of skill and power. It doesn’t completely remove their limitations – but that particular ceiling is now much, MUCH higher. This also unlocks the true potential of the various abilities of the realms, as follows…

That was indeed a good day, I was downright spooked that that even happened. You two are downright absolute madmen.

Speaking of spook, and we're that at time of season this weekend: Favorite type monster and why? Bonus: did one of your companions turn into that monster through a jump?
>>
>>50009054
Oi Heavens, I got a question for you. I remember you mentioning a Baal scenario some time before. What will that involve? Will we have to fight Prinny Baal along with regular Baal? Also, will we get Baal as a companion or something? Really, I'd be fine with just getting his armor and the title of Tyrant Overlord.
>>
>>50009159
It feels wrong.

>>50009161
Nothing wrong with that.
>>
>>50009171
It's actually a drawback made specifically for Jumpers who decide to go straight for Baal's room at the jump start via taking advantage of the free reign the benefactor gives.

Turns out Baal is expecting you. Shenanigans ensue, involving Baal being a jackass and screwing with your freebies from the jump, a temporary powerlock/reduction, a race against time, quirky allies, and finally restoring yourself to full strength and having a showdown with Baal.

That's subject to change, but that's the idea. Rewards, I haven't decided on, but I honestly doubt I'm making Baal a companion option. The armor and title is a teeny bit more reasonable, but I'm undecided on it.
>>
>>50009210
That should be 'scenario', not 'drawback'. Ugh. Sleepy.
>>
>>50009047
Since that jump seems focused on that particular movie would you have anything against other people making jumps about other things set in that universe?
>>
>>50009173
>It feels wrong.
I kind of feel that way too, but it's not really a problem for me if it's not permanent. Also, I tend to see Synergized pair at least as one mind rather than sharing.

The little tentacles? Definitely. Heller and Mercer both sprouted little tentacles whenever they consumed anything.
But the mouth chest? The head sprouting legs to live on it's own and escape? Prototypes never show they level of horror/fuck you to nature.

They can shapeshift at least their arms into weapons, and can mimic people they've eaten, as well as the clothing they wore, but despite their power, they've got nothing on the Thing in terms of spur of the moment, ace up the sleeve bullshit.

>>50009167

>>
>>50009287
Whatever happened to TremorsAnon? Wasn't he working on a Thing gauntlet?

Of course, it probably wouldn't straight-up offer that shit, but maybe inert samples?
>>
>>50009357
Personally, I'm less concerned with the Thing's physiology, and more concerned with their/it's tech.
That spaceship gave no fucks about being completely locked in ice for millennia.
>>
>>50009312
I might be mis-remembering things, but if she's got good Whispers and Survival she might be able to navigate through the Labyrinth and possibly emerge from pretty much any Shadowlands.
So if you're on the other side of Creation expecting her to take six months to a year to show up, she could show up much sooner than you expect.

>>50009380
Not subscribing to the theory that another species was keeping The Thing prisoner?

>>
One more for the road. I give to you, anons...fluffy tail.

Beast Soul – Werewolf. Beastmaster. Catgirl. These are but many manifestations of one with the soul of a Beast. Whether from demonic heritage, a freak lab accident, or really dedicated cosplay – you have the features and some of the physical abilities of a single Earthborn mammal. The agility and claws of a cat, the senses and teeth of a dog, and so forth. And of course, you have the fluffy tail to show for it. The real meat of this form doesn’t come from the physical boosts and appeal, however. First, you can enter a frenzied state of animalistic rage for an increase in physical strength, speed, and durability, those it will be difficult to control yourself while in this state. Second, you can impose your will onto non-sapient animals not being directly controlled by a stronger will, potentially taming them and bringing them to your side as minions or turncoats. Things with human-level intelligence or above don’t count, but it can make for an excellent intimidation boost as a consolation. Howl with the soul of the wild, Jumper.
>>
>>50004772
>Skill Transference looks cool, but in mentions needing slots. What exactly are slots, how many do you start with and how/can you get more? If you can't then can you replace old ones with new effects or are you stuck with your first loadout?
Ack. It's supposed to use the 4 slots from Skill Linking, but I just realized that since it's possible to buy them seperately, I need to split them up, so each of those two perks now give two slots each. The description of how you get more is in Skill Linking
>Roughly how long would it take someone with Master Caster to learn/replicate a spell they saw? Would it being from another magic system make it take longer?
It really depends on how complex the spell is, but even one casting witnessed will give a Master Caster a good idea of how to replicate it. I'd say anything from instantanteous for minor effects like a D&D cantrip to a week of practice or so for something like a 9th level spell. Initially, being from a different system might slow you down, but the more systems you know, the faster you'd be able to make the adjustment.
>Is Composite Magic an 'on the fly' type of ability, or do you have to figure it out ahead of time?
You must figure it out before had. I'll add a note to that effect.

>Can I put the name plate on something that has certain criteria to be met, and then use it? Sorta like Use Any Item perks.
If the only requirement was ownership, yes. If you're the wrong species or don't have the right genome... no.

>>50005336
>One thing I feel could maybe be further clarified is the "skill transference" perk. I'm assuming that it doesn't let you do things like, say, internalise the Staff of Ultimate Death Rays so you can fire off destructive magic at will, but you COULD internalise the Amulet of Protection Against Death Rays).
Correct. I have used your suggested language. Thank you.
>>
>>50008723
I mean for a benchmark as to what you are eventually able to do in a high powered setting like Disgaea, specifying ordinary human IS somewhat underwelming. Though that could be easily fixed just by changing 'ordinary human' to 'person/ogre/battleship'. Powerlevels are to pretty vague anyways. Seems like he may just be nitpicking to start shit though.
>>
And I realized I forgot to post the revision. God 60 hour work weeks suck. I'm to bed.
>>
>>50009484
Wait please, I have a question: Does Auto-mode draw from resources (you address continuously, but not initially)? Like, if I had a spells-per-day limit, would Auto-mode decrease my daily spells by one?
>>
>>50009406
>spoiler
I didn't even know that was a theory. Never occurred to me.
That said, I still don't buy into it.
The ship seemed to have organic aesthetics – very much like the kind of decor a sapient puddle of flesh would go for, I think.
However, I just checked online and it turns out that the director's original idea was for there to be an alien pilot that the Thing imitates, but they cut it out and replaced it with that weird Tetris cylinder.
The 'Pilot' aliens were apparently supposed to be researchers collecting lifeforms from every planet they came across, accidentally picked up the Thing, and shenanigans ensued. It tried to eat everything, and they killed themselves and crashed the ship on purpose in an attempt to destroy it.

Personally, I like that they cut that part out. It's overly complicated.

As >>50009706 points out, the Immortal perks are in general a little over priced for those who don't get them free. But I priced them that way because the 200 CP cost of the Race plus the 300 CP value of the Drawback makes the whole package worth 700 CP, which is about what you'd get in discounts from backgrounds. Add to that the inherent problems with being an Immortal (inability to learn things in jump, fail state on being sealed away...) I tried to balance it all out.

Why can't I sleep? I'm so tired.

Oi, SJ-Chan, I have a couple of questions for you. First, if I buy the Tower of Mirrors, does it automatically deploy? Because there are some worlds I'd rather not suddenly flood with Lost Odyssey magic. On that note, what does it mean by "once per jump, in between jumps"? Is there supposed to be or between those? Secondly, is there any way to accidentally overload the Grand Staff with magical energy? I'd rather not accidentally break the thing just because I'm a really powerful magic user. Speaking of, what are the defenses on that thing? What can it tank?

Jump 180: Demolition Man
>Two of Swords (Peace), reversed
I don't think I even need to tell you what that means but it's fitting with the drawback I took.
>Age: 28
>Location: Los Angeles, 1996
>Identity: Rebel
>Drawbacks: Modern Times (+600)
>I'm A Seamstress? (1550)
I'm sure this will come in handy someday. I mean, I already had a passing knowledge, but never the interest to take it that far. Now? Professional seamstress level work.
>He Said He Didn't Care (1450)
I'm going to assume that Simon Phoenix made it out of police custody after he made this famous line. Probably pulled a Joker, killed the cops and drove off in the back of the squad car.
>Maybe Starve To Death (Free, Rebel)
This will be useful now and later. Now, because god only knows what the future here holds. Later, because god only knows what the future out there holds.
>I'm No Leader (1300, Rebel)
Just because people go with you doesn't mean you're a leader. But the point is everyone chipping in to do what they can to survive. When everyone does, everyone thrives.
>We Use These To Shop (1000, Rebel)
I can only imagine what effects this will have when I use it to recreate things that most wouldn't expect. You want body armor? We can firm up some leather and cloth, add chainmail, and while it may be a little heavier than kevlar it'll be more effective. You want a weapon? It's HILARIOUSLY easy to make firearms and most people don't even realize. You want to keep your family fed in a war torn cityscape? Now here's how to turn your basement into a garden for cheap...
>Pizza Hut (900)
Because in the future, pizza is a HELL of a lot more likely to be legal than tacos. Maybe that's why Cocteau is having such a bad time, he's always got the runs.
>>
>>50009863
>Rehab Program (600)
Now, this is part of what is going to make things work for me. I can teach people skills without them actually having to invest anything more than the time they wear the implant. If in thirty-five years Simon Phoenix can go from gang leader to one-man terrorist army, I think a few months of wearing these should give anyone the basics of being a foot soldier.
>Schwarzenegger Library (0)
I, uh. If I have access to this in 1996, does it mean I still get 2032's technology? Or is that only after the jump? Either way, infinite library annex for the warehouse!

So. Los Angeles, 1996. There's a large section of the city being held by a gang leader turned warlord. Actually it looks like it wasn't just Simon Phoenix, he was merely the worst of them. John Spartan really WAS the cop this city needed.

And now he's gone. And I'm just... some guy, in the middle of this all.

I'm going to let the details on how things happen speak for themselves. But Demolition Man, in brief... I've got the ability to put things together to work for whatever purposes I need, even if (thanks to the drawback) I can't replicate extrauniversal technologies. And instead of playing warlord, like the other idiots around here, I'm going to see what I can do to get decent people together. This is Los Angeles - I'm bound to find some people who are in untenable situations who are otherwise decent people. I've got the Rehab Program that I can give them, so that they can learn to defend themselves, to get skills that will help them survive until life is more ... normal. But we're in a war zone - you have to live that way.
>>
>>50009868

Every able bodied person is able to do SOMETHING, and while I do everything I can to pull people together (and live off of the local Pizza Hut, by hook or by crook) I'll be working to pull as many people into a common goal as I can. Whether they're here to be muscle to keep the drug-addled psychopaths that the warlords are employing to terrorize the population, helping out others with their needs, or just holding down jobs and doing what they can to get by. Sometimes there are only so many things you can do in a city that's at war.

And when you find enough like-minded people who have had enough, it's simple enough to give them the right training, makeshift armor, grease guns, and assault a given warlord's compound. The state refused to utilize the national guard, the LAPD refused to get involved unless there are evidence so concrete that the national media would damn them, and honestly... it's all outright ridiculous.

But when normal people have had enough and arrange themselves into a militia solely for the purpose of eliminating these assholes and returning to a normal life, then things are a little different. These may be warlords and doped-up gangsters, but the Simon Phoenix of 1996 is not the Simon Phoenix of 2032. And I will happily do my part to help these people return to a normal life.

Also, as it turns out, the Franchise Wars weren't literal wars, they were just a bunch of corporate buy-outs that ended up with Pizza Hut having a nationwide monopoly. But even after things in Los Angeles were more calm in the wake of the gang wars, the early 2000's still went insane, there was a horrific earthquake, subsequent unexpected uphevals in the political climate, and Schwartzenegger did such a good job handling the insanity in California that they passed an amendment to permit foreign-born US citizens to become president, and it looked like he was being set up for the 2008 election when I left, since he wasn't running for governor for another term.

The Tower does not automatically deploy. The Once per jump, in between jumps means it can only be used once at the end of each jump. So at the end of the jump after your Lost Odyssey Jump, you can spend 6 months in Lost Odyssey World.

The Grandstaff has many fuses. The defenses? It's essentially a flying battle platform, so probably flame throwers and other anti-personel weapons, plus automated defenses. It is armored, but probably can't take a pounding from anti-ship weaponry in it's current state.

There's an option in the current version that allows for you to import a Companion as your Symbiote. Why not take that? That way it's not just, "some thing," but someone you know.

Also, I wasn't happy with how it ended up, so I'm rewriting it. Being a vanilla human isn't a background anymore, it's a 600 CP Drawback, with the other variants of Symbiotes being lesser Drawbacks. And I'm leaving the Companion import option that makes them your Symbiote in.
>>
>>50010231
Can you...not? That's a pretty huge change, rewriting multiple entire origins, for a jump many months old by now.
>>
>>50010231
Why is human a 600cp drawback? Seems pretty extreme when most drawbacks that seal all out of jump stuff are only 300cp. Same with why the others are drawbacks? Why not just make the full one cost more? Also, are you just making them origins that give points for taking or just literally removing them and changing them into drawbacks? Because the latter is absolutely insane.

>>
>>50010237
Mostly my problem with it is that people complained that it was a, "one Background Jump," because one of them was specifically, blatantly better than the others unless you have a certain, hyper-specific outlook on life.

>>50010265
The latter of the two was the plan, because compared to Synergized Pairs, Gray-Matter Transfers and Imprisoned are neutered in some respect(Imprisoned are basically just regenerating supersoldiers, Gray-Matter Transfers are a collective mind with less power, and a human that is, quite literally, mentally stunted riding shotgun), and Humans can't take Symbiote powers, period, effectively locking half of the Jump away from even being selected for them, at the exchange of not having to pay 100 or 200 CP for a Background.

But then again, I don't have a ton of work put into it yet. Just time, and I have time in spades these days. If people don't want it rewritten, I'll go with the majority, even if I don't necessarily agree with it.

>It feels wrong

I could understand having a 'Parasite' in your body might be troublesome. But a 'symbiote'? Just look at the name. That thing needs you to live, has to a adapt to your needs and they're eager to help. And they're not human nor they have any human's needs. So they won't want to 'take over'.

They're designed to assist you, with them being super-computers that come some cool telekinetic powers and various neat super-science, as well as a friendly voice to advise you.

I have also taken other 'inner voice' perks just for the heck of it.

Do you want to be alone, anon?
>>
>>50010334
Yeah, gonna recommend against ripping out half the jump and screwing over who knows how many builds. I know what you intend and I can see the problem that definitely is there but it's really just way too late to do something this extreme.

If you had done this shortly after the jump was posted? Yeah, it could've worked. Why on earth did you leave it for half a year (At least, judging by my folder dates anyway)?
>>
>>50010334
I have to agree with the 'too much, too late' thing, also echo the question of- why did you leave it for so long if you knew the problem was there? Unless it happened on the IRC, I'm pretty sure Symbiote only got discussion at all back when it was first posted so feedback should've only happened then.
>>
>>50010334
Er, kinda unclear on this actually but would you be just removing all the perks and items linked to the origins you're turning into drawbacks?
>>
>>50010334
Why not just make Synergized cost a bunch more? If you're already willing to consider extreme changes to the jump, it seems like that one would be easier to balance and wouldn't mean you're removing a great deal of content from the jump.

Jump 181: Breaking Bad
>Two of Wands (Dominion) (Setting goals and a vision for the future.)
With the cancerous concern lonely man must use chemistry skill in making most potent of drugs methamphetamine. Danger and serious threat comes to man’s family to bring his to life to serious impact.
>Age: 21 (-50)
>Location: Albuquerque, 2002
>Identity: Drop-In
>Drawbacks: Lung Cancer (+300)
>No More Half Measures (1150)
Knowing whether what I do is going to have the intended effect in straightening someone out without having to spend a half hour looking at their future with clairvoyance is pretty freaking useful.
>Blowfish (950)
So I can take responsibility for unrelated things, as long as they're things that'll build my reputation up appropriately. Heck yes.
>Nerves of Steel (Free, Drop-In)
No fear? Why, I can't imagine that this won't come in handy when it's time to start the superhero arc. Wouldn't this basically be an 'I win' button for a Green Lantern?
>Double Life (650, Drop-In)
Speaking of things that help the superhero arc...
>Creative Chemist (550)
I'm leaning way more in the direction of changing the world with enough work. There is a choice between what is right or what is easy. I'll make the same decision I have always made in that regard.
>Remember My Name (250)
Nobody will take credit for ripping me off. Everyone will know what they're doing. And when my name is out there, it's treated with the respect it deserves. (Suddenly I realize, Breaking Bad would be a good jump before Harry Potter if someone wants to go full Dark Lord...)
>Distinctive Hat (Free, Drop-In)
Yeah, not wearing a pork pie. There are better hats than that. Cowboy hat, maybe.
>Suits (200)
Now THIS is handy. A suit for quite literally every occasion. I'll be keeping this with the warehouse wardrobe.
>Teaching Contract (0)
Also handy: I can now go literally anywhere and get a job teaching. Which can have a very long reaching effect for many reasons, more than some might think.
>>
>>50010397

Yeah, so as good as the shows Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are, I'm going to utterly derail them. Walt? He's getting that cancer marker cleared from his genes, and I'm going to encourage him to go back to school. Saul Goodman? Well, not Saul yet, but he's getting quiet nudges to live a better life.

Me? I'm going to get a job teaching and dedicate a clone to that full-time. In fact there are a few that I'll be sending to various schools to do that. Lower-middle class household wage? Yeah, I can double my salary up to $40k a year, so that's perfectly fine.

And then, since this is about the first jump that is basically 'the real world except with The Chicken Brothers restaurants', I'm going to go about tracking down my family and see how everyone is. There are some things I need to do to spare everyone heartache. It's just too bad I'm here too late to say goodbye to some other family members.

Also giving my local version, and my immediate family's versionss, and the versions of a few choice family and friends, their choice of packages from the Rehab Program so that they can learn fun things. Woodworking! Crafts and tools! Motorcycling! Competitive ice sculpture! Art! Crafts! Technology beyond compare! The ability to design and create it!

And I'm going to save a certain someone's life because she does not deserve to die from a brain aneurysm.

God. I still haven't gotten over Lil's death after all these years, and I had forgotten it hurt this bad to think of her. When you carve a piece out of a tree, sure, the trunk grows around that missing chunk, but it's always going to be there. The missing chunk might shrink. Might even be gone. But that's always going to be an obvious scar.

I'm going to bed to try not to think about this...

>>50010372
I was dissuaded by a friend, who helped me write it, from messing with it, because, in retrospect, he didn't want to do anymore work on it. He'd started getting pretty quiet whenever I started talking about it about a week in. He was done, and if he was done, he wanted me to be done as well, because he didn't want to talk about it, and if I wasn't done, I'd just keep talking about it. He's not as bad as this makes him seem, he just gets really interested in things for, like, a couple weeks, then just drops them, and I came up with the idea to write a Jump for it shortly before he dropped it.

When I got back to it, to write my own build, I remembered all the flaws, and I wanted to rewrite it. And I've been kinda plinking away at it on my own for a while.

>>50010375
Complete rewrite. New backgrounds, new general conception of the preconceived notions behind it, new perks(mostly fairly similar to the previous version, as far as Symbiote powers go, but with a strict dichotomy; Symbiote powers would be their own thing, with no Discounts, while the Background perks would be usable by everyone, even Jumpers that just wanted to be Humans). "No half measures," and all that.

>>50010382
Doesn't really solve the problem, or satisfy any of the issues currently being talked about. It wouldn't fix the underlying issue that that one background was intrinsically better than the others, or that people would have to rewrite their builds.

But again, I have very little actual work put into it, so I'm willing to just drop the rewrite of it. I'm just surprised that there wasn't this much outcry when I rewrote Dead Space.
>>
>>50010413
>Privacy
You can fuse with it post-spark if that's an issue.

https://youtu.be/k-VqWCyCaww?t=29s
>>
>>50010422
Yeah, problem is that your solution just creates problems of it's own. Complete rewrites don't really work out well when most people have long since jumped it and cemented their builds. Dead Space was pretty shitty in it's first incarnation and really didn't seem to change much in the new version, more adding then changing. It's also, a unfortunate but true fact, that Symbiote is just offering more stuff that people want, meaning it gets more attention and more focus in chains.

This is kind of just one of the flaws of this place, that you can't really change something that much once it's set and done. Huge updates have been done in the past, Resident Evil is one of the best examples, but in those cases it's almost always just lots of stuff added, almost nothing changed. What you're talking about is completely changing it all.
>>
>>50010422
>Complete Rewrite
Yeaaah, nah. I'd really prefer not to need to retcon a jump about a hundred places back in my chain that had some pretty big influence on that chain. That's even worse then what it initially seemed, with you just removing a few origins, now all the jumpers get their builds changed no matter what.
>>
>>50010422
Wow, your friend is an asshole. Losing interest in things is fine but manipulating your friends to give up on things they're interested in just so you don't need to bother listening to them talk about it, when you could just ask them to stop talking about it? What a selfish prick.
>>
>>50010422
I'd prefer you drop it.
>>
>>50010471
He's weird. He likes working on things he's interested in, but if he's especially bored of something, he'll kinda no-sell his ability to think about things related to it.

And it doesn't just affect others, he hates losing interest in things he enjoys and goes through cycles of them. He was on a Souls kick a while back, and he lost his shit when he lost the ability to actually focus on the game, because his brain lost interest in it. He didn't just lose the ability to enjoy it, he lost the ability to be good at it, at all. Same thing happened with No Man's Sky, too, more recently; really enjoyed it as a game that just let him shut his brain off and explore, a few weeks passed, his brain tired of it, and he lost his ability to shut his brain off and enjoy exploring in it. It borders on being a mental illness, really.

Overall, though, consider it dropped. I guess Dead Space didn't have this outcry because not a lot of people had taken it? Dead Space has a pretty big nope factor after all, so a lot of people are likely to avoid it. Something about nearly unavoidable mental attacks.
>>
>>50010536
Think it's more that Dead Space just doesn't offer nearly as strong or cool shit as in Symbiote. Sure I can pick up one of those neat mining cutters in DS, but in Symbiote I can become a shapeshifting monster who thinks thousands of times faster and can make antimatter. You'll find the two things that get the most focus with DS is the setting itself and sometimes the stasis module stuff.
>>
>>50010536
Sucks for him but it doesn't change that he was a selfish prick to make you stop working on it instead of just asking for you to talk about something else or even just fucking doing something else. Having a problem isn't an excuse to screw with other people on purpose.
>>
>>50010536
Are they EVER going to finish that Dank Space plot?
>>
>>50010422
It's a shame, but people are scared of updates because they feel they'll be met with nerfs. It's been that way for a while.
>>
>>50010600
Or it could've been the fact that it was a lot longer past the first release than this one is. People had done their Jumps of it, and were a few cycles of Jumps past it. Their first few tries at it were over and done with, and they hadn't gotten back around to it yet.

>>50010606
He lives in another state and we only get to talk two, three times a week. I'm not saying that it's not an asshole move on his part - it was - it's just, well, I could've been a bit quicker on the uptake. After the second or third time of him no-selling me on helping, I could've just stepped back and just said, "Yeah, nah, I got this." It wasn't my first Jump, and it's not going to be my last, so I should've grabbed the agency I had from it and kept going on my own. As much my own fault as his, to one degree or another.

Now I can focus a bit more on working on, as long as no one else has dibs, Dino Crisis, Starbound, and, maybe later, Shadow Warrior. Also, how does one go about taking over a project that's in the WIP folder, but not the adoption folder, but that hasn't been updated in, like, almost/over a year? I really want to work the FFT Jump, and the author is, seemingly, long fucking gone.

>>50010638
Man, I don't fucking know, but if they do continue it, and it continues the pattern of being less enough than ten years past the end of the prior one, I'll have to update it again.
>>
>>50010656
Personally I think if you want to fix it you'll have to come up with something other than 'burn it down and start again'. I know you said the problem is that it's a one background jump, but I went Grey Matter so that I am the symbiote, and got discounts on importing my companions so that they were symbiotes as well. Getting rid of that would actually seriously hurt my build, since it's an early jump for me and I heavily rely upon it.

Changes will almost certainly always upset someone though, so you face the challenge of figuring out a way to 'fix' it without upsetting /too/ many people. Rewriting it is too much, but maybe you can find a middle ground.

Maybe you can't, and it'll just stay as is. Who knows. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
>>
>>50010656
Someone mentioned doing Starbound a few days ago?
>>
>>50010760
Well, in the proposed rewrite, Gray-Matter Transfer would've been a Drawback. I don't know how I'd do any change to the Companions, I hadn't gotten that far, yet. But, again, the changes have been dropped.

>In the game, both your stamina and your ammo run off of a single energy meter. There are mods that add magical, ki-based, and psionic abilities, and they run off of the same meter as your stamina and ammo do.
Is what the jumpmaker said. You were overly simplifying the argument.
>>
>>50010943
Huh. Thought it'd cap out at a certain level of exertion but I can see that working. You'd still have an upper cap on the maximum amount of energy you can use at one time though.
>>
>>50010953
Mods are a pretty poor argument anon, especially for such a good and desirable effect. There are mods that make you an invincible character in Oblivion, yet it doesn't have a perk to make you invincible nor to give you unlimited magic.
>>
Arguing about it won't do much good until there's perk text.
>>
Can you use the "friend" companion option in Smite to get a canon companion?
>>
>>50010979
We all know what the perk text is going to be though. It's just the author using any justification they can to get a specific perk they want.
>>

>>
>>50010997

I love the way you think anon.
>>
>>50010953
I can see justification for stamina and ammo working together, even it being pretty cool, but I really don't see fan made mods being good reason to extend that a really big extension to cover magic, ki and psionics. It feels a lot like a way to get the main benefits of Conjoined Conjures, Temple of Thought, Kanka and an unmade psychic power one and have them all together at once. If it was entirely within the main game I think it could be sold but with it relying mostly on fan stuff I don't think it should be in.

Given the way that even just a few threads ago we had people talking about how CC and Ensoul are basically the only things of worth in Cardcaptor Sakura? >>
>>50011027
I'd say the perk that means your magic and spells you design can't hurt you, the perk that gives you ability in Cardcaptors magic, the CTRL-Z perk and the magic sensing perks are pretty awesome though.

What's the reason they can't go longer? Lack of nutrients/energy/something else?

I know that's a joke but considering how much research I've invested into that specific area over the years, the idea of a magical girls arms race sounds amazing.

Is there any perk to make someone keep a deal they agree to no matter what? It's fine if it also holds me to the deal too.
>>
>>50011528
Changeling The Lost is pretty good about this stuff. Pledgemaker perk is really good. It basically allows you to make a Faerie contract, and punishes anyone that breaks it.
>>
>>50011557
That's not really like what I was asking after. If they can break it, even if they suffer a punishment, it's not good enough. Something like the Terminator perk on keeping deals would be more like it, but that one can be ignored with enough willpower.

Someone recently picked up FFT and has been working on it, but is kind of doing a cock up job on the whole thing. IMPRESSIVE idea is what it is. Gotta break into a prison planet to get the coordinates, I don't think it was ever specified in the show what they were.

As much is convenient for the plot! And yeah, it was definitely crude. "Experimental" if you want to be polite, but this is /tg/ so the answer to that is "no". I'll say wing it for this one, if I were to try and fix this I'd basically have to redo a shit ton of things, so it and Erfworld would likely be the last to be fixed.

Quite honestly, when I finished LoT, there really wasn't much for me that I could think to do anymore that would be a challenge besides the DBZ jump, which wasn't out yet. I had an army, literally, armed with lasers, plasma, and tanks dedicated to using those. There's not

Lack of lungs/and heart = no blood oxygenation = "brain death" of the sub-parasyte is the reason I believe. Part of the reason they need to live in a human to begin with.
Technically, if you don't need to breath in the form you're budding off, there would be no limit, ditto if the bits you bud off have their own lungs and circulatory system or something.

Yeah, see, with the Dahak jump, people can now acquire a moon-sized ship with very little risk, so long as you have the ability to make robots.

Hm, okay. Interesting. I do indeed not have to breathe, and otherwise I should be able to shapeshift in lungs and circulatory systems easy enough...

They're basically copies of you with as many neurons as you can spare in there, right? Are they especially loyal, beyond that instinct to rejoin you?

Also thought of some other questions, if you go Parasyte with Multiple Parasytes, you can say goodbye to your other Parasytes to be able to use all the areas they covered in addition to your own, right?

Would I need to relearn how to use/shapeshift those areas, or do they just work the same as my Parasyte bodypart? Any extra difference between Cranial/Body?

And if I assume Parasyte altform and join with a new host... can I shift the parts of his/her body like they were the Multiple Parasytes or would I just have my bodypart?

Also, that Parasyte altform... can I replace another part of someone's body, or am I locked to the same one? Like a Cranial Parasyte deciding to join someone's arm as a Body Parasite?

50 ships, most of which were being controlled by one AI and only some of which were crewed by Humans. This is only after two or three years of preparation by the protagonist. A jumper is guaranteed at least 1000 years to gear up.

Wait, why? If anything magic should prove more effective than conventional science since the bastards will never see it coming.

>>50011958
Realistically I'd figure magic would be the way to go to keep the population alive while keeping the pressure on them. Protection of the Count on all the major population centers, Spyro-brand portals to evacuate the rest. Meanwhile you can smack them with entropomancy curses, use wrecked ships for sympathic links and cleave through their ships with hellfire-or summon angels, demons and eldritch beings to do it on your behalf since you've got a lot to manage.

Magic – See, if you’re some kind of NERD, you can actually refine mana into something besides generic energy blasts or cutscene attacks. Namely, you can form classic RPG elements – fire, water, and so on – using a smaller amount of mana than you would throwing it around like an idiot. It even has use outside of combat, too. The only downside is that it needs a lot more concentration, setup, and study as opposed to just tossing raw power around. With enough time and experience, you can bathe cities in fire, flood them, or even ruin the day of the local weather reporter. You might be a tiny bit more fragile than the average fighter, though, if you don’t keep up your stamina or physical training – wizards never seem to jog very much. Comes with a free Skull Mask or Witch Hat.

Boring Magic – Okay, maybe you’re not really into the whole ‘slinging around fire and lightning like a madman’ kind of magic. Maybe you prefer a more passive, supportive approach. Either that or you’re a companion who got shafted back into the healing role. It’s okay, I understand. This is one of the odd exceptions I mentioned earlier, where instead of blowing the crap out of stuff, you actually heal and restore others. Close up wounds, purge diseases from the body, things like that. With some extra practice, you can form powerful barriers or defensive buff spells, along with being able to restore lost limbs, organs, and even broken hearts! Nah, I’m just kidding about that last one. One thing, though – reviving the dead is actually incredibly rare here, outside of reincarnation or the services of the various Netherworld hospitals. You won’t be able to learn that sort of thing without some kind of help, even if you grind your butt off. That sort of thing usually results in sacrificing your life for others, and I’m pretty sure that’s something you might want to avoid.

Thief – And here’s another one. A thief is...well, really good at stealing things. Picking pockets, sneaking around, using small and quick weapons, that sort of thing. But you can become really, REALLY good at it. Like, stealing someone’s weapons mid-swing, taking their wallet while they’re distracted by the plot, or removing someone’s pants without them noticing. Fun things like that. You become better at stealing and sneaking as you gain experience, to the point you could take things like ‘memories’ or ‘strength’ and WOAH CALM DOWN! DOWN, JUMPER, DOWN! These aren’t as exciting as they sound. It mostly means stealing a fraction of the ‘stats’ of an enemy to boost yourself or inflicting ‘status effects’. You can’t really put to use the things you steal in other ways, much less steal abilities. They don’t actually last very long or anything quite as exciting as permanently stealing things like those, but they’re definitely useful in battle. Still, never underestimate the ability to take a chunk out of someone’s physical strength, okay?

Here's one I know someone was excited for.

Basically it means that what you buy with CP works outside of its home universe. Certain abilities and items are dependent on the physics and metaphysics of their home universes. Buying those same items and perks with CP guarantees that they'll work, by way of jumpchain fiat, independent of local physics and metaphysics.

And then, somebody who has donated tons of money to lots of important conservation efforts and healthcare projects, says they are leader of an interstellar power capable of slowing aging to a crawl and ending many diseases, among other things, is willing to give this tech to you so long as you join this interstellar power and understand she is ultimate leader. Prinny [Restricted and must be chosen first for Prinny] – Where did you go wrong?! You’re a tiny cartoon penguin. You have an uncontrollable verbal tic and you can’t really use mana in as flashy a fashion as others. On the plus side, you have a natural aptitude for penguin-sized swords and can wield them with the same amount of skill and flexibility as a Weapon Master. You also explode if somebody throws you...though unlike a ‘normal’ Prinny, you won’t die from someone doing so. It’ll still hurt a little, though, so try not to make it a habit. Post-jump, the downsides to this form disappear. You can keep the ‘exploding if somebody tosses you’ ability and give it a toggle option, if you like.

Features nearing completion. Majin are going to be something of a special case, so I'll post that once it's done.

How much of a torso can be made up of a parasyte? Combined with Cranial, it may be an adequate solution.
>>
>>50014547
If I remember right, Uda, the only person who we see having a body parasite besides Shinichi, has a parasite that starts at his jaw but extends down into this throat and lungs. Jaw (not a very creative name, but neither is naming the parasite in your right arm "Righty", so Shinichi has no place to talk) at one point moves Uda's organs around to protect him from being stabbed, so he must have spread through more of the torso than just the lungs.

Majin Soul [600] – What, you want to go right for the cheat option? Seriously?! I even went through the trouble of detailing all of the above! Ugh. Fine. Non-Prinnies can forsake the ability to take Features and just take this one, though it can’t be taken for free and costs 600 instead of 200. You have the soul of a mighty Majin, giving you an across-the-board growth rate and potential increase in all stats and mana use, though you won’t gain any of the special abilities of the other features and will have to learn them at the same, boring pace as you would normally. But you will master the use of weapons quickly, and have an increased mana pool to throw around power with. It will be a literal grind, but you will become a master of battle and a terror on the field with enough experience, dishing out raw power like candy. If you’re a Demon, you will be an actual Majin, if you so wish.

Here's Majin. This seem like a fair way to handle it?

And you want to avoid that as well.

I avoid appealing to politics and governments.

Use perks that allow you to insert your myth into the world a priori, and then benefit from said myths. Show up, do a small but visible miracle, and then start empowering people who pray to you or believe in you. Let that simmer and build memetically, then make your grand entrance and do something big and bold.

In short time you'll have a following, a dedicated minority, ready and willing to accept your guidance and do your will. Take care of your followers, and make sure they take care of you, and be open about having the solution to big problems. Be deliberately apathetic about politics, and just show concern for the people.

Make the people crown you.

Besides, pretty sure Echo is an Overlord of Bel. The evil ending for the Chaos route has Abel and his demon army casually stomping the rest of the world into submission. >>
>>50015108
next question, with unlosing jumper do you have to be all those things for it to work or would it work if you are only most of those things, because my Jumper is Not really kindhearted, but the rest applies. There are some seasons where he could pass as a Rider but I don't think he would fit the bill for many of them.
>>
>>50015035
I didn't say it would work, I said that would be the most likely reaction to someone strutting their ego. Even if it's annoying nowadays how everyone assumes they'll succeed at everything. Where's the adversity?
>>
>>50015120
The fish guy has that shark sword that eats chakra. It also drains chakra from the user at a constant but non-detrimental rate, which acts as excercise for your chakra system and causes it to become stronger over time, though this takes a substantial amount of time (ie, years of just carrying the sword around) to see any noticeable benefit. You don't have to actually hold the sword, though, it's enough to have it slung across your back or something.
>>
>>50015167
Having some of the qualities means it will work with some potency instead of your full potential. Think of of the 'hot-blooded hero' qualities as a modifier that increases your output. It can still be used so long as you have some form of determination and drive, but it has a bias towards folks who act like an 80s hero.
>>
>>50014623
He actually is called Joe, because Jaw.

And the guy made from 5 or so Parasytes has them spread across his torso and rest of his body. He actually only has a small teeny bit of weakpoint
>>

Because it's almost guaranteed that you'll succeed at everything? There is none.
>>
>>50014911
Man, who shit in your cereal this morning? Take a breather.
>>
>>50015120
It's like a muscle, the more you use it the greater your reserves grow. Also, since it's the result of mixed spiritual and physical energies, cultivating either of those will result in chakra growth. Plus there are some specialist techniques. Tsunade and Sakura, for example, use a specialized seal that stores their chakra up over the course of years, lowering their reserves all the while. But once said seal reaches full capacity, it dumps all the store chakra into them at once and permanently expands their reserves by a huge amount. It can also allow them to get temporary power boosts by draining some of their life force, too. So yeah, you can definitely increase it. The perks that increase your chakra reserves are for starting out stronger. Which is still good, because starting stronger means you can exert more chakra when training it, meaning you can get bigger gains. Chakra growth builds on itself. Not exponentially, but it definitely seems to be the case that the stronger your chakra is the stronger your chakra can be.
>>
>>50015166
Potential is a large component of maximum chakra reserves, but as it's mental energy + physical energy improving either will help so long as you don't get too far out of balance. And there's several schools based on being out of balance, too, so that's not the worst thing that can happen.
>>
>>50015188

My government is a copy of the Imperium from Dahak chronicles.

That means I only have absolute authority im military matters, and little in civil. The Assembly of Nobles is the legislative branch, and I'm the executive. The Assembly of Nobles can vote me out of power, and the AI - same one from Dahak Chronicles, actually - that controls most of my forces will back them up.

The same AI also evaluates my sanity and monitors the approval level of a majority of the Assembly. If I don't match both criteria, It promptly locks down everything except for the transporter systems that allow interstellar travel. It only resets when the next jump starts.
>>

Might be a translation issue, the copy I have has him just be Jaw. And Goto's parasites are in his limbs and head, it's just that they extend inward to the torso. With training, basically. There are also a few items that can help increase it.
The perks that increase it makes the training & items much more effective. But it's not like they're the only way to increase it.
>>
>>50015244
Look man, there are some things that are impressive, but usually they involve taking scenarios or drawbacks. Most jumpers will be able to succeed in what they set out to do, though not all of them will have accounted for the consequences.
>>
>>50015223
It must be a lot. The jump says that unless stated otherwise, any perk that grants chakra increase only does so half as much as You Have Reserves. The True Jinchuriki perk doesn't say otherwise. So you've got more chakra than Naruto does, and he has ridiculous amounts of chakra. Granted, you don't have the chakra shroud ability that being a jinchuriki gives, which is what makes that enormous amount of chakra so OP. But at least you'll never tire out.
>>
>>50015313
Except if you know they're going to win anyway, then it's not impressive because you know how it's going to end. I haven't seen anyone here who bothers with consequences unless the chain ends or it's for humor. That's not impressive because they focus on how awesome they are and blow off any attempt to point out flaws.

I mean, I suppose that's true. You'd have to cut her off of Metallia or whatever it's name is first, and that's basically a dark god. Not to mention that if you did that, she'd be massively depowered due to not having a direct line to Metallica's raw energy or whatever.

I don't think you could pull the friendship thing on Pharaoh 90 though, and Chaos would likely have to take Frisk levels of bullshit to get her to listen.

Wasn't fun. That drawback is now right up there with Type-Zero's, Asura's Wrath's and Captain N's capstones on 'things I'd rather never do again'.

OC Companions I've finished! got to finish 2-3 more and then it's on to drawbacks

Karate Kid(200): A Transfer student from out of town, this kid is quick. He grew up watching wuxia and martial arts movies all day and was determined to become the hero. You gave him an opportunity he can’t miss, so he’s joined your cause...and what a pal to have! He has martial arts expertise that gives him the effects of “Staying Hungry”, “So I’m Just ready”, and “Shooting Star”...Making him basically unparalleled by anyone else in his age bracket when it comes to a fight. He can get pretty intense too, and give off a death stare as detailed in “ Whoa Here She Comes.” He also has a strange ability to read people and situations with almost unnerving accuracy, giving him eyes sharp enough to work a lot like “Understanding the Art.” I just hope you like action flicks, cause that’s all he’s going to want to watch when you’re not kicking ass for justice.

Sweet Pollyanna(200): Look for the girl with the broken smile...Well, not quite broken. With everything that’s happened to her, you’d think this young woman would sleep uneasy at night. Losing her family, out in an unfamiliar country, with only her Grandma to take care of her… but you’d be wrong. She’s found joy in others...and seeing that you might have shadows in your own heart, has offered a hand in friendship. Her attitude is bright and undefeatable, with a strength of character that affords her the benefits of “At least I’ve got my Donuts”, “You Know the Rules and so do I”, and “You’ve Got that Wrong.” Even despite how she can become a soft-hearted crybaby over small things, she has a heart of steel and a sharp unconventional mind… She has a mental fortitude and resolve that works much like “Out of the Box” and “Just the Beginning.” Maybe in some difference circumstances...she could even be your Last Hope.

Jump 182: Lovecraft
>Page of Wands (Inner fire that can drive away fear and replace it with fury.)
>Age: N/A
>Location: Boston, 1775
>Identity: Inhuman (-400)
Being human in this setting, while certainly possible to survive, is probably not a path to thriving. Plus, this is the inhuman chain.
>Drawbacks: Crawling With Love (0), Weirdness Magnet (+100)
It looks like I'm going to find out just how weird things can get during the Revolutionary War. This should be entertaining. If I see any anime girls around, at least I'll know that there's something very wrong.
>Shoggoth (200)
Adding the abilities of a shoggoth to my shapeshifting should be absolulely useful. And the other abilities of a shoggoth... well, needless to say they are nothing to sneeze at. Even if I plan on mostly travelling and not staying in one place very long, in human form.
>Eldritch Lore (100)
I'm not stupid enough to try any of those summon-things-that-should-not-be rituals, but knowing what IS out there, and what to look for on the human level, is useful.
>Fearsome Visage (0, Inhuman)
Well, I AM a shoggoth. If someone sees me in my natural state, they're going to freak the hell out.
>The Waste Lands (400, Inhuman)
This is why I am travelling and not staying in a single place for long. If I do, the color starts fading, things start getting grim, and eventually they fall apart. People lose vitality. Trees and crops die. While it's fine for this to happen if I'm sitting on a desert island, anywhere else this is a very bad idea, and I refuse to permit this to happen.

After all, I'm spending ten years pretending to be human. It would ruin the point of pretending to be one if I'm killing them by merely being there.

Can the Memory Enhancing Device be used on the NEXTGEN Memory Driver?

Do the Jumper Magnum, Lost Shooter, Lost Saber, and Shieldstriker only gain the Powers of Memories when you activate a Maximum Drive, or do they assume the properties of a Memory as long as one is used with the Weapon, and the Maximum Drive just ramps it up?

Can you direct me to a list of all the Memories you get with the Briefcase of Gaia Memories?

>I haven't watched the whole thing
...right. First of all, evil snake guy is named Orochimaru, and he's the leader of Hidden SOUND, not Sand. Sand is in desperate shape because their daimyo keeps giving missions to foreign villages, causing them to become poor and weak. They're desperate, and thus Orochimaru is able to manipulate them into meeting with him. He then kills their leader, takes his place, and gets them to ally with him and help him invade the Leaf village. And before you say anything, nuking Sound is not only not possible (it's a bunch of hidden bases scattered all over the world, though primarily in the former Land of Rice which Orochimaru apparently conquered by himself), but there are innocents trapped in those bases, and there will be people important to the plot in those bases as well. The big threat isn't Orochimaru though, that would be Akatsuki. filled with 9 guys who are on Orochimaru's level or stronger, who rule in the Rain village. The leaders are pissed off at the rest of the nations who turned their nation into a warzone then abandoned them to starve and fight each other, and also want to bring peace to the world, so they want to grab all the tailed beasts and bring peace with an ultimate weapon. The guy pulling the strings has other plans.
>>
>>50015962
Letting them take Missing Piece sounds neat. Having other Riders backing you up is always cool, I love Rider team ups.
>>
>>50015967
1) Nope. NEXTGEN is completely new and as such is not compatible with the Enhancer.

2) The latter. Shroud's magnum had explosive rounds and the maximum drive made them bigger and more explosive, so similarly that's the case. Shieldstriker is the exception, it only gains raw power until the Maximum drive is go

C) http://kamenrider.wikia.com/wiki/Gaia_Memories look for the "Complete Selection", you have 1 of each in the briefcase.
D) Clear Memory would give you a basis in even figuring it out, Shieldstriker is an advanced piece of tech so it'd be the biggest nut to crack. Otherwise, the Clear Memory perk would allow you to produce something like the Jumper Magnum and Lost Saber without many problems, and combining the two would be only about 25-30% more difficult.
>>
>>50016012
Yeah, when Minato gets resurrected the Yin half of Kurama's chakra that he split off has regenerated into a whole second Kurama. Yin and Yang Kurama get a few teamup attacks, actually, it's kind of neat. In the end they wind up reunited inside Naruto as a single being, though. So, uh, fuck Yin Kurama's sense of identity, I guess. "You're just a gimmick power-up, you don't count as a person!"

>>50016012
There are two ways of going about it.

A. Tailed beasts simply have incredibly large amounts of chakra and possibly just get some from environment as they rest. Eventually if cut off from the chakra of world they will run out of power and disappear

Or B. High enough amounts of the chakra can start generating more of itself.

If we have Senju and Sharingan or just Sharingan and graft Senju body and chakra onto ourselves will that net us a Rinnegan without CP? Will having Uzumaki and Sharingan work considering Uzumaki are cousins of Senju?

The Actually a Ninja drawback, does it basically make any tech or item not of feudal Japan fail if we try to use it or we just lose the proper skill or coordination to use those effectively? Will slightly more high tech ninja suit, as in stealth suit, still work?

If it's anything like the PrimsBicker that it's based on, you can just leave them in their slots part of the way. Enough that they'll stick in there but not so far that they'll slot in. So then you can just give each one a little hit real fast to trigger them all in a row.

I don't think you need to steal any, the Gold and Silver Brothers have ninetail chakra due to having been eaten by the ninetails and during the two weeks while they were inside of it ate it's flesh. Those two are also actually canon.
>>
>>50016097
>There are two ways of going about it.
>A. Tailed beasts simply have incredibly large amounts of chakra and possibly just get some from environment as they rest. Eventually if cut off from the chakra of world they will run out of power and disappear

This sounds about right. I'd go with this.
You have to buy it, and no on Uzumaki.
Medieval tech only, sorry.
>>
>>50016118
You sparing them intrigues them, so they decide to follow you and see what happens. When you reach the throne room, King OOO reveals he's been completely consumed by desire, and decides to kill them as well as you. Seeing that their master has gone completely insane, they decide to join you, because you remind them of how their boss used to be.
>>
>>50016118
This smells like bait but it is a legitimate question I've heard so:
The Knights are subtly brainwashed by the revenant of the King. Defeating them snaps them out of it, and they come to the realization that the king they've served is dead. The King OOO in the scenario is not the 'actual' king any more than the revived Nobunaga is the actual Nobunaga. It's a zombie made of greed. Defeating the Knights will allow them to realize this and thus they will join you for a chance to put their fallen king's memory to rest.
>>50016128
Copies of the T2s, they only had an A to Z collection of T2 memories and this is the same with that.
>>
>>50016161
It's also canon that those two are ridiculous outlier flukes, and that everyone else who's tried to absorb a Tailed Beast's chakra like that has just died. Now, to be fair, jumpers are also outlier flukes, so it's entirely possible you'd survive it and gain the power, but that's down to what perks any individual jumper might have. You can't just assume that eating a piece of Tailed Beast will let you gain the Pseudo-Jinchuriki perk for free.
>>
>>50016184
Wait, what? I thought it was this >>50016173?
>>
>>50016208

It's also an explanation, as well? You're acting like there's only one explanation ever to what is as open ended of a plot I can do in a scenario. If either/or sounds better, go for it. The point is that the knights are loyal to their idea of the king, and the defeat allows you to open their eyes to the nature of the revived King and join you.
>>
>>50016169
On Malformed Chakra Coils, can you still use techniques that are completely internal, such as most Aburame and Kaguya stuff? Same with the most basic Sharingan/Byakugan functions?
>>
>>50016201
True, but they were said to survive due to being descended from the sage of 6 paths, and that it's not even really safe to put the ninetails inside someone who isn't an Uzumaki due to lack of compatibility.

Though personally I don't care for biju chakra anyway myself, I'm actually tempted to remove naruto from my chain because even a couple hundred jumps later I have done nothing involving anything there, not even bothered to use the shadow clone training trick.
>>
>>50016169
So wait. We can't combine Senju flesh and chakra and chakra coils like Madara?

Also, despite being "pure chakra" the tailed beasts have flesh when released. Said flesh might contain tailed beast chakra coils. Interesting.

Can tech even hurt Kaguya or does it need sage of six paths chakra to work? Speaking of, if we take MC kun can we ask Sage to offer it to a proxy or something? Because I recall you saying we don't get said chakra till jump ends of we take Actually a Ninja. Or should we run like mofos and let Naruto and Sasuke do a thing...?

Honestly letting a jumper's Actually a ninja restrictions be kinda lifted when taking MC kun and fighting Kaguya with Sage help would have been nicer. Mainly due to it being end of jump almost
>>
>>50016253
I mostly went there for the perks. Everyone fixates on the OP stuff, but there are some really nice utility things, too. Like the strategy perk that in addition to making you a great strategist also makes it so that no one can deny when you were responsible for a plan succeeding. I love that, that's great. There's also fun to be had in Naruto if you go in with the intent of taking over the protagonist role. Naruto and Sasuke's success is so dependent on destiny bullshit that it's relatively easy for someone who's competent on their own merits to plot-cuck them of every important accomplishment.
>>
>>50016268
Madara didn't combine Senju and Uchiha flesh and chakra, he combined Indra and Asura flesh and chakra. Subtle but important distinction. It's the reincarnation stuff that matters, that's why Sasuke was able to access the Rinnegan despite not having any Senju in him. As for non-Six Paths chakra harming Kaguya, it's definitely possible. Sakura and Kakashi both manage to land hits on Kaguya. Though those were still chakra-enhanced, just not Six Paths, so you still might be out of luck with no chakra at all.
>>
>>50016246
Aburame, yes, as it's just bugs responding to your orders. Most of Kaguya's stuff would be locked though. You'd still be able to harden your bones, but that's about it.
>>50016268
>So wait. We can't combine Senju flesh and chakra and chakra coils like Madara?
Nah, that's soul shenanigans alongside senju bits.
Kaguya bullshit no sells chakra. Tech would probably work just fine. Pure energy might not be able to be absorbed by her, and her bones would make her resistant to projectiles though.
MC-Kun remains to be a pain even after the plot resolves. Sauce and Naruto will continue to pick inadvisable fights and get themselves into to trouble. I'm not going to lift the most hardass drawback to make it easier.
>>50016299
Thank you! I always worry when so many pass over those. I thought some of them were quite nice.
>>
>>50016344
Ah, what happens to Sakura if we take MC-Kun?
Does she just drop out of existence, or does she become part of another team?
>>
>>50016413
You can pick. Maybe she she fails and does civilian things instead, or maybe she manages to claw her way to chunin alongside some nameless team or something.
>>
>>50016299
The non-power perks there aren't really my style, I'm not really into any of them except plot armor, and then it's just more plot armor/luck to go on the stack. I would likely use the Fuinjutsu or other things that I got, if I didn't dislike how stuff works in setting. I'm just not that fond of how everything chakra related works. So I basically used it in jump and then stopped using any of it as soon as the jump was over. My only real reason to go to the setting right now is to be known as the competent Uzumaki, and force everyone to stop being stupid. Also because using low orbit near nuclear weaponry to take out strategic point's of plot interest amuses me.
>>
>>50016344
>>50016340

Interesting. Other question. If we successfully have a bloodline implanted in us while we have "Actually a Ninja" will we receive it post jump too, it's just locked while in jump?

Could we arguably have an indicator or just something that we can use to know we did it successfully it's just dormant?

Hm. If it's Asura and Indra chakra stuff that causes Rinnegan, does it mean getting Naruto and Sasuke's chakra will do the thing?

Is there any difference between becoming Ten Tail Jinchuriki and getting Sage of Six Paths reward?
>>
>>50016344
>>50016439
>Kaguya's stuff would be locked though.
Damn.
Can you still draw Nature chakra? Oh, what about Jiongu? Or Deidara's oddly-placed mouths?
>>
>>50016460
Fair enough. If it doesn't appeal to you it doesn't appeal to you, nothing wrong with that. And hell, I agree with you on the humor of screwing with the plot. So rock on, anon.
>>
Paranoidanon time again? I petty the poor jumpmakers.
>>
>>50016481
The Ten Tails Jinchuriki has the Sharingan, Rinnegan, Byakugan, an upgraded version of the Dead Bone Pulse (the Kaguya clan bloodline) that basically turns their bone marrow into nanomachines, every elemental bloodline, and considerable regeneration on top of the things it shares with the MC-KUN/CHAN reward. It's pretty OP, there's a reason why despite having their own version of the Six Paths powers Naruto and Sasuke were unable to kill Kaguya and had to just seal her away instead.

Villain in Glasses(200): You’ve seen this kid before, probably. The guy who saves all his words for the classroom or the forums. He’s too important to bother with anyone, seeing as his parents are big names in the government. He doesn’t wanna give people the time of day normally...But you? You’re different. You’re...new. He puts a bit of that guarded trust into you. He’s wants to escape the world that burnt him and forced his parents into ordeals on a daily basis, something you've done. You’re someone he can see with a bit of awe, and that respect can get you a long way. His influence and skill at deception gives him skills with the same effectiveness as “King of the Infirmary” , “You Didn’t See Anything” and “The Great Mr. E.” However his true interest, the one he investigates into online, is the supernatural...meaning he has all the skills that are given by “She’s Into Superstitions” and amazingly enough, “The Sorceror’s Apprentice.” He must have found a legitimate site...If given the Missing Piece, he will also recieve the “Seal of Faust” item.

Nutty Professor(200): A professor from the same college Nitou was attending as a student...Wow, they’re an odd bunch then. Because she’s just as odd as Nitou himself! Her quirks manifest in very unique ways, basically the same ways as “Signature Gesture” , “Imitation is the Sincerest Form” and “Pep in your Step.” This professor specifically is intrigued in the supernatural and if emotions can have an effect on reality...but she’s also intrigued with you. You popped up and became actively involved in the strange goings on the Kamen Riders will be embroiled in, and you’re now her subject! She’s friendly, despite her strange tics, and her years of study are quite an asset. The discoveries into realm of the Supernatural have given her data and knowledge that with the right application can translate into the perks “The Scientist” and “White Science.”

Though actually, I should clarify: having the Rinnegan is a prerequisite for becoming the Ten Tails Jinchuriki in the first place, so that and the Sharingan (since the Rinnegan is upgraded Sharingan) shouldn't be included in the list of upgrades. I apologize if that came across as misleading.

>If we successfully have a bloodline implanted in us while we have "Actually a Ninja" will we receive it post jump too, it's just locked while in jump?
Implanting it would probably just kill your non chakra having ass, even if you didn't have your high-tech locked away. I'd recommend doing that when you get all your tech skills back at then end of jump.
But if it somehow worked, then yes, it'd just be dormant. Genetic markers might help you see if it was successful, but you wouldn't be able to observe the changes in your chakra, so maybe not.
Ya gotta buy it mayne. It's soul shenanigans+chakra+genetics. Madara was Indra's reincarnation. Buying it let's casually ignore the fact that it should be impossible.
Alternatively, steal someone else's rinnegan. It won't work quite as well, but it's the best way to get it working.
Ten tails looks bizarre and gives you a bunch of chakra to play with.
>>50016485
You can draw it in, but your lack of control of normal chakra would make it extremely bad for your health. Unless you had something like a cursed seal to regulate it. Then you'd be fine.

Maybe one for Wizard like the Fourze one in the last jump, where the villain "won" but it went wrong on them, so instead of the Presenters judging mankind the Phantoms are eating all hope and reproducing out of control? Yes. But tech doesn't work for you.
And yes. You have to collect the ten tails, figure out a way to seal it, and figure out a way to control it.
That 'reward' was never meant to be a reward. It was meant to make the last boss possible for you to defeat if this wasn't a late game jump for you, and you didn't have meta knowledge.

I post fairly often, but I usually forgo putting up a signature pic of some kind when I do so. I don't want to saturate the thread, so hold back unless something is related to me or my build. I also like to toss an answer or an idea out there if it makes sense and it relates to something I've done or I do.

I know I'm not going to get a ton of responses, but I don't go out my way to stir things up and when I post I try to do so in a way that's either amusing or helpful. So while more interaction would be preferred, I get that's not going to happen give where we are as a thread and who I am as a jumper.

Forgot to toss a pic out there too.

>>
>>50017136
Is it? I'm talking about the shit in the trailers that seemed like literally "bending" reality. Is that just dimension-hopping. Anyway that shit's only performed by ancient spellcasters, so I don't think it's likely to be offered for CP at least not at those levels.
>>
>>50017232
>Anyway that shit's only performed by ancient spellcasters
So, a 200cp perk at most? Worm does it better, so it shouldn't be that expensive.
>>
>>50017186
When you say marvel do you mean in terms of out right danger like how much shit goes down, or do you mean in terms of grimderp "Hulk eats people and Reed went full supervillain"? I would call it "lightheated action" for the most part, not many people die and some who do have come back already, although some moments are darker than others and yes some shit occasionally goes down like Chitaru or Phalanx show up in neighborhood, or Hydra takes over NYC, or the game master/ galactus shows up.
>>
>>50017206
Portamancy from Shadow Ops is pretty cool.
>>
>>50017266
Likely to be eaten by Galactus Marvel.
>>
>>50017206
Hero BBS has really good dimension hopping. It can take you to entire alternate worlds, not just alternate permutations of your world and/or the dimensions attached to it, like most planar travel magic in the chain can. It just can't take you to any specific setting. So no Sailor Moon, but a magical girl setting similar to it would be okay, for example.

This is a really bad idea but

Anyone know how to balance being able to run across island-continents like japan in less than 30 seconds?
>>
>>50017319
Make it unusable for combat.
>>
>>50017312
It doesn't make me wrong.
>>
>>50017291
Then kinda? Crazy shit does go down all the time but heroes mostly handle it. Galactus himself shows up in AA and Hulk Agents of S.M.A.S.H, but Spidey deals more with the game master than him.
>>
>>50017319
Can't SuperSonic already do that? I mean, Mach 50 is insane.
>>
>>50017333
Well, the hero actually fights at this speed too, since the timer goes on during a fight too
Maybe I can make it a 600/discount for heroes, yeah? Goes up when time limits are low. Starts off with a brisk pace and then ridiculous cartoonish speed when stakes as high as the literal apocalypse are on the line and you have 30 seconds
>>
>>50017319
Think of what Red would do. Then do the exact opposite. You will balance it this way.
>>
>>50017319
That's about 114 kilometers per second. That's only 500 times the speed of sound, or so. Okay, fine, so that actually is pretty fast. Maybe have there be some sort of inertia-damping field around you and so that collisions don't let you impart megatons worth of energy to targets? And have the effect persist for a time for anything that leaves the field, so you can't get around it by throwing things? Of course, it depends on the setting, maybe that sort of collision would be balanced, there. What is this going to be for?
>>
A spell that ends the world in 30 seconds too...
or a drawback where you have to put yourself on a 30 second timer to build for the jump and if not you keep whatever you built when the clock hits zero~
>>
>>50017319

>>50017401

>>
>>50017166
I'm sure that it started early this year.

>>50017158
Yeah, dimension hopping. Like going from a mirror dimension separated from the real one to our normal dimension and travelling around the world.

>>50017232
It's literally entry-level.

All the mooks can do it and Strange learns to do it in his first lessons.

Also, as >>50017256 says, there are lots of other dimension hopping abilities spread through the chain. Is not really that special.

And might be useful when your enemy has this ability and can trap you into a weird mirror dimension of their own creation. Not counting defending from extradimensional creatures.

But as I said, magic in MCU is basically Will Working. Just hit a school and learn it.

>>
>>50017436
Then how do you propose boosting the other perks up to par without bringing them to non-canon levels? There's no need when you can just nip the one perk in the bud.
>>
>>50017428
It would be pretty amusing if every single jump had a 0 CP option for out of context omnipotence.
>>
>>50017436
They're assuming that there wouldn't be other things comparable to that level of speed, in canon, so you'd need to invent non-canon things for it if you were trying to make the other perks on that level. But up until this post >>50017442, which came after, we had no idea what sort of things would be in the setting because we didn't know what the setting was, so they're making a big assumption.
>>
>>50017206
>Portamancy (Shadow Ops)
>Magic around level 8, equivalent to 200 years of study (Hero BBS)
>Doormaker (Worm)
>Portal Gun (Rick and Morty)

>Stands might be able to do it
>>
>>50017422
How can you shit on someone when they've brought themselves to that level to begin with? It's not like the guy's lying, trying to frame entry-level stuff as capstones is wrong and MCU is nothing special compared to other settings. So the sooner we all stop treating it like that, the sooner we'll get a better jump.

Trademark Outfit [Free/100] – You receive a stylish outfit like the locals here do, which is just your size and looks really good on you. The outfit is tailored to your tastes and won’t impede your movement at all, though it won’t have any magical or other special qualities to it. You can also ‘wear’ this outfit over any equipment and armor, making it look like you’re still wearing a fancy dress instead of trying to shove a fancy dress over a heavy suit of armor. Doesn’t change the weight or how much you can actually fit on yourself, though, and is purely aesthetic. Can have a minor color or aesthetic change to reflect alternate equipment or forms you’re using. For 100 points, you can apply this ‘layer’ quality over any outfit you own.

Starting Weapon [Free/100] – You receive an amazingly basic weapon for any of your chosen Features. If you’ve chosen no Features that involve a particular weapon, choose a single mundane melee or ranged weapon of your choice. Magic-users may receive staffs, as well. For an extra 100, you instead receive a slightly better starting weapon, but the primary benefit to it is that you can give it any sort of neat-looking aesthetic of your choosing so long as its function doesn’t change, or give it any special properties.

>>50017540
Well, I walked right into that one.

>>50017556
Eh, that's true. The art does kind of resemble FF, though. The actual game, on the other hand.
>>
>>50017517
Yes, it's an alternate dimension. It's a dimension that magicians use to practice or fight without fucking up the world. As well as caging dangerous foes. Other dimensions like the Dark Dimension (where the real BBEG lives) are harder to access because there is a planetary shield that protects our world from accessing dangerous places.

To access that dimension you just need to cast the spell. To dimension hop you need a special item (a ring) and learn how to do the spell. But without the item you can't create the portals.

This is used to try to trap the main villain once in the movie.

>>50017592
>So turn your trip back on.

Analytics (750) - More situational awareness!
Focus (450) - More time slow!

Biocapacitor (Free) - Yay for stored power!
Expanded Space Bag (350) - Hammerspace is always a good thing to have.
Bioconverter (150) - Sunlight into energy, for when I don't have a TV screen handy.
Hypervisor (50) - Cause tactical awareness is something always needed.
Light Body Armor (0) - Not like I need this, but it would probably come in handy for one of the others.

I sat back in the leather chair of the office in my mansion on the moon. I had just signed another “trade deal” - usually just me giving them free tech - with the United Nations, but this time, I had asked for a couple things in return. All their information on the global phenomenon known as Conduits, and a meeting with Delsin Rowe, who had become a Conduit's rights activist. I had just finished reading the former, and yet I was even more curious about the Conduit phenomena. Conduits first appeared after the Ray Sphere explosion, with one of the first known cases being Cole Macgrath. But not all Conduits could have originated from the Empire City incident.

Considering the spread and population around the globe, there were Conduits that had not been in the Empire City Ray Sphere explosion, or the New Mirais Ray Sphere explosion, but still had their powers. Possibly a form of radiation emitted into the atmosphere after the repeated explosions? And the sheer spread of powers is amazing, from the ability to control plants, to the ability to control concrete. There was seemingly no reason for how these powers manifested either.

Man, this is just so exciting. If I could just figure out how this gene worked, I would be able to help so many in so many other dimensions. ...Hmm, I would need to study some up close. Try and verify some of these facts without contamination. Good thing I've one of the strongest Conduits ever coming over in a few hours. It'll be so interesting seeing how all those other powers interact.
