Chads are the best nigga. Make friends with them and learn how to be a chad yourself.

It's a mutualism parasitism
>>
>>49925773
Chads aren't assholes, because they don't need to be. If you hang out with Chads often enough, you find out that they have very little to be insecure about, and they are able to just sit down and talk to people. They aren't Chads simply because they're swole and attractive, they're Chads because they are all that and socially intelligent. They are good at making and keeping friends, and you'd be a fool not to take advantage of this by being their friend.
>>
>>49925773
One of my players and best friend is a chad. He's cool, bit of a munchkin but otherwise a good roleplayer. Puts a lot of effort into his backstory and character, more than most.

As a "Chad" who got turned onto pen and paper by a nerdy friend of mine, I can say that all of these dues are right.

I mean, fuck, I don't know a single friend that hasn't played Madden, CoD, Fifa, of Battlefield. It's not like just because we play sports that we suddenly won't be interested in video games. That's our dads' generation. There's plenty of ways to convince "normal" people to join gaming -- even tabletop.

For me, my uncle had always assembled model airplanes with me when I was a kid. One of my nerdier friends saw that -- showed me his Warhammer stuff; how he assembles and paints it. Many "Chads" have the same hobbies and interests as you (I'd read Lord of the Rings in middle school). We just have other shit to distract us. You show us something cool and new, and tell us how we can win, and we'll be happy to play.

Recently got me to play Call of Cthulhu, which I thought was going to be lame as fuck, but the whole "solve a mystery" thing actually ended up being super fun.

Dungeons and Dragons with its dragon people and crystal people and half-demons is still gay as fuck, though.

I'm the chad in my group

I DM 5th ed, I ran two Dark Hersey campaigns, and I paint my friends armies for 40k/warmachines. I also build some dank terrain mate.

Being a chad isnt bad.

However the HP Dwarf Barbarian build in my last campign is derp as fuck and retarded and goddammit why won't you die to conventional means I'm trying to have a dungeon crawl and this kid has double the health of our actual fighter

>>49926332
Geode people. They're people made out of living crystal. I didn't stick around long enough to learn what they're called -- just that someone was trying to convince me to join a game and that was part of their pitch.

Maybe it comes with the whole "Chad"ness (though I'm not about to speak for others), but I've never been much of a High Fantasy man.
>>
He was a funny, friendly, charismatic guy with some autistic interests
>>
>>49925773
I could say I'm a bit of a Chad.
I eat right, know how to party, stay fit and socialize.

I can also minmax and optimize a warlock into melting a fire-immune dragon with hellfire before sucking his soul dry to feed my eldritch powers.
>>
>>49926105
Chad isn't a badguy

Most bullies are Brads and Mikes who thinking attacking Eugene will make them look like Chad in comparison
>>
How do all these Chads find the time to be both a Chad and a fa/tg/uy?
>>
>>49926510
The worst bullies, in my experience, are those who fall somewhere in the spectrum of "Nerd" but who think they can put themselves above the other nerds by bullying them.

"Look at me! I'm bullying this nerd! that means I can't be a nerd, I've gotta be one of the popular people."

It's the ethos of poor whites in the South who feared the end of slavery not because they owned slaves, but because they wouldn't have an automatic step up on blacks.
>>
>>49926612
do chad stuff during the week
be a fa/tg/uy during the weekend
I dont do 40k or miniature shit tho so I dont have to worry about painting or assembling anything,
>>
>>49926349

You're probably a weeb
>>
>>49925773
He was actually a fairly nice guy, though he couldn't keep up with the game after a few sessions. Just wanted to be an alchemist and make stuff, even if he wasn't much of a roleplayer or even a rollplayer. I kept a tanglefoot bag he gave me for the rest of the campaign.
>>
I'm chad.

It goes good.

We're all dudes, talk about dude stuff, have laughs and kill dragons.

Worst I've had is a guy ragging on me for being a jock and how he hates people like me but we were both man enough to just put the differences behind us.

I've honestly seen a lot more problems with Dexters than Chads. Dexters tend to be nit picking, insufferable, disagreeable and prone to outbursts when then don't get there own way.

168 hours in a week, my man.
I manage a biochemistry laboratory, workout twice a day, spend the weekend with my gf, or slaying clunge if I'm single. Either way, drinking, clubbing, partying, drugs are likely involved.
I spend too much money on clothes.
Still manage to DM DnD 5e and DH 2e alternating weeks. I provide snacks for my players but don't eat them.
Still do some warhammer painting but don't get to play too often.

I've never heard of a "Chad" from the sound of this thread, it might be me.

>>
>>49925773
No one considers themselves to be a total fucking loser, or at least most people don't.

I consider myself to be a "Chad" at least compared to the majority of those in the tabletop community. That doesn't make it true, but it helps me sleep at night. I think it's important to have a good self esteem. Everyone has great qualities. I really resent the idea of organizing things into a hierarchy though. Everyone has shades of Chad.

>>49926179
I bet you're 4 feet tall.
>>

>>
>>49926978

>>
>>49926332
I believe he's talking about Shardminds, the race designed for the Psychic class in 4e. They're the shattered pieces of some kind of extra space doorway that was destroyed.

Yeah, and you say Dragonborn and Tiefling are the dumb edgy shit in D&D, you haven't seen shit til you look at the expanded 4e races. There's literally a race made out of fucking spikes from a hell dimension, the definition of edge, keep that in perspective next time you wanna whine about Aasimar or Changelings or something.
>>
>>49927398
If 5e can make you a DBZ character by introducing a new Monk archetype, I can handle Dragonborn, Tieflings and Aasimar.

>>
>>49927496

I'm biased, though. I came to fantasy by way of reading pulp stories like Conan. That's pretty low fantasy. That and Tolkien. So, even elves seem kinda fruity to me.

>>49927522
eh, her bf recently left for another uni and while they skype every other day I'm sure she misses much more than his face
>>
>>49927585

>>
>>49927660
she's never been shy about her sexuality and only seduces npcs, dunno guess it doesnt bother me since i've always been her friend
>>

Pretty well, a lot of these folks are good-natured and tend to be team players, especially if they play/played sports.

>>49926113
>>49926179
If you're an insecure piece of shit who's trying to validate his self-worth by claiming to be a 'chad' to people you perceive as worthless: Fucking kill yourself, you waste of human space.

If you're giving an honest self-assertion and are a legitimately charismatic, well-liked and well-above-average social individual with both interest and a high level of skill at some mainstream sports; Either get serious about the hobby or fuck off. No one needs or wants the sort of casual 'lol can I just beat him in a really epic way? you decide it dude idk' type of bullshit that slowly corrupts and dumbs down a hobby. The entirety of TTRPGs are autistic as all hell with their intense rules and attention to detail and extensive lore, and that's exactly how I want them to stay. Mainstream appeal is a tumor on the body of any fun activity.

I'm pretty much the chad at my table. I've been inside half the girls in the group, the primary DM doesn't even know.
>>
>>49927967
The tabletop industry is doing just damn well fine and the notion that if we don't allow it to be dumbed down to the lowest common denominator to appeal to barely interested social-activity cuntnuggets it will die is ludicrous. Hasbro will not be buying out a niche activity enjoyed by serious historical autists, but they will buy out one that's got a growing common appeal and is being steadily made simpler and stupider to sell more.

Shit, man. I agree with that. Insecure teachers were fucking awful to the kids they didn't like. Girl I dated in high school was a straight-A student, but she was pretty and didn't take notes, so our history teacher took her aside and told her he "knew her type" and that she would never amount to anything unless she applied herself.

I'm way above their level, though. I'm quite physically attractive, funny, charming, and use humor to diffuse tension in awkward social situations instead of spilling spaghetti everywhere.

But you're still right, I'll probably have to settle because I've literally never found anyone I like enough to date so it's not looking good for me. I'm on the fast track to the female equivalent of wizardhood for sure.

>>49928207
I admire your strength of will, anon. I don't know if I'd be able to do it myself because my parents were divorced since I was 1 and my dad was a complete dick to every woman he dated (because he was a dick in general) so now I think I just unfairly associate single dads with being terrible.

Also, thank you for being a good stepmom. It takes a truly good person to be a good step parent, and you've probably made a big positive impact in the life of your stepdaughter.

Then blame your unrealistic and ridiculously high standards. I refuse to believe you don't even get people interested in one night flings if you are so good as you say you are. Nerds settle for much less because of how thirsty they are.

Seriously though, I'm not saying you should settle for the first greasy fat nerd you see next time but you should also realize that finding someone as hot as Chris Hemsworth who'll also be into all your nerd shit is borderline impossible. Lower your standards a little more, that people are always expecting and think they are entitled to super duper hollywood-tier rich hotties who also miraculously share all your tastes on everything is one of the many reasons relationships are so fucked nowadays.
>>
>>49928513
Well, you don't need to worry about Wizardry. Just go to a bar, get drunk, and go home with someone. However, if you mean the "female equivalent of wizardhood" in that you need a relationship to go along with the cherry-popping... well, there's no amount of advice that can really help with that other than the gal who said suppress everything about yourself.

Watch Clone High's final episode where Joan of Arc tries to be a vapid slut.
>>
>>49928349
Aight lady. It sounds like what you want is to be one-upped.

I don't just use humor to diffuse tension in awkward social situations. I was Prom King in high school and am being fast-tracked to management in a Fortune 500. Since funny, charming, and using humor are all part of the same idea (so you just managed to repeat one tepid quality three times), I'm going to give you more. I did three college degrees in four years. I'm successful and make fat stacks.

Now give me that sweet, sweet boipucci because I'm pretty sure you're some sweaty nerd who gets off to RPing a stuck-up Stacy on Albanian knitting forums.

If not, go fuck yourself and lower your standards. Go fishing in an Ivy League or Bay Area startup. Are you telling me that a young buck on the way to the top in Law/future Megacorp/Consultancy/Finance/current Megacorp who shares your nerdy habits is not good enough for you? Ultra-cost dating services and sugar daddy sites would not exist if there was no demand. As the French say, if you want to be the general's wife, you have to date a lieutenant.

There are gold diggers out there bitching about how their beau only plays D&D and talks about synergisting the futuristic mergeronomy into refactored efficiency and here you are. If you really enjoy nerdy hobbies, and you're as great as you think you are, you could make some rich nob very happy.

tl;dr ROASTIES REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
STACY GET OUT

> MFW I'm the only kid to refuse that sweet trust fund money

I live like a goddamn animal. I just work, read, and have a house with no wall hanging shit like paintings or knick-knacks, it's straight up fucking books.

I sleep in a hammock so that I can have less stuff in my little basement suite. I don't own a table. I have two chairs, 4 bowls, plates, silverware sets, and water cups, 2 coffee cups and 2 tea cups. I do have a full espresso/latte bar and a wet bar (surprisingly super easy to set up.)

I work a night-shift job 3 days a week that makes $70,000 a year, spend a shit-ton on clothes that I take poor care of and end up tossing or donating after a couple of months. Usually I go out and do blow Thursday/Friday, sleep all day Saturday, and do chores and cook and read all day Sunday - in addition to going home and reading after doing blow Thursday for a couple of hours while coming down. I've never dated for more than a year, or lived with a SO.

I'm probably massively depressed. Just nothing seems to make me happy so I don't really value anything. Coke is alright I guess, but I mostly like it because it makes me social.

Of course there are people interested in one night flings. I'm just really not interested in that, I'd like to find someone I like enough as a person and am sexually attracted to in order to date them. I've had crushes on guys I know a couple times but it never worked out because before dating them I saw both times they had some pretty huge issues which would make it a bad idea to pursue a relationship with them.

Once I was even tempted to date this guy just because we were good friends and I enjoyed talking to him and he was obviously interested in me but I felt no desire towards him whatsoever. But I felt like pity dating someone would just be messy and thought it best to just stop talking to him so I wouldn't make him feel bad anymore.

>>49928566
I really hope it doesn't get to the point where just fucking someone and then leaving would make me feel better than being alone. If I can't find a nice relationship I think I'd rather just learn to be happy alone.

>>49928614
You have some good advice, anon. unfortunately I go to an ivy league school and the boy/girl ratio here sucks. There are a lot of cute girls here and there is always a girl willing to put out for all but the most autistic and/or hideous ones. how can I compete with a girl just willing to fuck when I want a relationship? Most of the guys I play with normally have girlfriends, too.

I've been trying to put myself out there more and meet more people recently, but parties aren't really my thing because I don't enjoy drinking or super loud music. So it's hard to meet people. I'll keep trying, though. Maybe I'll learn to enjoy booze.

Obviously I'm going to play up shit when I'm making a point. Fast-tracked into management means 5-6 years. And then from there, you have to start over to climb into senior management. By then, I'll be in my 30s at the very least. Even then, because the org is so massive, you have to fight again to be one of the real human beans named on the website. But if you do that, then you get to make 7 figures. The dream, man.

But even now, I'm making more than 99% of people my age. And even if I do nothing my whole life but vegetate and shitpost, I'll still make more than 2/3rds of households. And I am not unreasonably successful for the kind of background I have. I definitely know many people doing better than me, and some doing somewhat worse. Like half of the dudes in my class aren't settled down yet. Every day, there are threads on here about some anons going to an Ivy, or picking up some nice law/medical/programming/engineering/finance/whatever job. I know one of my colleagues goes to 4chan. We've talked about it. He's single.

S'not hard. Drive down to your local prestige uni and visit the /tg/ club. Ez.

Hey, I started out poor. In a first world country though, so that counts for a lot.

Went and worked retail for a year and decided that sucked, worked in a lumber mill until I noticed everyone was missing a body-part, then went and worked in Northern Canada oilfield to pay for school, quit, went back to school for sleep medicine technologist, and then just kind of got comfortable.

I pretty much am not motivated by anything except necessity.

Just keep fucking dating until you find someone. Join all the nerd clubs. I can absolutely guarantee you you'll find someone. And, again, since they're at an Ivy, they are probably reasonably normal and destined for at least a modicum of success.

Like this guy. What was wrong with him?

Have you felt physical attraction to anyone there? Look, despite the hookup meme, a survey by the Harvard Crimson showed that most students were sexually prudish and relationship minded. Don't let the media memes get to you. Those lads are the dregs of any school anyways. They're even dumber than the MBAs, and a lot less fun to hang out with.

Well, we're all in our 30's so we've "streamlined" the process as it were.

It would most likely drive anyone insane to try and play with us, after 15 years we're pretty sure we just wing shit half the time, and roll to get a general idea if we succeeded or not.

Also we all did a shit-ton of drugs when we were young, so we'll do half a gram all night long in bumps instead of doing bigass hollywood lines with a bunch of randos in the bathroom or someones car. It's the stupidest thing I've ever said, but we actually ARE responsible cocaine users.

Goddamn, I actually am there for it and I don't fully believe it.

Cocaine and world-building, by the way, is fucking AWESOME.

Hey, my grandma was an MBA here. But yeah I guess they're pretty dumb when I sit down and think about all the ones I've met.

I'm not really "in" the dating pool because I've literally never even kissed anyone before, and I don't think I've even gone out on a real date ever. At least not one where both parties involved thought of it as such.

As for that guy, the only things I thought were "wrong" with him were that 1. he was pretty autistic, 2. I don't think our energy levels or ideas about life matched up very well, and 3. I just didn't feel romantically or sexually attracted to him. As for having felt physical attraction towards anyone in the past, I definitely have, but I just don't know what to do about it, or how to get to know someone, maybe.

I mean obviously I'm doing something wrong if I'm cute and semi-normal but am 23 and have never kissed anyone or been on a date, so now I think I might just be scared and have little experience compared to my peers, so I've been trying to reevaluate recently.

I was sick for 2 years in high school and I took some time off before college to get better, then another year off to really finish getting healthy, so I spent a lot of time alone in my house when other people were practicing this shit so that might explain some of it.

Most of my group are military, martial artists, or both, and everyone lifts.

We try to be accepting of more stereotypical nerds but almost every time we let one join they eventually either get extremely insecure and feel inadequate and end up leaving or being removed for acting like passive aggressive envious cunts.

We did manage to get both a pretty frail stick thin girl and a slightly overweight guy to work out, took them shooting, and help socially adjust them so I feel good about that.

This girl was gay:

Genuine question from a rather sexually inexperienced dude:

How the hell can some one not know they're sexual preferences? Why do I always hear "I had no idea I was gay" shit like that from chicks?

It doesn't make sense to me.
>>
>>49929524
Closet cases (of both sexes) can have major denial complexes going on.
>>
I've worked with other humans for years, fitness and social intelligence are completely unrelated to each-other. Also most sociopaths will not openly broadcast their desire to hurt or take advantage of others. In fact, it's why a lot of them like rpgs. They can set up complex win-win situations and practice manipulating people in what you'd call a real-world environment.

>>49926790
They're little girls, anon. You should know that by now.
>>
>>49929534
But how?

I have a lot of /d/ fetishes.

I've never once looked at those, had my dick get hard, and thought "Uhm, well, somebody must have slipped viagra in my mountain dew! S-surely that's all!"
>>
>>49929490
I've already considered it a lot. But I've never felt sexually or romantically attracted to a woman before in sprite of most of the people I interact with being women, and I've been convinced I was completely in love with two men before (finally understanding why people write so many songs about love, having lewd dreams and daydreaming about having babies together and everything) so while I guess there is a possibility that I could be gay I really really don't feel like I am. I almost wish I was because there are a lot of thirsty lesbians here. But I really don't think I would enjoy a romantic relationship with a woman. They're kind of vicious cunts.
>>
>>49929593
So, not everyone browses /d/ right? When did you realise you were into your weirder fetishes? There had to be a first time you saw something that turned you on and until that point you didn't realise you were turned on by it, yeah?

For some people they get wound up in doublethink where they just think spending time with their guy friends/girl friends is way better naturally, and nobody REALLY likes the opposite sex they date, and it's not until they're actually on a date with or even kissing another guy/another girl that they get the realisation "Shit, this should have been the thing all along". It likely won't come as a surprise to anyone that knows them well, but it'll be a surprise for them.
>>
>>49929611
Fair enough.
>But I really don't think I would enjoy a romantic relationship with a woman. They're kind of vicious cunts.
This attitude is is lol, and unlikely to profit you much in the future. No more and no less than men IMO, as adults, albeit I'm sure your 2 years of sickness in HS exposed you to some mean shit.
>>
>>49929630
You're right about that last part. And you're also right that both men and women have the capacity to be extremely vicious emotionally, but the ways they do it are really different. the way women often do it is more hurtful to me personally because women make it more of a reflection on who they're hurting, whereas when men hurt people it's usually obvious that it's their own problem and not a reflection on you.

Once again this is only usually and I've seen both men and women do both of these behaviors.

A couple. Pretty rad really, most Chad-types are fuckin great as long as you don't go into meeting them like it was high school Nerds VS Jocks bullshit that doesn't even fucking happen 90% of the time.

Honestly as the party (and my entire social circle) daywalker, I find the more normie friends and groups I know are a lot more accepting of my nerdy shit than my nerdier friends are of my more normalfag traits.

The former group seems to be my friend in part because of my weird traits that set me apart from their standards, while my latter group seems to be my friend in spite of them, if that makes any sense.

I dont know if its a beazillian thing, but there was never a division between nerds and chads. We have a Chad at our wahammer Fantasy/40k/bloodbowl group. In 40k he plays Blood Angels and Dark Eldars and in Bloodbowl his Norse team mirrors a real footbal team (He even fired a lvl 3 ulfwerner because his real life counterpart left the team)

Well, here's to working out your issues because if what you're saying is true the problem is most def your issues. I'd strongly recommend trying to arrange some stuff on online: it can be a disaster, you can hate the guy, but you should try going on a few dates where the stakes are low and both of you are completely aware it's a date. You sound like you might be thinking along these lines already when you mention reevaluating things.

Hell, if you were anywhere near me I'd take you out just to show you a good time, and maybe a little that girls aren't so bad to date.

By the time they are dead and we inherit that money it will have compounded to around 50 million. 20 years from now when I am in my 40's I am gonna retire, live off the residuals of the inheritance, let it compound, and shit post.

Why the fuck do you know enough about D&D lore to know Bladelings aren't a 4e invention?
More to the point, even if they aren't, why the fuck would you make them a player race besides being so edgy you'd have to be self aware to even touch it?

Point stands they're still a bigger mark of stupid bullshit than Tieflings will ever be.

no we dont have chads in london apparently

sporty types are lower on the social ladder than people who play fantasy games here

you get rugby lads but they aren't exactly popular with girls and neither are they very intimidating compared to the stereotype of american jocks

played 5e with one Saturday. He's buddies with most of the group to begin with. I just met him.

played a Dragonborn Barbarian with a battle axe. no complaints.

he said he loved it and now we have a 5th player.

>you get rugby lads but they aren't exactly popular with girls
>>
>>49939777
what? its true they are just average like everyone else

the people who are most popular with girls are black roadman types who wear EA7 trackies (lol) and those weird self proclaimed socialists/corbynites that study english lit and have extensive biographies on tinder

i guess rugby lads have a better chance than fat people because they are at least somewhat athletic
>>

>It's not like just because we play sports that we suddenly won't be interested in video games.
Moreso, chads have a lot of hobbies that fa/tg/uys would consider crunch heavy. It's normally dressed up as sport but fantasy football, Football Manager and so on are both metagame aware, crunch heavy stat-analysis games. Hell I've taught one chad to play Magic and he near instantly became one of the best technical players I know.

>>
>>49939917
yeah they look ok but these guys spend half of their stacks on a pair of trousers and stunt like they are rich lol its a status thing with gangs and shit

obviously its spilled over into mainstream culture too now via the drill music in south london that has blown up in the past few years
>>
>>49940096
>>49939917
That's not a British thing - we call that "hood rich" in the states
>>
>>49940173
yeah of course people stunt all over the globe lol i just think the whole sportswear thing is british compared to americans wearing jeans and baggy t shirts/jerseys etc. i suppose basketball shit is sportswear but its not really the same here

its just evolved into wearing expensive clothes whereas back in the early 00's when grime was the gang music instead of drill people didn't really care about expensive clothes and wore whatever they wanted (which is ironic bc now people are copying that style but with so called luxury brands)

Our Chad was the DM. Cool guy, ran a game where we each got a single item of artifact power and used them to fight a corrupt magocracy while also struggling to not be consumed by the power of our items.

I got a prosthetic ruby arm with enhanced claw attacks and fiery crits on a 15+. Eventually took a silver arm with lightning crits from a guy on the other side.

Hi ;)

Seriously though, finding a gay, not faggy, nerdy but not autistic guy with other interests to balance it all out is already basically impossible. And that's not even accounting for the biggest problem in fa/tg/uys, biggest being their penchant for being big and fat.

So to answer your question, not great...

Are American schools really as divided up as they're portrayed in movies and series? Because that's fucking sad if it is. I went to school just outside cape town and everyone did everything, at least once. I played D&D with a bunch of guys from the soccer team.
>>
>>49970782
In my school shit was pretty un cliquish. Nobody seemed to hate each other, I mean yeah the "Gifted Special Ed" transplant kids like me from out of town didn't interact TOO much with the rest of the class but when we did nobody was rude to anyone. (Hell we were probably the most cliquish people to be honest, getting mildly annoyed when the mainstream kids went to the bottom floor and took up the spaces we sat around on waiting for the teachers to get in and unlock the classroom)
