The problem with these sorts of 'live through time' cyoas is that you're bound to fuck up history at some point and totally change everything that happened. Things like The First World war could be prevented accidentally
>>

How is that a problem?

>>
>>49744112
Then don't interfere with history and just be a spectator. It isn't hard.
>>
Just wondering, do you guys think /tg/ should become a nsfw board?

It'd be nice as it'd encourage people to make hot cyoas more, and the other threads would benefit too, erp etc
>>
>>49744136

I think all boards should be NSFW. Naturally this means /wsg/ and /wsr/ have to go, but it's something I can live with. People shouldn't browse 4chan at work anyway.

Also wouldn't hurt my feelings if mobile access was denied so people could only browse and post on a computer.
>>
>>49744128
That isn't as easy as you think nigga.

Let's say you're getting robbed, and you kill your robber. You've just permanently changed him and his 2000 descendants' history.
>>
>>49744136
I think it'd be better to put the ERP somewhere else. We don't want the furrypocalypse again. /d/ would be a better place for the lewd stuff, especially since it has a decent CYOA community already.

Why? Seriously, Why?

I got stuck in an airport for 5 fucking hours, was I supposed to browse Reddit?
>>

Friend, the absolute last thing I want to see is people ERP-ing with their builds.

If you want to make explicitly pornographic CYOA's, just go to /d/. There isn't even much of a reason to splatter dicks and vajayjays over a CYOA, and those that do hardly stand up to scrutiny after making a build to blow a load on.

They called me a pervert when I spied on them. They said I would never attain anything of worth. But they shall soon see. They'll see when most of the world's men are transformed against their will. We'll see who's the pervert when I am one of the 1% of people that can help repopulate the world.

And if they complain about my abuse of power, a little force will change their tune. Let's see how quickly they'll come running back when I take their medicine and become the only one who can heal them. Let's see them try to fight back when my golem army decimates them.

In the end, the wizard police shall show up. Yet I am not afraid; I have been training for years, and have a small army under my wing. Let's see them try and stop me.

I dunno what fantasy world you lived in, but things have been pretty shit on the internet since I started delving into it in the late 90's. It's just a more banal kind of shit due to the vast presence of regular people on reddit and shit. And the fact that national news is running stories on asinine memery is more a flaw on their part than it is on the internet's. News has been going to shit long before the internet was birthed.

Some research you managed!
>>
>>49744444
What ruined the internet isn't smartphones it was social media sites like myspace, facebook, reddit and twitter, that forced clickbait culture down everyone's throats and congealed all the internet's content into a bland and soulless commercial narratives that even a potato can digest, reblog and parrot across all other media channels for likes, karma and (you)s for instant E-fame and popularity without doing anything.

Back in the day internet content was more disjointed, if you want to discuss about politics you had to register into a forum that discussed politics, you wanted to watch and/or make flash animation? You had to go to Newgrounds or fucking Ebaum's world for that shit, so on and so forth and because those communities tend to be small, close knit and populated by compulsive obsessive nerds and enthusiasts, you had alot more thought provoking and meaningful discussion happening. Not to say that drama and shitposting didn't happen it just happened less frequently than now that every idiot has to voice their asinine opinion and be properly validated for them. It was a simpler and more strait forward time.

devil-mother (inexperienced demon) , depraved angel, magical, forbidden love.

that's gonna be funny.

I didn't see that as a problem, I loved putting random search words in ask jeeves and yahoo before google was a thing and see what kind random content would pop up that didn't even correlate with what I had in mind, I felt that the few tools and information that was available at that time was far more liberating, that provoked people to explore and discovery shit for themselves. Hell one of the things me and my friends did back in the day was search for free rom downloading sites and we shared them with each other. As well as fucking around with the rom files themselves for shit and giggles.

>with devil mother do i pick on that row twice?
Devil mother and the devil sister are separate entities. Unless you pick one of the non-devil-mother options from the devil column, the devil sister will be some manner of generic demon girl. Devil mother will behave as listed in her entry.

Not the author, but it looks pretty clear to me that this is how it goes.

Could a Nazi of any stripe be allowed into the Travellers? I know the Travellers don't have the luxury of being picky, but I don't expect many to play nice with one.

>I think I started feeling this way thanks to cyoas actually, so it's only been around for between a year and two.
they won't have made you think that way, just given you ideas that worked with your existing personality. if you hadn't had the personality for them, they would have done nothing for you and you'd have picked up normal sexuality from normal places instead.

>>49744887
>There's nothing positive associated with what I want and like.
how is it any worse than any sexuality, besides the social issue of gender roles telling you it's only for girls?

>>

>I've just doomed myself, haven't I?
Yes. You doomed yourself into redoing your build because you mistakenly picked once per COLUMN instead of ROW, as was intended.

>>49745038
When the author said they meant "column", they weren't directly referring to the CYOA.
>>
>>49744188
>especially since it has a decent CYOA community already.
>>49744933
>when /d/ has a healthy community
That's bullshit though. Which is why you can't answer the question.
>>
>>49745056
>When the author said they meant "column", they weren't directly referring to the CYOA.

I'm pretty sure he said rows for the cyoa, i.e y axis. Anons in the original thread originally interpreted it as x axis, which is why the maker had to clear things up in the first place.
>>
>>49745054
>how is it any worse than any sexuality, besides the social issue of gender roles telling you it's only for girls?
I don't know… I don't know why I think like I do.
Now I really have to try to sleep, it's 3 am. Thank you for talking.
>>
>>49745037
Dude someone submitted a fucking Rommel build and it got in, there's commies, anarchists, Religious fanatics and racial supremacists. He just needs to be a nazi that can function in the Traveller environment.
>>
>>49745037
Maybe not our realities Nazi's but a different one maybe. A reality with Nazis that still had heavy nationalism but not the racism and other things that caused the Holocaust could work for a character. I suspect Highlander would not officially put such a character in the official builds though, for pandora's box reasons.
>>
>>49745037
Highlander will accept just about anything - up to and including Mary Sues. However, keep in mind that, should you overstep your boundaries (I.E. make a super main character protagonist), your character may be used more as an ill-fated plot device by Highlander than anything else.

However, the vast majority of people are being put into the Allies tab; if your build is strong enough, it may be a Panic Button (Two of which I can remember since 1.15 was released include Jacket and the guy from Hatred).
>>
>>49745037
>Nazis are literally evil incarnate

Oh fucking please.
>>
>>49745114
Have you even been over there?

Look, if people want to ERP, I don't care if they organize it in whatever thread, I just don't want to read it. They can fuck off to a discord chat or IRC or some shit like that where the rest of us don't have to read it. Besides I don't think RPing really has that much place in the CYOA thread itself past making builds and such.
>>
>>49745115
Nope, anons in the original thread kept going "lol it probably meant columns". The author made (or tried to make) it very clear that it's supposed to be rows, not columns.
>>
>>49745179
>I just don't want to read it.
I promise not to chain you to a chair and hold your eyes open while scrolling through ero threads.

>Besides I don't think RPing really has that much place in the CYOA thread itself past making builds and such.
Who died and made you king?
>>
>>49745181
When I say columns, I mean going top to bottom buy only choosing one. A row goes from left to right. Can we just clear up some terms?
>>
>>49745178
Nazis are a form of evil. Not the totality of the concept, but an incarnation of it. There are many varieties of statism.
>>
>>49745201
And who decided that you should dictate that we should have ERP in our CYOA threads?
>>
>>49745203
The CYOA has four rows, each row has four options from four distinctly themed columns. You are supposed to pick once per row. Yes, that does mean you can pick all the options from one column.
>>
>>49745223
Well in fairness commies, transhumanists and anarchos both get covenants.

>>49745178
Not that, but remember one of the origins is literally a Jew get de-Jewed for Jewry. It could hypothetically be a tension point for some.

Was the Nazi reigme bad? Well it killed at lot of people but it wasnt responsible for WW2. The Soviets and the chinese even today are much bloodier. The US even put Japanese into camps, much like the Nazis did with the Jews.

I just get tired of Hitler being made out to be the most evil person ever. He really wasnt and Nazism by itself is not really evil. Nazi means NatSoc, national socialism.
>>
>>49745201
Not that anon but its generally a bad idea to eat where you shit.
>>
>>49745114
>Which is why you can't answer the question.

You mean "What's the point of CYOAs if not to have a fantasy?" It looked more like a rhetorical question, but my answer is "sexual fantasy and imagination adventures are two very different things".

It looks like you're complaining that you have to go to /d/ to get your dick wet. I understand, but think you're dying on the wrong hill here.

>>49745287
I wasn't trying to say "Nazzies r evl", but more that the stigmata attached to them might not mesh well with other Travellers and cause unnecessary troubles.
>>
>>49745223
The majority were regular john doe's that lived their life. They had people they loved and cared about, activities they enjoyed doing, and dreams they hoped to one day fulfill. Not to downplay any of the shit that happened because jesus that's going to be studied for centuries to come. Just that the individuals that comprised the whole were human beings. There were a number of people that fought against the times or tried to make a difference. There were far more that were disgusted with the events taking place, but did nothing to protect those close to them. To throw a blanket statement like they were the incarnation of evil is kind of fucked up. Human beings can and do just about everything. Whether that's good or bad largely depends on where you live, the time you live in, and which side is left standing in the end.
>>
>>49745306
>the stigmata attached to them might not mesh well with other Travellers and cause unnecessary troubles.
I mean, arent some Travellers literally Demons?

Sounds like Nazis wound be rather mild compared to the shit Travellers run into regularly.

>>
>>49745236
Different anon, but that's very counter-intuitive, despite being what the CYOA instructs.

The premise is that you have a demon and an angel as sisters. Then there is a set of demon sister options (bar the devil-mother), a set of angel sister options, and two sets of misc adjustments. The natural assumption is that you would pick one from each, to end up with a demon and angel sister (meeting the premise) and two other effects.

If you pick by row, you can have multiple demon sisters, multiple angel sisters, no demon sister and no angel sister. Even no sisters at all. Which is contrary to the premise.

That said, the devil mother means you would be able to do that anyway, and her text assumes you'd also get a demon sister.

What are the connections between the rows? They should be mutually incompatible choices, such as choices you'd only get one of, like the personality of a specific sister. Instead, they's each an apparently random personality for sister A, ditto for sister B, and two apparently random misc powers, no more connected to each other or the two sisters they share a row with than any other misc options.

tl;dr whichever way it's intended, which is probably as written, one per row, doesn't make sense and ends up feeling like a pretty arbitrary and unbalanced CYOA that very readily contradicts its own premise.
>>
>>49745324
Not to mention some of them are interdimensional eldritch horrors, undead/experimental monstrosities, fanatic killing machines from theocratic fascist regimes as well as people that are just plain batshit insane.

>>
>>49745348
>If you pick by row, you can have multiple demon sisters, multiple angel sisters, no demon sister and no angel sister. Even no sisters at all. Which is contrary to the premise.
False. If you don't pick any demon options, for example, the demon sister is a generic demon sister. If you pick multiple options for one sister, the sisted's personality becomes an amalgamation of the chosen options.
>>
>>49745287
>Was the Nazi reigme bad?

Yeah! How is the US any different? I mean, even if the US didn't murder millions of said Japanese, which they might well have done and just covered it up, somehow, I'm sure they would have if they'd got the chance. They just didn't. For some reason.

That still doesn't make sense:

Why is it way instead of a far more intuitive "pick one sister A, one sister B"?

How are personalities like depraved and innocent angel supposed to combine?

Why is devil mother stuck among the demon sisters?

What is the connection between the options in a row? Or is it arbitrary (in which case it's a bad CYOA)?

What's the personality of a "generic" sister?

Why doesn't it say that's how it works?

They don't really get along. A lot of their political problems stem from lots of them having different mindsets, and the usual solution is to just sequester themselves from everyone else (See the Veteran Enclave and the Amish faggots). That's not a healthy society. I seriously doubt the sentient sword would appreciate hanging around an Englishman, and I imagine the Soviets would be sore with any Nazis or Americans.

Because cooperative storytelling implies that all the players and GM involved agreed to a set of rules of conduct, and that the players will try to roleplay and act out their characters' actions to navigate a comprehensive narrative guided by a GM. At least that's what roleplaying should be about.

While ERP is just players trying act out their intimate sexual fantasies, and a GM might be present to act as referee than narrative guide. Because not every person within a ERP game might share the same fetishes or are even on the same intimate and emotional level for a ERP to work, leading to drama and disputes.

There's some things I'd change assuming they affect me as well, and some things I'd change assuming they don't. If I turn the gender slider might my own dick fall off? Pheromones might be nice to have but killing the libido of all other men would be pointless if I lose my own as well.

But all in all, there's too much potential for things to go horribly wrong. With a vast female majority men might end up in sperm donor slavery. It's near impossible to say what consequences changing general intelligence either way would have.

Ah, fuck it. Let's see what happens:
-Redo all history
-Maxed out intelligence for both genders
-One male per three females
-Pheromones for both
-No periods

No one knows how many died, they changed a holocaust memorial from 6 million Jews dead to 4 million. It was more like 1.5 million.

You want the truth anon? /cyoag/ has had ERP happen, 2 years ago back when we had a Domain Master RP going, two players decided to fuck each other in character, one player's character got pregnant and gave birth to two mary sue twins. And yes they roleplayed all of it not in thread but on roll20. I forgot most of the details but one was a some sort of succubus queen and the other was a shota/rapist.

And even recently, ERP happened during the Altered History threads, as someone rp'ing as the whore of babylon was getting assaulted by a god of war and a couple of other players, the whore of babylon either wins the conflict or becomes someone's breeding bitch. I wasn't around to find out.

Both times that ERP officially happened it was cringeworthy and digusted everyone involved besides the one or two players that wanted it all to happen, which contributed to the rp dying off as they just become two players having cyber sex.

Go ahead and get ERP started on /tg/ anon, there's nothing stopping you.

Especially since the angel will forcibly convert the demon, though I will have to try to keep her from being too rough.

Shame Same Classes doesn't to allow my same age demon sister to go to school with me and have our older angelic sister being a teachers aide or something. I'd jump on that.

All in all, I'm expecting my demonic sister and I to be eating a lot of fluffy, angelic muff, as well as getting the occasional spanking session or other lewd punishment. Then, afterwards, a lot of cuddling mysobbing, sinful sister to sleep
Maybe Ms. Ara~Ara~ will join in on the fun occasionally too.

I do all the time, what's the point of posting your builds here when everyone is just going to ignore them and continue with whatever the latest masturbatory foreplay, /pol/ or /lgbt/ related shitstorms?

Hell the only decent discussion that happens is when a cyoa author chimes in and wants help/advice for making a cyoa.

>When you start working on a flesh-molding horror CYOA and realize that people are probably just going to treat it like a fetish one
Really killed my will to make this one. I was about half-way into it and everything. Was making a whole system of trading off horrible things, like having a parasite control your movements and speech, for things you want, like more strength or better looks. But too many of the choices would just be /d/ fuel.

What would you want from a CYOA that lets you design and construct a sci-fi space station?
>>
>>49746996
waifus
>>
>>49746996
The ability to become the space station's governing AI.
>>
>>49746964
Oh come on. The same could be said for anything. Comfy house CYOAs are perfect for imagining I get to be a girl in and live a fetishy life with a fantasy husband.

Just make the CYOA you want to make and if people find a different enjoyment to you, so what?
>>
>>49746996
Location. Where is the space station and why was it placed there? Is it over an urbanized world, or over a new colony, or somewhere far from habitation?

What exactly is the space-politics landscape that surrounds that location?

And the station's function. Is it a merchant port or industrial complex? Mineral or gas mining? Military fortress base or maybe a cloaked observation outpost? Civilian habitation space-city? Science or R&D station?
>>
>>49747101
It still killed my interest in making it, nonetheless. It's always been a problem with me making anything that I make to horrify myself.
>>
>>49746996
The ability to use the CYOA from either the perspective of a character wanting a base or as a setting for adventure for characters. Basically, from the PC/NPC's perspective and the GM's perspective.

Some way of choosing its inhabitants. Maybe not a list of aliens but general options like Prehistoric Cloned Animals (for a tourist or science station), Aliens, Genetic Creations (for a research station), Robots (to help run the station, controlled by its AI or independent).

Also for a functions choice like >>49747116 said: trade hub/marketplace, amusement part/leisure resort, experimental society, prison, medical center, school and residential. And maybe some sub-options: an amusement station could be Jurassic Park or it could be a surfing resort using tides caused by its own orbit/spin. An experimental society could be founded by a nationless people or subculture or be an ideological community. A residential station could be a luxury city for the mega-rich or an off-planet slum controlled by criminals.
>>
>>49746990
So, ignoring the odd way you wrote the build, something I'd like to mention is that The Now; Watcher gives you a total of 8 skills (5 free, 3 given to every Traveller) you can choose from the start, not counting Low-Tech.

Isn't that a good thing, though? Being able to elicit a strong emotion with something you write is pretty awesome. Some of my favorite novels had me sobbing like a child partway through or feeling like absolute shit for a couple of days after finishing them. Anyway, anon, I don't' know how to say it but get over yourself. Take the Stephen King approach to it all, only hopefully without the cocaine. Just sit down and write it out until it's done. Then polish that shit until it looks good enough to sell.

I love writing horror or works that have that tinge of discomfort laced throughout it. Like looking at a Giger piece. It's unsettling. I can creep myself out, but I've never really shown my stuff to anyone outside my family because I don't take criticism well and have been trying to fix other problems in my life. Maybe one day after I've had time to get my head out of my ass and stop caring about what other people say about my stuff, then I'll end up publishing a few of my works.

He accidentally shucked himself out of the game proper, but didn't completely delete his own code. So he's still there, in the game, just not as a character, and there for unable to actually affect the game and it's characters, other than in a meta sense, in that we, the player, know about him, and that in turn leads us to making certain decisions, which kind of counts as him influencing the game through us.

Or something.

It was whatever bullshit Marco Fulcamario thought up while high brain damage from the cold void of the universes heat death. The thing that every third generation traveller is brought in on.
>>
>>49747709
If you ever do get comfortable with it all, try hiring a professional editor. Costs a bit more, but they know their shit.
>>
>>49746996
A lot of the standard options you might find in a spaceship CYOA (Stardust/Spess Refuge) would work. Weapons, defences, scientific equipment, special abilities, rooms, vehicles, etc.
>>
>>49747775
The "Algorithm" is the test Marco 'Fulcanelli' created in order to make sure Traveller recruits are up to snuff before bringing them into the fold.

Thing is, the actual list of requirements are next to impossible to discern, as Marco refuses to elaborate, and anything other Travellers see as part of the recruitment process contradicts itself and makes no sense.

>>49747769
So far, nothing as far as I know. Personally, I think he's ultimately a joke character that makes fun of people who look too close into video games in order to find something hidden.
>>
>>49747769
It's intentionally incomplete, but the running hypothesis is that he created the CORE, fell into it one day, magic shit happened, and his soul was scattered across various timelines. The "fun" value that dictates random events in the config is hypothesized to stand for Functional Universe Number, so the presence of different Gaster events in different universes makes sense.

A row is usually horizontal in nature. i.e. I've got all my ducks in a row.
A column is usually vertical in nature. i.e. These stone columns are quite heavy.
Therefore, this CYOA is horizontal.

>>
>>49747805
Fair enough. So "recruitment" can't be a thing that happens anymore? What about the Minor drawback? I DO NOT UNDERSTAND.
>>
>>49743786
First row: None. They are niche builds and sex change for depraved niggas. I guess maybe big sisters so as to not get in trabble with authorities, but that would be an illusion because there's nothing implying I wouldn't remember my past life at least to some level.
Second: Forbidden love. Makes life easier for everybody.
Third row: Archdemon. Pride. Because tsunderes fall harder.
Fourth: Assertive angel. Otherwise, this would be decided too quickly.

Taking two challenges: Shared room / Same classes. I was used to fuckery around me in school, and high seduction resistance. Not that it matters because both choices help my build.
Extra choice: Archangel, Humility. For funsies, because she doesn't only opposes but compliments Pride.

Dedicate my time to use double switch, angel will be significantly more corrupted, demon will become tame, learn as much as I can from the girls, develop emotional rapport with them and if things seem right enough, sexytimes and threesome aren't off the table.
>>
>>49747805
I suspect there is a bunch of hidden bullshit as well. Like even if otherwise qualified many related people would not be allowed to join on a case by case basis. The risk of any kind of nepotism is too high. Or if the eyes of the third were insistent an exception might be made for someone. Royalty of any kind probably has to pass a higher bar than normal people. The type of being you are does matter and the criteria is downright bigoted, etc,
>>
>>49747869
Let's slow down and start from the beginning:

1. There IS a recruitment process, but the exact details are confusing and next to impossible to discern completely, as they were created by the slightly mad Marco 'Fulcaneli'.

2. The minor Drawback can be seen as either

>Traveller recruit is a young teenager

or

>Traveller recruit's body reacted strangely to the teleport to Ae and regressed back in age

Ultimately, it doesn't matter too much, just fluff it up enough that it makes sense.
>>
>>49747813
Usually, the professional editors are assigned by publishers to edit a work that they bought from an agent. I do know people that can do edits for me when I need it, though. They're never as brutally honest about when things are bad as I need them to be because they don't want me to stop paying them to edit for me, so they mostly just look for grammatical errors and clean up when my prose gets a little knotted.
>>
>>49747869
Okay, so first you have the second generation, they're all brought in to win the Denial.

After SURVIVING winning the day they go to earth to figure out what next. Many pitch ideas but eventually, Marco's recruitment process (Capable of being applied both by magical instruments and by tech via marco himself) rises to the top. All third generation recruits are recruited by this, including autistics, literal children, not yet sapient AI programs, spirits, assholes, etc, etc. The thing is this process seems to work as most major infighting remains fixed around the second generation and all the shit it pulled. The only things we can say for certain about this process is that new recruits won't have thier brains melt like fucking jello when fighting the eldritch (and can also dig neo-socialist music) for some fucking reason.

>>49747904
The thing is it seems the eyes support this method, as they're in league with Marco's specific brand of maddness, continuing to do whatever it is a 'third's eye' 'sees.'

>>49747939
My issue with that is that Travellers don't teleport, they literally cut their way through reality.

A lot of the time I feel like there's no point to posting the builds or the CYOAs I make. A lot of them just get swept up under whatever pleases the fickle autists at the moment and never prompts discussion or improvement. I understand it because there's things I just don't want to talk about, and that includes certain builds and CYOAs. But when I put a bunch of time into a build or CYOA and it doesn't get any attention, I'd rather not post the next one.

>>49746656
ty. I wonder if the author was thinking in squares due to floor plans, which would suggest a height limit of "not much" or would it be "sky is the limit" :/
Assuming 1 square lightyear, that could produce a square area of about 97 times the circumference of the Earth per side. If you repeated earth's surface across this area, your house would appear 29,857 times (with a 79.58% chance at one more time).

For most purposes, I'd consider this unlimited.

1 ly in miles = 5.879e+12
Circumference of Earth: 24901 miles
sqrt(5.879e+12)/24901=97.37
surface area of Earth: 196,900,000 square miles
5.879e+12/196.9e+6=29857.7958
>>
>>49748234
A square lightyear would be an area 1ly x 1ly. That's 81,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 km^2. Earth has a surface area of about 500,000,000 km^2. A square light year is a mere 162,000,000,000,000,000 times earth's surface area.

One of the projects I've been slowly burning away at is a big old piece I'm calling "The Salted City" for now. It's suitability autistic in details and scope that it'll take me quite a while to finish it, especially if I keep doing smaller projects in the middle of it. It's sort of a Dark Souls/Bloodborne type thing set in a fantasy version of Deseret, the territory that became Utah.

However I've run into a bit of a problem with communicating setting details. I'll have an index at the back of it that will have details and whatnot, but I'm trying to communicate enough through the choices that you shouldn't have to need to read it to get the basics. What I'm having trouble with though is communicating the spoilery bits about why you are where you are at the start of the CYOA and the details that you would find out by completing the challenges I'm outlining if it was a game instead of a text document. Should I explain some things like that upfront or should I leave those details to those who want to read through the challenges and take them on?

Found a really old thing so I figured I'd post it. In turn, I'd like to request your fantasy CYOA's.
>>
>>49749121
I don't want to sound like a little bitch, but I updated the OP CYOA last thread and it got brushed over because someone posted a "be the girl" WIP two posts before it. It's basically had one or two replies every update I make to It, and no one really seems that interested. It bummed me out because I thought it was a cool idea. I guess it doesn't pander to the typical fantasy that people want, though. Oh well, guess it takes knowing your audience.

Let's have a look-see.

>Archaeologist
I sought ancient powers, now I'll be in this cell until I'M an ancient power. Unless, of course...

>Reshaper's Potion
Let's see the cards fall where they may. Heads (1) I win, Tails (2) it's him.

>Sinner's Scale
You oughta see some of the traps they leave in those ruins.

>Ironwood Rations
Now there's the way I can keep going in the desert. You know. Where those tombs usually are.

So it begins. The long battle against the armies of Chaos.

>Northchild Ylva
Her skills in survival will be absolutely necessary.
>Deathstronaut Edwin
The advanced equipment at his disposal will destroy the legions of chaos!
>Amazon Knight Myrelia
And her sheer strength is nothing to sneeze at.

As for the ASCENSION? Let's go with Ylva's. To rule the North as High King - what a future! What a grand future!

I never reply to CYOA's sheerly out of laziness even if I enjoy them. Post your creations anon, there's sure to be a lurker who will enjoy it
>>
>>49749121
>I'd suggest you post it
It's not like I never post builds. I usually do if there's something more than just the choices I made to be said, like pointing out synergies, detailing MOs, explaining plans or whatnot. When it's just wish fulfillment or magical realm though, and it's an old CYOA to boot so there's no knowing if the author's even around, I don't find much motivation in making my messy mental masturbation manifest.

Example:
>>49744459
Gold
W/Magic High
P/Amazing

Silver
W/Magical races
W/Beauty
W/Ratio
W/Intelligence
P/Magical Harem
P/Command

Bronze
W/Magical races/One gender
W/Reality
W/Intelligence/Remove Stupid
W/Growth
P/Magical Harem/Slavemancer
P/Induce Fetish
P/Command/Powerful
P/Perfect/Body
P/Perfect/Mind
P/Perfect/Ageless

If there's something to discuss, I was left wondering if some of my choices might have been redundant what with being the greatest wizard ever in a high magic world. In a more general sense, and more applicable to other CYOAs where you can adjust the gender ratio of the world, I wonder where the balance lies between "Desirable simply for being male" and "Function as sperm machine outweighs male human rights"

>I've been thinking of square area wrong for a long time. Thank you.
I'm not sure that's true, but it's surprisingly hard to get a source saying either way clearly.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Square_inch
>A square inch (plural: square inches) is a unit of area, equal to the area of a square with sides of one inch.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Square_foot
>It is defined as the area of a square with sides of 1 foot.
>To calculate the Square footing of an area, multiply the length of one side of a regular quadrilateral multiplied by the length of an adjacent side (for example, a rectangle of 0.5 foot by 2 foot would cover 1 square foot).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Square_mile
>unit of measure for an area equal to the area of a square of one statute mile.
>It should not be confused with miles square, which refers to a square region with each side having the specified length. For instance, 20 miles square (20 × 20 miles) has an area equal to 400 square miles; a rectangle of 10 × 40 miles likewise has an area of 400 square miles, but it is not 20 miles square.

Can someone explain this so that I can finally understand?
>>
>>49750994
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Square_kilometre
>divided into squares representing 1 km2, each square on the map being one square centimetre in area and representing 1 km2 on the surface of the earth.
>the grid lines are 2 cm apart. Each square on the map is 2 cm by 2 cm (4 cm2) and represents 1 km2 on the surface of the earth.
>the grid lines are 4 cm apart. Each square on the map is 4 cm by 4 cm (16 cm2) and represents 1 km2 on the surface of the earth.
>In each case, the grid lines enclose one square kilometre.
>The grid lines are at one kilometre intervals giving each square an area of one square kilometre. The map shows that the area of the island is about two square kilometres.

>Sinner's Scale
In this business, being able to survive stab wounds is a serious blessing.
>Linguist's Tongue
Disgusting, but being able to communicate in any language is a boon I wouldn't easily pass up.
>The Marked Tome
Extra insurance for those deals that others can break? How can I say no?

My first order of business is getting out of this jail. With the Sinner's Scale, I can just walk out with fewer risks. And if I really want to, I could just use the Marked Tome to sign a couple of deals that will get me out of here (maybe promising others wealth in exchange for my release.)

Once out, I will begin recruiting others who seek wealth and power. With the Marked Tome, I can make sure they do not back stab me. Of course, they will have to do their part in providing income, but they shall have the resources of some instead of just one, allowing for faster and more complex plans to be carried out. Which usually means more wealth to go around.

I predict that, within a mere decade, I shall have control over this city and a small mob of people willing to do my work.

>>49750994
The wording is tricky, and perhaps not always recognized by all sources. I was trying to calculate a square which has each side being the square root of a lightyear. You calculated 1 lightyear square (each side being 1 ly) which is by far the normal way to consider this distance.

sqrt(1 ly) = 1 ly != sqrt(1 ly in km) = 3075873.85957 km = 3.25e-7 ly
As this math doesn't line up, I see that the question I am asking becomes quite different when changing the distance type before doing a square root. :/

To answer your question of how a square mile is different from a mile square, buying land can make more sense when considering a square with sides equal to the value spoken rather than talking about area. If one wishes to sell land by area, then they are going to talk about acres, which is strictly an area measurement.

Image: 1st is what normally would be expected, 2nd is what my brain was aiming for (I think), and 3rd is what I actually did. baka

Speaking personally here, but I don't even know what most women fantasize about. Is it power, wealth, fame, glory, respect, maybe stability? Would the same type of options in that cyoa work for women if the wording was changed a bit? Is there anything from male power fantasies that carry over to female power fantasies? Is it safe to make a generic power fantasy as a catch all for everyone?

But rooms are measures in square feet, when by this reasoning feet square would be the sensible measurement.

And in your pic, the first is a light year square by the given definition of miles square, not a square light year as you labeled it.

I don't recall very many house with single truely square room, yet alone all the rooms of the house being square. OTOH, large swaths of land may have been very common to be sold in squares.

>And in your pic, the first is a light year square by the given definition of miles square, not a square light year as you labeled it.
A light-year square and a square light-year is the same size. 1 is the area of a light-year which has sides 1 light-year each, the other is a square with the lengths of a light-year, which has an area of a light-year.
The same is not true for 2 light-years squared and 2 square light-years. See Image

>And I don't even know what the third means. What did you do except one or other of the first two?
I don't fully understand this question.
The third square is 1 light-year in miles, square rooted, which is the length of a side of a square with an area of 5.879e+12 miles^2. Note that 1 ly^2 == 3.456e+25 miles^2. I wanted to compare the sides of the square that has an area of 1 ly to the length of the Earth's circumference, and failed.

I failed because I believed that x distance^2 always equaled x square distance, which is actually only true when x == 1.
