That's kinda why I built him. I like elves, but I already have a vintage elf deck and the first elf EDH deck I built (Ezuri) played basically the same way so it was kinda boring.

One of my first decks back in the day was a Megrim deck, so I tried to do something like that with Nath. Like it says, it kinda sputters out in it's current form, so it might migrate more to stax. But I've already got Marchesa, so, who knows.

Hey /tg/, I was wondering if I could get feedback on this list of mine, the manabase isn't tuned yet, something I plan on doing when my core theme is finalized.

I think it looks good so far but I'm wondering if there are any more cards that have the themes of vengeance/revenge/avenging and all that.

I'm tempted to make room to put Hixus Prison Warden in there, along with Pestilence or Pyrohemia. Also, is there a thematic replacement for Stasis Snare?

If I faced you right now I would either combo out or lock you out of the game before you get to cast whatever craw worms you got crawling around in your "deck".

>>49714828
I think mostly after turn 1 he uses it if he can fuck with a tutored card. Plus sometimes just shuffling someones hand away is enough to mess up their plans. I get what you mean though, and I hated it being in my hand the couple of times I played his decks.

We'll you can start by dropping down to 37 lands. There's 7.

Then I figure you should work around your curve. What nets you the most benefits for being reanimated. Ideally, you should have maybe 6-7 discard outlets. The rest should be utility and value.

Eh, stuff like that is kind of like a different use. I feel like stuff like sun Titan is more a value thing. Black's reanimation feels more about cheating out stuff sooner and that's what my deck is focusing on. White actually has a lot of cards that just reanimate thinga but mostly for 4 and 5 mana. And I think 5 is priced a little too high for me. Zombify is kind of like barely playable for me. Black is the king of cheaty reanimation, with stuff like exhume, reanimate, animated dead, et all.

Being a creature has a lot of advantages in green. More recurrable, for one thing. Easier to bounce/blink. More tutorable, as you mentioned. Can be sacced for more value. Triggers those nice creature ETBs. Sometimes being an elemental is nice(looking at you, Angry Omnath). There are loads of upsides to regal force.

That said, shamanic revelation is amazing too. They're both excellent cards with different situational virtues.
>>
Are there any rulings online for the un-set cards? I want to build a Richard Garfield, Ph.D. but I'm not too sure how he works. Specifically I want to know if he "remembers" the cards you've named if he's blinked or recasted.
>>
>>49713900
Ezuri. Just buy the Freyalise deck, a Heritage Druid, a Wirewood Lodge, a Nykthos, a Door of Destinies, a Garruk Wildspeaker and you'll be doing equal or better than most casual to semi-competitive decks.
The only really expensive cards are Cradle, Cavern of Souls, Sylvan Library and maybe Staff of Domination. Craterhoof and Natural Order if you want to go into the most fragile combo ever.
Everything else you can get under $10, most of it under $5. It's probably the most inexpensive deck that's actually competitive even when it's not optimized and scratches Tier 1 when it is.
>>
Got an odd story to share

>play with group yesterday
>brother in law brings out sliver queen deck that has, in his words, 11 different infinite combos
>gets off one of the combos and keeps bragging about the rest of the night
>everyone besides me and this other chillbro gets tired of hik and kicks him out
>mfw I was his ride home which is a 30 minute drive away
>we continue to play for the next 5 hours
>he sat on the porch the entire time

Now he's asking me to see if they will let him play with us again and they refuse to play at his house. I feel bad for him but at the same time I felt he did deserve it. I still haven't decided if I should ask them or not as they all still seemed pissed about it

Regal is strictly for green token strategies.

Shamanic is better for multicolor or green decks that aren't going wide.

Regal is a creature and gives devotion. But it can suffer from topor orb or opponents cloning it.

All uncards have no rulings on purpose, and you won't get an official one.

That being said, not being able to name the same card twice seems like it should stretch the whole match, otherwise it ruins the spirit of the card (and the mental magic it was trying to recreate).

Stop being babies, banter is inoffensive and is usually a way to incentivize your opponent to do better. The fact that he's sorry about upsetting them and want to play with them again denotes he was just trying to raise the spirits rather than being autistic.

There is agreed distinction, but in general warrior is someone who fights for personal glory or honor, and generally trains to fight 1 on 1, while a soldier is a professional who fights for pay or duty, in larger units.

A good rule of thumb is assuming everyone has roughly equal equipment, 10 warriors beat 10 soldiers, but 100 soldiers can beat 100 warriors.

First you should pretty much scrap that whole deck and start over. It's an incohesive pile. Most of the stuff in there isn't even vengeance themed.

Obvious removals if you want to just edit it, Avicynian Missionaries is pretty much always going to be dead draw since you only have 2 pieces of equipment and both of those should go on your commander. A lot of your creature and spells look like things that were beasts in standard but are not very good in commander. There is just so much wrong here.

Try again 8-10 pieces of ramp and 8-10 pieces of draw. Then make a coherent deck with cards with synergy. None of your cards work with any of your other cards. A lot die to your own commander. As it stands this is just a mismatch pile of mish mash. I really can't even tell you what to improve because there isn;t any theme or idea to improve.

RW just needs a commander that is capable of generating a good flow of cards, even if it's not necessarily card advantage. For example, a commander that red-loots whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control.

RW has good cards, and when it works, it works just as well as UG broken shit. The problem is, since it has no real card flow, it will eventually get hellbent and just sit drawing a card a turn hoping to get to one of those cards that get you some cards (wheels, skullclamp, etc).
>>
>>49718630
It checks after its in the grave and stuff.
>>
>>49718663
>ug broken shit
>color combo with literally no win cons.
>>
>>49718630
>>49718686

shizo checks their power "immediately before leaving the battlefield" (you can look at the rulings on gatherer for confirmation)

which means anything that died from a languish or a toxic deluge that reduced its power below 1 (and toughness, obviously) wont be returning to the battlefield, but if for instance you had a 5/4 creature, and it died to languish, it would return to the battlefield. or if you had a 5/5 and cast languish then damnation, it would return to the battlefield
>>
>>49718700

are you saying UG has no wincons, or RW has no wincons?
>>
>>49718720

wait my bad, shizo says 1 or less, not exactly 1, so anything you control that dies from toxic deluge or languish or black sun's zenith will return to the battlefield with shizo's ability
>>

Yeah that's an error on my part. I've always liked Knights and I may have forced some pet cards and interests where they don't belong.

Haven't made a list for the rashmi deck yet on tappedout because it's honestly god awful at the moment.

Just threw it together with spare cards I had lying around, missing at least a dozen staple cards, and can't be bothered to order them when I already have so many decks.
>>
>>49720246
>>49720236
The deck IS kinda creature based though, because I wanted a deck I could play Panharmonicon in. So I play Eternal Witness, Archaeomancer, Mnemonic Wall and Greenwarden, plus about 10 different clones (particularely spell based clones).
The rest of the deck is control, expensive counterspells like Spelljack, Desertion, Overwhelming Intellect, that commander one that gives you control of the spell you counter etc.
They usually give you a free spell off rashmi, while letting you steal the spell you countered. The free card typically is a clone or a regrowth effect, so you get back your counterspell.

Then you just sit like that forever, stealing peoples spells while getting them back for free, eventually you get so much card advantage that you just win by cloning eternal witness 20 times and getting back your entire graveyard every turn.
>>
>>49720215

I submit that you are currently choking on a hundred cocks.

What's the grossest non-creature thing I can do in a Kruphix deck? Additionally, how do you feel about The Great Aurora?
>>

Great Aurora is the best green board wipe and win con ever printed. It's much like Catastrope, when you're behind you get a new chance, when you're ahead you win pretty much on the spot.

Fuck you. He was proud of his deck and just wanted to play Magic. Why are you being such a cunt? If his deck is too strong, build better decks or ask him to play something else. If he didn't bring any other decks, have another player spot him one. What you did is extremely awful, and as someone on the other side of that situation, it fucking sucks when some guy decides you don't get to play Magic any more because of stupid reasons. Act like an adult.

Built a Warrior/Berserker/Barbarian tribal that helms her and runs a bunch of wheels and MLD. She's my weakest deck (by design) for when I play against newer folks, but she's a fair bit of fun if you enjoy playing Creatures: the Tappening.

Ehhhh, Blood Moon is kind of a weird card to play in this format, because it typically won't stop the very best of players (who plan for it with fetches and a few basics) but it will destroy more casual ones.

This sounds like a good idea until they realize they can kill you to end the blood moon effect. If you were going to plan your deck around basic land I would just play ruination instead. Then the only reason they have to target you is spite, but thats not a very good reason.

LGSes will sometime take bulk

If you want maximum cash, eBay is your best bet. It can be a pain to sell but you will usually get 100% of your value off it. Otherwise, a lot of the online shops have buylists that you can sell to, at a lesser value.

Anybody else play sinkhole as their commander? I don't see how any group except for the most autistic wouldn't be fine with it. Sinkhole is a relic of magic history before legendary was even a card type, so it's not fair to exclude this obviously fun commander just because it isn't a legendary creature.
>>
>>49723845
Anax and Cymede has it really bad since it needs to go wide for the heroic trigger to matter but it also needs to go tall to get heroic at all, all at once. They're really not good. You can build whatever you want ofc but still.
>>
>>49723858
if you want to ask your group

i honestly believe no one would even give that much of a shit tbqh in terms of power level, though the first sinkhole will be a bitch
>>
>>49723845
It's one of those commanders that feels like it exists for Tiny Leaders. If your group does that at all, they're awesome. Otherwise... RW is such an uphill battle already, why make it worse on yourself.

^ This, TBQHF.
Sinkhole isn't even good. You get to put one person behind a single turn and then your general costs 4 mana, and thats hardly efficient.

Ask your playgroup. Honestly I would allow it at my table
>>
>>49723460

Cool. Just curious.
>>
>>49723858
No one played it before eternal masters because it wasn't worth $25. Now the only people who play it are people who opened them because the effect isn't worth $10.
>>
>>49724149

Seems pretty broken in 1v1

In a normal monoblack ramp shell, imagine being on the play, on turn 2 you hit their first land drop, then on turn 3-4 you drop them back down to 0-1 lands, then, assuming they had a land heavy draw thru finally make it to 3-4 lands on turn 5-6 and you hit them again

I like this list a lot. I've actually swapped some cards out of my original Shirei deck for some of yours. However, you are missing this beautiful bastard which can end games.
This ability is stupidly good only with this commander. Almost every other discard effect is either when the creature enters the battlefield or can only be used as a sorcery. If you have a free sacrifice engine, and your opponents are down to no cards in hand, you can have them discard in response to drawing their first card of the turn. Unless its an instant that kills Shirei they are basically fucked.
>>
>>49724828
1v1 is a different animal entirely. I'm pretty sure that post was made assuming multiplayer. You just can't spend four mana to kill a land in multiplayer.
>>
>>49724828
1v1 EDH is a complete joke, so I see nothing strange happening here. Doesn't seem more game breaking that a turn one sol ring.
>>
>>49725214
>>49725124

I know I'm just saying, in my playgroup we can't always get a multiplayer game going and we play 1v1s when only 2 people are available

Sinkhole would be stupid there
>>
>>49725234
If you're playing non duel commander rules it's already stupid regardless of sinkhole or not. And if you're playing fuel rules you probably shouldn't allow sinkhole ad commander. That wouldn't even make sense given the intention of fuel rules to begin with.
