What sort of fit would you pitch if you were a member of Alliance or Horde intelligence and had to deal with the knowledge that a group like the Uncrowned exists? I find the in-lore Zangarmarsh much more interesting after warlords of draenors savage, primal depiction of the planet.

Shame that expansion flopped. Would have liked to see Faronaar, the endlessly expansive zangar sea, and that unnamed continent in the southwest of the map. Really gave some basis to the WC3 and lore depiction of outland being a demon magic infested, shattered hellscape.

Also botani were fucking terrifying.

The whole reason I played Horde in Vanilla is because they were so clearly weaker than the Alliance. The underdog aspect appealed to me, bringing the orcs back down to where they were in vanilla along with their allies would be great.

I JUST realized... they were trying to emulate the human campaign from Reign of Chaos. I mean, that was Ner'zhul's entire MO to recruit Arthas, wasn't it? Starting slow with some cultists and zombies, then an abomination, then Kel'thuzad, then entire hordes during the siege of Hearthglen, and then Mal'ganis himself.

Of course, they completely failed to emulate the desperation turned to ruthlessness that defined Arthas' fall, since NPCs are emotionless questbots, but man... They set that up from the first Wrath trailer, where the Lich King (with a more Arthas-like voice) tells you that you're following in his footsteps. I wonder if anything got lost when the dev team got switched out mid-expansion.

During the fight he observed and learnt the secrets of metamorphisis. He figured that if he learned from raid bosses that other Warlocks must have too but their secretive and power hungry nature holds them back. Mages on the other hand have schools and cities dedicated to sharing knowledge on a mass scale whereas Warlocks learn by themselves or with an apprentice. And the expac is pretty good, generally speaking. There are some sizeable chunks of shit here and there (Illidindu's super seekrit fate as Green Jesus 2.0: Felectric Boogaloo being the biggest one; there's also [Literally any moment you spend in the proximity of Tyrande in Val'sharah], and Demon Hunter being whiny emos), but so far I'd give it a solid 8/10. 9/10 if compared to the ocean of shit that was WoD.

Blizzard now sells Game Tokens. Someone buys 1 month worth of game time, receives an item ingame, and sells it for a fixed price (that varies according to your region - EU/Americas/Asia/etc) on the AH for gold. Let me tell you a story about Warcraft D&D game, it started in Pathfinder and runs in 5e now.

The characters are all blood elves, former Kael'thas loyalists. They've fought a desperate defense against the endless ranks of the Scourge. They followed their prince to Lordaeron, escaped unjust imprisonment in Dalaran, followed him to Draenor, to Northrend, and to Dalaran again. They helped to capture Tempest Keep, and were amongst the survivors when Kael'thas fell. They helped in the battle for Sunwell and seen their prince's betrayal.

And then they decided to derail the campaign and create something awesome.

They call it Thori'belore, The Sunfury. It took years to build and no one dares to guess how much money. They took whatever Naaru tech they could capture from Tempest Keep. They studied Scourge necropoli and stolen the secrets of Dalaran magi. They dealt with Ethereals, bought technologies from dozens of worlds. They hired best goblin engineers available. They continued through the Cataclysm, through Horde civil war. When they learned about imminent Legion invasion, they managed to convince a Naaru to help. They persuaded Mimiron to give them access to Titan tech and to send his copy to help in putting it all together. When Iron Horde invaded and gave them access to alternate Draenor, they found Apexis solar technology perfect fit and incorporated it into the design.

They had to deal with Ethereals who wanted to steal the whole thing, various organisations who objected to them stealing their shit, Jaina & co. who didn't want something like that to end in Horde hands, Legion spies and various saboteurs and other problems.

The Sunfury is a small flying city, similar to Dalaran, but designed for war and built like a fortress. It can teleport and even travel across dimensions. It's powered by mini Sunwell, created from one of Illidan's vials and controlled by the Naaru, Xe'no. It's crewed mostly by elven mages and paladins, and it carries a small army of golems: Arakkoa solar constructs, arcane guardians, even titan/dwarven iron golems, different types are used to prevent an enemy from taking over all of them through one method. It's got complement of goblin fighters and bombers. It's bristling with goblin machine guns, cannons and rocket launchers, because magic isn't always dependable. It has Apexis solar lasers. It holds a ton of mana bombs. And then there's the Solar Lance: huge and insanely powerful beam weapon capable of melting anything in its line of sight, based on Apexis weapon from Skyreach and upgraded by Mimiron. They had a blue dragon (NPC from an event from now defunct private RP server, all the players met there originally) help with defensive enchantments and wards.

They choose a less dangerous target for the test run, and made their way to Northrend, meeting only few demons during the travel. Their first target was long abandoned and battle-damaged Naxxramas, and the necropolis stood no chance against their weapons. I though they'll make their way to the Tomb of Sargeras, to meet their real foe, but I was mistaken: they instead set course towards Icecrown Citadel, to truly free the world from the tyranny of fear better than Bolvar's sacrifice and Tirion's silence did: they want to burn the Scourge remnants and melt the citadel itself (Lich King included) to a puddle of slag. The next session will see how successful they'll be (and I'm thinking they'll have to face Acherus and the Ebon Blade who'll try to defend their liege).

IIRC, the whole thing was propably inspired by protoss motherships from Starcraft, and recently by Spear of Adun from LotV. It's OP as fuck, but I'm fine with that... everyone is having fun so far, and they really deserve the reward for their ideas.

In pre-Cata plaguelands quests, you had to sabotage plague cauldrons. The mere fact that the cauldrons were still needed suggests that the plague needs constant exposure. There also were druids at Light's Hope, helping the paladins in stopping the plague.

In post-cata Western Plaguelands, you can see the results: the land is still contaminated, but it heals, unlike EP where Scourge remnants are still active. The huge mushrooms may have something to do with further spread too... Forsaken certainly were very interested in various fungi from all over the world for their new plague. Also the related quests make it somewhat uncertain if the Plague is disease or toxin, it's got the characteristics of both and forsaken works mostly with various poisons...

Could someone remind me what exactly the deal is with peons and peasants?

To my recollection, in the old WC game manuals peons were described as basically "any orc pussy enough to not want to fight", who then gets pushed into dumb manual labor instead. But in WoW that's clearly not the case, since we have all the traders and farmers and so on in the world, and it doesn't make as much sense for the kinder horde that came up under Thrall. But there are still peons around, and they do all seem to be either dumb or lazy or both. So... is peonage the orc equivalent of welfare? If you can't do skilled work for whatever reason, it's being a peon for you?

Whereas, with humans, you have peasants. Presumably, they're some manner of serf? Since there are farmers and other lower-class types who seem to have better education and to treat their land like they actually own it, whereas the classic peasant peasants seem to only be in positions of manual servitude, and to also generally seem less well-spoken.

So, is that a class thing? What's the difference, here, and what does it say about humans and orcs (and the other races in the alliance/horde who don't raise any complaints about it)? Is human peasantry a class thing, with some people just being born into this bottom-rung class and stuck there? Are orcs more meritocratic, with anyone being able to climb the social ladder if only they HONOR hard enough? If there are more smart and motivated people among the alliance's manual labor class (because they're forced to stay there), is that why human buildings generally look better made than orc buildings, which get constructed by dumbass zug-zugs who just strap some wood together with metal plates and rope and call it a day?

Peons are orcs so stupid they can't charge in the right direction, so they get put into a job with constant supervision so they can actually accomplish something.

Peasants are trumpeted as skilled craftsmen in the manual and aren't typically treated like shit. (Exception being what created the Defias.) They're just fatalistic about being ordered into combat.

maybe they were more lowly in w3, but with the depopulations due to war, loss of existing social structures, and the arm's race that's been going on between the factions which the humans have rallied to "better metalworking, and make it work with dwarf and gnome tech", they've become more valuable and skilled(think Europe post-Black Death).
But since orcs rely on strength, and latter development of their culture centered on shamanism, and peons are kinda retarded to begin with, they never made that leap.

Different anon, but that's another thing I've noticed. Stormwind's army is ridiculously well-trained and equipped for a medieval armed force. I mean think about it: even a lowly Footman gets a full suit of plate armor, a sword, and a shield. Plus if we go by game terms, Stormwind soldiers to be the same level, if not higher than, the average level of adventurer in the area.
