Doubt it. The Shadow Priest Knaifu says the Nightmare was Yogg-Saron's creation, and he's dead now, so I'm sure the Legion is okay with grabbing the reins of what seems to be just a non-sentient metaphysical tumor and using it to open a second front against the people who beat them the first time.

Plus, assuming it's mostly Kil'jaeden calling the shots on this one, we don't know how much he and the rest of the Legion infrastructure even know about Sargeras's hateboner for the Void and the Old Gods, or whether he just points them at planets and says "Yo, burn that shit" and they don't ask for any more reason than that because they're demons.

So I just finished Stormheim, and it's as if Blizzard made Skyrim here. Even if, getting a lore dump for the Vry'kul has reignited my 7 or so year old question of why the fuck aren't they playable yet. Maybe it's just me liking old viking stuff, but getting a glimpse into their pantheon and the origins of the Kvaldir left me hyped again. Alliance could do with a really tall race, plus they're an offshoot of the titan-forged, which also fits into what many of the alliance's ancestries lie. Plus with how hyper aggressive they are, it'd be easy to keep up the red vs blue without constantly painting the Horde as either incompetent or plain evil.

No clue what race could go Horde to compensate.

But vrykuls and ogres would be complicated to implement from the start for a very simple reason. They're too tall. There's a metric fuckton of doors they wouldn't be able to pass. Already in standard cities you end up having to dismount to pass this or that door, god forbid you have something like an elixir of the giant or a vrykuls horn active.

So if Gen 1 DKs were warlocks/necrolytes inhabiting dead Pally bodies, where did Gen 2 DKs get their powers? I can understand the other ones getting training, but what about Arthas?
Arthas fell as a pally but he had darkbad necro powers. Without those, he would have just been a knight with his soul stuck in a fancy sword.
So where did he get them? Did Ner'zhul give him a speed course to necromancy in Northrend, or was it from all the artifacts?
Did falling as a paladin give him death knight powers like how Forsaken priests got shadow powers? Was Arthas a Shadow Pally?

He does pretty much this exact thing throughout Val'shara, including kidnapping Malfurion and transforming himself into Malfurion for you to find and rescue only so he can change back, taunt you, and vanish.

Gen 1 "DKs" are completely different from Gen 2, 3 DKs. Gen 1 were literally just dead warlocks with a new name and body. Gen 2 DKs were given power directly from Ner'zhul, Arthas being the first, with the best sword, thus strongest. Gen 3 DK should be pretty similar to Gen 2, in that they're empowered by the LK. I'm not sure how they kept that power after breaking free. Maybe Arthas found a way to store more power in the runeblades/corpses so he wouldn't have to micro each DK and in that way make more DKs.

Haven't finished Stormheim yet, but I just dislike him because I've always been rather neutral on the RvB stuff. Genn's really cool and justified in his hatred of Sylvanis, but he's jumped to conclusions at the broken shore, and I don't like that the stupid RvB stuff got forced in an otherwise really cool zone. Of course, I just hate Rogers outright, whereas with Genn it's more like Im WC3 Thrall dealing with Grom except I don't have years of friendship with the guy.

Except the RvB stuff disappears after the start of the zone in Stormheim until the very end. Most of the time you're dealing with MIGHTY NORDS, which got old real fast, since that's all that's in my fucking class hall too.

i think gilneas was meant to represent britain, and for most of history britain has been militarily isolationist, up until world war two their policy was literally "trade with anyone worth trading with and if they ask us for help fighting we'll just offer them guns" of course it's not a perfect fit because gilneas didn't trade either but still.
