I feel that Catholicism is neat in how its an NPC Proxy to attack others with, but its not nearly as directly useful as Protestant or Orthodox. Pagan is only useful really in the North West to hop along islands or coast. Islam is not powerful enough for how short the benefit is.

Paganism get's really annoying really fast with Heathen Army. Protestantism needs to be better worded. Orthodox always performs well.
Islam is actually quite good. Mostly because they get the ME to themselves.
What do you guys think for MED Pagans?

i was thinking that maybe there should be a cap for all religion bonuses, ditch the faith shit too. that way each religion is unique about how they rack up the religion bonus but at the end of the day its fair bc of the cap. Vikings need the army though otherwise they arent vikings at all...

They get +4 naturally, and another +4 for being the only protestant nation or being allied to another Protestant nation, thats simple.

They then can start snatching up neighboring cities if they control an entire country or region? And super fortify that region when they fill out the boarders nicely?

The First country you take gets super fortified.
The +4 is one or the other. After I removed adopter bonuses because people didn't understand them, I had to give them some compensation so that Heresy did something early.
Heresy let's you grab cities for free, it also gives you some bonuses while fighting in lands, if there is a good heretical presence there.
They get +3 for filling after the first country (Homeland is the term for first country)

Guys I need ideas for med pagans. Their shrine ability is lame as fuck, and a shittier version of Orthodoxy. Any ideas?

Fortify more easily (twice as many territories for the same points?), representing the Roman frontiers. Conquering +3 cities from other faiths give bonuses (stealing their idols and gods, making them subservient to the Emperor).
Small bonus for each non aggression pact with other faiths. +3? And only one per faith.

is it possible to scale all the religious bonus to half what they are currently to make OPing the game easier... i know when we play the map mups go 30 minutes sometimes because of the math and physically filling the map when you have people rolling over 100Ts late in the game

So the new ability is looking something like
Mediterranean Paganism: Free +10. Whenever you conquer other nations +3 or +2 cities gain an additional bonus equal to the value of that city, in the religion category (neutral cities do not count). Reinforced cities are only 75% effective against you. Nations that do not possess +2 or +3 cities cannot attack you, and if they border the frontier, you gain +5. Frontier: Once per game you may declare a frontier. All land borders of yours become reinforced, all enclosed land becomes filled, additionally the border pushes out one in all directions, and becomes reinforced. So long as the Frontier holds, enemies must expend half their points for the turn in order to attack it. The Frontier does not reinforce coastal areas. Reinforced lands connected to the Frontier gain the Frontier bonuses. If the Frontier breaks, the Frontier bonus will be lost.

Likewise with Enclose and losing the bonus. Does it remove the fortification of the territories, or does it only remove the massive attack penalty
