New player, had a go at making a Jump.
>>

Cool.
>>
We're so close to the Thread #1000.

Does anyone has anything special prepared for the occasion?

>>48385675
World Items are a waste of CP. A divine set is much better for buffs, since WI are neither absolute nor really that powerful.

Talents that stack are much more useful.
>>
>>48385727
First of all, welcome and glad to see someone new making jumps!

Second... you have only one discount for Drop-In, and no perks for them at all? You effectively have only two backgrounds.

Why does Tamer give you four exclusive freebies?
>>
>>48385766
>Does anyone has anything special prepared for the occasion?
Not really. I might race to finish my jump for it, but I make no promises.
>>
>>48385727
Needs some love for Drop-In, and I really don't like the "check online for how this Jump works!" approach to Jumpmaking.
>>
>>48385766
I might put in some effort to finish the Jump I was working on, but I doubt I'll be able to do it in time so maybe I'll just give up on it.

Where I can picked up a hammerspace on the level of Personal Inventory (extra large version)?

Likewise, where can I picked an equivalent perk to Innate Talent Golden Mind, because it's straight-up a huge intellect boost with no other add-ons or clauses (other than the mentioned risks of being /that/ smart)?

>>48385699
>>48385766
I do have a fiat-level immunity perk to mind control (thankyou Kirby) but what jumps (besides FFTA) offer perks that gives immunity to instant-death or restricted-movement effects?

Super Mario RPG gives immunity to Instant Death. There's also literally any SMT Jump, excluding maybe Persona if you don't go the right Arcana. But it has Homonculi which absorb the effect.
>>
Is there any way to merge companions in jumpchain?

I asked this a last thread, and was banking on using FF15 echo stuff for it, but that only seems capable of merging yourself with one other person.
>>
>>48385794
>Where I can picked up a hammerspace on the level of Personal Inventory (extra large version)?
FT's Requip is the easiest one. There are others, but that's off the top of my head.

>Likewise, where can I picked an equivalent perk to Innate Talent Golden Mind, because it's straight-up a huge intellect boost with no other add-ons or clauses (other than the mentioned risks of being /that/ smart)?
Intellect boost perks are a dime a dozen.
>>
>>48385794
>immunity to instant-death
True Immortal form Vampire Diares and Dog Talisman form Jackie Chan Adventures should do the trick.

You can also negate the magic with some perks.

>>48385794
>Where I can picked up a hammerspace on the level of Personal Inventory (extra large version)?
Invest in science and magic perks and create your own.

And for the Talent Golden Mind, the DC Jump has some pretty nice mind boosts. And Worm's Thinker powers are also pretty useful.
>>

Use FMA alchemy. Especially if one companion is a little girl and the other one is her dog.
>>
>>48385727
I'm a little lost about Secret Code; what exactly does it do?

I trust Pre-Emptive Attack can be voluntarily turned off?

The egg machine section in general confuses me. What does the part about 150/roll denote? Do rolled monsters become companions or not? What even IS a Godfest? Are these things tech, magic or spiritual, and can they be reverse engineered? Do the pink waifus hatch out of eggs too?
>>
>>48385727
>Secret Code
Too meta.

>Collabs
I think you should limit or block these off entirely for this jump. Cross setting stuff like that is too much, especiallyfor how many settings you can potentially pick characters from.

Welcome to jump writing. I don't know Puzzle & Dragons, so most of this is general jump stuff.

Drop in seems to get the very short end of the stick. Rule of thumb is "is there a significant advantage/disadvantage to one or more backgrounds". With no discounts or freebies, Drop In definitely meets that criteria.

It's probably best to separate out Items (puzzle grid, friends list etc.) into their own category.

Scratch Damage seems odd, because it might not be strong in the jump, it can be very powerful in combination with other jump's abilities, like stacking poison/drain/status effects.

Anons tend to not like hard % numbers, like in Awakening. Advise you use qualitative descriptors like "minor boost" "significant boost" "large increase" etc.

Does the June Wedding Ring grant Light Magic to people that don't have any magical powers, or does it only enhance existing powers?

Generally, having to look up the wiki to create a build is frowned upon.
>>
>>48385933
Nope. Get fucked powerwanker.
>>
>>48385814
>Super Mario RPG
Is that the Quartz Charm? It only says it "protects", and I wasn't sure how potent (or not) it was as an item.

From what I've heard/read, I think SMT jumps are still above my jumper's pay grade so far.

>>48385817
Requip's good, but it uses the Warehouse and I was eyeing Personal Inventory as a great backup in the event I'm cut off from the Warehouse but still have my powers.

>>48385822
>True Immortal from Vampire Diaries
Ahahahano. Once you include the prereqs that perk costs over a thousand in drawbacks at an absolute minimum and I am nowhere remotely near that much of a masochist.

>Dog Talisman
Affordable and a great buy... hmm, while the Talismans are powerful I suspect they're roughly Legendary/Divine tier, not World tier, if we use the Overlord scale?

Good reminder about the magic negation/immunity perks, thankyou.

>Genius in DC
Dammit, my wallet is already on fire in that jump.

>Thinker powers in Worm
Haven't hit Worm yet. I'm still lining up my ducks for that one.
>>
>>48385933
Yeah. That's the point of it. You're making your own Clow Cards, basically, though without being limited to just cards.
>>
>>48385956
>Advise you use qualitative descriptors like "minor boost" "significant boost" "large increase" etc.
Adding to this, examples if possible (Lift a car, lift a truck, lift a skyscraper).
>>
>>48385933
Fanwank, since I don't think a situation like that ever comes up in series since most Clow Cards could probably just exclude Sakura from their effects if needed. That or go on the IRC and ask Stupid_Dog. He doesn't ever answer questions in thread.
>>
>>48385905
It just. It hurts so bad, man.

And his WIP Bay's empty ever since Spyro posted all of it to thread.
>>
>>48385933
That's... pretty much what it's for, right? It says it the magical ability can be "used by others"
>>
>>48385727
...Is this a RYOA? Really? I'm sorry, I don't want to be rude to someone making their first work, but what made you think that rolling for your monsters would be a good idea?
>>
>>48385816
Why not just use Duel Echos with a perk to transfer the perk to the aforementioned companions?
>>
>>48385880
I've got Ribbon, it's an absolute bang for the buck, but I'm wary about relying on it too much lest I discover the hard way that something lethally nasty doesn't /quite/ qualify as a "Final Fantasy status effect".
>>
>>48385982

I'm not feeling this as much as I thought it would. Especially after reading over that Drop-ins only get one thing discounted. And expect that to compete with Tamer getting a million free perks [and one EXCLUSIVE TO THEM]. Monster is ...alright? I found it underwhelming.

>>48385901
>>48385890
>>48385876
>>48385852
I don't think it's actually based on those settings in terms of power. It's more likely based on PnD scaling really. So it won't be nearly as overpowered as you all think it is. Perhaps if he's keen to note you aren't really gaining access to those characters. Just Puzzles and Dragons take on said characters. AKA in line with the settings power level.

>>48385956
>Scratch Damage seems odd, because it might not be strong in the jump, it can be very powerful in combination with other jump's abilities, like stacking poison/drain/status effects.
I dunno why but I feel like more and more people are just more concerned with interjump balance.

>>48385780
Sometimes it's a tad appropriate if it's as extensive as Puzzles and Dragons. I think he might want to list some example monsters and whatnot to give people a feel for it and give the link for more detailed info or further examples/choices.
>>
>>48385727
Oh and I forgot to say this is the first pass so stuff is being taken into account. Not going anywhere near dropbox until it has been significantly tuned/overhauled.

There was a more mundane supplement for it that was scrapped but I may dig out the better parts of it and replace the bits that people have issues with.
>>
>>48386016
Again no. Just remove the crossover stuff. It's simpler that way.
>>
>>48386005

So a few threads back, someone posted a short combo that would allow for massive time-dilation between real-time and mental-time (something along the lines of 10 years realtime = 200 millions years brain-time).

So I'm taking that and I'm going to try to make a list of similar time-dilation effects
.
Right now I have:
SCP Foundation with SCP-24000 (140:1 ratio of inside:outside time)
Symbiote with Berserker OS (24000:1 ratio of mental:realtime)
Halo with Augmented + Improved Spartan Time (15:1 ratio)
Narnia with Clock Of Ages (start at 2:1 ratio of inside:outside time and increase the ratio by 1 every 5 jumps)
Touhou with Lunar Dial (though i don't actually know the maximum compression ratio)
Tropico with Pause (unlimited mental actions but the world is completely frozen)

Of the top of my head, that's all i can think off.
If you know of any other, can someone let me know?

They're jump fiat, unless the author stated otherwise. Since he didn't like Brellin did, it does exactly what the wording tells + canon.

Yeah Blame! tech is pretty powerful, but you could say the same of any combo between using technology to improve your mental processing speed and any sufficiently powerful computer.
Though I'm mostly trying to only count the perks/items given by a jump, so anything you can otherwise acquire in-jump doesn't count unless its pretty powerful (kinda like reverse-engineering the Forerunner Slipspace execution cell where they would isolate someone in a Slipspace bubble then massively increase the time-dilation factor to make someone experience millions of years in seconds).

I think it's because it's his mother. The Oedipal undertones are strong in Evangelion. Shinji takes control over his mother's body by entering her through a long, thin shaft, and then he acts against his father who was always jealous over how Yui loved their son more than him. The fanfic practically writes itself.

Doesn't work like that, eight-eyes. You want a seat at the table, you have to act like you deserve it. Acting out and violence against the dominant culture just proves you aren't ready to be part of that culture.

I don't know about 'taurs, but snakes? They kill way more humans than spiders do. Oh, I've heard it all before, Snakes are a race of peace. It's a meme. You kill our kind in the tens of millions while at best you have a 100 or so global hospitalisations that are considered above a cat 4 and maybe under 10 deaths from spiders per year.

So how many spider lives equal a humans huh? 10 million? 20 million?

Well, what do you want to do in Civilization? Others take it to spend those ten thousand years shaping their own personal world, in which case you're going to want jumps that give societal influence perks, like Light of Terra or GUNM.

Well, the average spider weighs around 0.2 pounds, whereas the average human weighs around 180. So, one human is roughly equal to 901 spiders. Of course, that's not accounting for larger American specimens of humans.

Some humans can weigh up to 950 pounds, bringing the TAV (Total Arachnic Value) up to 4,750.

Now back on Earth there was a bunch of posts about how you just HAD to get Level One Hundred otherwise You Didn't Matter (at least if you were wanting to measure yourself against a freaking Mary Sue), and that because Realm Of Heroes was free for Locals those would just HAVE to end up getting both and be OP. Well... sure... for a young and reckless Jumper... or one who didn't get to pick any of their Jumps and got shat on by RNG.... and if you cared about such things... but me?

Well, I'm a cautious Jumper and it's been a long time since my first rodeo.

So the absolute must-haves here are instead Tireless for the unlimited stamina to fuel my King Arthur's Magic and both Dark Wisdom and Skillful Acquisitions to allow me to learn All The Magic. The rest - a huge hammerspace, the ability to create magic items and use any existing ones, infinite multitasking, supreme intellect, etc - are just even more delicious icing on an already delicious cake. I have no intention of brawling with freaking Nazarick.

That's not cowardice, by the way, just plain common sense. You don't give Batman time to prepare, you don't spit into the wind, and you don't measure dicks with a setting's Mary Sue. Ew. Especially not when this particular one could really do with a friend who can relate to his unusual situation anyway!

Of course, just in case anyone back on Earth is reading this, there is at least one other reason to avoid taking either Realm Of Heroes or Level One Hundred, let alone both of them.

I actually _don't_ want a ludicrous quantity of nebulously defined skills, natural and supernatural, that would normally take centuries (possibly even millennia) to master outside of a MMO game, instantly dumped into my brain when I have no freaking idea what the consequences to my personality might be. Yeah, maybe you'll get a Benefactor who'll guarantee there won't be any. Mine doesn't. Mine reminds me too much of the entity in charge of Fantasy Island for me to believe they're going to hold my hand when I cross the proverbial street. I mean, seriously, the drawbacks offered in some of these Jumps? Do those read like the offerings of a coddling mother hen to you?

Still. I rather like my Benefactor. Has a certain charm and gravitas. And it could be much, much worse. I heard about a Jumper who got Kyubey!ROB as their “Benefactor”. Poor sod.

I try to keep her entertained because I actively fear what happens when she gets bored. Which is all the time.

>Be instructed that I am to entertain her through my adventures.
>Go to different universes, and after about 10 jumps settle into a nice routine of spreading Liberty and Justice throughout the civilisations I encounter.
>Realise that I'm doing the same things, going through the same motions each jump
>Realise that each jump takes me further and further away from my human ideal.
>Realise that the daily life of the jumper can't be all that entertaining
>Realise that she's playing the long game, she's waiting for me to become everything I despise and tear myself appart

Read between the lines, he has more of a preference than he wants to let on. See, the Outsider was actually human at one point, and like many characters of fiction, his backstory was one of torment by those who were stronger than him. This eventually culminated in an occult group trying to use him as a ritualistic sacrifice, which well... you can tell how that went down.

Point is, between the Low Chaos/High Chaos runs in the game, you can actually tell the differences in dialogue, sounding significantly more approving when the PC spares people rather than wasting everyone with power. The reasoning given for this is "as a result of being powerless and abused as a boy, the Outsider is bitter about those with power acting abusively".

http://dishonored.wikia.com/wiki/The_Outsider

So he'll toss power willy nilly to anyone he thinks could be interesting, but just using it to push your way through regardless of cost of life like Daud did? He actually starts losing interest and left him, only really bothering to show up when Daud started to feel guilt again.

Honestly? Mortals hate it because you're killing their loved ones and kind of giving the rats/the plague a lot more ground to cover thanks to the bodies piling up.

The Outsider gets bored of it because who wants to be reminded of when they got bullied and tormented as a kid? You're basically acting like his old tormenters and pushing people around. But for some reason, doing anything to Emily really trips his trigger. He purposefully sicced Daud on Delilah just to stop that plan.

The whole thing just seemed like it was designed by commit. There was all this neat lore, combat was fun and the design was to die for, but teleport and the guards narrow cone of view trivialised stealth and the flat performances of the voice actors was just so disappointing.

And it really is an aesthetic preference and not a moral one, too. If you think about it, Corvo does so very much worse to his enemies in the low-Chaos path. I suppose he's being more moral in that he's not killing guardsmen who are just doing their jobs and aren't legitimate targets of his wrath, but what he does to the people he has a grievance against is nightmarish. He maims two men so he can't be recognized and then sells them into slavery in their own mines, brands the head of a religious order as a heretic and then throws him out on the street to be infected with the plague, and has a woman kidnapped and probably raped by her stalker. There's no mercy in what Corvo does, but the Outsider is 100% on board because he enjoys the poetic justice.

Yeah, that's the problem. He has human emotions, but inhuman perspective. So it really does come off like he's disapproving of the 'boring' route of just killing them one and done, then turns around and goes "Oh holy shit you branded him with his own Heretic Iron? That's AWESOME."

Yet when it comes to Daud, he's way more harsh and only seems to lighten up when Daud does the non-lethal route. Even then, he still shows a bit of scorn by constantly reminding Daud that he's only doing this out of guilt, and that it won't change all the killing he's done. So you can definitely tell there's some favortism going on... kind of like the equivalent of being busy with a new toy, only to find an old toy again and decide maybe to give it another shot.

>I don't want to be a dick but the whole back and forth between Jump-chan and the Outsider was... weird
I had to work with what I was given. A lot of anons hated the shit out of the idea that someone could just pull the jumper away from the Benefactor, and there was a lot of kerfluffle until it was changed up. I would have preferred the original script that we were going to use, but it is what it is.

It might be the 'poetic justice' nature you mentioned. After all, Campbell's branding iron was used against anyone he decided he had a problem with at the time and was more of a blackmail tool than the purpose it was meant for, and then you stick him with the very tool of his power. The Pendletons' silver mines had slaves toiling constantly, when the silver was actually running out and the twins were forcing them to keep working anyway. Until you arrange to have them sent to the very mines they abused people in.

Then there's the Lady Grey who treated others like toys and tools, never bothering with anyone who didn't help adore her in the luxurious mansions or who wasn't associated with the Lord Regent, who she was funding. Yet you decide to toss her to one of those people she never notices, who HAS noticed her and will continue to keep his eyes on her for some time. Though the implications had the devs hastily make a different ending, claiming Lady Grey ended up turning the tables on him and he's more or less her devoted manservant.

Then the Lord Regent. The asshole that kickstarted effectively everything, from the ordering of the Empress' death to releasing the rat plague in an attempt to get rid of poor people. Every action was an attempt at gaining more power, at gaining control... and in the non-lethal route you simply expose him and take all that control away. Watch it come crashing down as he's left powerless.

I think in the end, you might be right that he simply prefers the poetic irony of it all. Not that they die, but that those who pushed others around and tormented those less fortunate or less powerful get the full weight of their actions turned against them. Forcing them to see it from the other side of things. They can't experience the karma if they're dead.

FUCK, I MEANT LADY BOYLE.

>>
>>48388224
Reasons are twofold. First off, time player's necessary to make sure all the time loops and shenanigans are tied up and the timeline doesn't fuck up. It's just inherently necessary.

Second, a more thematic reason... You need both Time&Space to make an universe, because that's the bare necessities you can make an universe out of.

>>48388255
He didn't make a universe in a normal game though. He won a Dead Session. Which /very/ different.
>>
>>48388224

Maybe? I feel like it probably shouldn't, though. The perk is really meant more for active attempts to alter the space-time metric away from what it's supposed to be. Relativistic time dilation, on the other hand, is space-time working as intended. If you say that it lets you ignore that, it actually causes more problems than it solves. You're free to choose that interpretation, but you're going to get into all sorts of weirdness that might not be worth it.

Some last minute changes to the Overlord PDF, which has been updated in the new uploads folder to reflect said changes. Change Log also updated.

They are as follows -

True Vampires can now be blond haired in addition to having silver or black hair (Evileye is blond in canon).

Dimensional Slash and Invincible Aegis have both been explicitly named as Super-Moves and thus restricted to Warrior-Origins only (not sure how I forgot to put that stipulation in the first time).

Local Hero option has had wording to explicitly forbid them from using their CP to buy Level One Hundred. This was done to prevent a price-breaking exploit that Jumpers that chose Local could get, whereby they could import up to 8 companions as local heroes for only 350cp (whom would then all purchase lvl 100), when the mass companion import for lvl 100 costs 500cp.

Alright, so I'm new to this whole jumpchain thing and I have a question.
I see you guys talk about having tons of companions, so how do you guys handle that? like keep swapping them out or?
And is it 8 in total or 8 import and 8 non-import active?
Mostly "how do companions?"
>>
>>48388990
You can only have eight companions active at once unless you imported more than that into your current jump. There are ways around this though such as groups of companions that only collectively take just one "slot".
>>
>>48388990
Swap them out, or use the rarer options that allows for more companions in one slot.
It's 8 total slots, plus any Podded companions. Some individual jumps break that cap.

Also, there's some options like the ship in Uncharted Waters or the Raven House in Webmage, where inactive companions can chill.

>>48388990
Your number of active companion slots are 8+P*, with P being the number of pods you have available. So if you buy a shit ton of pods, only available in the Warehouse, you can have more active companions.

As for what do during jump, some swap them out, some rotate. I rotate in jump and across jumps. So if I have companions 1-8 in jump 20, jump 21 may have companions 9-18. I mix and match a little more deliberately than that, but you get the drift.

I also make liberal use of items and options to allow companions to do their own thing away from me for the duration of the jump. There's a perk in Uncharted Waters that lets you have all your companions active so long as they don't leave your ship. Get a big enough ship and that isn't an issue. They can't follow you around, but you can interact with them.

* - Some jumps allow more, see the jump document itself for companion rules. However if nothing is said, you can assume 8+P works.
>>
>>48388990
8 in total but there are exceptions, such as importing/obtaining more than eight in the current jump or groups of companions that count as one.

Question, do Drop-In Players get Bestiary Knowledge for free, since both get a discount?
>>
>>48388990
There have also been methods discussed in the thread for how to get around the companion limit, but none particularly inventive or effective compared to the old ones recently.
>>
>>48389090
I think the jump specifically mentions when having two discount makes a talent free outside of local + another discount, such as with magic caster slimes getting alchemy.

Well shit... wait a minute, what if I appearified the frogs, making them appear in the room, then put them in the corner and planned to grab them after I got their slime, would that work?
>>
>>48388944
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cHp0f7UpGo

Not that great, but it looks cool. The regular fighting moves you'd presumably use with them are more ordinary, if superpowered.

I bought it because of the analysis portion of it, actually.

Fair, fair. I use DMC's Quicksilver Style and Dishonored's Bend Time for that stuff, but it's only because I don't care for the more esoteric stuff Lunar Dial can do.
>>
>>48389229
You wouldn't even need to do that. The kids frog immediately died a few seconds after it appeared. You only have to try to appearify it, and you'll get the slime as usual.

The problem is finding it. On Earth, with only a coordinate-operated viewscreen. One singular frog in the entire world, only alive for a few seconds. Mostly likely years from the present.

Just make a deal with Echnida, or get really Gud with clairvoyance/luck.
>>
>>48389316
jesus fuck, I thought the appearifier locked on to that shit, that's a NOPE, guess I'll just hope Echidna doesn't give me some stupid deal to find it
>>
>>48389316
oh, oh I see what the problem is, AFAIK the Appearifier used to do frog breeding can ONLY find/target frogs that exist in the present, and the way you get the slime is by planning to grab it later, in which case it must still be there, thus paradox slime. What I'm suggesting is NOT planning to grab it, so I get the real frog, then planting it somewhere for ez grabs later so I can slime it.
>>
>>48389363
Nope, appearifier needs to be manually locked onto every single frog. With the possible exception of the first one it locks onto, when its deployed. There's a reason this normally takes weeks...

Echnida's deal with Jade was her taking along all the planets and inhabitants into a new session, as the one they were in was about to be retgone'd.

Kanaya's deal was only described as 'impossible', and she refused it. Which is why the Trolls didn't find their last frog.

>>48389402
No, I'm pretty sure it can also target frogs in the past and future. Appearifiers are bullshit.

The frog in the Kids session was dead for years by the time the game even starts after all.
>>
>>48388979
CP bump? You mean will they get something more than they've already got? Plans for now is 'no'. They already had their price reduced to 800 from 1000.

As for your build, you need to drop 100cp from something, you're currently at 1900cp out of 1800cp.

>>48389090
Yes. If you qualify for two discounts for an innate talent you get it free, Player or Local. So Player Drop-in's get bestiary knowledge for free.

>>48389193
Lowered Custom NPC costs. You can get a pair of them now for only 300cp as a Player. Additionally Players get several freebies, such as the 50cp for themed aesthetics, the first level of personal inventory free, a free lvl 100 'summoned mount' item if the Player has lvl 100 themselves (that's a free extra lvl 100 fighter right there, compared to the Local), and then get heteromorphic races discounted. That seems viable enough to me.
>>
>>48389452
>Yes.
You might want to note that in the jump, currently it seems like that is not the case since it specifically refers to that as a bonus for locals.
>>
>>48389472
It would seem you're correct. I'll change that.
>>
>>48389451
...so THAT'S why you really need a Time player, gotcha, well in that case, the deal shouldn't be too much of an issue, since I don't think I'm gonna need to use the Scratch so I won't have to deal with that, and the other task was probably only "impossible" for bullshit troll reasons.
>>
>>48389452
>As for your build, you need to drop 100cp from something, you're currently at 1900cp out of 1800cp.

>>

Also, why are you restricting Super-Moves to to Origins and not specific perks? If super moves are part of a class, make them part of the class, or Class and Perk combination, not Origin.

Right now you have it so Drop Ins/rogues cannot use Super Moves or Over Rank skills no matter what or how many warrior or magic perks they buy. With all the level combinations Yggradsil is supposed to have, that does not seem right. (I.E. Restrict Aegis to Level 100 Defense Focused Class Perks)
>>

>>48389580
I mean, it'll probably be a struggle because I'm still in the early stages of my chain (SBURB is either going to be 9 or 10) but it's doable
>>
>>48389536
Plenty survivable. You've got Nazarick backing you. So long as you're rolling deep in bodyguards you should be fine, just don't try to assault the Rival Guild headquarters.

As for direct combat, pretty solid. Divine class skills is great for combat casting thanks to being a mix of cleric/druid spells, and magic warrior and defense focused mean you're both good at melee and can take hits like a champ. Angel race just make your divine spells that much better.

Just, you know, make sure you're rolling deep with bodyguards. Or inside Nazarick. You don't want to caught on your own with the Rival Guild after you.

>>48389574
Super Moves are restricted to Warrior origins for the same reason that Over-Magic is restricted to Magic-Casters. If they weren't people would just go drop-in and buy the relatively cheap class skills from the other two origins to get super-moves and over-rank magic 'for free'.

If people want the goodies they have to be the right origin, simple as that.

I'm a double genius earth bender with a few thousand years of experience. So I'm planning on creating an earthquake, opening up a giant maw in the earth, dropping the Rival Guild down a few thousand feet, and then force the maw closed again.

There may be some simultaneous strikes ala my Hammer of Dawn, but that'd just be to underline the fuck you I'm delivering.
>>
>>48389619
>If they weren't people would just go drop-in and buy the relatively cheap class skills from the other two origins to get super-moves and over-rank magic 'for free'
The thing I do not really like about Drop In in Overlord is it does not seem like it is part of the setting. Warriors get Super Moves and Mages get Over Rank skills, but your rouge analogs suck at both.

IS You can have Over Rank or Super Moves, but not both an actual part of the setting? When you were talking about abstracting the levels, I assumed buying both a Warrior and a Mage class meant you picked levels such that you had both...

>>
>>48389634
Against Nazarick, a guild without a real healer? Put up some kind of nosell shield around the place, it's important that this shield be technological in nature and that it remove the possibility of any kind of teleporting.

Right before you do that, you toss in a dispenser full of nanites capable of delivering Umbrella upgraded versions of the FR Spellplague.

Then you let that marinade for a while, keep the shield up for a few years. Send the signal for the nanites to self terminate, and start cleansing the place with more nanites.

Once it's clean, send in drones to recover whatever items you want and then fill the place in.
>>
>>48389619
So its actually impossible to ever attain over rank if you're not a caster? Is the New World bound by game mechanics as well? Does that mean that you're also capped at your abilities one you hit level 100?
>>

Eh, even if that's true... They're buried beneath the entire now-collapsed Tomb, and most're probably suffocating. Whatever.

Brelin has stated that he's not running with that mechanic, though. Using the 3.5 model if you were a level 30 character with wizard and candlekeep scholar levels, you'd have, for example, 20 wizard levels and 10 candlekeep levels.

Brelin has stated that, using the above example, we'd get the full benefits of level 30 wizard and 30 candlekeep. Substitute those classes, wizard and candlekeep, for whatever you want and you begin to see the advantage.

Sword of Damacles was implied to be the 'cast nuke' equivilent in Over-rank magic, and was specifically stated to not be able to take out more than a single floor at once.

There's also a serious question as to whether or not Nazarick's floors are actually underground or dimensionally displaced. Logically speaking, given the size of the various floors, there's no way they could all be underground stacked on top of each other the way the canon picture of the various floors of Nazarick shows us. And who knows where the treasury is in relation to everything else.

>>48389665

Also this.

>>48389718
No certainty the Rival Guild is actually on the ground. They could be in a flying sky fortress. I mean it's your jump, so you could say they're based on the ground, but we've got an actual canon example of a flying sky fortress guild base.

>>48389736
You can't get into the treasury though, where all the loot is stored, without a ring of ainz ooal gown. Which is either in the hands of Ainz or one of the floor guardians. Even if you vaporized everyone with a nuke or something all you'd have done is locked off any potential method of getting to the treasury.

>>48389805
Jump fiat, also yes it is not possible to get over-rank magic unless you are a magic caster origin. Just like you don't get super-moves if you're not a warrior. Also technically yes there are still game mechanics limits being enforced. Ainz can hold a sword but can't swing one unless he made it with magic, cause he doesn't have any melee classes. Whether or not that applies to a jumper you can fanwank however you want (i'd say no, personally) but as far as 'are you capped at lvl 100' the answer is yes. That is where Overlord stuff ends. You've got the highest tiers of magic, the best abilities, and the best stats. At least when you considering nothing other than the stuff available in that specific jump.

Anyone can get tenth tier spells if they're level 100 and buy some class skills from the magic caster origin. They're just not as good at it as an actual magic caster would be.

Alternatively you can eventually learn higher level spells even without those class skills, but it will take you a long ass time and you'll need to get there the hard way.

As for your question on several classes thing, you're paying to win with CP. You effectively used CP to find/make/cheat your way into unfair advantages if you take multiple class skills.

I actually have a question about the Alchemist's Laboratory, the 100CP version. Well, a few questions.

-Can they be placed in juncture with/merged with other stores we may possess, such as a farmer's market?
-Aside from potions, can the Alchemist that goes along with it produce stuff like herbal supplements and medications from reagents supplied elsewhere?
-Is it possible to replace the standard Alchemist with one of our own that can follow us?
-Does the store automatically restock any potions/other things made from the laboratory in the back?

Apologies, just curious about something. Pic unrelated.

Out of jump stuff you could deal with plenty of different ways, depending on what exactly you had access to. You've just to keep in mind it's a place that is it eqivilent to Nazarick, which in canon repelled a raid of something like 1600 people. Whom were all the equivalent of low-to-mid Epic D&D characters.

If you've got abilities to manage that let you deal with that sort of thing then you can definitely defeat them.

In jump though, with Powerless holding you back? Your answer is to run and hide like a scared bitch, because that's what they're going to make you if they catch you. Trying to fight them or resist them directly is suicide, if you're operating on just what is available in jump.

>>48390290
World Champ by miles, probably followed by Dragonoid unless you wanted to avoid a potential 'weak to dragonslaying stuff' inherent weakness of that particular form.

Magika jump has something like that. I think it was a spellbook item? There's a perk in SAO that does it to, though I forgot the name of it. >Some last minute changes to the Overlord PDF
If you are the 42nd Supreme Being, what all do they have in the treasury you can use? For yourself and any companions?

I assume there is lots of Legendary, so you could get a set of that.

And there is Divine stuff, but it would not be optimized for anyone's specific class, and the Use Any Magic Item would give you better options.

And a World Item of you don't have one to stop "Insta Loose" when opposing World Items pop up.

I like the Mass Import option, but not that they have NO CP to spend on perks, or their cost. Also rather expensive for companions. You have 500 CP for 600 level 100 Perk, when many others have 400 CP max for 800 CP each + freebies.

There should be synergy between 42nd supreme being and companions. Because Ainz's guild is Hereromorphoc, buying both should give companions option of free hereromorphic race.

On the 'can you merge it' thing .. Sure. It'll still just be the regular size though, so if you're merging it into something huge (cough cough Light of Terra) you might lose track of where it is.

The Alchemist can make other stuff if you show them how. Just keep in mind they're not a superbadass or anything, and you'll have to teach them all over again in new jumps (since it isn't the same person).

No replacing the alchemist or sales clerk though. They're effectively just spontaneously generated by the alchemist shop itself.

The store automatically restocks reagents (quality depending on what level of alchemist lab you bought) and anything needed to actually produce potions (such a beakers, vials, etc etc). If stuff it spawns with is damaged or something it'll fix those at the same time it restocks.

>>48390484
You mean if you're in AOG and take the Rival Guild drawback? Yes, it's effectively Overlord: Cold War Edition just like you said. Neither Nazarick nor the Rival Guild has the forces needed to actually successfully invade/suppress one another.

>>48390487
Nope, it's the level cap. There's really nowhere further to go with the system. 10th tier spells are as high as they go, baring Over-rank magic, and Super-moves are as good as they get on the warrior end.

Nothing stops you from developing new stuff though, you're just not going to be paving new ground into higher power tiers. Not with *just* Overlord stuff though, there's way to much stuff in jumpchain to say it's impossible with access to out of jump abilities.

>>48390518
There's a ton of stuff in the treasury if you're a member of AOG and want to go through it.

As for the mass import options, they get a free origin, free class skill, any other freebies they could rightfully claim, and either realm of heroes or lvl 100. That's .. really damn powerful. Like absurdly powerful. It's basically 500cp to get you 8 walking natural disasters/living-gods.
>>
>>48390579
Powerless, without perks you won't be able to make such super science in a medieval fantasy setting.
>>
>>48390579
well you probably actually WOULD lose quite a lot of it at least since most of it is probably reliant on Memory Perks, which you no longer have
>>
>>48390537
Eh, if you have a build good at hiding, that works. Also, there's the Friends with the Devil perk, so you can hide behind Ainz without being 42nd.
>>
>>48390591
Yes but they are both guilds that pay to win to the extreme.
>>
>>48390612
That still leaves you with run or hide as your only options.
>>
>>48390604

Hey Brellin, I asked yesterday but you might have missed it.

And my NPC, where do they rank among the ones native to Nazarick?
>>
>>48390644
>Not this shit again.
He isn't wrong though, and super science tends to need a lot of intelligence perks to use properly, though the Golden Mind innate talent would mitigate that issue in this jump.
>>
>>48390591
They are Equivalent to the tomb which means a massive treasury. Though the endless lvl 100 comment is poorly thought out they likely have 30 at most or they wouldn't be on par with Nazaric they'd outshine them. the issues are that you cant kill them all at once (biggest issue) at least 2 people can likely cast the perfect revive and they have a base equally capable of repelling raids. so it becomes a war of skirmishes outside both your bases with no progress unless you manage to prevent revival with some kind of spell.
>>
>>48390690
>which means a massive treasury

Yeah, and a few resurrections is going to drain that treasury like an utter motherfucker.
>>
>>48390454
>In jump though, with Powerless holding you back? Your answer is to run and hide like a scared bitch, because that's what they're going to make you if they catch you. Trying to fight them or resist them directly is suicide, if you're operating on just what is available in jump.
The more specific you try make an disadvantage, the worse you have written the disadvantage.

Are you trying to make the Rival Guild have the Jumper specifically? Because the way the disadvantage is written, it sounds like they are a Rival to Nazarick, and not you specifically, and the points come from two pantheons going to war on the ball of dirt you are standing on.

So, maybe deal with Rival Guild by checking them out, finding out which one (Rival Guild or Nazarick) you consider worse, and trying to join the other guild to oppose them.

Or try to make piece between two belligerent guilds to keep the world in one piece. Or try join up with the Platinum dragon to play both against each other.
>>
>>48390656
If the jumpmaker wasn't so shi-

DID YOU PLAN FOR THIS FROM THE BEGINNING, JOJO?
>>
>>48390528
It would be a fairly substantial increase. Realm of Heroes, if you've already got lvl 100, gives you a pretty nice straight-up stat boost. It doesn't give you any new spells or abilities mind you though, but it might make your spells/abilities you already had more effective.

>>48390591
Dead NPC's can be re-made/resurrected via expending gold, but regular resurrection has no such restriction. However the only person with high-tier resurrection abilities in Nazarick *was* Shalltear, and she was dead.
>>
>>48390711

>>
>>48390711

I was in Highschool DxD, and Shalba instead of getting Asia messed with Gaia. (Because she couldn't not save someone, she's way too nice)
Now of course I didn't know this because of being involved with shit, so when I was with the occult club and Shalba goes on and remarks how he tortured her, one can say I got really, really, upset. So unleashing maximum power, I slaughtered him pretty fucking badly, regenerated him, then tossed his ass into space as he wore a amulet that negated all his magic so he could suffer a death unlike any other.
Later, with the big problem over I personally invited the three leaders of each faction for some tea in a quaint spacious tea shop I opened up on a mountain-top to discuss what went on during these terrorist acts. The guys were so spooped by my actions on Shalba that they each brung a majority of their best fighters, all the Archangels, Great Satans and Givernors showed up with their ace teams and shit. It was fucking adorable.

Buy Dark Wisdom and Abyss of Magic. Use it to recreate your favorite apocalyptic mega-spell that you've created during Jumping in the Overlord system. Overcast it. Boom.

Be a Rogue/Talismonger. Spend nine years chilling and making bomb talismans when they can't track you down because Rogue, then sneak in, and layer their dungeon with explosive charges. Boom.

Be a Rogue/Offense Focused Fighter. Assassinate their one player with a sneak attack Dimensional Slash. Boom.

Just gotta be creative.

That reminds me. A query!

As far as I remember, every time you mention the World Items, you describe them as nearly absolute (albeit not the point of the question) and indestructible.

But then, what does that say about the Downfall of Castle and Country getting heavily damaged? Or is that just jump fiat for the three buyables?

Then make them a backstory and personality that works for their role, and perks to compliment it. Local Hero might be a good option for that. Then, pick a Disney or FF sounding name and you're good to go.

Rival Guild 1000

Exactly the same as last time but replaced Talismonger with Spiritualist as Talismonger was by far the least essential thing I had and Spiritualist has more summoning which is what I've specced for in this for some reason.

Also partially made up these as my classes a while back:

Mage 15
Archmage 10
Forest Mage 10
Shaman 10
Trickster 10
Holy Hermit 10
Sol 5
Wild Summoner 10
High Conjurer 10
Gateway 5

Gateway is a straight summoning thing, figured Sol would be my sort of Eclipse equivalent/opposite except a lot (literally) flashier. Worked it in thematically as Light Elves were associated with the Sun in Norse mythology (people sometimes referred to it as the elf-disc apparently). It's all about summoning shiny monstrosities, pilfering loot, making friends with Ainz (figure tossing him an eternally charged laptop and explaining that I'm sort of a player of a different game will do it) and drawback mandated PvP. It's gonna be great.

It's not just about power, it is about choice.

And also making sense. "Hey, here I am the Dragonoid Lord of Nazarick, and here are these 8 companion Dwarves of mine who cannot really be part of this thing I have going on here because the guild was build around the Hetromorphic races, and they do not have that option"

Because you did not insert the Companion INSERTS into setting very well at all.

Also, you end up with Level 100 Yggdrasil Players with Vendor Trash Equipment. Apparently they were all dancing naked at server shutdown, and had emptied their inventories of spare armor of their tier also, because that makes total sense.

Are you paying attention to what I am saying at all?
>>
>>48390664
Nothing stops the Alchemist (or you) from making more finished products mind you. Given nothing else to do the alchemist will just sit around continually making potions for sale/your use.

>>48390671
Your gear is utter shit for your level, but you could probably pick up (non-optimized) replacements from the treasury. Outside of that you're easily on the same tier as Touch-Me as far as as fighting goes, but you've got much better raw stats thanks to being a cheating cheater who used CP to pay-to-win with the lvl 100 + RoH + heteromorphic race combo.

>>48390690
That's not even factoring in the god-knows how many mobs in the 80's and 90's there will be. Ainz was able to spawn multiple mid-80's monsters permanently with just his pocket change (he's never actually dipped into the guild treasury for funds).

>>48390711
Not for the lower level monsters. Which they can afford to swarm with. Even a badass lvl 100 is going to be fucked if a hundred mob's in the 80's or 90's swarm them.

>>48390715
They hate you specifically. The reference to there being a Guild War if you had 42nd Supreme Being was implying that you having the backing of Nazarick wouldn't stop them from coming at you.
>>
>>48390732
How does the Local backstory work if you take level 100 and companions? Isn't your prescence as a pantheon of nine living Gods going to have totally warped the setting already by the time the jump starts?
>>
>>48390732
So say we rekill there shaltear enough times would that be enough. Also how viable is using talsimonger to seal a high cost 10th level spell a day +however much of your reserves regen daily for years and then using them all at once on the enemy base? also can talismonger's seal over rank magic?
>>
>>48390886
thanks, that helps quite a bit
>>
>>48390947
They'd probably view you as some kind of godkin or demigod. Evileye theorizes that's what Momon is when she sees him fighting Demiurge. There are beings in the setting that are descendants of Players, so they'd probably just view you as a really good example of that.
>>
>>48390916
Got a question though.

There's a note at the bottom about Hetermorphic races boosting overall power level. I got the impression before that the races were sort of balanced by the time everyone got to Level 100 as they had the same amount of class levels and there was that whole thing in the canon of Heteromorphs being unpopular because the humans kept killing them. I figure if it was that much of a boost (i.e. beyond the extra special abilities) this probably wouldn't have happened.

Something related is that it's presented in the jump that Elves are good mages compared to other races but if Hetermorphs get a boost that causes them to have "broken open the system" in terms of stats any of them that take the relatively cheap Magical Powerhouse will presumably shit all over them in a magical fashion.

Question is really to what extent does it matter and should I (or anyone who chose a human race really) trade up to a Heteromorph if I want to be the best damn magical man I can be.
>>
>>48390940
Is it intentional that the Ring of Eru doesn't grant scrying protection?

Do imports also get the gear discount/budget?
>>
>>48390793
First one is an option, but not if you're Powerless. No out of jump stuff, remember?

Second one is assuming you've got 9 years of relative safety. You don't. You don't have any years of relative safety. Ainz is one of the best PK's around, and the PK 'find the dude through their scry protections without them realizing I did it and then scry-and-die them' book was literally written by one of his guildmates and which he still has copies of.

Killing Ainz doesn't get rid of Nazarick. All you've managed to do at that point is send literally everything in Nazarick on a roaring rampage of revenge. Additionally Ainz canonically wears a ring that lets him auto-res multiple times if killed. There's no way you're going to be able to kill him multiple times if the short timeframe you've got before he either leaves or gets backup.

>>48390803
Depends on the tier of resurrection. Higher tier stuff can punch through effects that prevent resurrection. We know this because Ainz specifically uses a spell to block low level rez's when he kills Gazef in canon, to honor the fact that Gazef didn't want to be rezzed.

>>48390831
Magical energy is it. The gold needed for NPC rezzing is if you're using the 'remake this NPC' option that guild bases have.

>>48390845
This.

>>48390855

Dark Wisdom. I've seen the spell cast once, so I can recreate it even if I'm Powerless.

For the second, I'll just pick up a World Tier item and then I get my nine years. World defense beats everything's offense, right?

Good point on the third. I guess I'll need to steal his ring first. Anyway, leaderless they're going to be much less of a threat, and as a Rogue with a World-Tier item, good luck actually finding me.

>>
>>48390930
You got your choice, the choice is you get to mass import now. When previously you couldn't.

Only guild members were heteromorphic races. Your imports aren't guild members, they're either NPC's or not associated with AOG at all. And we know that the 'human races' can be in Nazarick, Mare and Aura are literally both dark elves.

As for the 'their gear sucks' bit, yes, their gear sucks. That's the price you pay for getting up to 8 living demigods. It's not like it couldn't happen , it's canon that the AOG members that left the guild just gave away their equipment, which Ainz later put on the golems guarding the treasury.

I am paying attention to what you're saying, but what you're saying doesn't really matter to me. 500cp to import 8 companions into becoming walking WMD's is already dirt freaking cheap. Especially when YOU, the jumper, don't need to buy level 100 yourself in order to do it.

>Themed Aesthetics If you’re a Warrior you appear to be physically powerful and imposing. If you’re a Magic Caster you appear to be a wise and erudite academic. If you’re a Drop In you appear to be a charming and affable rogue. Bottom line whatever you might be you tend to evoke the image of a classically good looking version of it. For 50 CP you’re beyond just being good looking and are easily one of the most handsome or beautiful people anyone can name, as if your looks were handmade by a masterful artisan. Which, given the nature of YGGDRASIL, they very well might have been.
>>
>>48391104
No, that is just silly!
Now, if you had danced around naked to get that World Item you always wanted from another player just before the game ended, that would be ok.
>>
>>48391105
But where did we come from originally? I'm not asking what other people think of us per se, but what we've been doing. Drop-Ins are Drop-ins, but what memories do I get if I'm a warrior or mage? Have we all been training out under a waterfall for our entire lives to turn into the super strong freaks we are or have we actually been making an impact on the world?

Fair enough, I was wrong.

>>48391104

if you raise someone as an undead does that block rez from the enemy side? Can you rez the enemy with low tier rez spells to permanently weaken them? could you spend 8 years developing an overrank that prevent non overrank revival? since cleric power in overlord is based on faith how would insanity spells effect it in your opinion a jumpmaker?

Make. It. Up. Like any other origin, make up a backstory/memories that makes sense for that Origin and the Perks you purchased.

And now I understand why they ended up shutting down. This game sounds like the worst MMO ever.

>>48391259
Speak for yourself, dude. If Yggdrasil was real I'd probably go broke playing that fucker.
>>
>>48391259
>massive, massive pay to win system
That still had Momonga, noted to use it WAY more than the other members of the guild, as a "weak" High Tier Player
>reward players for fucking up their game
He used his imagination, and the skills they gave him, to do something they never expected players to be able to do. What's wrong with rewarding that?
>design a dungeon 1600 top-level people can't beat
Any guild can do that with smart design, Ainz Ooal Gown didn't cheat in the making of their Dungeon, they just were smart about how they made their NPCs.

Most of that Raid died against Aura and Mare. Mare is noted as "The strongest Magic Caster in Nazarick"

You were busy doing something nebulous. Or staying on the down-low. Fanwank it.

>>48390981
Also this, assuming anyone actually knows how powerful you are. Feel free to fanwank on that too.

>>48391007
In canon it worked like you said. In jump you pay-to-win with CP to get all the racial goodies front loaded without having to 'waste' levels on racial levels. This was done to balance out the cost of the heteromorphic racial options, since having them all be free would have been moronic. Also to balance it out against the Realm of Heroes option, to make the Player option more competitive.

Heteromorphic race + magical powerhouse (assuming everything else is equal) would be more powerful than an elf with magical powerhouse. But then being an elf is free, being a heteromorphic race is not.

>>48391049
Yes it's intentional the ring doesn't have those protections. It's to make the other world items competitive. That and if you're buying the ring you're probably a magic caster, which means you should be able to source your own protections.

As for imports getting item discounts and a budget, no. It says that at the top of the item section.
>>
>>48391259
Yeah, it sounds like they're kinda fucking up massively with those... On the other hand, it's got ridiculous detail and a ridiculous amount of options for customization.

Pretty much just Albedo and/or the twins, but each of them has too many issues to become companions. Crazy about Momonga or looking too young even if they aren't
>>
>>48391391
Use that power from Jade Cocoon to usurp Albedo's loyalty, and take her.
>>
>>48391320
Might just be me but that sort of makes choosing a Heteromorphic race/42nd Supreme Being an obvious choice rather than the difficult one it was before.

I dunno, feels like before there was a pretty even amount of both Heteromorphic and human races but now there isn't a lot of reason (for me at least) to choose Local.

I mean the Innate Talents are cheaper and they have more CP left over for Class Skills but specialising in a bunch of things that you're never going to be as good at as there's an option so powerful it breaks the established system just seems sort of silly.
>>
>>48391474
They don't just LOOK too young, they might be "76", but they are still kids by Elf Standards.
Aura even comments that she's not done growing up yet early on.
>>
>>48391491
Pick Local. Heteromorphic race is 200 to 500, and the best Player gets is 250. So you're 50 CP better going for Local and picking up the trio.
>>
>>48391320
>>48391491
Another point as well I guess is that it's a hell of a lot easier to get the full 800 CP in drawbacks if you go 42nd Supreme Being as you have a bunch of powerful allies and if you grabbed Realm of Heroes you're more powerful than any of your enemies could ever get.
>>
>>48391555
Local is still more optimal in getting pure power.
>>
>>48391128
You didn't see it with Dark Wisdom though.

World Item would help, but then you probably don't have divine gear, so your gear sucks balls. Which is going to cripple you in combat. Additionally sneaking into the guild base isn't going to work. Even if you're a lvl 100 rogue you're not getting through there without being detected. To move from floor to floor you have to go through teleport gates, and the gatekeeper (Lastborn of Pleiades) will instantly know you've used it and will redirect you to any number of prepared 'kill invaders' death-traps.

Nazarick leaderless is way more a threat than without. Ainz doesn't do really anything when it comes to the actual day-to-day function of the guild, or the planning or strategizing. All you'd have done is ensured literally every surviving member has nothing focused on their mind except for murdering you, and won't stop until it happens no matter how many countries they have to raze to the ground in order to find you.

>>48391129
Would you consider an out of jump magic to be a perk, skill, or ability? If so then you don't have it, cause Powerless seals those away. Dark Wisdom isn't going to help you here because you're trying to use it to circumvent a drawback, and drawbacks work via fiat.

>>48391224
Fanwank on that first one. People can refuse rezzes if they don't want them. Probably not, that's super specific. How would you even research it? Murder a bunch of people and the try chain rezzing them until you found a method to block it? It's not faith, it's belief. If you believe your spells will work (as a divine caster) then they will. If an insane person thinks their spells will work then their spells will work, they'll just be insane while doing it.

>>48391259
To be fair Nazarick was originally beaten by only 41 people. The juggernaut it turned into over the years was the result of those same 41 people (all bored salarymen, basically) dumping time and money into it.
>>
>>48391590
Possibly, I mean this guy:
>>48391548
makes a good point but I guess that really depends on how different the power levels are of Heteromorphic Races from one another. 300 CP off from the 42nd thing makes more of a difference if the expensive ones get significantly more raw power.

My main point is that there doesn't seem to be any reason not to go Heteromorphic anymore.
>>
Now. Time for a question that's gonna make everyone cringe, groan, and scream "Fuck you anon."

Sacrificial Bestowment + Level One Hundred be any effective?
>>
>>48391670
Stop whining. Some idiot made the same argument about Level 100 yesterday. That's just how the Jump is. Don't like it, don't Jump it.
>>
>>48391713
That would take for fucking ever and you wouldn't be giving LV 100 you would be giving your powers that are at lv 100.
>>
>>48391393

If you get the bracelet or anklets and are reasonably smart? It's not hard. But then you paid at least 200cp out of pocket and probably don't have terribly great gear for that protection, which limits you on what you could have bought from the rest of the options available in the jump.

Really the bracelet and anklets are the 'easy mode' of dealing with the powerless and rival guild/WoN drawbacks, in that they remove scry-and-die as a viable tactic against you.

That said, yes, they will be searching the globe for you. They have you after all. If they hear rumor or have even the slightest inclination that you are in an area they will send (expendable) minions to check. If you are there they will send boat loads of expendable minions to get rid of you.

Basically if you're careful and smart about your actions and willing to go to ground and not make any waves or anything for the ten years you're there, *and* bought the bracelet or anklets, you can survive.

Now ask yourself how many jumpers would seriously do that instead of thinking they were hard enough to take Nazarick/Rival Guild on their lonesome? Considering some of the responses I've seen the answer seems to be 'not many'.

>>48391491
Not really? Lvl 100 and heteromorphic race is basically the same as lvl 100 and RoH, except the hetro-race has some special abilities thrown on top.

Additionally not everyone wants to go the AOG route. That rather solidly locks you into a very specific scenario (being one of the leaders of Nazarick) which you're not likely to be able to get around even if you wanted or were inclined to.

>>48391555
Singularly more powerful, which is an important distinction. You can easily still get mobbed.

>>48391590
The pure power choice is 42nd Supreme Being. The resources of Nazarick are far superior to anything you could have as a singular individual (just going by what is on offer in jump).
>>
>>48391713
I doubt it. Sacrificial Bestowment doesn't just grant the power, it grants the ability to learn the power. So grinding the Level 100 magatama to completion would probably take as much effort as just attaining Level 100. It would accomplish nothing.
>>
>>48391746
I think you're overselling their ability to actually mount an offense with only one Player. Why aren't they ruling the world by now?
>>
>>48391746
>Basically if you're careful and smart about your actions and willing to go to ground and not make any waves or anything for the ten years you're there, *and* bought the bracelet or anklets, you can survive.
Oh, okay... Well, that simplifies stuff.

Thanks.
>>
>>48391713

Level One Hundred is a perk booster, you'll need to throw in some class skills perks if it's going to do anything. And I believe sacrificial bestowment is only one perk at a time, if I'm not mistaken.
>>
>>48391746
Heteromorphic Race is explicitly free levels on top of your current levels.

Making you effectively Level 140.

I'm sorry but the best possible level 1 character is not going to make up for a forty level difference against a level 41 character.

>>48391735
>>48391750

>>48391801
>you'll need to throw in some class skills perks if it's going to do anything

Fair enough. And you're right, it's one Magatama at a time.
>>
>>48391772
Because Ainz is reigning them in, If they wanted to Nazarick could conquer the world easily. There is only one known person in the world that is comparable to a lv 100 Nazarick NPC.
>>
>>48391772
Because Ainz doesn't want to stomp the world, he wants the people to love him which requires the change to come from within the other countries so he is taking the slower route.

Ainz on his own exterminated an army of over 180,000 people with 1 spell. He is one of the less powerful beings in nazarick, at least on his own.
>>
>>48391305
It's not about cheating, man. No one is talking about cheating. It's about the game being fucking poorly designed. It's balanced like shit.

>>48391839
To be fair that was an Over Rank spell with about a minute of cast time.
>>
>>48391772

..What? Did you miss the legions of monsters that Nazarick has? Why on earth would you think that they only have one guy for projecting offensive power?

>>48391800
Not to say you couldn't survive without the anklets or bracelet, it would just be tremendously more difficult.

>>48391812
No it isn't. You don't get extra levels, you get the racial powers front-loaded. Without the levels.

It's explicitly equivilent to Realm of Heroes as far as the stat boost goes. Realm of Heroes makes you 'a solid mid-tier lvl 100 character, even if naked, or top 1% with good gear'. Notice how it doesn't say 'you're the equivalent of level 140'.
>>
>>48391887
Ok that is fair. I like fallen down more myself.

It was a good game, apparently. One of the most popular games of its time, and it lasted 12 years running. It was entirely possible to play without doing pay2win, Ainz just was a bored salaryman with money to spend and Yggdrasil was his escape from the crushing monotony of his day to day life.
>>
>>48391937

No. What part of equivalent boost to RoH didn't compute? What part of 'lvl 100 and RoH makes you top 1%' didn't compute? Top 1% players were still lvl 100, NOT lvl 140. It is literally as simple as that *and* it's actually written like that in the jump document. I know because I just checked. And before anyway says that I changed it, the paragraph talking about lvl 100 and RoH in the notes section says the same thing in the old document as it does in the new one.

So I'm wondering when I should go to RWBY. Let me explain.

>want to be able to remove Grimm from the premises - not just one, but in vast numbers, hopefully all of them
>also gotta get rid of Salem somehow, but she's behind 7 prox- I mean super-Grimm (and probably more than 7), and I don't know if I can lock her away or if IT HAS TO BE THIS WAY
>planning to spare Cinder and company, but can't decide whether to jail them or drag them kicking and screaming into goodness.
>want to stop the CCT hack, but my battle plans are reliant on things going as canon up until the Singles Round of the tournament, so that sucks
>want to have pic related be the one to take on Merc, but wondering if that's overkill

As you can see, I have some kinks in the plan I need to iron out.
>>
>>48391971
Man, it must really have been a dystopia if that kind of P2W bullshit existed and it was still considered good. All other games must be extinct.
>>
>>48392034
>No. What part of equivalent boost to RoH didn't compute?
Basic logic.

Seriously, look at this from a game design perspective. If Level 100 is so powerful that literally everyone takes it, maybe there's a problem with the Jumps balance.
>>
>>48392034
Having a world class Item would protect you from the MC dress right?
>>
>>48392082

>>
>>48392034

>>
>>48392082
Do you not understand that the jump and IP of Overlord does not take place in an actual game, so arguing for game mechanics is a bit retarded?

Game mechanics are part of the jump, as they are part of the IP, but in the canon of the IP, where the narrative takes place, they are not in Yggdrasil. They are not in a game in Overlord.

What are you going for here?
>>
>>48392037
I don't think you can get rid of them. the RWBY jump enforces a drawback that causes the Grimm to level-scale. You start wiping them out in mass and you're going to start running into anti-jumper Grimm. Or at least that's the way the jump implies it.

>>48392073
They had to wear gasmasks to walk outside because the pollution was so bad, and apparently the guy that plays Ainz generally has to wipe himself off with a towel in order to get all the airborn particulates stuck to his skin off of him whenever he walks outside.

So .. yeah, pretty dystopian.

>>48392082
I believe you have failed reading comprehension here multiple times now.

Level 100, plus Realm of Heroes, makes you 'mid tier as a lvl 100, even while naked' or alternatively 'top 1% if you've got good gear'. Top 1% of Yggdrasil is STILL level 100. Not level 140 as you're claiming. Heteromorphic races, in jump, give a bonus to stats roughly in line with Realm of Heroes. Aka: mid-tier if naked, top 1% if with good gear aka: STILL only level 100.

Does that make it easier to understand? It is only if you take all three that you break open the system, and even then it's not by so much that you can just shrug off another lvl 100.

>>48392085
Yes. Also just not being near it would also work.
>>
>>48392037
Mid-chain, then. Strong enough that you can just clown on everyone there, not so strong that it's boring.
>>
>>48392082
What I want to know is what's the point of RoH? It's just a shitty version of Level 100 that anyone who actually matters can kill you if you have, and if you already bought Level 100 then you're better off with useful perks than the mild power boost it gives you. At best with those two and Heteromorphic two other players of equal level can probably gank you, so it's not a real difference.
>>
>>48392095
Heteromorphic Races should still be for fucking specialization rather than generally being the best idea ever. If it's equal to RoH why the fuck would you take RoH when there's cheaper options that give you the same damn bonus? There's three Heteromorphic Races that cost less than RoH so why take RoH unless you want to stack it with Level 100?

>>48392136
If I tried making Momonga in this jump, I'd wind up stronger then him be default.

And if he had designed the jump in such a way that you could not be as powerful, or stronger, than the MC then there would be people crying about that.

You've made your case. You have an ideological position on the nature of jumps and jumping and the creator of this particular jump may not agree with that.

Can we move on now?

>>48391727

>>48392002
Combine them alt forms.

>>48392177

There's a World-class item, Downfall of Castle and Country, that gives t4he wearer the ability to mind control anyone, even those who are supposed to be immune. Much like The Purpose of Life is Death, people interpret that as "no immunity ability from any setting can apply to this". So it's a pretty nasty bit of mind control.

2. I went damaged Focused warrior here are my ideas for the boost, 2a.a strike that "cannot miss" I.e hittscan with aim bot and always hits a weakepoint 2b.Army slaying Stance think the ridiculous stuff that can happen with the D&D Cleave Feat tree 2c.perfect draw and strike that always hits first.
3. is a Tame'd Wind elemental appropriate for a mount for such a character?

Fiat immunity trumps everything but there isn't as much fiat level MC immunity in JC. I think Incomprehensible from YJ is the only one, most of the others are just giving you a form of immunity canon to the setting.
>>
>>48392264
Shalltear is immune to mind control. It mind controls her.
>>
>>48392249
It's not great on other players, but most players hired NPC's to group with them via the mercenary system, and it was useful against regular enemies as well. Dangerous raid boss? Now it's someones pet.

>>48392264
That's what it literally does in canon. Shalltear is immune to mind control, DoCaC mindcontrolls her anyway.

We're not talking 'she had some magic items to prevent mind control' either. We're talking 'her race literally has immunity to mindcontrol' levels of protection. DoDaC flat out ignoring it.
>>
>>48392291
this is only true for low level jumpers. A high level one may not need or desire this raw power and instead get more utility out of other perks.
>>
>>48392291
You just seem to like flinging shit, I have seen a bunch of people who didn't take level 100 if you don't like it don't jump it but stop posting lies.
>>
>>48392244
Who's more powerful, someone who has level 100 or someone who has literally every perk in the jump, barring companion imports?
>>
>>48392355
>someone who has literally every perk in the jump

If you have literally every perk in any jump you are more powerful than 99% of the people in that jump barring special bullshit.
>>
>>48392355
*every other perk
>>
>>48392338
A high level jumper would benefit the most from being a level 100 magic caster with the amount of spells they can cast. You need to be stupid not to pick level 100.
>>
>>48392355
This question doesn't even make sense. "Who is more powerful someone with 1 perk or someone with all of them?"
>>
>>48392355
No out of jump stuff? The lvl 100 guy could probably just step on the guy that doesn't have lvl 100. Might consider them a particularly large speedbump, at most.
>>
>>48392383
But the conversation is about lvl 100 vs other purchases not lvl 100 vs being a random mook.
>>
>>48392337
So world class item, fiat level immunity, or bust?
>>
>>48392405
Read the notes section 'on world items vs divine tier'.

I think Level 100 would still be stronger personally, that's how it reads anyways-

>>
>>48392391
Explain how come a lot of people have not taken it then? Nit everyone has this mindset that one perk equals infinite power like you do and many people in fact do not take level 100.

ID jump update

>New drawback
Changes highlighted in green

Resistance Race abilities not finalized and subject to change and as always, suggestions will be given consideration.
>>
>>48392242
It's an alt not the regular this is actually part 2.
>>
>>48392415
It mostly comes down to the high-level nullification stuff that every lvl 100 character gets as part of the lvl 100 perk. It's even underlined in the perk itself.

They can basically just ignore low level people exactly like Ainz did against Go-Gin, the Martial Lord, in volume ten.
>>
>>48392453
I thought RoH overrides that.
>>
>>48392438
What is this from, anyway? The little shota looks familiar, like he's from a Rune Factory game or something.
>>
>>48392453
Doesnt realm of heros put tou above that lower threshold though?
>>
>>48392462
Realm of Heroes lets you potentially get by it with your A-game. You still have to deal with their regular defenses even if you can manage it though.

Basically imagine if a level 60 tried to fight a level 100 in WoW.
>>
>>48392082
Why are people replying to you seriously when the jumpmaker and everyone else told you to fuck off? Why are you still talking when you said YOURSELF that you were done?
>>
>>48392475
It's from a deviantart by someone named Matsu-sensei.
>>
>>48392417
Most people intend to spend the CP elsewhere and then grind their level up when they can.
>>
>>48392523
Well, I figured it wasn't official art, yeah. But is it fanart? Because it does look familiar.
>>
>>48392313
Proof?
>>
>>48392530
Those are his OCs.
>>
>>48392530
I think these are original creations by the person. Not sure.
>>
>>48392496

But a character with literally every perk other than Level 100 would still get wrecked?
>>
>>48392543
>>48392549
Huh. Guess it's just the style, then.
>>
>>48391320
>In jump you pay-to-win with CP to get all the racial goodies front loaded without having to 'waste' levels on racial levels
So your racial abilities do not scale with your level at all? A level 100 fallen angel would have the exact same abilities as a regular RoH fallen angel?
>>
>>48392566
Yeah but they could also grind to 100 over centuries and slap the just level 100 guy's shit.
>>
>>48392571
Lately his style's gotten a lot worse.

Like, he's trying to ape Shadman, Sparrow, and a few other "artists" of that bent, but he's... Not really good at it. At all.
>>
>>48392566
Look at it in D&D terms. Someone who is a level 100 fighter or cleric or whatever vs. someone who has 1 level in everything. Think about things like saves and BAB and spell progression and all that.

The 100 will be far more narrow focused, but will be more powerful in terms of damage dealt and mitigated.

Who are you going to back in that fight?
>>
>>48392435
What if I don't want independence?
>>
>>48392566
I imagine it'd be pretty easy to outsmart them with big keikakus and such, doubly so if we're including talents. But I don't see how they could win in a one-on-one fight.
>>
>>48392435
Best drop this at the beginning of the next thread, m80. Dropping a jump in autosage rarely works.
>>
>>48392590
>Shadman
>Sparrow

... I just want to tell you, anon. Fuck you.

I looked up these two to see what you meant. Biggest mistake of today.
>>
>>48392590
>Good at it
Anon, those artists are shit anatomy wise even if he was 'good' at aping them. They're popular because of idiots who go full hedonist and that's what those people draw, super exaggerated shit, but their actual anatomy skills are trash tier.
>>
>>48392435
Drop-In needs to have an option to remain human, for the Always Drop-In, Always Human weirdos.

I'd put resistance race stuff /after/ the normal perks. That may just be me though.

Are those resistance-race perks exclusive? Also... roll-based discounts, ugh.

Why are Wings limited in flight time?

How do Alien perks work with other backgrounds?

Would be nice if the Alien *Name?* perk had an option to shut off the 50/50 coma or sensitivity thing, atleast post-jump.

...I'd like more fluff if possible? But, you know, WIP so I assume that's coming later.

And that's all my comments. Good luck with finishing the jump. It looks interesting to me.
>>
>>48392629
Yeah, exactly.

They're shit, and he's shittier.
>>
>>48392604
I guess you can try promoting yourself as a vassal of the alien overlords.
>>
>>48392590
That's too bad, his art style was a fun combination of sexy and adorable. He should have run with that.
>>
>>48392496
Then shouldn't you be charging a little more than 600 CP to be level 100, or a lot less than that for the other perks?
>>
It suddenly got really /co/ in here.
>>
>>48392626
That's funny, today might be one of the absolute worst days to look up Shadman.

Well it would be a good idea to check it out if you want to know how Shoggoth jumpers get laid.
>>
>>48392673
By putting in thousands of years of effort, yeah. You can do the same for any perk Overlord offers except maybe Drop-In's 400.
>>
Are there any perks that keep cosmetic things like war-/body-paint or make-up on indefinitely, or at least pristine until they do come off?

Also, are there any perks that make any injuries or wounds inflicted upon you "clean" in either sense of the word?
>>
>>48392672
You'd lose. Your BAB, spells, HPs, saves and everything else would be horrible in comparison.

Add to that that the way this mechanic works, you wouldn't be level 20. You'd be a level 1 with a shit ton of skills and abilities.

Read how the mechanic works, your skills are frontloaded and the only two level bumps are RoH and L100.

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of building broad and working for power over time but your example of trying to wreck a straight 100 as a jack of all trades level 1 doesn't work. You'll lose.

Should I feel ashamed that I recognize all of those names?

A little bit, but plenty of the rest of us recognize them too, so at least you're in good company.
