Rerequesting my deathwatch character. He has armor like the guy on the left, and looks like Naked Snake, with the colors of the top. My only specific request outside of those is that he be drawn smoking.

If you decide to give him a bolter, the chapter he belongs use bolt-silencers on all of their arms, and also have a heavy reliance on knife use in cqc, if that helps. Thanks~!

Migrating.
I'm playing the brother in a pair of werewolf twins In this setting, werewolves are permanently in the half-wolf-half-man state, which is mildly suspicious but whatever.

Both armoured fighters, the brother is the lighter armoured of the two, using a pair of katars and a mobile, slightly acrobatic fighting style, though carrying a short backup sword for when katars would be impractical. Enough armour to catch the odd blade or two, but not enough to impede movement. Roughly the level of pic related, though perhaps a tad sparser.
The sister is the heavier, preferring shield and sword, and occasionally a mace. Thicker armour, and far more covering. Fancy tabard underneath the armour, and a fancier cape/shawl when she's not fighting. For game purposes, she has a helmet, but none of us really has any idea how to make that look realistic with a wolf head, so it's up to you.

They're both noble-born with a fine pedigree, though you wouldn't know it from how they carry on. They're a pair of jackasses, only out to cure themselves or establish their own realm because their mother told them she wouldn't allow werewolves in their ancestral castle. The armour and weapons they carry are obviously of high quality, decorated with etchings and filigree where it wouldn't cause problems in combat.

Artistic liberty obviously to be taken, we haven't played them long enough to cement their looks, just a rough guideline of "fine features, smooth silver and grey fur, expensive clothing and gear, rowdy demeanour". It's an either/or deal, they don't have to be together but I'd appreciate it if they were. The sister's player would be just as pumped as me to get something for them, so whichever takes your fancy.

Thread migration part deux-

Requesting an enormous, bald, albino barbarian. According to the Hackmaster exceptional height/weight tables, he's 7'6" and 451 lbs. Dressed exclusively in piles and piles of animal furs, makeshift shoes/boots entirely optional. If you feel like including it, his weapon is a "hammer" composed of a big square(ish) piece of rock and a small stripped tree for a handle.

Sorry for the lack of ref pictures, but if you start with Shaq, then picture him strongfat, babyfaced, hairless, and albino, you've got a pretty good idea.

I need a mobster with a laser gun and net glasses smoking an e-cigar. Mildly futuristic pin stripe suit is nice but not required.

Hi drawthread I would like to request a female Githzerai a race that has next to no good character art I've found. She is a ex-circus performer turned fighter, so her clothes are flamboyant, but loose enough for her acrobatic fighting style. She has a greenish yellow skin tone with black tattoos going down the sides of her body, if the provided style is too annoying you can go ahead and use a simple leopard print following down the same path.

I would love to see her in a pose that shows off her acrobatic prowess.

Hey all, I've got a character I could use art for. She's an important NPC in a Napoleonic style fantasy game, Major Sinclair.

A woman with short black curly hair, that almost looks like a wreath over a proud, imperial face. She has dark blue eyes and very fair, pale skin, with a small mole beneath the corner of her left eye.

Sci-Fi Request:
One of my players in my campaign is playing as a dolphin character that uses a a robotic suit to travel on land. On the right side of the image posted is something close to what I think the suit should look like but it's too big and bulky looking, hence why I have the image on the left because it's of a slimmer build but lacks legs. The preferred style for the robotic look would be like flat sharp and geometric shapes rather than smooth and abstract. Since the character is of military nature it would be nice if there were some weapons but not too much, perhaps a wrist mounted gun or something. Oh and make it look functional since this is a more realistic setting. Other than that I'll leave colours and thing of the sort to the artist. Have a good day all.

As an artist, there is little in your request to work with:

The only thing that is clear is that you like some aspect of the image, but not the overt sexuality.
I suggest identifying what it is you like in the image (Perhaps it’s the style it was drawn in?) and pairing it with a few other details about your character before reposting your request.

The main aspect I like about her design is in the face, the hair style, they way the ears look, the sort of emotion her face gives off, as well as the skin tone and body type.

It's very much a traditional fantasy setting, reminiscent of something like LOTR.

This request of mine was planned to be a vital companion to my friends in an upcoming game. She is an Strix-Aasimar, hence her birdlike features. She is an aspiring cleric, as her father is a paladin, and her mother was an cleric before her. If the robes are too complicated you can simplfy as much as you wish. She also suffers from albinoism, so if coloring is an option, then she would be pretty much all white, save from her weakly blue skin color, with slightly red eyes.
Im sort of sorry if my request is inconsistent or has been changing the past days, but ive just had alot of fun creating her and others.

I just want to apologize in advance if this comes off as jumbled in any way because descriptors have never been my strongest point, also because I'm going to be using a combination of pictures and descriptions.

I'm resurrecting one of my older characters from the hell that is a game that died for a new campaign and I figured that there's no better way to do so than getting some art done for him.

1. Is essentially the face/hair combination I'm after, hair is a dark brown and he's got a bit of five o'clock shadow going on.

As for clothing, he wears a leather vest along the lines of 2. (albeit without the studs) and a sleeveless shirt underneath. As for pants, he wears some generic looking belted blue trousers (for lack of a better descriptor, the medieval fantasy equivalent of jeans) and boots like 3. as well has having his hands wrapped up like 4.

Finally, his physique is something along the lines of 5. and if possible, I'd love it if his stance was similar to 6.

This is a bit of a mess I know, and I'm sorry about that, if you need clarification, do ask and I'll try to help out however I can.

Requesting my exalted character from last thread

He's a thief and a pirate who wears clothes similar to the guy on the left (probably without the jacket though. He dresses light). He has a black newsboy cap like the ones in the picture, but the top of his has a layer of crow feathers on it. He has a legendary artifact staff that's his height made of orichalcum (Gold if you're unfamiliar with it) but the handle is encased in exquisite wood. The staff resembles a shepherd's crook, and that's what the three weapon pictures are for. In addition he also carries a shortsword sheathed on his left hip, a slashing sword on his back, and several throwing knives sheathed in various places on his person.

The character himself is almost six feet tall, has an athletic build, and a charismatic smile. He's got messy black hair underneath his cap, and bright green eyes. His overall colour scheme would be dark, with mostly deep blues and blacks.

I'd like to ask for a guy for a sci-fi setting like the ones in the left pictures. For clothes either a spacesuit or a jumpsuit of any sort you like, the pictures on the right are just there for inspiration. I'd just ask that if it's a jumpsuit it be the tight shiny type. Environment is not necessary and the pose doesn't matter.

The idea is that this character is about 15 and as meek and easily scared as you can possibly imagine. While he constantly ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time and gets way overwhelmed, he also ends up finding a way to make the best of most situations.

I'd like to request art of a female Estalian diestro, a type of duelist from the Warhammer Fantasy setting. Reference is attached.

Facially, I'm looking for something like Gizka - somewhat mannish in shape, though not overtly masculine. No scar, and brown eyes instead of green. Black hair. Her hair is longer, and wavy - see the pic on the top right for a reference. She wears a cavalier's hat, like the one depicted on the right.

Clothing-wise, the woman on the lower right is a reference: it's a well-cut, masculine outfit, obviously something belonging to a duelist, not a soldier. She wears a simple rapier - see bottom left - and a simple flintlock pistol on the other hip, along with a dagger.

Pose-wise, I have a couple of ideas. The first is her binding a wound - preferably on her torso, but if you think the jannies will have a tit-fit, one on the arm would be acceptable too. Her expression would be one of concentration - a wince of pain, maybe, as she's drawing the bandage tight.

The other pose suggestion is a bit simpler - the character standing, sword in one hand, dagger in the other, dropped into a loose combat stance, sword extended. Expression-wise, she'd be alert, perhaps wearing a confident smirk.

I'm not really into large boots on people, just characters, I guess. In any case, the design looks fine to me, yet there's just something bothering me about it. Maybe the feet would have to be too small to fit inside the boots? I think that's it, but it might just be the pants throwing my perspective of size off.

I usually think of the character wearing mostly black or urban camo, like black shirt urban camo pants, but I realize that's not great to look at. Or draw.
I guess I just have something in mind for the pants, but that's it. Just a toss between grey or black, UC, or like neon green with a splash of black, for punk.

Not the exact same belt color as the rest of the pants like in pic.

A friend did point out that she looks mildly like the sirens from borderlands, so I guess here's some inspiration.

Throwing out another request for some space komodos. I've already gotten two fantastic deliveries from (I think) BogRoll and Flurry, so feel free to look this over if you dislike sloppy seconds.

The specific character I'd like is a female basically, less pronounced face ridges and a shorter/rounder snout in scrappy armour of a similar design to the two in the reference - that is, modular and replaceable plates of hard ceramic over a thick rubber-ish suit, sloped at the front and held together by a powered exoskeleton that assists with the wearer's movements in the heavy suit. Partially armoured tail, a power-pack on her back, maybe some electronic readouts on her chest/arms. Exact design is up to your aesthetic preference - it's a big galaxy after all - but it should look like it's been roughed up a bit. Optionally, some Hindu-style bodypaint, or a very loose sari wrap for extra swag if you can make it work.

For the lizard herself, one side of her face suffers from severe acid burns long since healed, and a handful of scars besides. One eye is disfigured from the burns, and some of her brow ridges are missing.

I'd like her half-squatting as she offers some food to an off-screen child, weapon leaned against her side, with her mouth open and baring her teeth (very clumsy mimicry of a human's smile). The weapon would be a large-bore shotgun, but it's up to your preference again. Flavour with any other details you wish, I'm easy.

If there's something I can clear up, just ask, and a super big thank you to anyone wishing to give it a burl - and another to those artists who've already given me art.

Well tracing would be for me that you'd take a pic and follow the lines. Copy is, when you find a picture that has the rough image that you want to make (for example the pose or hands) and I draw after that as in having it beside my drawing program, like left of the screen is windows photo viewer, and right would be PS/SAI/GIMP

There's nothing wrong with tracing when you're learning, the idea that it's "cheating" is a silly modern meme. The old art schools traditionally had students trace things as they were learning to train their hands and improve their line work; Leonardo da Vinci was taught that way, and all of the students he taught were given pieces he had drawn specifically so they could trace over them.

Well she's said herself that she's working to improve, so feedback and criticisms are important.

Rather than just copying blindly from her references, she should really try to study it and several other similar reference images instead. It would help with areas like the neck on this latest drawing. It was covered in the one that was copied from, so it got fudged and just looks odd in the drawing.

I just didn't think that the way I work would be such a debate. It's not like I am selling my work, and I am not tracing, even if it looks like it. But I can't prove that to people, so I'd lose the argument either way.
All I was trying to help people with their character art, that's all. I never said people had to suck my dick for it or anything, and if they don't like the art they can always repost their request.

I completely do this all the time.
My dependence on reference is my second greatest flaw as an artist, slowness being the first.
pic related is a good example, I straight up stole the guy for the sacrifice.
The snake girl is a composite of other references too, but that took more effort.

It's important to learn anatomy and to build drawings up from lines and shapes as well.

No, just someone that's hyper critical of everything they do. I tear my own shit apart hard enough, it sucks when you have everyone 'harping' on you for a mistake. You get frustrated and everything seems worse than it is. People're people, mate.

theres actually nothing wrong with using reference or tracing at the end of the day. if the client is happy with the product youre good to go. however if your aim is to get better at art and actually have understanding of form its best to avoid tracing and just draw from reference. my knowledge of specific muscle groups is still fairly weak so i often look at anatomy books to make sure everythings in order when i draw flesh and muscle. tweak your drawing a little bit to make it different from the reference, move the head to a different angle, arms doing something else etc. all great artists draw from reference but they also have the ability to adjust it to suit their needs and make their work even better.

This is a drawthread, I'm totally okay with tracing. Sometimes it's even preferred, if only to have a solid template to try out different details on. If the drawer does not admit to it, then that'll be their issue to resolve when trying to move forward. I'll just be happy with what I got.

Hey thread.
I'm pretty shit at drawing. But I tried what I could. Could someone perhaps draw this, but better?

I don't have a good reference for the body, but I'd prefer him drawn with the Deer Skull mask and cloak. He uses an obsidian scimitar with several Dire Bear teeth hanging from the handle. He weighs maybe 210, mostly muscle. Maybe wears studded leather armor.

Bit of a complicated request, but I hope it gets completed.R-ing a Slaanesh-esque knight of debauchery who will be acting as the BBEG for my campaign.

>1 The top of his helmet is like this burgonet and covered in gold and blackened silver, topped with a snarling grotesque dragon roosting on the crest of the burgonet.

>2 The true head armor is actually a closed helmet similar to the pic, with the visor forged in the shape of a snarling maw with a thin slit to see through. Mounted on top however is the burgonet mentioned above, so you can't see the tubular crest of that closed helmet. The Closed Helmet also is attached beneath his breastplate, with segmented flexible plates covering his entire neck so no flesh of any kind is exposed (anywhere).

>3 The cuirass is similar to this, with grotesque snarling hound heads serving as pauldrons. Like all his armor they are black and gold lined. His torso bears two wings that wrap around from the backplate, covered in blinking, glowing eyes that radiate a sickly yellow light.

>4 The arm armor is of similar design to this chaos knight by Ian Miller, with spiked segmented upper arms and snarling daemonic visages on the forearm.

>5 All free space of his armor is decorated with embossed figures like these, only of a carnal nature. The free area not covered by eyes or snarling demonic visages depicts a mass orgy of writhing golden bodies that seems to move when looked at too long like a twisting pile of snakes. Obviously as this is a blue board you don't need to go into any detail with these, but a mass pile of nude forms on his armor with as much grotesque horror as you can add.

>6 Also wears leg armor like Ian Miller's chaos knight again, I really couldn't find any grotesque leg armor that fit my mind's eye. If you can think of anything more ostentatious and offensive, go with it.

A hyperactive nerdy rogue | wizard apprentice multi classer. The picture here is really very close to what i'm asking for - the wizard robes, face, hair, body and general feeling match exactly - and I would absolutely use it as a reference pic, but he's laying down asleep, and my drawing skills aren't good enough to make the undersuit look fantasy-tacticool enough. So if someone could draw that wizard kid awake, maybe exploring some ruins, and with his rogue jumpsuit being padded armor, that would be really awesome of you.

Well you're not really asking any one person in particular for something without giving anything in return.

It's more like asking a group of friends who wants to go take a walk in the park.
If the park you suggest is really boring then sure it's a chore, but no one in the group has to feel obligated to go since you didn't ask them personally by name.

Dude, I once drew a request for a grey jedi wearing an edgy face mask with glowing eyes and dual wielding purple and silver lightsabers.
If you can't find a suitable piece of art for a game, just relax and request it, commission it, or keep searching for art that fits that you can download, getting stuff for nothing in return without asking for it.
