It's starting to get a bit confusing but I'm liking it a lot. Some questions.

1. Why do vampires lose out so many types of magic? I could see firedancer being impossible for them but the others being impossible kind of implies they're naturally evil which doesn't seem to be the case.

2. Could there be an urban fantasy option or quest? Something to make the world more interesting but keep most of those things hidden from humanity. I like urban fantasy as a genre so I am biased but hey.

3. Not a question but I suspect Blessing of the People will be used to munchkin the world a whole lot more dangerous. 10x regeneration speed gives +4 points which allows you to add Unseelie flitters. 10x regeneration is not all that much.

Combat- utilizing gravity I would try to speed up allies, slow and stop enemies. When I would get more proficient with the power I would use it for transportation and aggressively.
My goal is mostly an easy going everyday life while improving my abilities.

I went for numbers, because if I'm going to be on a distant colony for an indeterminate period of time, I want a wide variety of women there with me. I've got an Amazon, some MILFs, girls

Inquisitive: By what archaic standards does one measure the degeneration and decay of the soul?

Ancient philosopher believe that writing eroded the mind and corrupted the soul, as all proceeding scholars no longer needed to commit every word and every sentence to memory on the fly as required by oral traditions of learning and apprenticeship.

Confucius scholars and Taoist monks thought mirrors were gateways to the spirit world and its alignment within one's home dictated the flow of positive and negative energy, misalignment invited evil, which slowly siphoned your lifeforce and devoured your soul.

Conservatives from the turn of the century thought that photography stole your soul and prevented you from ascending to heaven upon death.

And even today, the internet and the widespread use of mobile devices have slowly destroyed the attention span of its dedicated users. Many Christians still view these communication technologies as examples of the devil's dark magic.

I think the CYOA I'm thinking of (the one not made by Strife) was called Dark City, but it might've been Dark Tower... In any case, it's the one with the five ways of being a little girl.

Because what we're dealing with here focuses mostly on the semantics and definitions of the subject (as one anon has already pointed out) it seems that if we are to contend that humanity exists, there are criteria for 'humanity' that are physical rather than mental. Mental criteria are already fairly shaky grounds to measure things on; insofar as it deals with things that have a concrete physical manifestation (i.e speech) it's adequate, but it is beyond us to be aware that others think like we do; we simply hold the belief that there exist other minds, and although this is perhaps the most succinct explanation of why other minds appear to have free will, it does not withstand extreme scepticism.

If we entertain this view, 'Humanity' - which is perhaps best seen as a relatively tight group of objects that have certain physical traits - is in this view a matter upon which the precise psychological nature of the subject has no bearing, insofar as it aims to express itself beyond a simple statement of emotional range and approximate 'processing power' (if you will pardon the term).

It follows thus that exceeding the range of approximate intelligence - or indeed falling below it - makes one deviate further from the norm; by deviating mentally or physically far enough from the norm, you will lose the right to be reasonably called human.

Thus to deviate too far from the norm - which runs on primarily biological criteria - is to cease being human. Physical properties are more objective than mental ones, or at least less subjective, and ergo more useful for definition.

Analysis: Even if you base one's humanness primarily on the biological and physiological properties of the human body, you will still run into some questionable arbitrations.

For instance do we measure humanness by one's natural ability to accomplish all the physical tasks by say the 50th percentile of the human population can accomplish human biological and physiological means? Or it so purely based on embryonic origins; one must be born from human parentage in order to be considered human?

If a individual has poor hearing, poor eyesight or has lost a limb or appendage due to a illness or accident and must use a prosthetic substitute in order to properly function as a human being, does that handicap make the person less human? Or for individuals that have very poor or almost no motor function whatsoever such as famous cases like Steven Hawking, are they any less human as a result of their immobility?

Or in the case of origins, are test tube babies less human then babies born completely from a mother's womb? And if cloning technology was allowed to be used on human subjects would cloned humans be less human then the naturally grown equivalents?

Curious: The more thought and processing power invested to compute the ideal perimeters of the human condition, the more questions and mysteries arise.

There is accounting for preference and there is punishing preference. For instance, maybe I'm interested in zombies but zombies in this CYOA are just dumber humans so I go for my second choice as vampires even though I feel I could have made a good zombie.
