Author here, am currently remaking it because I already hate the presentation and how much of a dick I presented DK as.

No major balance changes apart from rewording some things and adding more options but I also added factions.

Removed equipment because, really, it wasn't required and didn't add anything apart from padded the CYOA.

Apart from that, new version is a condensed 6 pages.

To get someone's soul, you have to convince your victims to give you their soul. You can't get souls without consent. But you can kill them afterwards as a sacrifice too. Ritual killings don't grant any bonuses, they are the only way you can do normal sacrifices to fuel your spells (since you didn't take the classic discipline).

This would be even better if I could step outside to feel the wind properly. Especially if the Cloudy option can cycle between extremely dense clouds blown by strong winds to having a few breaks here and there so the moon can shine through, then back again. And if you could control the feeling of incoming rain on the wind. Not the smell, though that's nice too, the actual physical sensation that lets you know a storm is coming, when it's coming, and how big it is up to a day before it actually hits.

As long as you get a person to say "I give you my soul", it's being given to you. Your victims have to make this choice consciously, you can't just write "taking your soul" in a fine print in paper contract, which they will miss, and expect this to work.

To design personality of a homunculus you'll need spells from the Usurpation aspect. Without you'll just a blank state whose personality will be shaped by its experiences. You can set its appearence though.

Level 1 Homunculus will be limited to what is humanly possible, what you described requires Level 2.

The world would probably be around half water, with a sea covering the half opposite my castle. The rest would be vaguely natural, albeit skewed towards large-tree forests and fertile plains.

Into that, I bring the ~3000 people who would most want to come here if given the choice (and don't have any dangerous physical, mental, or genetic disorders, and won't cause significant trouble if they disappear, and...).

I'd give them technology from the castle, recommend they set up cities around the Towers, and help them in other ways like protecting them from attacks. In exchange, I'd have a pseudo-college set up to research new technology and/or magic, as well as keep me grounded.

It's hard to say, because the various rooms aren't explained in enough depth to really differentiate between luxury/standard/defensive variants. The way I'm playing it is that you gain all the benefits of a room type, but with an emphasis on either luxury/standard/defensive elements.

So if you wanted a more luxurious recreation room, the spectral denizens would be more aesthetically appealing and seductive, but would have less athletic/artistic talent. The brothel would be amazing, but the sports would be casual and the various arts would be amateur level.

The point would be to make the whole thing a slaneeshi paradise with the shapeshifting minion getting info about the new victims from the other ones so that it can become a perfect match. With each victim that becomes a raging hedonist from this, I get another minion (more efficient than buying them with points) and I can make my realm ever bigger and nicer on top so that there's even less incentive to leave. I can tailor the experience with major warping and false creation, and also ruse victims into thinking I'm some sort of god who wants them to be happy. Flawless.

There's an old cyoa floating around somewhere with a symbiote option that the author said only the symbiote could shapeshift, they couldn't do shit to change your body in any way. It wasn't primarily a symbiote cyoa, that was just one of the choices.

Study (Observatory) Good to have information, but who will write information if I don't find it first? I supply all the imagination for this world, after all.
Waterworks (Bath House) I value relaxation and hygiene. An open-air bath of marble.
Conservatory (Garden) because I like plants. Populated by birds and butterflies as well. The bathouse is raised above it, and water cascades from the bath into a stream which feeds the water feature.
Showroom (Museum) to store whatever I can dream up, or steal from Earth if I can do that.
Transitional (Labyrinth) for defense and because it's something I may well enjoy walking through myself.

Cannons and towers to deal with large and small enemies abroad. Animation and traps to hinder enemies inside, and make my labyrinth all the more lethal. Paintings to be beautiful and to let me know where to direct forces.

Supplies, servant, and mending should be enough powers.

In every section I wanted more.

You burn your original lifespan, not the extended one you gain from Immortality as noted in Unleash Potential now.
So say you had 40 years left to live, you have 40 years left to burn for Unleash Potential no matter if you have Immortality at full ranks or not. Currently, we think that humans have a fixed maximum lifespan inherent to our biology and even if you took medical equipment to "Increase" your life you'd never be guaranteed that you'd be able to use it until after Unleash Potential has eaten your life to nothing.

Depends on if we can fix inherent biological problems with technology. The problem with gaining advanced medical technology to increase your lifespan is that it'd take multiple pieces of technology to do so in order to fix the many barriers we have to achieving "Immortality" through tech.

That being said, Unleash Potential is still using your "Original Lifespan" so even if you COULD extend it with technology, it wouldn't matter. Think of it like changing the "Default" state your immortality is trying to keep you in. If you used your entire lifespan for Unleash Potential, you'd be setting your default to "Dead" so you'd die over and over again as your body is kept alive by magic that kills it.

In lore, I've suggested that the DK mainly works off of manipulating fate and possibility (Something apparently inherent with being an Eternal) and is just an extremely powerful mage on the side so he'd be taking the measurement of your "Fated" time of death and burning that to fuel your power.

Again, it's using your "Original" lifespan as determined by "Fate". If you were originally going to die 20 years from the offer being made, then you'd be burning away that 20 years with Unleash Potential. You won't find out if you've burned all your life away until after you've returned, at which point Immortality would kick in and kill you, revive you and kill you ad infinitum.

The diary

There is one character I always felt some pity for in worm, Greg veder, hated in the story, and hated by the fanbase, despite the fact the he is just some harmless awkward teenager.

I am going to use the Cauldron vial with the flying ability and my kingmaker powers to help him realize his dream of being a hero, that would give him four powers in total, enough to make him a high tier hero.

I would strike a deal with him Cauldron style, he works undercover for me, joining the PRT and hitting villains gangs, always giving me 70% of all the money he would in those raids to to fund my tinker projects, and in exchange I would supply him with powers and tinker made equipment, and I would use my save and reload+true or false+hindsight to always give him massive advantages and information in the field.

With time he would become one of the top heroes of brockton bay, strong enough to face endbringers or the S9, and I get to relax and work on tinker projects in peace while he is dealing with all the heat, really generous of me.
