I'd hate it to be cliché and all there is to it is vampires, werewolves and witches. I want there to be some kind of conflict that affects you, but you don't have to fix it.

I much prefer a setting where you start out above-average, and can become great with training. RWBY is close. I think it's much better to earn your powers than being given them because you walked into a store, or some "bored god" chose you, and having no challenge or opposition is dull.

Players learn their skills though courses or training, maybe experience through certain events. Instead of "here's 10 skill points, spend wisely", make them have to complete something or go through something to earn a skillpoint instead.

This is the thing, I could start assigning stats to shit, so you can't tank your realm's education and still RP the best diplomats, etc., but that ruins a lot about the original CYOA.
If you ask me, diplomacy and alliances should be RP. Trade needs to be discussed and will probably come down to who bought the natural materials, magical materials, and education and arts proclivities. Defense implies a conflict of some sort, which relies on the Game part of the RP system.

Separate makes defense wildly easier. One controls a chokepoint that is easy to fortify and resupply. It is also borderline impossible to sneak into a separate realm.

I will probably initially submit to the King to let someone else deal with the outside world, but if the relationship proves one-sided or detrimental to my realm, I will declare independence when my fortifications are sturdy enough. If it proves beneficial, I will happily supply weapons of war in exchange for raw materials and access to conquered realms for study. After all, my affinities give three intelligence boosts - who better to investigate new knowledge?

Conquering is too much of a bother and there's too much risk of losing it all to rebellion or foreign invasion. I much prefer sitting in my little isolated kingdom, tinkering away with magitech.

Some of my 'recruiters' napped some minor noble's mother and she joined the herd of slaves. This was annoying in triplicate, as this attracted said minor noble's attention to free his mother, the King of that realm got but hurt over it and word of my kingdom's wealth got out. Honestly not all that worried about the invasions, even if they make it to my realm at the bottom of the frozen sea and then past the Krakens, they'll have to survive getting into the cities proper.

I'm more worried about getting that shard of power before that asshat from the fire nation gets it. I'm not sure why he's all up in my face about showing me how much cooler and grim-dark he is but he's going to run out of resources at this rate. Honestly, who tries to suicide bomb at the bottom of the ocean?

It should be rather easy to escape Kiraim with how tanky and magical I am, plus I can travel through water, earth, and fire if I'm somehow outmatched. After that I'll hopefully wonder about and find somewhere nice to live. Maybe a small village or something where I can enchant all their tools and weapons, and help out while I come to grips with the world. After that, maybe I'll go on to rule some huge area with my powers, and purge those monster haters.

Temperate is comfy. Thunderstorms, raind with occasional snow. When it's summer it's only a mild summer, but still summer.

Castle would be my favorite. The enchanted castle for both looks and utility.

Entrance (Great Hall), entrance combined with a Showroom to have an army of stone knights at the ready. Went with a Great Hall for both a regular entrance rather than a cold gate, but it doesn't have to be too luxurious.
Bedroom (Quarters), going full luxury on this one. Some warding is nice, but I prefer my bedroom as an all in one kind of deal with the best furniture the shard can offer.
Showroom (Museum), going for the stone knights near the entrance.
Workshop (Works), for improving defenses, the Golem and my Mech.
Waterworks (Hot Springs), hot springs sounds most relaxing. Life can be pretty shitty fast without a good way to unwind and tend to your hygiene.

Animation, in combination with Showroom is a powerhouse of soldiers. Used for mostly fighting smaller forces.
Traps, for tower defense type of killing any type of creature breaching my defense.
Golem, for the largest of monster. Has a Tower inside him to grab a few smaller creatures with it.
Towers, for the surge of creatures.
Cannons, to blast foes with an unrelenting barrage.

Really hoped I could get bridge, but I just hope my entrance would suffice as a funnel and stop any kind of abyss creatures.

Nothing for minions or anything? IMO I would not use what Domain master has. Try to keep it more general with more specialized/elite minions, or be better with demographics.

Rooms are a bit unclear. So do I start with the default description of each room type, but the specialized versions take up a slot? It does say I start with a bedroom, etc. for free. I think you should provide a description for each specialization

Mend is really important if there's no subjects/no page 2. Like so important it may as well be free

What's a medium period time? Once per month, quarterly, bi-annually? You can have it be a bit random too like every 1d6 months.

If there's no page 2 for me to have servants/subjects, I may be tempted to just go for a Fortification since I'd be on my own. Less rooms (I'd take Lab, Works, and Gate), more defenses and powers. It may be an entire planet but that doesn't mean shit if you have no one. A stronghold will also depend on whether they attack from space/the sky or a portal in X location.

You're very powerful to deal with the abyss, and you seem to have plenty of ways to keep yourself busy. It's a good thing you have magic, because cleaning and mending will be quite a chore, even with the servant and his/her powers.
