Worry bout that land destruction mayn. Theres no land hand disruption
>>
>>44140127
I always play tower last but stupor and blackmail can sometimes take your land. Really crazy people might use burning inquiry. It's not likely, but it is possible
>>
>>44140169
Good points, but personally I always feel land destruction as more of a threat.
And also, if you need to tap two lands to get out your third Urza Land, you want to have as much mana as possible when Tron is online
>>
>>44140169
There's also fulminator mage to worry about

>>44140230
But other than fulminator, what land destruction exists?
>>
>>44140246

Ghost quarter
>>
>>44140261
Oh yeah thats right
yeah run the one you have the most of first, but who plays ghost quarter turns 1-3 unless you know its against tron, but who runs more than like 2 at most?
>>
>>44140169
3/4 of a Hymn for 3 is probably too slow, huh?

Still, time spiral block always has something that surprises me.
>>
>>44140246
Ghost Quarter I guess, crumble to dust if things get hateful, Beast within. Not a whole lot either but I'd say moreso worrysome than discard
>>
>>44140277

Yeah probably more of a thing after sideboard

Let's imagine that I'm a huge waifufag weeb. What deck should I play in modern? Hatebears?
>>
>>44139731
The Tron player should always try to play Tower before the others so that it is more likely to get hit by land destruction than the others. If the Tron player needs to tap out to find and play another Tower, then they would have 3 mana available whereas the other two lands would produce only two.
>>
yeah my favorite deck is random rares
>>
>>44140312
If they see you dig for it then you're already probably playing it later than the others, depending on your opening hand
>>
>>44140322
Hatebears has great waifus like Thalia and Flickeriwsp
>>
>>44140332
>implying land destruction
It's really dependent upon the matchup/opening hand

>>
>>44140423
I mean, all your land fetches require you to reveal what you searched for, so if you're fetching for a Tron piece it generally means you don't have it, but you can't really sequence at that point anyway...
>>
>>44140322
Jund, Hatebears, Zoo, Storm with 7th edition sleight of hand, tron, gifts. All have at least 1 waifu.

>>
>>44140468
I guess dig was the wrong word, I'm just saying by turn 3+ you are more likely to have drawn into your turn 3+ land than your T1/2 lands, meaning you are more likely to have not had your turn 3+ land in your opener.
They realize this and try to kill your 3rd piece assuming it was the hardest to get, thus having multiples of your third is a good idea
>>
>>44140518
>5 mana sorcery that doesn't win the game and can even set you back
No.
>>
>>44140518
Nah, at least in T1 decks, but the mechanic has a lot of potential

As always with new spells matter stuff, I'm hoping for a decent modern playable cantrip.
>>
>>44140392
I was assuming one of each of the Urza lands in the opening hand since the prompt is allowing us to choose the order.
>>
>>44140518
No.
>>
>>44140577
Yea i agree with the multiples thing, see what you're saying with queing up thirds
Sequencing is still really dependent on how you draw, whether you have eggs or digs, ect.
>>
>>44140577
This thinking works assuming they can't see your hand but most decks have targeted discard or git probe so odds are they'll be able to get a read on what you're doing.
>>
>>44139731

Plant > Mine > Tower

You need Urza's Power Plant to power up the machines in Urza's Mine so they can harvest the raw materials needed so you can construct Urza's Tower so you can finally oversee all your production.

I wanna get back in but I need a deck,

Let me say this, I am a sadist.

I really enjoy decks that cause tears, it doesn't need to be meta but I need tears flowing,

I play YGO online and use multiple Exodia variants because they produce maximum tears.

What is a deck I can play that would make me less than scum and universally hated?

I realize redirect is strictly better, but my landbase is a bit fucked so I prefer the UR cost to the UU cost. Plus my friend (and most burn decks) only has single target stuff so it works out okay.
Plus it's called swerve like how pimpin is that I mean c'mon
>>44142748
I'll post the list in a sec, pretty happy with it tho minus a conundrum I'm having on mainboarding 1 or 2 dispel.

Also got Ral Zarek today for casual. Keranos a shit, Ral is a boss

Bottom is the 15 I'm thinking of taking (no bullying my swerve pls)
>>
>>44143075
why annul?
Why four of them?
Also why a roast and a rending volley?
Also Keranos totally fucks Ral up senpai
>>
>>44143075
Spreading seas are there for da tron matchup (although my friend has moons if I need to borrow em). Could add a molten rain instead. Annuls, idk they seem stronk, could replace with smash to smithereens or something.

Flashfreeze and swerve can be replaced if you guys have any suggestions. Was gonna get a second rending volley but they were out of stock :(
>>
>>44143102
Roast because fuck rhinos/goyfs, I hate big creatures so much.
Rending to counter twin

Annuls are for affinity, basically my line of thought is t1 they drop memnite/thropter/drum/all that jazz, t2 they drop the thing that kills me, so a 1 mana hard counter seemed cool. Again I'm on the fence about em being replaced with smash.
I probably won't put in 4, only 2, but they seem stronk as fuck for some reason.

I like Rals style, Keranos is untouchable and actually a viable sb but does he have a FUCKIN COIN FLIP ULT?!
THOUGHT SO.

Also maybe it sees no play because of attitudes like that.
It seems niche as fuck, absolutely, I mean it has to be niche when it's a 1-mana hardcounter. I'd only take it out vs affinity though, so would it really be *that* ineffective? I agree it'd be nice to have something that deals with artifacts on the board too, like a smash to smithereens, but I still don't get why 2 annul would be bad in that matchup...
>>
>>44143720
Naya company. I think Knightfall is going to overtake it one day and I definitely think Gruul Zoo is better than it.
>>
>>44143661
I don't think Bloom Titan makes up that much
>>
>>44143661
Why does Lantern Control never show up on these lists?

I have a 73% win rate with it overall. Nearly 100% in some matchups. It's a good deck.
>>
>>44143750
There's just better SB options for Affinity over Annul.
There's no reason to waste a slot on Annul
>>

>>
>>44143506
Right, gotcha. Although that might be a little too cute.
>>
>>44143985
Birds is p shit but you want 5 mana dorks to be more reliable
You also don't really need that many companies, the deck is either hyper aggro, win turn 3 or it's playing a tedious game of guessing and navigating.

>>44144004
Love it, having an instant spell that exiles is pretty much what keeps me in games. Takes care of Tron's engines, Twin from going off, big Goyf, Titan, all that shit and since it's one mana it doesn't get countered by spell snare (dispel sucks though) and by the time other decks can use it I can deal with their answers.
The deck as a whole has some good matchups against high-tier decks simple because it can just either out-speed them or because it can just send in more creatures than the opponent has counterspells or burn. Turn 2 4/4's are no laughing matter, especially when most people start the game at 17 life.
>>
>>44144064

The learning curve really isn't that steep though. Sure you have to understand how other decks work, and be able to tell what their threats are. But shouldn't you already know the main meta decks anyways?

The stigma would make sense. And many people do think me an asshole for playing it. And that many people hate playing against it.

But I actually enjoy playing against it. I enjoy trying to find ways around the lock.

Heres a question for you, MTG:MG. I built storm, and I talked about it on here a while back, and had a shitfit about how it went from tier-1 to tier-trash over the few year span I took to build it.

Would it be a good idea to run Quicken and Layline of anticipation so I could cast Days undoing or even combo out on my opponents turn, or would running Izzet Charm mainboard be a good idea, granted its casting cost for this kind of deck is a little difficult, but its three modes are all useful, and how do y'all feel abouta single Banefire in place of a grapeshot?
>>
>>44146931
None of those ideas are good. Maybe izzet charm sb for canonists or something, its kill mode is the only reason you would want it at all.
>>
>>44143803
I'd rather Steel Sabotage as it's strictly better vs affinity but I also like how it can also deal with GW auras
Pros for annul/sabotage vs kill spells:
-only 1 mana
-stops etched champion
-goes over welding jar/spellskite/modular

Are there any other decks that run off enchantments? DnT? Probably not worth it for twin, since the combo isn't crutial to their plan.

RG Tron = fun, but no thanks
UR Twin = okay
Amulet Bloom = sometimes fun, too inconsistent

Infect = okay
Abzan = nope, too fair
Scapeshift = very nice
Naya Company = boring
Grixis Control / Midrange = okay
Living End = okay
Gruul Zoo = alright
Bogles = fuck that, way too narrow
Abzan Company = haven't played it, don't care
Ad Nauseum = no
Knightfall = never played this, but it sucks in testing

Don't count it being printed in Standard, a card like this would be no fun at all! Hope you guys look forward to this Mythic Rare in the new Modern Masters 2016!
>>
>>44156509
Mostly yes.

But you also have to learn to be miserable, because some matchups you cannot win against period. Other matchups may as well just be a coin flip.

Burn is probably the easiest deck to disrupt and have hate against. You can win game 1 without a much of a problem, but game 2 and 3 will be a fucking struggle.

Personally if there is a piss easy deck to play with I'd say that its Affinity or Boggles.

Again? Another one? You would think the buyouts would have stopped after that summer-september period where every weak had 2 card spikes. I think she's gonna go up in price, mark my words modern general, she gives rdw gas and that is a very scary thing.
