If your nowhere near Clones, or at the Temple, your chances of surviving 66 are pretty high

That is assuming of course you didn't return to the temple, answering the distress signal
>>
>>43893440
>off on a solo mission
Basically just anywhere they weren't next to the army.

>>
>>43893440
they were saddled with a defective batch of clones
>>
>>43893491

This picture alone makes the A295 look like the best blaster rifle in all of star wars
>>
>>43893440
They left the order at the start of the war. Not sure if its part of new cannon but in legends a few Jedi didn't agree with the Cline wars so they left.
>>

>Were out away from the Republic
>On an independent mission away from Clones
>Escaped their Clones
>Faked their death
>Assumed dead
>Master sacrificed self for Padawan
>Clones helped them (through EXTREME willpower and an ARC trooper independence streak)
>Force user trained as a Jedi afterwards
>>

>Clones helped them (By removing brain chip)

Fixed for you
>>
>>43893556
There's also according to Force Unleashed Being part of a unit that didn't have any clones in it, I think one of them hated clones and refused to work with any of them.
>>
>>43893655
>I think one of them hated clones and refused to work with any of them

Why didn't Pong Krell just do that?
>>
>>43893655
Kota, so paranoid that he stocked up on secret repositories of weaponry throughout the galaxy, surrounded himself with his own non-clone militia and escaped with his own Acclamator at the outbreak of order 66. Basicly Sarah Connor level paranoia at work.
>>
If you are are working in Legends canon, then there is also being protected by Antaran Rangers or the other Jedi aid groups.
>>
>>43893586

A few clones did know about Fives going crazy, and might have indeed heard about the biochip. Some of the more independent or paranoid ARCs might have seen to getting it removed, maybe leaders even had their whole squads put to help remove it, under the guise of checking it for defects, since Palps was indeed trying to make sure word didn't get out.

There were a few more recklessly independent ARCs who had the willpower to stop themselves, and of course >>43893655 not every unit had to be made of Clones. I'm sure there were volunteers out there. I mean, the Republic must have had some form of police or standing military, right?

Specifically Rahm Kota, who created an army from volounteers from his home planets military.

I would have loved to hear that discussion between Kota and the Council
>>
>>43893687
The Republic didn't have a military.
Basically every planet did have its own, but unwilling to die for anything but their homeworld/race.
>>
>>43893678
He didn't hate clones enough to avoid working with them. He just saw them as disposable people he could use to zerg down enemies.
>>
>>43893703

Guess that explains the Resistance's creation in TFA, a middle-road between Republic Army and PDF.
>>
>>43893678
Because Pong Krell was not just wary of clones but a cartoon villain that wanted to murderfuck the Republic army before he defected.
>>
>>43893535
That is way to way too much baggy cloth for a twilek to ever be wearing. It just aint right.
>>
>>43893699
Rahm Kota is the best thing to come out of Force Unleashed.
>>
>>43893737
Even in the old canon the New Republic/rebel alliance mostly consisted of local sector/militia forces that was fairly autonomous, and a much smaller centralized and separate navy directly controlled by the NR/rebel alliance

One of my F&D players is playing a character thats his apprentice.

I basically described him as Jedi Patton
>>
>>43893777
Absolutely. Though by that same measure, it's sad that he was introduced by that shit series because it means he'll always be tainted by his connection to the game. Also, Juno gets some points. The two of them were probably the only things about that series.
>>
>>43893535

That doesn't look like a loli to me.
>>
>>43893869

They are distinctly different in many regards, notably that lolita is a style of dress and you're a pedophile.
>>
>>43893838
Pft. Juno was utterly bland and uninteresting. The only reason that whole story worked is because the abused stepchild, aka Starkiller, had his sexual/romantic awakening because of her.
Honestly think that TFU was pretty well done, they just had to force the story in a weird way to make it work with the rest of the series, so he didn't really get much of a conclusion for his character ark.

Though in skilled hands I could totally see TFU make a great action pulp flick set in Star Wars, or a very painful coming of age story. Both together is hard to do though.

Anyway, I agree. Rahm Kota was a great character, refreshingly grounded and very comfortable with the role of Soldier and General perhaps even a little too much for a Jedi.

Kota: so yeah guys, you know that army we found a planet we obviously weren't supposed to find?

Council: Yeah.

Kota: and was apparently back-ordered in secret by a dead guy ten years ago

Council: Yeah. Who woulda thought that crazy Sifo-dias had such forethought!

Kota: and was cloned from a guy working for our enemies?

Council: Well he was the best stock.

Kota: and conveniently showed up right when we needed an army?

Council: the Force works in mysterious ways.

Kota: and that we've isolated ourselves with in far corners of the galaxy?

Council: the war needs us, Kota.

Kota: yeaaaaah, so I'm not gonna do that whole thing. I think me and my beer buddies can handle it.

Council: Kota why are you such a renegade you're forgetting your duty as a Jedi!

Do any of the currently canon books prominently feature any of the following:

You could always get two identical Tarot decks and throw out some of the cards

Tarot -> Sabacc

Swords -> Sabres
Wands -> Staves
Cups -> Flasks
Pentacles -> Coins

I-X - > 1-10
Page -> 11 [This is the most confusing conversion.]
Knight -> Commander (12)
Queen -> Mistress (13)
King -> Master (14)
Ace -> Ace (15)
Fool (0) -> Idiot (0)
The High Priestess (II) -> Queen of Air and Darkness (-2)
Strength (VIII) -> Endurance (-8)
Justice (XI) -> Balance (-11)
Death (XIII) -> Demise (-13)
Temperance (XIV) -> Moderation (-14)
The Devil (XV) -> The Evil One (-15)
The Star (XVII) -> The Star (-17)

Remember that in some versions of Sabacc the card value is inverted if you get the card upside-down, so for instance a upside-down Demise would give you positive 13 instead of negative 13
>>

I have something like that at my workplace, I guess I'll have to be careful then. The main reason I picked the set up was so I wouldn't have to do any print-and-play stuff. Ensuring the cards are 100% the same length and width will prove a challenge to me, even with a paper cutter.

But what I'm thinking of doing is also purchasing a premade themed deck that was funded on kickstarter.

>Legends isn't canon.
It's a "continuity" in the sense that there is a degree of consistency and adherence in newer Legends works to precedents and guidelines set down by past Legends material, even if it is non-canon. Legends writers still had to reference their predecessors' material and abide by other Legends plot events. It's still "continuous."

"Continuity" doesn't mean "currently official canon." For instance, the Han Solo/Indiana Jones crossover comic does not fit into Legends "canon" or official canon, so it is outside both continuities. Same goes for the Infinities comics.

Nothing FFG puts out for the RPG is considered canon. If it was, Force Unleashed, Kyle Katarn, and a whole host of things from Legends would already be canon-ized. FFG just needs approval to make sure they aren't putting in new stuff before they should, ie. things that would be considered too spoiler-y or things that would be in products before certain approved dates.

>Its a meaningless Continuity considering it effects nothing but itself.
Seeing as current "canon" is so bare-bones and less relevant to the current crop of tabletop gaming material, Legends is more worthy of discussion. Legends material is also considered profitable by FFG and EA, as well as some of the new canon writers, who have brought back some minor concepts.

Do you complain every time comic book fans talk about the different "Ages" of comic books, too? Just because they're non-canon, doesn't mean it's illegal to enjoy and discuss them. It's why Elseworlds and Star Wars Infinities were a thing. It's why people still laugh at Silver Age Superman.

>Star Trek
Star Trek "canon" is pretty goddamn vague. The Nimoy, Abrams, novel, and Star Trek Online timelines all appear to exist simultaneously, with the STO "canon" referencing some novels while ignoring others. Star Trek is confusing as fuck but the wonders of time travel mean that everyone can have their own canon cake and eat it, too.

I feel that with the canon wipe the best way to discuss Legends is like how you discuss comic books in relation to super hero movies and tv shows.

There are shitload of comic book plot arcs that don't take place in the films. House of M has not happened in the Marvel Cinematic Universe yet. The Nolanverse Batman movies, love them or hate them, told a definitive three-part narrative that actually had an end even though nothing like that has quite happened in the comics. The Gotham tv series does not take place in the same continuity as Arrow, and neither of those shows have anything to do with Batman vs. Superman.

While I am personally glad for the EU wipe because I actively dislike almost all of Legends canon, there's still so much stuff to talk about in it and it doesn't matter if it's "real" or not anymore.
>>
>>43900496
>Legends is more worthy of discussion

It is.

>Do you complain every time comic book fans talk about the different "Ages" of comic books, too?

Comic book canon and the concept of, is a bit different. In this particular case, the analogy would have to be "nothing was outright declared non-canon, until disney bought marvel and said 'everything but the MCU is non-canon'"

I don't really like Ventriss, but I did like how they used her in that show. Just some shmuck who wants to be a Sith, then gets "promoted" by Dooku while being totally unaware she's punching above her weight.

Her little arc also did a great job of showing Anakin's fall

In fact, that show did so much stuff both the second TCW show and the Prequels just couldn't do right in regards to Anakin. From making his fall much more elegant and slow-paced to showing how he and Obi-wan really were good friends.

Make it like the different lightsaber forms, perhaps? Every aspect or cooking style has its own key attribute. For instance, tenderizing meat ties into Brawn while teppanyaki shenanigans require Presence or Agility.

That way, the entire party can participate in the feast and share in the yelling from Imperial Grand Chef Ramsay.

Its the way the line was delivered. Chalk it up to Alec being a great actor, but when he said the line about Anakin being a good friend, he had that look that said he genuinely meant it.

That and how it almost looks like he's looking back on a fond, warm memory that's been tinged with the bitter tang of loss. He quickly changes the subject after looking so wistful, and gets on with things. You get the sense that there's some sting to those memories, though fond.

Yeah, Obi-wan lied to Luke a lot. And based on that we can assume he was fond of taking an aloof, figure it out yourself approach to Luke's father as well (even though we later find out he was actually an allegedly overbearing basket case who didn't act at all like Guinness).

But you still got the sense Obi was being sincered about them being friends. The way he talks about Anakin you get the sense he genuinely feels like he lost an important person to him.

>The lekku protruded down the back of the skull and contained part of a Twi'lek's brain. A Twi'lek's braintails served many purposes in their daily lives and culture, storing fat and other qualities. The Twi'lek's native language of Twi'leki was spoken using a combination of words and subtle movements of the lekku.

A Twi'lek's brain tails were highly sensitive, and grabbing them forcefully was so painful that it could easily incapacitate almost any Twi'lek. Despite this, some Twi'leks would cover their lekku with elaborate tattoos;[source?] alternatively, they would be glitter-painted.[3] Since the top portion of the lekku near the head housed parts of a Twi'lek's brain, damage to this part of the brain tails also caused lasting brain damage, since the tissue within governed basic motor functions, as well as housing repressed subconscious memories.

Rianna Saren[4] had her right lek completely severed from her head below a certain point, but did not appear to suffer any permanent brain damage, and was able to function well with a prosthetic.

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Lekku

Seems as long the the upper part close the head is still there you just loose sensitive tissue with fat and the ability to use the sign language to full effect.

what I hate most about Blaster -pistols- in Star Wars is how they will either look too sleek and skimpy, or too over built and bulky; Blasters like the DE-10, the DL-18, and the Westar-34 look the best too me from a functional and aesthetic standpoint.
What I really hate is the incessant need for the designers to either un-necessarily add things like scopes or barrel shrouds to what should be a simple side-arm, or ridiculously oversimplify the design to make them appear streamlined by just making them plain and covered in chrome.

I understand from a production standpoint the need to make certain weapons appear 'iconic' especially in terms of Han Solo's DL-44, or Chewbacca's Bowcaster; these are supposed to be unique and easily recognizable because they are weapons belonging to main characters with lots of screen time, but I feel like future designers took things like Solo's heavily customized DL-44 to be the industry standard for how all blasters should look in the Star Wars universe.
I just want more functional vanilla looking blasters to be designed.

I suppose it's supposed to showcase just how fucking weird the Star Wars setting can get. You're not just dealing with weapons designed for human hands, but those of various alien appendages, and having weapons be put together from manufacturers across galaxy.

Not only that, but they're not just made of different materials, designed by different cultures, and use different parts, but they run on completely different principles. Some are traditional blasters, while others are slugthrowers or disintegrators or actual lasers.

Different manufacturers might be running dirt-cheap blasters out to pirates out of junk, or high-quality dueling pistols with decorative electrum plating to nobles with a flash of fancy. Hell, most of these look like they ARE made of junk, salvage guns made of scrap. Given that they look like they might be from Jakku wanderers and they've got multiple downed ships to salvage from, it makes some sense.

I get that gun manufacturing is affected in different ways in the star wars universe, especially the fact that guns have to be created to cater to the needs of a diverse number of alien species (i.e. the DT-12), and that different designs will better suit different needs, I just want to see a bit more of a melding of the practical with the fantastical is all.

it's rather difficult to explain since you don't know much about guns. but in short, the entire barrel-cylinder assembly recoils in the fashion of the slide on a semi-auto. also the firing from the bottom chamber of the cylinder, the lack of a top-strap and various other unique little bits combine to make it one of the oddest guns around

Not sure what a "regular" gun would look like. Generally, each planet and culture has their own views on what's acceptable weaponry, from sporty hunting rifles of the more affluent to the classy show pistols of the galactic nobility, to the sub-par but serviceable weapons of pirates, the cobbled-together junk that scrap salvagers use, and the seemingly nonsensical artifices of the stranger non-human intelligences.

The most contemporary weapons would probably be military spec and surplus, the kind of gun you'd find in a warzone or on a noncombatant serviceman rather than in someone's trophy case. But it seems like Star Wars is going for the idea that the people who carry guns are the people who use guns regularly, and there's a pretty strict regulation on concealed and open carry. The people we see in Star Wars who have guns are militaries and criminals.

But there's probably worlds where guns are much more commonplace, a place of necessity perhaps. Dantooine lets people carry guns because they have animal problems, but those weapons are registered and passed down by inheritance, being more heirloom than concealed-carry.

Fuck, I just can't think of a place that has a gun culture like the USA outside of Mandalore. To everyone else, a weapon you can hold in your hand that stops things that want to kill you from killing you is as good as any other. Sometimes you even get the luxury of choice, but for the individual, a gun's a gun and as good as any other gun of the same make for their purposes.
