Any suggestions on how I should expand TFA X-Wing starter? I'm going Rebel, friend is going Imperial.

We're not sure how to split it. Thinking we might each keep our own starters, so we can have quick-start games with people, or we can each double our own teams, which gives us a solid core to work with.

I have a rule in my games

You can meet and interact with the canon characters all you want. But if you kill them, the game immediately ends in a time paradox.

this dissuades childish players for going on a canon character hunt

I had some fun with this once - one of my players pissed off Jabba enough that he got Boba Fett after him. Player freaked the fuck out

>wait, so you mean, if I kill Boba, the game ends?
>yes
>So, I have to let him kill me for the game NOT to end
>yeah, sounds like it
>thats bullshit!
>hey man, when you set Jabba's rancor loose, and it destroys his palace, and you tell Jabba it was you, and laugh about it, he gonna get pissed.

So, Boba shows up, and player gets some lucky Triumphs and wastes him in one turn. He's happy, but sad, all the players dunno know what to think.

And then Boba shows up, and unmasks the guy as Jodo Kast
>>
>>43876449
An original core can net each of you your own maneuver templates, obstacle tokens, and dice, you guys will just have different damage decks. You guys could got for a second TFA set to rack up more T-70s/ TIE/FOs, but the upgrades in the individual packs are likely going to make you want to buy those anyways, so it'd be kind of a waste outside of you guys both having the new damage deck.

Rebel Aces is pretty great. Millennium Falcon is a decent bigger ship.
>>
>>43876665

Must have lost that part when editing my post. I did get two TFA starters, so we have the choice of doubling up or each keeping our own token opponent teams.

Rebel Aces is on my Buy list, K-Wing, B-Wings, and Z95s look fun. How is the YT-2400? It looks neat, but as an aside, where's it from? I've seen it before in a game but I don't know the title.
>>
>>43876665
The Outrider expansion is also fun as fuck. Barrel-Rolling Large Ships are absurd, especially when Dash can just do it onto an asteroid and not give a fuck.
>>
>>43876722
The YT-2400 is from Shadows of the Empire, and the pack includes the Outrider title so you can fly the exact ship from it.
>>
>>43876495
We talk it out ahead of time whether or not canon characters are killable. Then we jack up canon character stats to make them virtually unkillable if we agree to make them killable.
>>
>>43876241

>>

>>
>>43876495

Depends on the context.

My first FFG game was in the F&D beta, and everybody played in the NJO era, so Luke was literally their mentor, they rubbed shoulders with the likes of Kyle Katarn and Corran Horn - there was even one adventure where they were pseudo-bodyguards to Leia as Chief of State and a couple of them hung out with General Solo while he went gambling (which is obviously the best way to get intel in a new town, hit their casinos).

In my current game, which while using Careers from all the books is very much AoR focused right around 0 BBY, I'm having them be much more tangential because it really fits the feel of the time. So I'll have them like, say, do a job with still-Captain Ackbar, they might be involved on the outskirts of something to do with Operation Skyhook, maybe they'll investigate Topwara post battle but we're not going to like, X-Wing levels where they're gonna join in on the Battle of Yavin or stuff like that.

(Though we joked that since they have a stealthed ship, maybe they did participate in Yavin - just the camera never saw them, they were too stealthy)

Everyone goes for Cade as worst Legscy character (for good reasons) but I always thought Draco was the biggest dipshit in Legacy. Plus unlike Cade who has to change to be the hero this guy gets even edgier and then is both justified and gets the girl. He gives Imperial Knights a bad name.

Your choice of either a Falcon or a YT-2400. Falcon/Poe is playable right out of the box against almost any list, and so is Dash/Poe.

You know, I'm not a fan of Plotkiller but I wouldn't put him on the same level of bad as the Vong, Durron, or exponential Sheev clones.

The only thing those games are really guilty of is DBZ-style Force fights and completely mediocre writing.

I like the Falcon and all, but I don't want to field it for some reason. I guess it's great for a narrative, but I don't like working with something that huge or don't like the look of it for my own team. YT-2400 looks fun, though, and so does Dash.

What about other ships, like the K-Wing? I like the B-Wing and have been given a rundown of it before.
How about Z95s? Seems like they'd make nice vanilla filler ships, or run Blount+IPM for a cheap and surefire way to disable a hard target. Also, I like the idea of having a wing of Z95s supporting a a couple of their big brothers, or modifying them to be Z95Xs.

What are the odds of someone not liking the Falcon? Probably 3720 to one. Stick with the 2400, then. It's got everything you need to make a list and it's the cheapest, fastest way to get you into the game. At some point you will probably have to get both ships to get all the cards you need.

Pod Racing 3: Coruscant Drift?
>>
>>43878121
The start card tells you in a short format everything about the prebuilt opponent. It is divided into four areas containing different information about the character.

The first line tells you that the clone trooper is a medium sized human (fairly redundant since humans are medium sized), with 6 levels in the non-heroic class. Before the first break you have the NPC's Initiative score, their senses and what they would roll to use them, and any languages they understand. This is supposed to include "everything" you need to know before the battle begins.

In the second area you have the character's defenses listed in order, followed by hit points and damage threshold. This is supposed to include "everything" you need to know when the character is attacked.

In the third area you have the character's offense. This includes movement, any different ways they have to attack, what the attack and damage modifiers are for each attack. The base attack bonus is included in case you need to calculate a new weapon, followed by the Grappling modifier. It then lists all options the character could use during its attacks: in this case the clone trooper can make a Careful Shot instead of a regular attack. It then notes that the clone trooper has the Point Blank Shot ability. Unless you know all of these abilities by heart it is probably a good idea to write them down somewhere so you remember them.

The final area contains literally everything else there is to know about the NPC. The stat block, the specific feats, skill modifiers and possessions. This is likely to be relevant only if the NPC needs to use a skill. Or if you want to modify the character in some way, for example by changing the feats, the attributes, or adding or removing a level.

The first section contains stuff you might need before the battle begins. The second section contains stuff you need when the NPC takes a hit. The third section contains everything you need to know when the NPC takes its turn.

Quinlan Vos

Hes another of those edgy "get away with breaking the rules" Jedi who everyone likes because hes edgy

Hes also a gigantic shithead

RepComm books make several allusions to the idea that Clones hate the fuck out of him because he treats them like shit. Im sure TCW has probably changed this however

After that, I hate Kyp Durron. The fucker should have been crucified for mass murder, and instead becomes the poster child for heroic jedi because Luke puts way too much value in redemption.

No, fuck that. hes a mass murdering scumbag
>but muh "exar kun was controlling him!" argument
Fuck that, Kyp wanted to kill imperials, and Kun tried to convince him to kill Luke. And what did Kyp do? He took a superweapon and blew up a whole star system

So I found I really nice collection of McQuarrie concept art.

One of the thing that strikes me about these is the sense of scale. Besides the artwork of what I can only assume was supposed to be the Imperial capitol there's also stuff like this concept shot of the Yavin award ceremony or some of the Hoth stuff.

As much as I love the OT I have to admit it would have been interesting to see a version unrestricted by budgets or effect limitations where the military forces actually feel like something that could wage a galaxy-wide conflict.

Some of those look really nice, and some of that content or ideas look like they found their way into the prequels.

Actually, some of it looks like it was brought out for VII, the old X-Wings look like the new X-WIngs, and the old Death Star looks kind of like the new one.

It actually kind of worries me that they seem so intent on reusing and/or butchering so much of his stuff without really thinking about why it remained concept.

Limitations of the medium, special effects, and budget.

The B-Wing doesn't get much screen time because its transparent canopy and thin profile made it disappear on the blue screen. TIE fighters in the first movie are more white than in the sequels because their dark blue/grey coloration made them disappear against the blue screen, and they were blue later because of advancing techniques and post-production coloring. Lightsabers aren't shown a lot because it was a bitch to animate them, and Luke's was changed to green because it worked better against the blue screen. The Death Star was made of garbage and Star Destroyers are made of dozens of cut up aircraft carrier model kits.

Non-sequitur, but the cheapest scene in Star Wars is the scene where they are inside the space slug. It was filmed on the Yavin aircraft base with black curtains draped all around. 20 lbs of beef made the sound effects of characters stepping around, and, of course, a fog machine.
>>
>>43882627
My main sticking point is the X-Wing design. 4 engines and full-chord s-foils makes a lot more sense than the wierd split of the concept.

And yet TFA lifted it, simply because Mcquarrie, without thinking about whether it's a good idea or a logical evolution of the X-Wing (hint: the T-70 wing split is fucking retarded).

>>
>>43882804

The Split-Wing isn't really the McQuarrie design, his design was sandwhich wing, like the T-70. T-70 splits seems to be TFA original.

Half-engine pods don't bug me as much, the T-70 seems like it might be partially upgraded for, I don't know, atmosphere or something with more rounded engines, less resistance for the Resistance. First shots we ever saw of them had them working in atmosphere, something suitable to an all-rounder PDF starfighter than a purely dedicated spacecraft of a rebellion that mostly makes hit & run attacks in space.

But in the end, it's all made up and nothing makes sense.

>Boba and Jango weren't Mandos

Where does this come from? Jango was adopted into the Mando culture as a young boy. He literally spent his whole life fighting alongside the last of the Mandalorian mercenaries, and avenged them and destroyed the Deathwatch (before they came back).
Even non-Legends, where the hell do we get the impression that Jango isn't a Mandalorian? He obviously wanted a clone son to pass down his culture to.

Also, I hate Karen Traviss. KOTOR Mandalorians are great, so are pretty much every other EU incarnation of them, and then she comes along with that "We have no word for 'hero' because we all act like heroes" shit.

Talking base, release version here. That means lots of glitches, some of which may have locked me out of dialogue options. I sure as fuck do not want to slog through the game again to check. Everyone who wasn't Canderous, T3, or HK sounded incredibly bored and sleepy. I dislike Kreia and benched her ASAP to lessen on her bitching. Also because my Exile was Consular already. Atton felt even whinier and angstier than Carth. Benched him, too, since Canderous was better at shooting, the Exile was better at everything, and T3 had more utility. Visas and Bao-Dur were barely audible even with volume cranked up, and both were too goddamn boring to cart around. I found G0-T0 flat, boring, and redundant since T3 was already better-geared and similarly built by the time I got him. Didn't pick up Hanharr because Kreia was annoying enough.

And Mira? Literally forgot she existed until the endgame. Fucking hell, she was that bland. Everyone else, I can't remember. They were probably just as boring as Mira.

In TCW Season 2's "The Mandalore Plot", the Mandalorian Prime Minister, while acknowledging Deathwatch as being Mandalorians even though they're outcasts, also derides Jango as being a pretender.

In the "Creating Mandalore" featurette, Filoni says that this idea that they're not Mandalorians is straight from George.

And if you think for a moment - not one single time in the films are either of the Fetts referred to as Mandalorian. In fact, they don't even reference the armor as being Mandalorian in the films - the word isn't even spoken aloud once, not until TCW Season 2.

All the depictions of the Fetts that call them Mandalorian are now Legends. All canon examples, books, movies, comics, encyclopedias, everything else they've released simply calls them bounty hunters who wear the armor of the Mandalorians.

I read a story once that speculated since her Force connection only came back for the dark side, and the shit that Abboleth did, meant that Abboleth had once been an Emperor's Hand who got to uppity and Palpatine had her enteched into.... the Eye of Palpatine.
>>43884507
She really should have. In fact, I read a story once (sensing a theme here) where Mara is pondering why he gave her *his father's lightsaber* and is like 'Welp, guess he just proposed to me. I accept, your move Skywalker.'

>>
>>43884824
>the combat was the fucking same
KOTOR II's combat was a complete cakewalk compared to I. The saber forms themselves barely affected gameplay since any competently-built Exile will steamroll entire armies solo, even with a suboptimal form equipped. The Force forms make combat little more than a tedious chore due to how powerful they are (especially the regen stuff). A Consular Exile can pretty much solo the rest of the story by mid-game.

>more powers
Barely even noticeable since maxed Lightning + Heal trivialized the rest of the game. At least in I, you occasionally had to buff, stock up on meds, and wisely invest skill/power unlocks.

>minigames
Sure, but KOTOR I also had more enemies, environments, and quests. Everything felt more alive and more fun. KOTOR I had more stuff to do, more things to kill, and more places to go.

>Carth
Canderous and HK had more to say compared to KOTOR II. Zaalbar, Mission, and Jolee also had plenty of stuff to add. Early Carth may have been a whiny bitch, but he still managed to be less miserable than Atton overall. And at least Bastila learns to stop bitching at you eventually, unlike Kreia. Juhani was the only truly unmemorable party member in I.

Really, the only reason to bring party members is so you can level them up to Jedi so they can cast buffs on you so you don't have to. Oh yeah, and to distract things if you need that.

Mission and Zaalbar pulled their weight mechanically, their backstories were actually plot-relevant, and they managed to pack more personality than all of the new scrubs. I never really found Mission annoying. She was energetic, sure, but at least she was happy, unlike the miserable fucks that infest the KOTOR II Ebon Hawk. Zaalbar's succession crisis quest alone made him infinitely cooler than Hanharr, who was even more boring.

>Atton
And when you do move on, he turns out to be a boring motherfucker whose only redeeming factor is agreeing that Kreia is a bitch. It's impossible to relate to his backstory because he has that super special Jedi hunter mind-pazaak crap, too. At least Carth's hang-ups humanized him.

>HK
Your mileage may vary. I found him more entertaining in KOTOR I by virtue of the fact that he almost always had new stuff to say. KOTOR II HK ran out of conversation options quickly in my playthrough.

>Bastila
Her bitching tones down fast once you get to Dantooine. Even without choosing the romantic route, she warms up and compliments you on doing good.

And compare KOTOR I map variety and size to II. Upper and Lower Taris blow Nar Shaddaa out of the void. Kashyyyk had the contrast between the Wookiee tree villages and the untamed, monster-infested forest floor. The feeling of space on Manaan's surface contrasted nicely with the claustrophobia of the underwater sections. Plus, everything looked more open. KOTOR II's maps always felt cramped and linear. And at least KOTOR I Korriban tried to be relevant. The Sith tombs and terentateks were cool. KOTOR II's Korriban felt like little more than a speedbump. Malachor V is also a shitty, monochrome mess compared to Lehon and the Star Forge.

I can't defend Tatooine, though. Tatooine sucked.

Mission was a bratty teen through and through.

I never used Hanharr, was always lightside. binary morality systems usually have a stark contrast in the decisions (which was more a problem in 1 than 2 imo)

Carth's hang ups made him a whiny bitch and borderline intolerable. I didn't have to pigeon hole my alignment to kill Kreia at least.

Taris and its hallways are boring tutorial levels. Nar Shadaa had quests up the ass.

the tombs of Korriban are the only cool things about them. and that tomb in the cave with the inf. XP glitch was awesome.

Dxun was crawling with nasty beasties and had mandies instead of growling carpets.

Komari Vosa and the Bando Gora were so fucking memorable to me. I might use them in my Star Wars campaign.
>>
>>43885898

My players haven't caught on yet (they're busy with a lot of things), but I have some subtle threads of a renewed Bando Gora cult in my AoR game.

They probably won't catch on until freaky red-eyed pajama guys try and kill them in the street, then it will be "The fuck is this death cult doing in our neck of the woods"?

And then they can go to Kohlma and be freaked out, like I was when I was younger.
>>
>>43885885
the glitch?

the hssiss in the temple respawned so you could kill them for XP

I think the TSLRCM patched it though

IDK about the Kinrath on Dantooine though. Don't talk to Zherron about the kinrath cave, just Kill all the kinrath's in the back, walk down the hall and do a quick save/quick load and they'll be right back in their spots. March down the hall, kill them, rinse and repeat.

the temple was in the cave, you pass it on the way to the academy. nice endurance gauntlet/mind fuck

its across the bridge, go to your left and if you're high level enough and light or darkside enough ( I think that's a requirement IIRC)

its easier if you are darkside.

I feel like ME 2 was reasonably good with the paragon/renegade thing, though as you say, neither was really *evil*
>>
>>43886162

I always played pure Paragon, but some of the Renegade moments I hit for fun. Sometimes it was just really satisfying to beat the shit out of someone, and REALLY satisfying to shut some asshole up while he was monologuing. Bonus points if you could kill the asshole with it.
>>
>>43886214
indeed, ME 2 had the best renegade moments in the series; they had renegade be "loose canon cop on the edge" rather than ME 1's "the reason why nobody likes you, butterbar" with a side of psychopath, and ME 3's "yeah, you're pretty much hitler"
>>
>>43886214
Headbutting the Krogan was the best
>>
>>43886248

People forget that the protagonist is supposed to kind of likeable, even if they are an asshole. Choices should have been between "Mr(s). Rodgers and his/her Orphaned Misfit Crew (and a GUN)" and "Loose Cannon Cop on the EDGE (also GUN)".

>>43886269

That was satisfying, though I liked shutting that mafia asshole up by shooting the sculpture or blowing that monologuing Krogan up in the fucked up Hospital.
>>
>>43886298
>Orphaned Misfit Crew
I think you mean "team daddy issues", but otherwise I totally agree
>>
>>43886317

Team Daddy Issues also works very well, though some of them are Asari.
>>
>>43886350
true. though they're androgynous, so what they've got is as much daddy issue as mama issues (aside from samara, who IS the daddy/mama issue)
like, as far as I remember zaeed and kasumi are literally the only characters in ME2 without daddy issues (thane and samara doesn't have them, but they ARE the daddy issue, so they still count IMO)
>>
>>43886269
I always headbutt the Krogan. Femshep's hair is far too solid for her to take any damage from that move.
Plus, it shows that he's your bitch.
>>43886390
Zaeed is like Canderous in that there's not a whole lot of complexity there and they're pretty much assholes, but that just means they're delightfully uncomplicated and very very killy.
>>
>>43886409
I wouldn't say that zaeed is so much an asshole as he is too hardcore to really care. there IS a difference
all this ME talk makes me realize that I should really work on that thing
>>
>>43886430
Are you saying he ISN'T an uncomplicated asshole? He's seen and done too much to care for any niceties anymore and his name is legend where it matters, but he's still got his vendetta and he's still a dick.
And he's also too hotheaded in his rage to realize that the Normandy would have either shot down or captured Vigo so that we could have had that slow death for him WITHOUT a needless loss of life.

The thing is, I have trustworthy players who won't just randomly start gunning down Mon Mothma if they are working for her, or tarkin and so on. If they are going to kill a canon character, that's a campaign goal, like planning an attempted coup de'tat on the Emperor, or the like. Honestly, a player is more likely to want to court Leia than to go on a random canon murdering spree, in my experience.
I suppose Jar jar is the only exception to this.

I had the opposite experience and learned from my mistakes.

Admiral Ackbar was blackjacked and stuffed into the cargo compartment of a Y-wing. Said Y-wing was then launched from Home One. The pilot turned around, set the hyperdrive to automatic, then ejected.

The session ended in bickering; Ackbar was dead, of course, but the players couldn't decide if Home One was destroyed, or simply had a Y-wing shaped hole, like Wile E. Coyote, carved through it.

Fromt a whole new thing. Ship's manufacturer is Gimmelian Shipworks, which is based on Ord Gimmel, a planet with lighter gravity (that makes it easier to manufacture ships that would otherwise require orbital manufacturing stations) and populated by Daeons. No real pictures or details on Daeons, so I assume they're meant to just be humans.

>Mission
She didn't have many bratty moments in my playthroughs. Aside from her arguments with Zaalbar, she seemed alright. She wasn't all that useful mechanically, but at least she had conversation options and backstory, unlike Mira. For that alone, I liked having her aboard. And she was one of the first members of the KOTOR I party to side with you post-reveal, too. Bro-tier right there. She more than earned her spot on the crew.

>Carth
He really wasn't that bad. Being patient with him gets him to stop the bitching really quickly. And when the endgame comes around, he's there to back you up, unlike everyone in KOTOR II.

>Taris
Less boring than Peragus and Nar Shaddaa. Taris was more open, the side quests were more fun than Nar Shaddaa's, the NPCs offered more conversation, and there was more room to explore and fuck with computers. Taris was good for getting new players to fuck around, talk to people, etc. And it was plot-relevant. Nar Shaddaa felt like a speed bump on Kreia's railroad. Most of it felt pointless because you already meet the guy you need to find early on and the only thing stopping you from knocking him out and dragging him into your cargo bay was the lack of options to do so. The only memorable parts about Nar Shaddaa were the hobo dilemma, Mira's awful playable segment, and the chance to play pazaak with John Cena.

>Korriban
Most of Korriban was tombs, so yeah, it was mostly cool. The Sith academy was boring, but it was still an interesting look into Sith philosophy for those who never got the chance to read TotJ. Jolee and Canderous also have some great conversation input during all this.

>Dxun was crawling with nasty beasties and had mandies instead of growling carpets.

Maybe it represents something or other? In the OT it was arms, mostly, always the right ones.

Someone posited the theory that it represents a failing of some sort, I think it's just loss of agency.

Most likely, it's a direct consequence of people running around with laser swords that cut through damn near everything, and hands and arms are the easiest thing to have cut off for effects purposes.

What even is "honorable" for Mandalorians? They clearly give no shits about how people fight because they'll make liberal use of WMDs, shoot up civilians, and abuse the shit out of cloaking tech. It seems like the only things they actually care about are having a good scrap and getting Jedi kill silhouettes.
>>
>>43891062
Shield only really stops attack from above, the TIEs could take the long route by dropping from the SDs like the walker transports did. The rest of the battle went more or less as canon (aside from Luke dodging potshots from snowtroopers escaping one of the downed walkers on the way to his X-wing), so if their systems could survive the cold long enough to close they'd have a decent shot at the generators.

PCs killed nearly an entire swarm of 20, only two survived to hit the target.

>>43891079

Not really, no. It was just boring combat sequence after boring combat sequence. Taris had larger maps, more exploration, more ways to fuck with combat encounters (more hacking, more sabotage, etc.), and more enemy types. Everyone on Nar Shaddaa was an asshole, too, so it's impossible to care about any of the people or quests. Fuck, at least Taris had normal schmucks and the poor undercity people.

"Rescuing" the Exile is a rather weird notion, too, since the Exile by that point has already become a lightning-spewing, immortal god of war. Why did the Exile even need rescuing? He/she is mechanically capable of annihilating every chump on the planet. Everything was piss-easy except maybe the fight scene in the pazaak bar, but I cheesed that with my gorillions of salvaged land mines.

>Mira
Because she's the Mission analogue. Random female punk with a Wookiee, except this time, they're enemies instead of buddies. And seeing as Mira couldn't pick locks, there was no point in bringing her along. Atton was the only one more worthless in combat, T3 had more utility, and everyone else is on par with or more useful in a fight.

>Zaalbar
Anyone can simplify characters. Kreia is "Muh Avellone." Atton is "Muh pure pazaak." Bao-Dur is "Muhmbles." Hanharr is "GRAAR I AM EVIL." Visas is generic waifu bait. G0-T0 is "T3 but evil and intelligible." Disciple was so goddamn boring I can't even remember what his thing was, and I never bothered using him.

At least Zaalbar was a gateway into more Wookiee culture. The KOTOR II characters barely had any thing to offer beyond whining and misery.

What's really weird is Bastila getting captured by a fucking swoop gang thugs.

they went out of their way to make my favorite game ever noncanon.... It was like a personal fuck you from Lucas and Bioware.

and nobody is going to change their minds on the KOTOR games I still prefer 2 and a better use of my time would be deciding if its worth putting a 4 in my Super Tactical Droid's intelligence in the FFG SW RPG.
>>
>>43891342

Carth acted that way and I told him he was a stupid fuck and a frustrating piece of shit and I think I used words that you need to be studied up on the setting to understand. He kind of conceded after that and started opening up in bits and pieces. He's an asshole but if you call him on his shit, he'll sort of endear to you.

He's paranoid because all his mentors, friends, and soldier buddies turncoated to the Sith and killed his family in their campaign against the Republic. He's sworn off trusting after near everyone he knows who he cared about betrayed the Republic and killed the other half of everyone he knows and cares about.

Then again, I had no problems because I told him he was a shit and everyone sided with me during the Revan reveal, so he kind of had no backup after that and figured he might as well get over it.
>>
>>43891863
>Taris had assholes to spare
Sure it did, but there were also people who weren't assholes. Several random civilians, the aliens, and the poor fucks in the undercity were all nice enough. The fact that there was a mix of assholes and normal people helped make Taris feel like an actual city.

>your complaints about rescuing the Exile, maybe if you do Nar Shadaa last and at level 30.
I did Nar Shaddaa first. Consular with heals and lightning makes combat a cakewalk.

>Taris had longer hallways
With branching, large central rooms, and multiple paths and computers to mess with. Nar Shaddaa was a more linear series of hallways with a shittier color palette.

>Bastila
She was a padawan, disoriented from the landing, not min-maxed, and had no lightsaber. She at least believably fucked up. Plus, stat-wise, the fights still posed a threat to her even with her capabilities.

>Mira doing explosives and mines
Explosives and mines were everywhere, so no real need for her. T3 was a vastly superior skill monkey and by then, I was already swimming in grenades and free mines. She got benched immediately.

>Wookiee culture
Still more worldbuilding than KOTOR II ever did. Star Wars cultures are simplistic. The hell do you expect, an anthropological thesis with a detailed history dating back to the primordial ooze? The Wookiees were a nice sideshow and gave some flavor to the setting. They had succession rules, an explanation for their methods of settlement, cultural taboos, etc.

>One large central room
Whoop-de-fucking-do. Nar Shaddaa had less of everything. Fewer sympathetic faces, fewer branching paths, fewer quests, fewer maps, less color.

>>plot convenience excuses Bastila but not the exile
The Exile in the early game was way more powerful than Bastila with a gigantic inventory full of explosives, meds, and backup weapons. There's also the fact that every enemy on Nar Shaddaa was weak as hell while the Taris enemies mechanically posed a threat to even Bastila. And the Exile is a war veteran. Bastila at least has a good excuse in that she's an inexperienced, unarmed rookie with an oversized ego in more dangerous territory.

because rebels has a smaller central cast that gets more focus compared to TCW's wider and more spread out one.
>>
>>43893041
I wouldn't say TCW was shit, just that it tried out a very different style with a focus on longer arcs and with a much more green crew working on it.
Its just unfortunate that Rebels has a very different serial style with a focus on our Ghost crew. Means that folks that really liked TCW for its sprawling focus on a lot of different aspects of the war get frustrated with the smaller scale of Rebels, and the people who love the focus on the Ghost crew and constant episodes about them dislike the more ADD style of Clone wars.

I was going to say that Rebels has the benefit of not having Lucas involved with it. But really, imho, TCW represents everything thats wrong with the changing face of canon, while Rebels can chart new territory in a relatively blank space.

One triggers me, the other is just pure fun.

Also, Rebels started out as EotE: The Show, and is now AoR: the Show.

Season three is probably gonna be F&D: The Show

>a planet owned by the Hutts isn't a utopia?
Neither was Taris, which was a racist shithole run by the Sith.

>optimization
The game itself is extremely easy due to letting you start out as a Jedi with free reign over how to build your arsenal of Force powers. Even without a guide to help you optimize, it's not exactly difficult to figure out which Force powers are useful. Making a powerful PC is easier than gimping him. And even just playing normally, you'll still never run short on meds, utilities, or explosives. Contrast Bastila, who shows up carrying nothing but some clothes and the weapon she stole from one of the guards. And again, the Exile is a war veteran who should have more tricks up his/her sleeve than Bastila.

I like TCW more. I think the characters were, for the most part, more likable and the focus on shorter, mostly unrelated arcs kept the show fresh and reminiscent of the franchise's roots in adventure serials. It also did a better job of fleshing out some of the era's concepts, like the ethical implications of the clones and Anakin's fall, much better than the actual movies ever did.

I also liked the sharper, dirtier visual style; everything in Rebels looks like extruded plastic, smoothed over and airbrushed with pastel colors; Hondo is probably the best illustration of this. I appreciate the reuse of McQuarrie's designs but they are so blandly rendered.

>>43891187
They like fighting. They don't fight stupid though, they use whatever it takes to win.
They're a raiding culture, like the Vikings. Leading from the front and proving yourself in battle is important to them.
But, most importantly, if you can beat them they'll follow you. They pretty much don't hold grudges (see Canderous's boner for Darth Revan). And they have serious internal disagreements about whether slaughtering civilians and building an empire is ok.
Mandalorians are not *GOOD* in any sense of the word, but they are interesting and they make decent foils, antagonists and anti-heroes.

In fairness to Luke, he's probably overcompensating for all those mechanics, medics, custodians, and chefs he killed over Yavin.

>But it was a military target
>But he had no choice
All true. He still blew up a hospital that he knows wounded people are recovering in. He knows this because he helped wound them. Not to mention the possibility of other prisoners in the prison block and that poor dianoga.

That's gonna weigh on a man.
