We're not going to get hyper-adapted to civilized, high-tech society because we have reached the point where there is no elimination of the non-fit hereditary traits.

Anyone born with some especially advantageous adaptation doesn't make a splash in the gene-pool, because everyone else is still having kids that survive. It's not enough to be better adapted, your adaptation has to have a direct correlation to being more able to pass on your genes than other individuals, or it will never become wide-spread.

If anything, modern society is breeding dumb losers because they're the ones who have a bunch of kids early on.

So you can make a case for humanity slowly breeding sluttier and less ambitious humans, but not for smarter people with adaptations that make them better at complex jobs, because those people have fewer kids and get them later in life, which minimizes their contribution to the genepool.

We should be seeing smarter kids being born more as automation takes off. The worth of manual labor is plummeting as we speak. Actually the average IQ has gone up by about 30 points since the test was created. IQ is a relative measurement so 100 is always the average but an IQ of 100 now is equivalent to an IQ of 130 about a century ago. Humans are getting smarter.

Also humans self select for good genetic traits, a lazy ambitionless loser is going to have a lot harder time passing on his genes than a person who is ambitious, successful, and driven. While it's true that humans no longer have any major evolutionary pressures that doesn't mean advantageous adaptations no longer have any impact on the gene pool, because humans are hard wired to desire those traits in a mate.

I don't think you understand how IQ scores work. IQ is a relative score, every couple decades they recalculate the average score and set that as the new 100. The scoring system is then redone so that 64% of people score within 15 points of 100, and 95% of people score within 30 points of 100.
