Tried making the alternate look for D.Va, but it's just not the same without the right clothes (or the ribbon).

Fuck thats really resilient. Even Skyrim correctly moded is tons better but I had good times on the klub.

I used to love making movies. Especially ones with a bit of story and the build-up to the sex, but I found that most people, like 99% of them, just skipped past all the fluff (like the foreplay), and straight to the action. I was also getting out viewed by 4 minute movies with prefab animations that probably took the person all of an hour to slap together, lol.

I just posted because I wanted to give you a bit of advice. Take your time... really. If you don't, you'll start finding yourself not wanting to go back and finish. It's what happened to me. I literally burned myself the fuck out because when I first started I was churning out a movie every few days, or for the more involved animated ones, once a week. Now, I no longer have any interest or drive in making movies for people.

Maybe someday I will... but not any time soon. Unless the 4 person version of K17 comes out. That might rekindle some interest again... maybe. LOL

I legitimately have no idea how TK isn't more well known considering what it allows you to do. You'd think that being able to create uncanny-valley lookalikes of friends and celebrities would mean every man and their dog would want this considering, especially when you mod the game to look near AAA level of polish.

Does this game just have a massive disconnect between the vast majority of its consumers and those who dwell on MG and the like? I've seen it on mainstream torrent sites with pretty decent health, but I'm not sure in what direction the game is actually going at this point...

Does anybody have the engagement figures to show the growth/decline of it regarding torrent downloads, TXXX subs, MG users, etc? And better yet, why are there practically NO competitors to this game?

I wouldn't really say the learning curve is THAT steep though, it's a hell of alot more friendly than something like DAZ or the like. I actually found the pose editor to be pretty intuitive from a layman's pov, and the game is incredibly easy to mod compared to many actual mainstream games (drag and drop shit into the appropriate folder).

As far as I know, you can only do the outlines with the Hooks, and the cel shading proper in the bodies is some black magic fuckery.

It might be doable with SweetFX and the CartoonPower etc. options, or some feature of ENB series. Since the bodies and clothes don't have any notable texturing, this might also use special textures with low details or even just flat colors in them. There's probably some post-processing too.

With MG down, you can try Google searches for either "ENG series" or "SweetFX" and "Cel shading" to look for examples and config files. When MG comes back up, search and see if anyone there has written about cel shading.

Skyrim would be more competition if it were easier to make your own animations and the like for it. You could totally do it given a few hours, some experience, and a suite of the various modding tools which make it easier, but most people don't want to do that. In the end its only a specific group of people producing anything new and that's about it barring a few exceptions.

There is however that one new animation framework mod that might be nice, but skyrim is an unstable crash-prone mess regardless.

I think a while back NC (?) posted an edited version of a pre-existing sweater/shirt addon that used a different UV pattern than the original. It eventually fell out of favor, but at the time a few users made textures for it.

Your picture seems similar to what happens when someone with the original addon uses textures made for the new version. You'd need the new one to correct it, but with MG down I can't be sure.

Honey Select has better looking boobs, and has barely any clipping even on extreme bodies, something tk17 has always had a problem with (probably their biggest problem). But tk17 has more content, and you can make your own animations, unlike Honey Select (their biggest problem imo). They are almost opposite of each other, HS is more Eastern oriented, and tk17 is more Western. I say tk17 is better, cuz I deleted HS within a week or two. But some will disagree with me.

The quickest way is to find complete builds of the game(Lordhunt, veryslow, matterman, etc) and merely putting hook5 in it, then download the hook5 only room textures.

Then you try to ask either around MG or here for their main.fx to get close to their graphics style.

There's no way to carbon-copy their style.

main.fx only carries over their general feel, but the shots you see are, like standard photography/filming, a result of cleverly positioned lights and camera.

Though, Xalas recently tried to carbon-copy regbit, and with regbit's own help, managed to get close to it. Try PMing regbit at MG, because he's every bit as good as the best folks here.

You need the 7.5.1.5 update to the core game as well and you find it on MG.

I can't comment on paid hook5 since I use the free version. But basically that's all you need to make the game look at least similar to mine, since you asked (one of those pics is from my game) I don't use 4x textures either.

Making it look decent takes a while and the base version is pretty horrible for todays standards, while the repacks are horrible and bloated. It's a lot fucking work. And then you get to actual custom content, when there are no real standards, a shitty site to browse and literally have to piece it all together. The shitty UI of the game and the loading times doesn't help either. Tutorials are subpar too. Ah, and the editors for face/body suck in unmodded versions. If anything, I am surprised it could develop a respectably sized community at all.

AFAIK there is still no click and play H5 4K repack with SOME custom options/bodies, adjusted rooms and handy programs to deal with custom content. Hell, even the 64bit patch is not always included.

There's not a lot of content for hook 5. you could make a very simple hook 5 install with hook 5 textures, but most users have been around since at least hook 4, so a lot of our game folders are bloated with content that isn't bumped. i considered this when i was looking at all of very slows content and it's mostly mapped out for hook 4. even the most simple game folder with hook 5 would have bodies that don't match the poses. it's hard to say what a game folder "should" look like.

Find the folder for the body (when the skin texture menu is open in your TK17 customization window, you can highlight the number for the skin and it will show you the folder name in the top left corner of your screen). Load each of the texture images in photoshop, gimp, paint, or whatever, and resize them. the body should be 2048x4096, the hands should be 1024x1024, the head should be 2048x2048, the feet should be 1024x1024, and the genital should be 1024x2048.

Yeah, true, I didn't even consider the whole clusterfuck of poses and body mods. Though one could deal with it by including the ones that are close to vanilla and the vanilla ones for maximum compatibility. What does even cause the difference in poses? I've seen very similar poses made by different people, one version works with basically everything, while the other is a mess if you adjusted the body size slightly. Even when they are really detailed, some tend to work universally.

From all the repacks I tried, it was definitely the best one. Much cleaner, subfolder structure is taken care off and the loading times show it. Probably the best base to start with.

Well theres a factor that no one has mentioned yet about the repacks at MG and that is, you are limited to what they will add in other case allow to use in thoes repacks. Therefor you are not limited to what i have added and you can use any body size to any fetish exept for shemales. they are removed.

Meh, it's horrible to install at start, since you basically have to download half of the thread and some body fixes and other stuff while following incomplete instructions but once you merged the files (the brute way with opening the .txx files and overwriting shit) it's done. All a new player would need to do is resizing some of the skins/tattoos if they want complete compatibility with 1x. Maybe make sure that the new bodies they want to use are compatible.

Hence it'd be a great repack as the basis, so no one needs to do the shitty install again. One can delete 1x stuff from the base game too, so it won't take years to find the right nipple out of 50. Though cleaning up the options is definitely a pain.

I was in the process of making a barebones 4X repack with modular H4/H5 options and the likes ... and then went a bit overboard and deleted shemales, sounds and 50% of the stock hair/clothes.

Well, they are not all by me, and I don't know what others use.

Eyes being green is probably because eye specular you use isn't compatible with hook5. Change it under Eye spec in customizer.

You can change faces in Customizer under Facemaker and load a preset you or someone else has saved.

I put together a small package of the model in question (although I changed the hair to one hootie did to work with hook5). It should be at least close to what you see there, if you use a hook5 room with a hook5 level definition.

Pretty much.

Basically the .txx files are archives like zip, so if you unpack the mods, you get folders you can merge and then pack back into .txx. Just watch the order if there is some overwriting, !000.tits gets loaded before 000.tits by the game.

It takes over 10 minutes to launch my game nowadays. I suspect it's a case of there being so much stuff in my ActiveMod and Archives folders, although I kinda cleaned ActiveMod up when I changed to hook5. But it just adds up.

Trouble is that looking at archives folder you kinda have no idea what those files do. So I would have to check MG for item codes to know what clothes etc. they are.

3,5GB on the archives side is bit much but nothing overly large, besides it's harder to tell what the stuff will affect if its not rooms. I got 850mb but manually deleted most of the stock stuff.

Skins and rooms would be my target first, though doubt there are enough to make a major difference. For clothes you can hover over the stuff in customizer and it usually tells you the right folder name, although at that size that'd probably take too long.

If I recall it right, characters/bodies add a lot to loading times as well.

yup, you're just removing the default txx's from archives, and using the base archives pack from that post, remember to replace Extra.GagsAndMisc with Extra.GagsAndMiscAndSkirts, as long as you know which txx's are mods that you put in, you should be fine. you're just swapping out the defaults

It's probably too castrated for most. No futa, no sounds, tons of base clothes and hairs missing, pretty much all toys missing, and adding new stuff is a huge pain due AddOnScripts being merged with the rest, which wasn't the best idea in the retrospective.

Thinking about creating a more upgradeable 4x base but the thought of cleaning the archives from leftovers of 1x shit and looking for 4x alternatives is killing the motivation.

From my experience Skyrim is more of a softcore or gravure photoshoot tool rather than gonzo sex, which is the one thing TK17 will always be better. Making animations in Skyrim will probably forever be a pain.

Skyrim does have some edges though. You can literally RP with yourself, for example, and that's fun. It's also undeniable that you can get better graphics out it than TK17 (and a lot easier might I say).

Sadly that's for supercomputers, and not toasters like half of the inhabitants of this general or almost everyone at MG. That's why I keep coming to this thing: gonzo porn-making without needing custom-made $5000 set-ups.

another unrelated issue ill just mention in case theres an easy fix and people know how to fix off the top of their head: jewelry/ankle bracelet can't be colored with the sliders at all. the normal bracelets and necklaces under the clothes tab work but not the ones under piercing

Well, there is a chance it was just disabled from options, which would need you to open the .txx where it's at and change couple lines in Scripts/Dress/DcDressXtension.bsb ... or/and Scripts/Shared/Person/CcPersonDefaultDress.[bsb] (+CcPersonDefaultAccessories) and that if you got the tools to open these files (can be downloaded) and mess with notepad.

Of course it'd only work if only equipping/coloring it is disabled. It also can be deleted and then you really don't want to bother.

In either scenario, it'd be less work and faster to download Dimisd repack with the content packs.

I have installed a nice model I found on mg, along with all the hair, bumpmap, body required and it refuses to popup ingame.

I tried changing the baseID to a different one and it will show up, along with the correct skin and hair and bumpmap. but the way it was by default (base 0012) it will not.

why is this happening? I assume it's a problem with the body file? I put the relevant body file that he linked on his post (Custom.KashaGirlDPv3.txx) into the archives->2.114.001 folder correctly and it didn't fix it.

am i correct to assume that the txx file (Custom.KashaGirlDPv3.txx) is the body base (the one being specified as base 0012)? if not then what exactly is it and more importantly why won't it work with base 0012. tried searching and cant find anything helpful here.

i know i could just change the baseid to something else but this has happened before with other models so I wanna know why

I'd say it's harder to set up and mod if you want to make it look good. In fact it will look like shit if you DON'T mod it. HS in that regard is better because it will look OK without much hassle.
IMO it's worth the battle.

It does have an option to do POV.

Check the Facemate option in one of the face tabs (the left one i think) and turn it off. It's an old feature to give models a more distinctive face, from back before mods to the game enabled custom heads.
