With all the repacks going around, why don't you try ... the Slim Edition!

It's 4x, got two Hooks included (current basic version and leaked one), HairSizer and tons of others small adjustments. Also it's pretty slim and ready to play.

You'll get less with me than with anyone! Just 3 rooms. 3 bodies (GE Male, GE Female and Base Female). Half a dozen toys. Almost no stock clothes. Absolutely no sounds. Also the customization is very slimmed down in some aspects: No birthmarks, spandex, rings, body hair, muscles, just 8 nipples, 16 eyebrows, you get the picture.

On the other hand, there are about 100 hairs and just as many addon clothes, additional face sliders, fancy H5 stuff like cum, eye specs, tongue, etc, etc. and very clean Archives.

How do you apply _level_definition.txt files to certain levels?

Why do I crash when I load certain poses up? I have Orca and all that. The screen basically looks like it's filled with bubbles for a split second and then it crashes.

1: lets say i download a new skin like hdb4 or whatever and put it into the activemod and it also comes with alternate face, is there any way to add it in such a way so i can toggle between them while hdb4 skin is selected instead of choosing which one and overwriting the file before game boot?

The person.shared file is a headmesh replacer, which will change all default models to use that head. If you're using a EMFSTool-made standalone bodymod, it will not work on that model.
I dont know if you can add your own faces into de EMFS tool as you can with the body, sadly.

The clothing patch changes a variety of base clothing from the game to fit your flatchested models instead of having invisible boobs. You'll have to check by yourself which clothing is affected, because I dont know how many are. I know the nun dress and the standard shirt are affected.
Consider that this clothing patch will only affect SOME of the default clothing, not all of them, and your Add-On mods arent modified at all by them (they have their own meshes unrelated to other stuff in your game).

I did couple tests with NC version and then added repack hair and clothes from dimisd thread, had about 30 sec loading time whether with or without extra content. Then added 4x mod and shit rose to 45.

As long you have your archieves merged, the amount of content doesn't make a huge difference.

I think the best you can have is 22-25 but when you'd have to mess with scripts.

I can add that I recently changed to the dimisd repack and it sped up my loading times from 10+ minutes to 3-4 which was a great upgrade. It has stayed fast even when I have continued to add the stuff in archives and activemod I had previously, but this time I am trying to make it less cluttered.

There is a 4GB patch but it's not quite x64, just allows the game to use a bit more memory.

Your best call is probably getting NC repack and downloading the stuff you want one by one. May sound annoying but your experience will be much better than with the huge repacks, which you could still download for some of the content.

It's a nice floor texture, in a retextured Passion Pit, but it's just H4. Both the models are using 4x textures, but the fem on the left is pretty pale and doesn't look very good in direct bright light.
H5 just refuses to cooperate with my laptop. I've reinstalled Direct X11 several times, tried different d3d8 and d3d9 dlls in various places in my TK17 folder and no matter what I do it always gives me the "Direct X8 or higher missing or damaged" error so I just gave up after a while. not to mention pervocopter's paywall bullshit and one-computer-only downloads that may or may not survive an OS re-installation.

I had the same problem with H4, but solved it by reinstalling Direct X11 from the redistributable. Apparently the Direct X that's included in Windows 8 isn't actually a complete install. But even though that fixed H4, H5 refuses to budge. And, to be honest, I refuse to budge on the DRM issue. I was actually a $10/mo supporter until he did that, with the reasoning being that one day I'd get a better comp that would be able to run it. But now that I have to have the comp before I can get a download that would work on it, there's no reason for me to support him. As-is, I'm not even confident that I could upgrade by HDD without losing the ability to run H5, because upgrading the HDD means reinstalling windows. Even if it weren't being made for a fucking PIRATED game, the idea of paying for something that I can only use on my next comp if some guy in Russia with a reputation for ragequitting feels like sending me a fresh download two or three years down the line is a dealbreaker.
I'm from the Atari 2600 years anyway, so Hook4 looks plenty good enough for me.

Though as for visual, dunno. I am from the NES years and was stunned by the graphics of some PS1 games, and found H4 amazing ... before switching. Every new little improvement makes the previous ones painful to look at for me.

I can still play those PS1 games, though, and they still look fine to me. Soul Reaver, Resident Evil, MGS1, Castlevania SOTN, Megaman Legends, not to mention all those SNES games like Zelda 3, Mario World, Punch Out, etc. In fact, a lot of new games look, to me, to be nothing but a shiny new coat of paint on a tired old game (looking at YOU, Halo) that I played to death in 94. Just because there is something newer doesn't mean I can't be happy with the older thing.

I can relate. Free Hook5 doesn't have tesselation(that thing that smoothens 3D models, almost mandatory for shapely bodies), which was why I stuck with leaked one for so long. I eventually gave in to pervok because of graphical bugs that are only fixed in official release.

It's kinda like audio equipment. At one time, you can be perfectly content with music coming out of SPU that's included in your PC motherboard and your thrift-store earphones. Then you put in high-def hardware like Asus Xonar + mid-end Sennheiser headphones with noise cancelling, and despite there being small improvements, you just can't go back.

Well, I tried moving my TK17 folder to a different HDD, with due registry changes and all that.

My hook5 still works.

Apparently, as long as your copy of Windows is installed on the same HDD which you generated key for to give to pervok, on the same mobo on the same PC, you can move your TK17 folder anywhere you like.
