Why does no one care about NRL? Why is origin the only thing people watch that's NRL related?

Just look at the Raiders in 2016. They have an almost nonexistent fan base but look at the crowd's they pulled just because they were playing well and finals contenders.

What's stopping people from going? Yes I'm sure price may be an issue for some, but it seems like this generation cares less about NRL than ever before. Could the internet boom and the rise of smartphone and tablet culture have turned people on to other things? Netflix and other great cheap services? But then when are people still watching and going to AFL?

AFL seems like a culture in Victoria. NRL only kind of seems "talked about" in occassion to the rare person that watches and follows it.
