Was Donovan McNabb a good QB?
>>
>There are "people" STILL sleeping on the Titans

Literally how??
>>
>>76650411
There was a huge chance of the browns trading up to pick him though.

While the Bears move to trade so much to move up one spot to get someone who the team in that spot doesnt even want could be considered questionable, perhaps also think about the other teams that could trade up i.e. the browns.

Imagine if the draft had played out the other way and Pace stood on his hands knowing the niners wouldn't pick the biscuit but then suddenly the browns trade up and take him. Then what's Pace's excuse?

Sometimes these things just aren't black and white as they seem.

Luke isolated from injuries can be elite in any scheme, same with Donald, Von only works when offensive lines have other threats to worry about and 3+ seconds to worry about blocking

>>
>>76654599
Dak is getting like 5 rushing TDs at the most this next season
>>
>>76654692
I think he'll obviously throw more interceptions, but I expect his yards and touchdowns to ramp up a lot as he gets more used to taking snaps from under center and learning the Cowboys' offense. He could probably be pretty insane in time.
>>
>>76654692
RG3 had a wildly more successful rookie year even with an injury and look what happened to him. Defenses got him on tape and he became a bust
>>
>>
>>76654692
What surprises me is how overrated the Cowboys O-line is. They're excellent in run blocking, but only good not great in pass protection. Carr and Rodgers both have better pass protection than Dak.

The most important part of the Cowboys success last year was Dak. The team was bad when he was bad and good when he was good. Good pass defenses were better at stopping the Cowboys offense than good run defenses.

Probably not, but neither would the Patriots. I'm pretty sure teams like Eagles, Panthers, Bears, Jaguars, Titans, 49ers and Raiders would have won if he started during their contending seasons. Teams like the Giants, Colts, Broncos and Steelers would have won a couple more if he started.

Wouldn't have made a difference with Ravens, Saints, Seahawks or Chargers. Ravens can't develop around QBs and Chargers are a shit organization. Saints would've still fucked up during with bounty gate and he would be to old to run the Seahawks scheme.

Patriots would have probably won with Bledose and the defense, but wouldn't have had a reliable QB to build their second dynasty.

Hey /nfl/ :). Tonight, one of the greatest sporting events on the entire planet is taking place, and you probably don't even know about it! Hard hits, awesome skill, fast players, it's got it all :). The game? State of Origin. The sport? Rugby league. What's on the line? Only state bragging rights for the entire year. Think of it like a probowl that actually matters :). Speaking of which, the rules are simple! You get 6 (downs) to score a try (touchdown) and if you don't succeed, you must kick it to the other team. Only backwards passing. Come see former NFL Superstar Jarryd Hayne in action in the game that made him a star in the NFL. Join us in the game thread, ya cunts :). Kickoff is in 2 hours:

Brees is still easily the 3rd best QB right now but he has had pretty good WRs and great O-lines
his rate statistics besides cmp% are generally a good bit lesser. he has 2 season with the Saints throwing 8.2+y/a compared to Rodgers having 5 with the Packers.
he throws the ball much more often and generally doesn't throw quite as many touchdowns and much more interceptions.

The only answer is a complete rebuild from the top down on every single level. Until that happens, it will not be the year.

So after seeing everyone hailing Tom Brady the GOAT and above Montana I decided to rewatch Super Bowl LI, and you guys are absolutely wrong, this man got bailed the fuck out

Let's see what Bradley accomplished in the first half: 15/25, 179 yards, and a PICK SIX, the Patriots were down 21-0 at this point need I remind you

Bradley finished the game with two touchdowns, that's 12 points out of 34, once again proving he was bailed the fuck out by his team once again, let's take a look

The Patriots defense was absolutely stellar in the 4th quarter, Matt Ryan got sacked three times and they even forced a fumble, this helps Bradley out because the Falcons defense was gassed by the time it mattered at the end of game, and HE STILL got bailed out by his receivers, Bradley was nearly picked off about 4 times and constantly underthrew balls to where his receivers had to make excellent catches, like Edelman and Bennett

In OT, the coin toss that saved Bradley's career happened, giving the Patriots the ball back against a gassed Falcons defense and Bradley STILL nearly threw the game away with multiple deflected passes that would have been picked off if the Falcons defense wasn't so gassed, in the end the OC doesn't even trust Bradley to not throw the game away so James White wins the game and Matt Ryan isn't given the chance to respond

Joe Montana is 4-0 in Super Bowls, that's a 100% completion rate, he was never down 25 points in a super bowl and was never bailed out by his receivers and defense, don't you dumb millennials ever compare him to the biggest system babby of all-time who has lost two owls to Eli fucking Manning

Most negro qbs don't even have proper fundamentals. No pocket presence, no accuracy, no ability to read a defense and adjust a play. They scramble, they barrel, and they throw long passes in hopes they land where they should. They call themselves quarterbacks but don't even play as one, which is why almost all of them are shit. The most prolific black qb to ever play, Moon, was such because he had pocket presence along with his athleticism. McNair also deserves a mention for that but the rest are shit but they have piles of defenders because they play in a position dominated by whites so even if they play like shit, to criticize them is viewed as "racist"

>>76681977
That's how we perceive it due to great QBs having longer contracts than the average player.

We usually talk about great QBs but ignore his pocket time, pressures and sacks. Throw any QB with a shit Oline and he will not achieve nothing.

What I'm trying to say, if we are talking about impact players, at the end of the day they all achieve almost equally. Let's use the past generation as an example:

Both Ray Lewis and Peyton Manning retired with 2 rings. (Ironically, both were kinda carried by their counterparts on their last championships)
Ben Roethlisberger has the same number of rings as his DPOY team mates Troy Polamalu and James Harrison.
Players like Tom Brady, who has 5 rings has also played along good defenses.

My only preference when building around the defense, is that I think a great defense can shut down even the best offense.
>>
>>76682357
The Saints play in a more competitive division than the Texans, have won an Owl and they got 7 wins the last 3 years with some of the worst defenses I've seen. The Texans play in the worst division in the league, barely get into the playoffs despite their high caliber defenses, are desperate looking for a QB and not that much ago went 2-14, and they actually went to the playoffs WITHOUT the best defensive player in the NFL. And that's actually better than the other names thrown out there (Suh, Donald).

>>76682420
No, a great QB is more valuable not because of contracts but because a good QB actually impacts his team more than any other player. An elite QB with a bad OL can still carry the team deep into the playoffs, an elite player on any other position surrounded with mediocre players won't do so.

It's just easier to scheme around that person. If there's an elite corner, throw it at the other guy. Elite WR? Double him. Elite LT? Rush your best guy on the other side. Elite Kicker? Oh well. At least they just scored 3. The elite QB handles the ball on almost every play. Hard to deal with. You need a bunch of good defensive players to match up against them.

I'm saying they're equally valuable. An elite QB with no Oline and Defense would only reach the playoffs if the teams on his division are in the same situation but with a worse QB.

An elite defensive player would do shit if the offense keeps turning the ball over and the rest of the defense doesn't do shit.

Give an elite QB protection and he will make everyone a threat. Give an elite DE decent coverage and he will eat every QB.

Lone stars like Aaron Donald and Andrew Luck had basically the same chance at making their teams champions last season.

Andrew Luck actually has gone 3 times to the playoffs with a mediocre team.

If you take every single player out and make a QB play with pop warner teammates he obviously won't be enough but the Texans/Rams would win more games with Luck instead of Watt/Donald, and the Colts would lose more with Donald or Watt instead of Luck.

Watt isn't a lone star, and their problem is obviously the lack of QB.

Move Luck to the Broncos (a team with terrible Oline) and he would've not achieved more than what Siemian/Lynch did. Move Watt to the Broncos and they would've probably made the playoffs.

Move Luck to the Buncos and they win the division, move Watt to them and they would've gotten to 9-7 or 10-6.

And I mentioned the Rams, too, a team with a good defense and a horrible OL.

An elite QB > an elite player in any other position, what you're saying basically is that a great defense > a great QB but that's 11 players against one.

Luck would've died on both the Rams and Broncos m8. Being old wasn't the only reason why Peyton suddenly dropped in quality.
>>
>>76683179
In all honesty, most of Peyton's drop off can be blamed on his neck surgery. Neck surgery is serious shit and to even play football for another 4 years the way he did is a testament in and of itself considering he really should have retired at that point.
>>
>>76683179
Well, I'm going from the base that Luck isn't made of glass and he wouldn't have died when Siemian, Keenum and Goff can survive.

And no, it wasn't being old, it was his waning arm strength because of the neck surgery.
>>
>>76683205
>>76683228
Peyton literally had a record breaking season after the neck surgery. What really killed him was his foot injury halfway through 2014. He was legitimately on pace to break his 2013 records until then.
>>
>>76683253
that schedule was piss easy
also roids
>>
>>76683276
>that schedule was piss easy
Plenty of QBs have played easy schedules before. He was on pace for 55+ TDs, can't explain that away.
>>
>>76683228
Wasn't Luck coming from injuries last season? Siemian missed some games because he got injured and Keenum/Goff got sacked almost 50 times. Wouldn't have changed anything. In the same vein, Siemian would've done as good as Luck with the Colts last season.
>>
>>76683359
>having a good QB is literally the same as having a mediocre one
>QBs literally don't matter

Seriously, this is what you're defending. If you aren't capable of seeing that both the Rams and Broncos would've won more games with a competent QB, let alone a very good one, stick to fútbol please.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports Derek Carr's extension is a five-year contract.
Carr is expected to land $25 million annually. He'll make $69 million over the first three years. The Raiders are still working out the language, but are expected to finalize a deal soon. Jun 21 - 7:36 PM

Doesn't Spain have an American football league of some sort?
>>
>>76685673
Yeah, but it's shit, members of the league I know tend to be pompous assholes who think they know shit about handegg just because they play in something with about the same level as ice hockey in Sudan (not saying I actually know anything, just that they tend to have the same idea as me or even less), I've had arguments with some players/coaches and whatnot so I don't follow it closely.

Also maybe I made fun of them and they didn't like it because they're serious or something.

Anyway I think the league here already ended and I wouldn't know how to watch the games even if I cared about it.

>The worst fanbases: Oh, this is going to get Arrowhead hopping. But by the numbers, the worst fanbase in football is … the Kansas City Chiefs. Just above them: the Los Angeles Rams, the Tennessee Titans, the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Cincinnati Bengals. Also curious: the Seattle Seahawks’ 12th man apparently doesn’t travel, as Seattle ranked 19th, and the Oakland Raiders’ resurgence pegs them at 20th. What will be interesting is to see whether the Los Angeles Chargers, moving to LA with an already-divided fanbase, can somehow rank lower than 32nd next year.
>>
>>76687350
To be fair to the Chargers, the fans were fed up with Spanos stringing them and the city along.

Also doesn't help that they didn't can McCoy after the 4-12 disaster.
