are they telling me that the bills are more confidant in tyrod taylor then dolphins with ryan tannehill? I dont fucking understand their sensibilities
>>

meme

KEK
>>
>>75984440
Fuck off. Seahawks hate the Panthers.
>>
>>75984799
but who would you trust more tyrod taylor or ryan tannehill?

they put him in the same category as jacksonville, houston. That same category has denver too which I say is more confidant then houston. I just dont understand the tiers they do. Yes tannehill is not good but he has shown that he deserves more confidence then oswilder, blake borttle, or tyrod taylor.
>>
>>75984855
Tyrod Taylor isn't a bad QB. He's around that Alex Smith tier of good enough to be a starter but not take a team anywhere significant.
>>
>>75984855
yeah id rather have tannehill than tyrod memes aside

but I don't think he'll ever be a great quarterback or challenge new england.
>>
>>75984855
What has Tannehill done that's so much better than Tyrod Taylor? They've both been absolutely average starters throughout their career. The only edge Tannehill gets over any of those guys is being handed a starting job slightly earlier.
>>
>>75983362
Why does it sounds like John Elway fakes his voice???

Any way first for Broncos.

Also even if i hate the pats and the raiders im hyped to see them in México this year.
>>
>>75984855
desu I'd take Tyrod Taylor every time. Comparable stats across the board except TT throws about half as many INTs and rushes for a lot more yards/TDs.

Tannehill has never thrown fewer than 12 INTs in a season. After 5 seasons that is not good.
>>
>>75984948
I've heard a litany of excuses for that, including "well his line sucks!" or "well he has no weapons!!" or "well he's young!". Dude's been in the league since 2012, has Jarvis Landry and Jay Ajayi now, and a pretty decent line. At what point does he actually have to show something before people stop defending him?
>>
>>75984966
He also has 47 career fumbles. That is an insanely bad stat.
>>
>>75983545
How's the vacation going, Miamifriend?
>>
>OAK: Report: Carr frustrated with extension talks

get this fake news out of here
>>
>>75984948
But tyrod has the better offensive weapon and much better line play

>>75984966
but he got hit the most time in three years. thats fact. men bills have sammy watson which is better than any of the offensive weapons the dolphins had on offense. Also Jay ajayi has only been playing less than one year. Jarvis Landry is a glorified possession wr not really a true number one

>>75984985
>sacked 58 times one year
>149 sacks in three years

last year was the only year he had fucking decent line play.

He is not elite qb. I am not arguing that. he needs talent around him but I am arguing he is better then those other qbs who only spam deep balls(osweiller) or tyrod taylor who plays it safe.
>>
>>75985050
>men bills have sammy watson which is better than any of the offensive weapons the dolphins had on offense.
>Jarvis Landry is a glorified possession wr not really a true number one
Kek what the fuck? Not only does Watkins barely play anymore because he's a fragile fucker, but Landry is a much, much better WR than him. You're fucking retarded.
>>
>>75985075
really you think watson is better than landry. lol. that is not true
>>
>>75985091
Uh, no? I clearly said Landry was better than Watkins. Not sure why you still can't spell his name, but you don't seem like you're very bright.
>>
>>75985091
Watkins is not better than Landry. He's injury prone and wildly inconsistent. Why do you think the Bills didn't pick up his fifth-year option?

The only way you can possibly suggest the Bills are better on offense is at RB with McCoy, but McCoy has also been injured a lot and now Tannehill has Ajayi, and he's STILL giving away the ball as much as he did before. He's out of excuses.
>>
>>75985050
>much better line play
BS my dude. Yes the Bills have Glenn, Incognito, and Wood, but after that it's been a rotating cast of absolute fucking garbage that can't pass block for shit. An o-line is only as good as its worst piece and you'd be hard pressed to do worse than Cyril Richardson.
>>
>>75985167
Seriously, the Bills top WRs last year were Robert Woods and Marquise Goodwin. Taylor has nothing but crap to throw to because Watkins' foot injuries are persistent. Tannehill has Landry, who is basically Odell lite, and Kenny Stills, both of whom are miles better than anyone from that shitty Buffalo corps.

Sure, Taylor had Shady last year. Dolphins fans were crowing about how good Ajayi is, but I guess for this scenario he sucks because muh Tannehill no help GOAT.
>>
>>75985091

>>
>>75985243
>He is not elite qb. I am not arguing that. he needs talent around him but I am arguing he is better then those other qbs who only spam deep balls(osweiller) or tyrod taylor who plays it safe.

Again I am only saying he is better then tyrod taylor which isnt saying much. Yes I know tannehill is wildly inconsistent but every year he has 4-5 game streak where he just goes off.
>>75985237
the same story as the dolphins line. The dolphins guard play is among the worst in the league. There is a reason why the bills always kill them when they play.
last year was the first time in like 5 years they actually could block. I am glad they finally could do their job after all the spent draft picks and money spent on them.

>>75985167
When Watkins isnt injured he is better than landry. In like 3/4ths the target he has more tds then landry
>>
>>75985403
>When Watkins isnt injured he is better than landry.

>>

>>

Seriously did anyone else have a better draft? That dude wouldve gone in the first two rounds and they got him in the 6th in addition to three first round picks
>>
>>75985535
It remains to be seen whether these picks work out for them. They went high-risk high-reward for a lot of them. And considering how much the Browns sacrificed to make this draft go this way it better work out.
>>
>>75985816
the browns have 12 picks in next year's draft, including 5 in the first two rounds. they haven't sacrificed anything

The entirety of their 2016 season and the mass exodus of quality young players like Alex Mack was what they gave up. That's a year of Joe Thomas's career he's not getting back.
>>
>>75985886
if joe thomas was ever going to be part of a hugely successful browns team, it would have been a while ago. i'm sure he's accepted his lot in life by now.

plus, the guy is only 32. jason peters is playing at an above average level at age 35. even if he's not in his prime anymore, playing for a team with a future beats playing for the teams thomas has been on the rest of his career.

Yeah, it would be stupid to do what the greatest dynasty in the sport has been doing for the better part of a 2 decades. You're lucky.

Troy Brown 5'10"
16 Catches in Superbowls
3 Rings

Deion Branch 5'9"
24 Catches in Superbowls
2 Rings

Wes Welker 5'9"
26 Catches in Superbowls
0 Rings

Danny Amendola 5'11"
11 Catches in Superbowls
2 Rings

Bonus: 54 catches in Superbowls by these sub-6 foot receiving backs.

Kevin Faulk 5'8"
Danny Woodhead 5'8"
Shane Vereen 5'10"
James White 5'10"

IF the Pats weren't the greatest team ever and IF they didn't have the greatest offense ever...

this is kind of a lame meme. i know people wanted a more impact pick coming into the year, but with sidney jones' injury and conley's rape charges the best players on the board for us to reasonably pick were all DL guys. and regardless of what people might have thought about our d-line last year, it WAS a need. vinny curry underproduced hard, and barwin played far too many snaps at DE. getting barnett wasn't sexy, but it solidfied a strength of the team and fits into the schwartz scheme perfectly.

now, in 2018 we'll have barnett/jernigan/cox/graham all under contract, and have allen, qualls, mcalister etc. for depth. it's no longer any sort of a need. and the idea that the eagles draft DL every year is also silly, since the guy that started it, marcus smith being chosen two years after cox, was only our choice since 6 other guys we wanted went ahead of #22 and we traded down.

we may not get the player i want in the 1st in 2018, but there's no reason to think it'll be a defensive lineman at the moment.

Dunno why everyone was so butthurt about the Eagles not going CB with their first pick, the D-line pick actually made perfect sense to me. This draft was deep enough at CB that you could nab a starter at corner as deep as the fourth round if you wanted. plus Sidney Jones is going to be a stud.

because the average fan wants to be blown away by their first round pick. they want a flashy pick that correlates directly to something they think their team is bad at.

eagles fans have been watching subpar corners since asante samuel left, and everyone heard what a stacked DB draft it was. when the defensive line seemed to be the good part of the defense and the secondary was the weakness, i'm sure some fans were a bit put out by getting another DE.

but you can't look at these things in a vacuum. the eagles are a team that relies heavily on their ability to get pressure with only 4 rushers because that's the scheme schwartz runs. brandon graham was a monster on one side last year, but the other side of the line was underwhelming as fuck. barnett was the most productive player from that side in college, and slots in perfectly to give the eagles a truly intimidating unit up front. the fact that we also got the guy that the team originally wanted in the 2nd only makes it better.

Sproles will probably be used a little bit more sparingly on offense (they have to be aware of his age by now, can't kill the guy) while still being their main return guy. Their committee will be a rotation of Blount/Smallwood/Pumphrey.

The only time Evans had weapons surrounding him was in 2014 as rookie, when VJax was still somewhat healthy.

However, their OC was ill that entire season and never showed up for work, and the offensive line was a mess which led to at least several mid-season changes at QB which surprisingly also hurt his production.

In 2015, Evans was playing with a rookie QB that consistently over-threw him, and a RB had the second most receiving yards that season. That's the kind of help he was playing with.

So only once has Evans had other weapons around him. Only once was he not opposing defenses' one and only priority.

How do the Texans now suddenly go 5-11 after being just a QB away and now finally getting a QB?
>>
>>75991240

Every year /sp thinks the Texans are going 4-12 or 5-11. They've been wrong 5 out of the last 6 years. It's hilarious. It's also free money to bet over on their wins. Every single year it's 8 or 8.5 because of the popular mindset being like dumbfucks on /sp/. Just bet the over, win some money, and let idiots on /sp/ be objectively stupid.

They literally went 9-7 by starting Brian Hoyer, Ryan Mallett, T.J. Yates, and Brandon Weeden.
>>
>>75991228
I'm not talking about a dual threat. I'm talking about a third down back that has only ever been good at catching passes out of the backfield.

No. Having a third down back with get the second most receiving yards on the team (500 or something) doesn't help Evans' production, doesn't take defenses' focus from him, and doesn't amount to him being surrounded by weapons.

Put it to you another way, name me a Juggernaut offense without a great pass catching RB on the roster. Nothing keeps a defense honest like having a guy who can gut you running if you rush three or hot route and yak you if you blitz. Considering there are like 3 interior lbs in the entire NFL to keep up with scat backs, the majority of NFL plays are from a single RB formation and about half are from the gun, yeah it's really fucking vital to have a pass catching back today.

Like I said, you've no comprehension. That or you're just not reading my posts. I'm not talking about guy that can gut defenses running the ball if they play the pass. I'm talking about a guy whose only talent is catching passes out of the back-field.

He does not effectively run.

Passes out of the backfield is all he does.

You're the one who hasn't even named the RB you're talking about. I know he isn't as bad as what you're saying. It better not be Doug Martin either otherwise I'll really be laughing at you. Also pass blocking is pretty overrated any rb can learn to time a cut. If a QB gets sacked on a blitz it's usually his fault for not reading the pre play correctly or the centers fault for the same thing.

The owl this year will be the Packers and the Patriots, with an official passing of the torch as best QB in the league with a Rodgers win, and decline of Brady
cap this
>>
>>76001984
People have been saying this every year since Rodgers won in 2010. It's not happening, get over it.
>>
>>76001995
Rodgers is objectively better at the position.
Brady has a better coaching staff, but Rodgers is more talented.
Brady's age is going to effect him, regardless of what he thinks, it's going to be too much and his dink and dunk passes won't be enough anymore
>>

How is that at all comparable? Brady's been to 7 owls and won 5. People have been saying Rodgers was going to cement his legacy as the GOAT and win some more since 2010, but he hasn't even made an appearance.
>>
>>76002121
but that's despite HIS best efforts, which at times could just be described as impossible.
Brady wins WITH his team, who very often out preform him.
Rodgers has been to the playoffs 8 years in a row with a team full of injurys and bottom 5 defenses.
>>
>>76002142
>but that's despite HIS best efforts
Yeah, he really put on a show in 2014 and 2011.
>Brady wins WITH his team, who very often out preform him.
Kek. If you can name one playoff run where Brady has been carried by his team since Rodgers came into the league, I'll be impressed.
>>

>>
>>76002160

>>
>>76002166
>Both
Literally no one thought the Patriots would win in 2013, and 2015 came down to the last play of the game. I'm pretty sure most people thought Aaron Rodgers would be able to beat the 9-7 Giants after having "the greatest QB season of all time", or beat the Seahawks when Russell Wilson gifted them 4 interceptions, and yet...
>>
>>76002211
and people thought Brady was going to have 7 rings by now
>>
>>76002021
Rodgers is objectively an inconsistent choke artist. His absolute peak is better than Brady, but Brady is far more consistent and doesn't let the big moments get to him like Rodgers does.

Rodgers would have more post season success if he didn't have his annual "shit the bed for 4-6 games" stretch, basically assuring he's k the road the whole playoffs.
>>
>>76002257
You're literally just moving the goalposts huh. Brady has 5 rings, more than any QB ever. Rodgers has 1, and choked in seasons where he could have won more rings. No amount of whining on your end will change that.

We have something similar to that. It's called the preseason. Happens in August through the first week of September. Afterwards, games are every Sunday with one game on Thursday and one game on Monday. On the first week, there are 2 games on Monday. The night games would be late the next day and day games will be around night time your time.

New Orleans is one of the most unique cities in America, also one of the oldest. It's one of the only places in the country with any history, and it's also known for some of the best culture (mostly food and music) in the country.

Saints fans are arguably the most dedicated fans in the NFL, and it's by far the smallest market of any team. Drew Brees is elite and a hall of famer, some in NO will argue persuasively that he is the best QB of all time.

With regards to the ratings, I'd have to see which games were being aired with the ratings dip -- and I would wager it involved mediocre/bad teams playing.

It's not a fluke when the QB is known to be a great playoff QB.
>>
>>76006743
still doesn't make it a fuck all pass rush even so cowboys don't blitz but like 15% of the time. If they can amass that many sacks during seldom used blitzes then the addition of taco means they will be a top 10 team in sacks
>>
>>76006763
Nobody likes to remember Joe Flacco 2010-2012 because he beat nearly every team in the NFL outside of the NFC North
>>
>>76006777
>team was this and added this so they will definitely be better

That's not how the NFL works. Pass rush won't have as much time with Church, Carr and Claiborne gone. I mean I think they will be better in time but if your opponent is getting the ball out quicker than your sack totals are probably going down
>>
>>76006745
he got it fair and square at least and played fantastic in the playoffs

Flacco is not a better qb than rivers but I can't say he didn't earn it.

rings are not the end all be all but they enhanced his career from average to good.
>>
>>76006819
>That's not how the NFL works. Pass rush won't have as much time with Church, Carr and Claiborne gone.
That's not how projection works. You can't be sure a pass rush will be fuck all with new blood if you haven't seen it. The pass rush could very well be even better now that the cowboys have actual playmakers in the secondary
>>
>>76006819
i think you also have to assume the offense is going to regress to some degree. a large part of the cowboys' relative defensive success last year was their complete control of the time of possession. easier to defend if your offense keeps the other team's offense off the field for a majority of the game.

if dak doesn't play as well, or zeke isn't as dominant, the defense could in turn take a step back, especially with a lot of new starters in the secondary.

>Actual playmakers in the secondary

You mean Nolan Carroll and a group of 2nd-6th round rookies? Yea I'm sure their gonna make a lot of plays in coverage against guys like OBJ, Dez, Marshall, DT, Sanders, Hill, Fitz, Nelson, Julio, Baldwin etc

Seriously you even bother to look up the Cowboys schedule next year? Shit is brutal

>>76006907
Pretty much. Try sustaining long drives against the Seahawks, Chiefs and Broncos you're not gonna have a good time

Why do people bring up Nolan Carroll when talking about the Cowboys secondary? He is most likely nothing more than depth on a few nickel packages. And Azuwie and Lewis are playmakers for all intents and purposes.

Why is Alex Smith a top 13 QB in both these rankings? Mediocre, risk-averse player who'll turn the ball over less than the average because he throws safe passes for 25 times a game (only once he's been over 500 attempts) carried by great defenses since Harbaugh went to the 49ers who get him to the playoffs where his shortcomings become too evident, his supporting cast can't cover them and need some help and he lets them down by losing against a QB who was sacked 300 times because he threw less than 50% and he completed just 1 pass for 4 fucking yards to the wide receivers (NYG 2011), or losing against a team that can only score field goals (Pit 2016), or stays like 3 minutes less than 10 yards away from the endzone when they need another score, not making it until about 1:20 left.

>>76007933

>>
>>76007933
very consistent year to year and being risk averse works in the regular season which is why he wins so many games, yes he has a good coach and defense but his receiver and offensive line haven't always been great.

Smith's ceiling isn't high, we know this, but he's helped the chiefs rebuild into an annual playoff team and could be a great bridge for Mahomes.

>>
>>76008018
He's consistently average, I can think of +20 teams that wouldn't swap their QB for him.

His play may work enough in the regular season and get them wins and last year a division title (of course the real merit of it is of the D but I'll concede that Alex didn't blow it up) but in the playoffs he's shown that he can't compete against the best and even though their defense holds up their end of the bargain (17 points even after the special teams fiasco) he can't do anything. Same last year with Pittsburgh, the defense only allows field goals and he still manages to lose. Two games in which 19 points would've resulted in a win in big stages at home, lost because the attack stalls.

In SF he had Vernon Davis at his best, Frank Gore, Crabtree. In KC he had it a little bit rougher but still, Kelce and Maclin aren't too shabby. Plus Tyreek Hill.

He's the famed "bridge QB" that helps a team get serious and compete when they have some pieces but lack a QB but can't be a positive in the big games.
