>Making a trade that will have massive aftershocks on the league for years to come, the Buffalo Bills have picked up on the old adage of, “If you can’t beat them, join them.” Announcing a shock press conference this morning, Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott announced that the Bills had in fact acquired Tom Brady in a trade with the rival New England Patriots.

>While the terms of the trade were not disclosed, some have reported that the deal saw the Bills send all of their draft picks for the next four seasons to the Patriots as a part of the deal along with wide receiver Sammy Watkins, running back LeSean McCoy, the entire starting offensive line from last season as well as a handful of defensive starters which included Shaq Lawson and Ronald Darby.

WTF is gonna happen to the bolts lbs?

Perryman at Mike, Brown at Will and ??? at Sam?

I thought Toomer would be the natural choice, but I hear rumblings that Kyle Emanuel will be.

What will be Ingram's role, besides pass rushing? They put a lot of effort into his coverage skills and he can definitely contribute. Or should he just beef up a little and play with his hand down every play?

WRs are tricky to mock. almost every team in the league could benefit from taking williams or davis, but it's not likely that they're BPA or the most pressing need for many of the early teams. i'm pretty sure that between the titans and the cardinals the top two wide receivers will get drafted though, they're good enough for that.

Is there a type of defense that favors three safety sets rather than the traditional 3 or 4 linebackers? Like if you have a player who is sorta a safety/linebacker hybrid who wouldn't play in the box but wouldn't play in the backfield either. Would stay mid-range to determine whether to drop back or provide rushing support? Would Tampa-2 fit in this category?

When it looked like Bort was going to be a top 5 QB, did Jags fans spam every thread?

When Bridgewater showed tremendous growth in his last season, did Vikings fans spam the thread?

After Jameis and Mariota had phenomenal rookie years, did Bucs and Titans fans spam the thread?

The answer to all of these questions is no. None of these teams spammed the thread, despite the fact that each of them had more reason to be excited than Eagles fans.

In fact, only Raiders fans with their Carr-spam is comparable to how obnoxious Eagles fans are right now. Even Cowboys fans aren't as loud right now. I guess the Eagles are the Raiders of the AFC/East.

PS: Shut the fuck up you insufferable shits.

No they didn't. The worst we got from Bucs fans was Bucme who didn't even talk about football half the time, and from the Titans it was literally just one extremely obnoxious tripfag.
>>
>>74994486
>he was among the top rated QB's in the last half of his sophomore season.
literally everyone who watched him or posted here knew it was all in garbage time. quit pretending like ANYONE thought he was going to do shit.

for the other fanbases, we got spamming proportionate to their fanbases. the eagles are one of the most followed teams in the NFL, the fact that you're surprised by any of this makes me think that you are very new here. this same phenomenon happened in 2013.
>>

What you're describing is pretty much exactly a 4-2-5, which has been run to incredible effectiveness by schools like TCU and Alabama but hasn't seen a lot of play in the NFL. However the 3-3-5 plays very similarly in practice, even if it has 3 LBs and often still just 2 safeties, and has been rising in popularity in the NFL. Part of the reason the 3-3-5 may be more popular in the NFL is that it can be easily made to play to the strength of what you happen to have in terms of personnel, whereas the 4-2-5 pretty much demands a steady roster of outstanding safeties and LBs.

Beset by obvious mechanical flaws and a subpar supporting cast, Wentz entered the 2017 offseason as a promising but unrefined question mark. Factoring in that uneven pro football debut, though, at least one NFL head coach maintains a staunch belief that the future is bright in Philadelphia.

"You can win a Super Bowl with that kid," the coach told CSN Philly's Dave Zangaro this week at the Annual League Meeting in Phoenix. That undisclosed coach isn't alone in his steadfast opinion that Wentz is bound for success despite his late-season slump.

When NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah asked five NFL personnel executives to identify one quarterback from the past two draft classes around which to build a winner, three opted for Wentz while the other two chose Titans franchise cornerstone Marcus Mariota.

A quick glance at some stats from 2013 tells me that the lions ran what the site call a "4-3 nickel package" on almost 80% of their plays that year, but with an LB at the nickel spot. I find that a pretty retarded way to define things, since 4-3-5 doesn't exactly add up and I would just call it a 4-3 with a coverage LB, but it would make a sort of sense if they've been setting the stage to run more outright 4-2-5 with a third safety. I'll have to keep an eye on them this year, I love tracking defensive schemes.

You can literally replace Wentz with every QB the Eagles havehad since McNabb.

>>tfw Brady, Manning, Romo, and others are good but many of you peeps are sleeping on Kolb. He played magically for 5 games rookie year thrown in the deep end. Those games he won he made The Eagles fly. If he gets his shit together, learns more, settles down, extends that magic for a few more games, that mofo will be playoffs bound.

didn't Brady leave his pregnant girlfriend?
Brees was estranged from his Mom and gave her a cease and desist order before she killed herself.
Peyton bullied and molested some nurse and broke a court order by taking a shot at her in a book.

yet Rodgers is the only one here who gets consistently bitched about for character faults in /nfl/.

Brady is raising that son witth his wife Giselle with his other 2 kids wih her. He did not abandon him or responsibility. He takes care of his sister's kids too

Peyton was framed by a SJW insane feminist locker room cunt. Who touches pro athletes and works in hyper male sports environment by choice...and then cried rape when Peyton got a hardon in front of her as she flirted with him.

Rodgers, I like him.

I'm not really ripping on Brady. only pointing out that it's a less than perfect situation that can easily be caricatured by an outsider as morally questionable.
Nobody knows exactly what Rodgers situation is but there is plenty of reasons for strain in a family and it's simply inappropriate how some people (((media)) have taken up some sort of flaming crusade over him and a situation we really dont know anything about.

speaking on Brees' Mom IIRC she developed some sort of psychotic illness and that certainly wasn't something Brees wanted.

life is messy and these are just fellow humans.

>>
>>74997116

Brady's situation is a bit different; she hadn't told him she was pregnant when they split. Additionally, he has been a father figure to his child, the split was amicable, and Moynihan remains a close and good friend of the Brady Bundch (see the emails leaked from his phone during Deflategate). Brady trests that kid no different than the ones he has with Giselle.
>>
>>74997348
Wasn't Aaron's brother trying to mooch off his fame? that kind of shit happens constantly to families once somebody gets famous. If that his whole family than i'm not surprised.

Honestly it's just easy to shit on Rodgers because of the whole "I really really like woman" stuff. It's not like Brady is free of it, he gets called a cuck all the time. The Gisele with black guys picture gets thrown around constantly. As far as Brees goes JFFM hit the nail on the head, If you're on a team that sucks you get the pity party. Packers and Patriots don't suck so as quick as it is for people to get on their dick about how great they are, it's that much quicker to shit on them. Rodgers lacks the support Brady gets on this board so it stands out more.

>>
>>75004430
Oh? Who did they restructure to get out of it?
>>
>>75004620
Restructuring is a very common thing for teams to do when cap space is an issue. Tyrone Crawford and Travis Fredrick got their ostracized restructured a month ago which but them over 10 million below the cap. And by letting the mediocre secondary go and signing replacements for cheap in FA they just need to figure out what to do with Romo and it will be even more manageable. The Cowboys "cap space hell" has been easily rectifiable for years but lots of people here thought it was some super serious thing
>>

What changed?

whatever. I'm looking up the fines for this and the legality of starting a crowdfunding for it.
it's not a bounty technically and it's a voluntary donation to an NFL athlete. but apparently the nfl could sue to have the kickstarter taken down because of player safety.
>>
>>75004924
Things get restructured and pushed back more and other things. Many successful teams do this. Guaranteed money is the only money that matters anyway.

You are over exaggerating. Also Jerry Jones hasn't had a stranglehold on operations since 2012. The cap has only been a small but very fixable issue bloated by non-cowboy fans for the past few years
>>
>>75005248
Right. the infallible cowgods have done nothing wrong. Incoming 15 year streak of Super Bowl wins
>>
>>75005281
Now you are just being conceited and irrational.

The Cowboys have been getting younger, pushing out the old bloated contracts for years. It takes a few years to unfuck the types of shit Jerry put in place. Other than Romo what contract is going to threaten the Cowboys cap space? Remember the NFL did just add 3.2 mil to cap space a few weeks ago.
>>
anyone crowing about the cowboys cap space or lack thereof doesn't really know the details. they literally do this every year, and have been doing it for like 10-15 years, and it hasn't stopped working. as long as the cap goes up every year, and contracts like romo's eventually come off the books the cowboys will be fine.

I think the Chargers D needs a free safety, a 3-tech, and a nickel corner to be elite.

Bosa and Ingram are an elite pass rush duo, and somebody to push the pocket could make them a 2015 Miller/Ware type combo.

Our LB corps have good starters and depth, and should handle the change to 4-3 well.

Addae, Verrett, and Hayward are a good start to an elite secondary. They have to stay healthy, but based on their performances last season, they could dominate with a better free safety than Dwight Lowry (who actually had the best year of his career last year).

Ideal Draft:
Round 1: Jonathan Allen DI
Round 2: Budda Baker FS
Round 3: Jourdan Lewis CB

Alternative:
Round 1: Marshon Lattimore CB
Round 2: Baker/Maye/Melifonwu FS
Round 3: Jaleel Johnson DI

I think the eagles got the chargers rb monkey paw.

You get all the special teams and third down benefits of Darren Sproles
>but you have to hand the ball off to Ryan Mathews
>>
>>75008665
Nickel corner seems unnecessary
But imo if you're going to be an elite 3-4 defense it really helps to have an elite ILB or NT to really aid in stuffing the run and eat up blockers in pass rush
An elite safety will help any defense regardless of style because it'll allow corners to play more aggressively and cut short throws off and the safety will cover the deep end
But there are a lot of ways to build elite defenses
>>
>>75008729
chargers are kind of the AFC eagles anyway. though tbf we're probably going to cut mathews once he can pass a physical, fumbling piece of shit
>>
>>75008695
I seriously believe that the need for WR is way overblown. Allen, Williams, Benjamin, and Inman are a solid top 4. I know injuries are an issue, but we're probably only carrying 5 WRs on the 53-man anyway. We should grab a mid-low rounder and some ufas to compete for WR5

But at least he isnt super dark skinned like mccoy right?
>>
>>75008775
I'm not saying it's a need, but Allen gets injured too often, Benjamin avoids contact, Williams doesn't fight for the ball, but Inman was a good surprise.

The team cannot rely on just those 4 being the starting WRs, I feel -- especially if/when Allen goes down.

I think the offense only has a couple tweaks to make compared to the defense -- those tweaks being WR and RB, really. The OL is set, like it or not; I think WR is still questionable.

please don't mention that. god i remember when that trade happened all the chip dickriders were trying to spin it in a good way, and i was just so pissed. glad there's no one left to defend him now.
>>
>>75008731
Chargers aren't a 3-4 anymore. They're running a Gus Bradley Cover 1/Cover 3 4-3.

In any case, the nickel corner is absolutely necessary. Nickel is the new base, and the Chargers, like a lot of teams, played substantially more snaps with 3+ corners on the field than not. The added benefit of drafting a good corner is that Haywards cheap deal has only one year left on it.

I lowkey think that the Chargers have an elite LB corps, when healthy. Perryman is a beast against the run, Brown is a perfect fit for Will (and is a beast against the run), and the Sam position will be likely filled by Emanuel (good against run and can rush), Toomer (looked great last year in rotation), Ingram (has underrated coverage ability), and nickel corners.

Also, we have a nice pair of NT that can push the pocket in Mebane and Square.
>>
>>75008857
Without it and the Jackson release, we would be using Nick Foles still. I still get pissed whenever I remember we could have Derek Carr
>>
>>75008857
>eagles actually wanting joe mixon on their team after getting a fine upstanding white QB

leave that trash for the AFCN or NFCS
you guys can do better than that.
you guys are gonna be the spirit of the vikings this year and draft a CB in the 1st that just has measurables and no actual game skill
>>
>>75008813
I think the WR corps has plenty of talent, but some correctable issues. I don't buy Allen as a serious injury risk, though. I know the narrative is that he's been glass the past two seasons, but the acl is the only injury that contributes to recurrence.
People forget he lacerated a kidney on a freak hit. I just think he's gonna win a shitload of people's fantasy leagues because of the "always hurt" meme
>>
>>75008930
Well them running a 4-3 will make up for their lack of athletes on defense but I do prefer bosa in a 3-4 as the von type player rushing the passer 95% of the time
>>
>>75009016
Believe me, I want Allen to succeed and stay healthy, but healthy and Chargers are antonyms.

If he has a great year, then I'll be happy; I just think it should be addressed.

However, I do think the team does need to go defense-heavy.
>>
>>75008979
i mean while obviously 2013 was unsustainable, foles was a good QB as long as he had protection. i'm very happy we have wentz now, but it's frustrating to think what the team could have been like in 2014 with shady, djax, a healthy maclin, and our line. we probably would have made the playoffs even with our garbage corners
>>75009010
2bh i don't want us to draft mixon just because of what a media circus it will be. it's a loaded enough class that we don't need to get him, anyway.

>CB in the 1st
nah, unless we trade down.
>>
>>75008857
Leonard Fournette to the eagles this year is a good fit. Ball control offense will play better pass defense than a first round cb.
>>
>>75009047
He'll be a base end in the 4-3, rushing from the edge literally every play. The only difference is that he doesn't have to pretend to cover as a LB again. Make no mistake, the entire defense is going to based around Bosa pass rushing, Perryman stuffing the middle, and Verrett taking WR1 away.
>>
>>75009085

>>
>>75009195
Chargers take Allen at 7 if he's there, no doubt
>>
>>75009195
i think the eagles pick up james conner late , like 6th to compliment mccaffrey and be inbetween the tackles runner. dump smallwood, ryan is basically already cut. sproles will retire
mccaffrey connor backfield
maybe even mixon in the 4th if he really slides far for whatever reason
>>
>>75009125
Idk I liked bosa upright more though and more free to come from further off the edge as opposed to just off shade to the tackle
>>
>>75009259
Who do they take on the edge to replace Barwin?
>>
>>75009221
is corey davis guaranteed anything?
most receivers in the first round of recent years aren't guarantees except for 2014 which is possibly historically great and even then, first round selections like watkins and benjiman have prolems staying healthy
>>
>>75009282
chris long is doing that already. also sproles isn't retiring, and we're not taking mccaffrey at 14. much more likely that we go DL in the 1st without a trade down than a RB who isn't fournette.

ideally
1st round: DL/WR/top prospect that falls
2nd round: CB/RB
3rd round CB/RB if not taken in the second
>>75009310
he's not guaranteed at all. played in a shitty conference and has had injury concerns. i like the guy, but he's far from a slam dunk.
>>
>>75009310
hes guaranteed a hell of a lot more than fuck mccaffery
>>
>>75009282
anyone late like kpassagnon or smoot
right now chris long is a rotational stopgap for his 2 years contract while brandon graham and vinny curry are locked in starters, curry did good, but he didn't produce to his contract even abandoned the run and got burned at times trying to get to the qb
>>
>>75009275
I think it's more important to mix up his look. He wins with hands and speed no matter where he lines up, and mixing him around the line keeps blockers from getting consistency.

I honestly think he can play every position on the line well, simply because its almost impossible to get your hands on him.

TL;DR Bosa will be fine
>>

what i like about him is his length and his quickness, he's able to make a lot more plays because of his ability to get to guys. also he can play at different places along the line, so we would be getting a DE and a DT. he struggled with double teams in college, but playing alongside cox will help that.

i'd love allen, but i really don't see him getting to us. his stock has fallen, but his tape is still fantastic, and plenty of teams above us need a player like him.

I like Zach Cunningham a lot but his stock has suffered from the meteoric rise of foster
I like Corey Davis a lot as well
I love the flashes I've seen from trubisky and think he can be great in the NFL, feels similar to Kirk cousins to me

As for the Packers there are so many options, but I like takkarist McKinley in the first if he falls to us even though I am sick as fuck of taking UCLA DLinemen
