The core of the problem is /sp/'s spiky nature. If you look at how fast we are, we are faster during game threads than during normal days (no shit). We are too fast during those threads/days though, which turn them into lawless lands with no discussion but simple posting to express a reaction. When the game is over, there is a sudden shock of not having anything to talk about and moderation actually being enforce. People, instead of being glad they can shitpost hard during game threads, get mad because they can't post off topic content during the rest of the time.

We managed fine until mootdusky and then 2012 euros, not because we were slower than now, but because the first one brought a huge oscillation between shitposting and moderation in response (2013 moderation was far stricter than now) and the second changed the users of this board, bringing new people in from other boards replacing some of the old users. This is an exponential growth phenomenon, because those new people changed the board in a way that attracted new users similar to them and pushed away old users.

I find myself visiting this board in the morning, on my lunch break at work and before bed. I also check sky sports at the same times of day because I honestly love sports.

I tried Red-it like twice in all the years and I hate it's layout and the people that go there are actually worse than here. I only ever venture there now when I need a quality stream for football or boxing.
