You would turn up for training one day and he would call [one player] into his "room", although it wasn't a room because everyone could hear what he was saying. Then he [Graham] would say: 'I have sold you to Leeds.' So the player replies: 'I don't want to join Leeds.' Graham then says: 'Well, you just have to pack your bag and leave.'

WENGER OUT
>>
>>74566741
i'm pretty much where i've been all season (i can't thump my chest like #WongaOUT but i'm growing more and more curious as to what a post-wenger arsenal side would look like)

PROS: obviously a new guy coming into, what, the #5 most valuable FC in the world might actually spend money [on players] like he's at the #5 most valuable FC in the world. not to mention that he's probably less likely to perennially create #FreeLucas! type situations cuz he insists on playing "his guys" like iwobi, ox, theo, ramsey, now xhaka, etc >>>> all else.

CONS: the gravy train is what it is at arsene's arsenal, and the lads know as long as they finish 4th/+ and survive their CL group there's no real expectations beyond that. a transition year or two to get rid of arsene's longtime guys who never fully "came good" (***OX***, theo, ramsey, etc) could have >us pulling a >moyes/LvG, or even worse, something more towards a liverpool.

that said, >we are something like the 5th most valuable FC in the world, so maybe in the immediate aftermath of #WongaOUT the board will let the n00b come in and spend $$$ like a big boy to make sure there's no "pulling a manutd-to-liverpool" after wonga goes?

>TLDR = i cant fully say WONGA OUT!!! but i can say i'm growing more and more curious as to what a post-wonga arsenal side would look like. and every time ox or especially iwobi starts over lucas i just cant help but wonder even more what another manager would do with this legit-proper side (that, as always, is...

OH MY GOD BARCA DID IT! 10-MAN BARCA DID IT!!! WHAT DID I TELL YOU WITH >>74566385 HAHAHAHHA I TOLD YOU UEFALONA WOULD HAVE A LIL HELP!!!!

Thank god for PSG, no one will ever mention 10-2 again after that choke fest.
>>
>>74567955
>That's going to kill Sanchez going to PSG
what? if anything i'd be more worried that they'll be willing to pay ~40mil/+ GBP for the x-fer and offer him 300k/week now, since they might be realizing that they need a legit goalscorer up front cuz at the end of the day cavani and angel d. maria aint gonna win you jack squat diddly shit.

that said, if P$G gets that much more desperate for alexis let him go to them if you can nick a cheeky rabiot on the way back! he can play for my team (even if his mom is hovering over the contract signing like "PUT IN A MANDATORY # OF APPEARANCES CLAUSE!)

Ozil is shit and needs to leave.

Actually the only good players on arsenal ATM is Sanchez, bellerin, and koscielny.

The amount of signings Wenger skipped on because he's a fucking Jew is finally starting to bite. Hell he missed draxler just this January because is a cheapskate.

Arsenal need a complete overhaul. Players that want to actually win games and not just collect retirement money for exercising.

He's a literal pacebabby. I like the fact that he seems to have a passion for the club, but all he does is run like a headless chicken. He can't defend and he can't cross. He's probably the sort of player that can get better under a better manager, but Wenger certainly won't make him any better.

Clearly Wenger won't get the best out of him. Good players need good managers. Not some dumbass that thinks losing 5-1 three times in a row to the same team is fine.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/03/08/arsenal-crisis-deepens-ozil-oxlade-chamberlain-ready-follow/
The crisis enveloping Arsenal is set to deepen with Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ready to follow Alexis Sanchez out of the exit door this summer.

Telegraph Sport understands that Ozil has not responded to Arsenal’s latest contract offer, over £200,000 a week, with friends in Germany claiming he wants to quit the Emirates.

The 10-2 aggregate defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League has increased calls for Arsene Wenger to go when his contract expires at the end of the season, but the future of the club’s manager is not the only problem facing owner Stan Kroenke and chief executive Ivan Gazidis.

dude, ox is one of those players where the theory of him sounds so damn great [see: his england career] that it's a tantalizing proposition to have him out there fit as a whistle ready to [finally] carpe diem and do his thing...

...then you watch him out there and he's a fucking dumbshit who's generally the most purely wasteful player on the pitch (and don't forget his egregious turnover in the waning seconds of the 1-3 home/1st leg loss vs monaco = gave them their margin of victory to advance... and likely happened cuz ox was casual cuz he had just scored arsenal's goal a minute or two earlier, so he was chill and relaxed like "I DID MY PART TODAY!" ... fucking dumbshit!

let him go be wasteful for a LFC team that would do well to do what arsenal's done for the last ~10-12yrs.

>>74573731
i understood it at the time. he was on the wrong side of 30, city was gonna blow up his wages to such an extent that he was gonna ge a nice wad of cash to ride off into the sunset with (and where is he now?) and even when >we first got debuchy he seemed like he was better than sagna..... before he got hurt and brought out the bellendo revolution anyways!

i dont think anyone at the time could have predicted that debuchy would crash and burn so spectacularly, and that bellendo would be complacent with just being fast once he made the first XI regularly *shrug*

Always rated the Ox. People moaned about his finishing or last ball, and though I felt that was always overblown, moving him to central midfield should bring out the best in him while not relying too much on his finishing to be successful. If Wenger doesn't consistently play him there for the rest of the season I won't even know what he's doing anymore. He was just lacking confidence and just needed a string of good games and the support from real fans behind him.

It's bittersweet to see that he's playing so well at the moment but there's hardly anyone else in the team that shares his desire. When he got the yellow for "dissent" you could see how frustrated he was with the situation but even after that he kept sprinting for every 50/50 ball and gae his all until the final whistle.

I can't fault his performance last night. One of the best individual performances I have seen from anyone lately, and he's one of the few (very few atm) reasons I have that Arsenal can still one day be a world beater.

I watched him after the match ended, when this pic was taken. You could see the pain in his face after the final whistle. But when everyone else had left the pitch, he took off his shirt, threw it to the crowd, and applauded the North Bank and the crowd applauded him back for several minutes. There hasn't been much I can say I've been proud of watching this season, but Ox has made us proud.

>Arsene Wenger has not only transformed Arsenal, but he has also played a significant role in the transformation of English football. Equally he has won a trophy every season, as I believe qualifying for Europe equates to a fourth trophy in the top flight. Arsenal need to decide who they are and what they want to be and get the right people to deliver their strategy. Wenger needs to prove he can reinvent the club but he has earned the right to say when he leaves. - Chris McShane, Salisbury

I have a feeling that Wenger wont leave this summer. The board is just waiting for one patch of good results that will justify them to offer Wenger a new deal. They don't care about the fans. Just look at what Sir Keswick said the other day. He basically told us to fuck off in a gentlemanly manner. As long as you London fans will continue to go to games, nothing will change.

The fanbase is still split 50/50 so half the tickets will still be sold. And even if the WOBs don't buy tickets anymore, the games will still sell out because tourists and neutrals who just a day out will buy the remaining tickets. The only other option is for WOBs to go to the games and protest, but then they're still lining the board's pockets if the do that.

The last straw should be out of 4th and letting Totenham above us.

It's the other way around lad. Wenger has literally already been offered the new 2 year deal. The board are waiting on him, and it's Wenger who is waiting for a good end of season run before he signs it.
The offer is already on the table and everything is in Wenger's hands.

Every day I'm getting increasingly concerned that he's going to do it soon. I know he's not planning to leave and there's also absolutely nothing to suggest he will leave either. Neither him or the board give a single fuck about the fans.

Wenger seems to be very proud of finishing in the top four for every season he has been at Arsenal. Whenever he gets asked about how he thinks he is doing at Arsenal, he always mentions that achievement. If you take that away from him, he's got nothing. So I'd imagine that if he doesn't finish in the top four, he'd leave.

>Vieira: Wenger let down by players

Patrick Vieira insists Arsene Wenger will not throw in the towel at Arsenal and says the players have let their manager down.

Arsenal crashed out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage for a seventh consecutive season on Tuesday when they were thrashed 5-1 by Bayern Munich for the second time in two weeks, and Vieira - who captained the Gunners in their most successful period under Wenger - has put the responsibility firmly with the players.

"He is going through a really difficult period but at the same time I know Arsene and he is not the kind of person who will throw the towel in and walk out of this situation," Vieira, who is now manager of MLS side New York City, told Omnisport.

"He will fight for it because he is proud and he will give everything like he has been doing for the football club.

"It is true that people are doubting his capability to manage the team… but I think you have to look at the players and the players have been letting Arsene down a lot. players have responsibility as well.

"You can work the whole week in how you want to play but when [the] players [are] on the field they are the ones who have to fight and if you don't do it then it is a problem.

"So we can talk about other things but I think it is important for players to take responsibility and look at themselves in the mirror."

"I think Arsene knows better than anyone what he has achieved and he knows what he wants to do and he will make the decision,"

"I know he has got a passion and love for the club and the team, he loves being on the field, he is obsessed by football. He is passionate about the game so he will know what is best for him and the football club."

to me, it seems the players have given up on Wenger. If that is the case, there are very few things that will solve the issue. If Wenger does sign a new deal, an exodus will likely occur, and given the current position of the club, they'll be hard pressed to bring in world class talent given the club doesn't offer much in wages, and would be out of the Champions League. There is no way the current roster will win the league next year either, especially Alexis leaves.

>players keep letting wenger down

why doesnt the person responsible for picking which players are bought and which players will play in games take responsibility and drop those players? Cant believe wenger is taking all the blame while this other person who is in charge of picking teamsheets and buying players just sits back and does nothing.

They'd go for Dahoud first. Weigl-Dahoud would be a good midfield for them, and they wouldn't be using up a foreign player spot. He'd probably be cheaper too.

And if Arsenal want to go full meme for a DM, they might as well go for Zakaria.
>>
>>74609306
Xhaka will come good, he just needs a... well... kondogbia type (at least on paper) next to him

What makes Kondogbia a chance is
1. Bergkamp flopped in Serie A too

özil lover here, no posting from Japan. This is fools talk, his attitude is not great, i give you that (too emotionally fragile, too introverted), but his work rate for germany cannot be faulted (litterally sprints more than anyone else for germany), his playing is the most consistently brilliant out there (provided he is feeling well), imo his touch and ball control are top 3 in the world and he makes so few mistakes in his attacking play that he is widely respected by anyone who understands how tooty works.

>arsehole wenger has his him playing with so many weak minded players that lack basic passing skills, he has actually stopped trying in recent weeks..

>>74574448
mourinho loves him, says the ball smiles when he plays it (but rightly criticised his mental fragility - his key weakness)
>>
>>74609405
I haven't wathced him that much so I may be wrong, but he seems like he doesn't have the defensive mind of Kante. He's got the workrate but wouldn't lead the league in tackles and interceptions like Kante.

good call, hate how arsenal isnt doesnt buy up bundesliga talent, they can offer more cash than anyone except buyern (about same level).

there are so many quality players available there, hence a german coach (even schmidt if it cant be tuchel) would be amazing for arse's future.
>>
>>74609800

>>74609834
xhaka player well for bsel, gladbach and swiss NT, i blame wenger for his failure in prem so far. Truly believe with better coaching and more solid partnering in DM he would come good for arse.

>>74609856

Schmidt actually did some good work with Neverkusen, got them through group stage of chimp lig twice, this season without loosing and that with the likes of Völler and other morons in management truly not helping. Basically achieved more than Wenger in last 3 years, considering the far more limited squad and finances he had at his disposal.

>dont like his wenger likes stiffness, would prefer several other options before him but if i could trade him for wenger right now, i would take it in a heartbeat.

Wenger is old senile, autistic, introvert, keep everything to himself and don't bother to get in personal with players. That's why lots of players went to rival's club. We need passionate manager who would scold players like Ozil, Ox, Coquelin, Wilshere, Xhaka etc when they're lazy, making stupid mistakes/fouls, childish and red-carded often so they'd straighten their attitude immediately just like SAF, Ancelotti, etc.

The only reason anyone thinks Arsenal should challenge for titles is Arsene Wenger. He won everything before the prem was flooded with billionaire cunts.

He may be outdated but even outdated he is better than most managers. He needs a director of football, an accountant, etc to support him.
>>
@74612724
Fuck off.
>>
>>74612655
Wilshere obviously had attitude problem(with Shisha and night club routine), that's why they loaned him to Bournemouth. He really has potential but need strict manager so he can properly playing to the fullest.
>>
>>74612724
His defensive tactics are non-existent. He plays his CBs on the half-way line so whenever the opposition gets one chance to counter-attack, the defenders have to madly rush back to their own box and get tired out quicker. If you watch most of the recent Arsenal game against a mid-table or lower club, you'll notice that Arsenal rarely look dangerous in the opposition's half but whenever they get the ball in Arsenal's half, they're very close to scoring. Luckily for them, most of the other PL teams that Arsenal play can't finish very well, so the scoreline remains low. And since Arsenal's gameplan is to just pass the ball and maintain possession, they don't really practice proper defending (which is why they get humiliated against any good team).

Wenger is also very soft, the Sanchez incident is proof. He tried to drop Sanchez to assert authority because they had a disagreement, but then Arsenal were losing after the first half so he subbed him on. Conte dropped Costa when they had an argument. Allegri dropped Bonucci. Wenger doesn't have that same command over the dressing room like the best managers do. He'll also back out of bidding for a player if a wealthier club puts in a bid too.

Wenger has achieved some great things with the club and he was probably the best man for the job when they moved stadium and needed to be tight on finances. Most of that debt has been paid off now and Arsenal are free to spend as much as they want and actually challenge for the title. But Wenger and the board will continue to be satisfied with top four every season. And since there are now 5 other teams with better squads than Arsenal, top four is something that actually needs to be fought hard for. It's not just Wenger that needs to go, the entire board needs changing. But a new manager would be able to put pressure on the board, something that Wenger will never do.
>>
>>74613089
Jack has never had an attitude problem.
>>
>>74613187
He's not the only manager to play a high line, it's a very effective way of pressuring and condensing the opponent, especially if they have inferior footballers who can't handle closed spaces, half turns, etc it just needs to be coupled with the right pressing patterns, the right players, and--nowadays-- a sort of sweeper keeper.

Look at PSG when they sat deep and let Barcalona have the ball, they got absolutely trounced. They would have survived if they played higher and pressed properly.

Anyway, what I'm saying is that Arsene is a victim of his expectations. I was thinking the other day of Arsenal's 98 double winning season. Arsenal were 6th in december or something before going on an incredible run, nowadays that would have had him sacked.

He's the greatest manager in Arsenal history and even as an inflexible dinosaur he's better than most managers. So you should show him some respect, even if you want him out.

And he and Sanchez didn't have a fight, Sanchez quarreled with his teammates. Even people like Nasri have come out and said it's not Wenger's fault, it's the players
>>

Brief comparison:
>Mourinho combined 6 yrs at Chelsea = 8 trophies.

How can you be a manager at a club for so long IN THE SAME LEAGUE for so long, and not come up with a strategy for domestic domination by now?
This is poor. Stop defending this.
