Gaulding and LaJoie are both good drivers but in an ideal world they wouldn't be in Cup.

The problem is that LaJoie is in the category of "Talented driver who had to take a shit Cup ride because no one would fund a competitive Xfinity/Truck ride for them" and Gaulding's dad burned all his bridges by fudging the financials so he ended up with a car owner whose financials are just as questionable.

by law a driver can only be on the road for 14 hours a day, end of story

they have to stop after 14 hours, and have ATLEAST 10 hours off

and sometimes their company may have them off for 2-3 days at a time, and because they are on-call they are stuck at wherever they parked, until their dispatch sends them to pick up another load

it's not a relaxing job,

go to any truck stop and you will see 9/10 truckers with bluetooth headsets, they aren't talking to friends or bullshitting, they are talking to their employer's dispatch
