"""Scientists""" you hate
WE
>>9098109
Why exactly do you hate him?
Because he makes science more popular among normal people, thus making spending government money on science more popular?
>>9098124
Nobody hates him, he's just a dindu dressed up as saiyan.
>>9098124
I think that's the problem. He doesn't make science more popular among normal people. He makes Science™ more popular among normal people. Redefining it as a result rather than a process. Plus government spending money on something doesn't make it any more legit than the private sector. Can still be as perverted and agenda driven.
>>9098136
Who gives a shit?
Normies don't really need to understand the process of science, they only need to know that science is important, so they elect politicians that promise more science funding
>>9098138
How are they going to know it's important if a bunch of clown nosed popularizers are saying stupid shit and perverting science into obviously agenda driven territory? Science IS the process. Not the stupid shit.
What makes a normies vote for politicians that are going to take other people's money at throw it at some "Science"?
A) We need to study mental illness and gender rolls
-or-
B) Muh sex junk *cha cha cha* forget your brain and trust muh science *cha cha cha*.
You only get to pull that B shit a few times before your science popularizers crash their credibility and everyone votes that shit out and reduces the funding to zero.
>>9098152
Is this all you care about, gender science?
Isn't stuff like climate change or space exploration a bit more important than trans people?
>>9098156
Not that Anon but it's trendy.
Also
>prove that climate change exists
>>9098161
>prove climate change exists
>prove the earth isn't flat!!!
You're on mount stupid.
>>9098162
Actually I was more baiting you to give me the skinny on Hockey Stick and the Ice Bubbles in the Antarctic
>>9098156
"climate change" is another example of horse shit.
It was "global warming". With a graph showing catastrophic runaway global warming. And now "climate change" is the excuse for some lazy ass "science" where the conclusion is always "climate change". Well duh, climate changes. And that whole agenda has deliberately dumbed down the public's notion of "science". Where is can be "settled" and determined by a show of hands (a political construct). It is a "science" for plebs and "climatology" is a shit tier "science" for people that couldn't cut it in a real science.

>>9098156
But space exploration isnt really all that important desu.
>>9098211
But it does mean its a problem
>>9098212
it most harshly affects people living in areas already prone to droughts, turning them completely into arid biomes not suitable for growing anything at all (namely South Europe, the entire sub-tropic zone, large areas of Asia and Africa)
Canada and Russia will benefit from GW
problem is that the total area made non-arable in the south is much larger than total area made arable in the north
also, these warmer areas are more populated and dependent on agriculture. Them not being able to survive home will mean they will go where grass is (literally) greener - Europe and US

>>9098175
very nice
>>9098136
I don't think there's anything wrong with guys like him, Michio Kaku or Stephen Hawking popularizing science and making it more accessible to general public, people tend to hate them because of that but the way I see it their job is quite important, it can influence and make this subject interesting to a lot of kids or teens which might lead them to seek a physics or math degree. It's a worthy job that brings happiness and curiosity to normal and ignorant people. Little Witch Academia deals with this theme very well.
>>9098728
I just hate it when they use their position as science communicators to push an agenda especially things outside of their domain. Like everyone they're entitled to an opinion on anything they wish to discuss but due to their rockstar status, their opinions are regarded as truth even in area they're no more knowledgeable about than the guy who picks up your trashcans.
>>9098166
Nobody has answered my question.

>>9098847
DUDE!!! ITS WEED SCIENCE GUY!!!
Myself
>>9098854
>>9098890
Yeah - gotta go with BN. He started on a comedy show doing beefed-up high school science class tricks, and his moniker projected him onto a path he manages to navigate reasonably well. He's not a scientist per se, but I guess I'm jealous that with his mediocre background, he is able to aqchieve the success he has. Like looking at op art? white on white with maybe a red stripe.
>I could've painted that!
Yeah, but I didn't.
>>9098890
He's not even a scientist, and to top it off he is a fucking engineer
>Bull nye
Statistically speaking 43% of white men in California will prep Bill "Bull" Nye at least once in their life.
>>9098138
But the politicians are normies too, and none of this helps anyone if they dump funding into projects that don't matter but sound cooler to talk about. NDT himself talks shit on the US for canceling the particle accelerator that would have rivaled the LHC. But you know what, fuck that accelerator. We have important shit to work on in the us and our government is literally tens of trillions in debt. Fuck the normies wasting our money of research that doesn't help anyone.

>>9098728
The problem with Kaku and Stephen Hawking is that they actually usually lie or advance borderline pseudoscience. Say what you will about Tyson, but he doesn't do that.
every guy on “““science“““ discovery channel

I love /sci/

Why do I feel this is either about them accepting the evidence for intersexual people in several forms, or about them accepting the evidence about climate change? It's seriously always a /po/fag who always says this "but they work for the system" bullshit.

Opinion automatically discarded.
>>9098109
What no bill nye?
>>9098124
Government money has no business funding.
>>9098745
Sure they may talk about things outside of their domain but the fact that they have at least a PhD in STEM usually means they know more about any STEM subject more than an average Joe, because everything in science is inter-connected in some way and they most likely had to study that thing at one point or another.
>>9102703
it's the word filter
>>9098156
Trannies are mentally ill that's the science should talked about.
I'm over the climate change shit! It's been so perverted.
>>9098473
How about some science to prove your point you left shill
>>9100262
Screw you. Tommy E was an American hero, he embodied everything that IS America. Tesla was just some dumb European socialist that read too many science fiction books and wanted to be popular. The Wizard of Menlo Park will always be number one
>>9098124
He's less interested in advancements in scientific research than he is in himself filling the niche of the "celebrity scientist", and promoting himself as such: hosting AMAs on reddit, going on the Colbert Report, starting Twitter memes, etc.
>>9098109

Actually, Tesla has only become majorly popular in the recent years. Edison and Einstein are both far more famous still(not that I have anything against them). Anyways, most of what Tesla did has only been the basis of tech in the recent years so name has been getting some recognition now.

It's not. Just google the words in the headline, the only results you will get are people talking about this very image. There is no original article anywhere.

Ancel Keys is a warning of what happens when a "scientist" gains celebrity status, leading to the government and the public blindly accepting whatever they're told.
