When native English speakers refer to *reading* a textbook, do they imply studying it or skimming it?
In Italian I would say that I *studied* from Rudin reserving *read* for regular books.
Sometimes single pages from difficult books require a lot of time to be satisfyingly understood.
If you're a CS brainlet I doubt you were able to completely figure out some of the sketched proofs contained in the book.
I used it for self studying mathematics but I have some experience from several other analysis textbooks.
If you actually did it, then you're OK.
