Well I got a job at a small family owned home/auto store, so you could try going into some local stores and asking the manager if they're hiring.
However, you're more likely to get hired by a big company like a large chain of stores Grocery stores, hardware stores, furniture stores, etc.
Or fast food if you're really desperate.
What it mostly boils down to is finding a place that wants the help and cleaning yourself up nicely to speak to the manager IN PERSON to tell them you're interested and have already applied. Then do your best at that job unless you have a backup then you can slack off all you want lol.
