I would attribute it to irl things, us Americans really are inundated with political (if you can call it that) things at the moment.

Of course /pol/ would be more active as a result of this but not so much with OC.

Actually yeah they are, I believe, I really do believe, that this election is /pol/'s OC. At least a large chunk of it. It is kind of scary, more eyes are on 4chan than ever, ever before and the worst sort of eyes.

I really do not know what the future holds for this site, us, or the internet.

I remember visiting /s4s/ (as it was back then) in May 2013, I had assumed it was deleted after April 1st and hadn't visited for over a month. I laughed for a solid 10 minutes at every thread I saw, I'm not sure why, I think I just loved the creative nonsense. There's something about the energy of a new board that encourages fun, [s4s] is like Peter Pan because it never grew out of that fun stage.

It's weird it's been three and a half years already. One thing I've learnt in that time is it's a total lie that you become set as a person at 18 or 21 or whatever, you can always expand your tastes and experiences. I also learnt how absolutely amazing the internet is if you know what you're looking for, the entire catalogue of modern music and cinema is just a few minutes away, nevermind all the great educational stuff that's available for free (check out Tree Of Life if you're interested in the diversity of life http://www.tolweb.org/tree/) . People really should use the web to try new things instead of just the latest superhero movie or Facebook.

previously i went by the name boxshark but meh names are just names. [s4s] is still 100% shitp4sting nowadays, but i think there's a great chance it gets repetitive for people who've been here too long. that was the case for me so i stopped browsing for like half a year entirely. now im back and just shitpost, but without much oc. i think it has to do with the climate of absolute carelessness about posting habits nowadays. post-post-post irony is cool on one hand because its the antithesis to taking this board or the internet as a whole too seriously but it also disregards the idea of oc being a major pillar since taking the production and delivery of oc seriously is counter-ironic lel. i think we need to subtract some layers of irony and carelessness and inject creativity, while still keeping it spontaneous.

it's weird to explain, past /s4s/ was more stupid and silly than really ironic and post-meta-cynical and still managed to be very well-worded and creative in the way each and everyone shitposted (see pic for good example, it's so eloquent and ebin, yet it's just about repeating numbers)

i feel pretty gay talking meta shit like this but i think once in a while it wont hurt
