I used to be interested in a lot of things. I had tons of hobbies I was deeply passionate about and invested in that I've pretty much given up on. I liked art, psychology, writing, philosophy, discussing current events, films, music, etc. I was writing a novel for awhile, then I switched over to screenplays. First time I took th test, I scored INFP, but I was really depressed and dealing w/ anxiety.
Then INTJ (was still kinda depressed, but better).
Then ENTP.
Then ESFP (identity crisis).
Then ISFJ (depressed and anxious again PLUS trust issues).

I love ISTPs. My advice ? Ti. ISTP love people who "make sense" as much as they do, and people who have a judging function as a dominant LOVE to debate and share their thoughts and theories because they spend so much time building and refining them. As an INTP, you're probably a good listener so try to guess what the ISTP cares about (music, sports, politics, chemistry, LARPing, cars, whatever) and pretend to be interested YET ignorant about the subject. They don't open up easily, but the easiest way to get them to talk alot is by asking them to explain stuff to you, use their lower NFJ shadow.
Mind not to seem too insisting or social, that generally pisses them off. You should always drop HINTS of what you're trying to show, never put it in their face. They're more perceptive than you so they'll pick it up, don't worry. When you secure a trusting relationship with an ISTP, by feeding their Ti a consistent succession of signs that you're coherent and critical (this should be easy:just let your Ti do the work) start stimulating their Se by suggesting STUFF to do (driving, playing, training, fun stuff to do that is more physical/mental than social).

Ni users are future oriented, they could be troubled to think about the past (although they can remember it well) if it doesn't serve a good motive. They have a very synthetic memory, meaning that they only remember data and information, while Si users remember all the sensory stimuli of a given event. This makes Si users very sensitive about the past because they're constantly "living" it over and over, their past is a daily experience, while Ni users only care about "what's next".
It's generally STJs and SFJs that tell stories to give you a "concrete" example, like a simulation that you should take inspiration from to decide your future actions. NTJs and NFJs are bad at explaining WHY one should follow (or avoid) a specific course of action, they're the kind of people to tell others what to do and that's all they say, so quite often others see them as bossy or controlling. It's because their predictions come from an introverted AND intuitive (abstract) function, which Ni users aren't even aware of so they can't rationalise it, as opposed to Si users who keep telling you stories to explain why A is better than B.

Learn what motivates people and respect that. 9 times out of 10 people will tell you what they think about, who they are, and what they want through their topics of conversation. Just pay attention and connect the dots. A combination of studying mbti and watching a shitton of TV shows helped me follow this. You're communication skills suffer whenever you follow the golden rule. Don't talk to other people how you want to be talked to.
