Problem with saying that INTJs do planning is that ISTJs will relate to that - they can see tons of problems that might happen and make detailed plans that counteract them "just in case". They like to call that contingency planning.
This however is very different from what the INTJ does: automatically filter out what is "likely" and make vague plans that will likely work in any case
INTJs might appear as good planners to others but it's not really their priority, again a big difference to SJs who often like to have their life as predictable and planned as possible
