D.S. looks like it has some nice girls.

I'm playing Amagami currently, it's fantastic. The only other VN I've ever played is Katawa Shoujo because nothing else has ever appealed to me. Only barrier with Amagami is that there isn't an English translation as far as I'm aware, so you have to have a grasp of Japspeak, but I highly recommend it.

I love playing VNs. The stories are comfy and I can comfortably chase girls and play their storylines. I have played Katawa Shoujo (Hanako's Good Ending 10/10), The Fruit of Grisaia and If My Heart Had Wings.
Currently I am playing Clannad which seems very comfy.
Also any Linuxfags here? How do you play VNs on Linux? I had to play If My Heart Had Wings on a VM. Rest worked great through wine

I've read it all, i'm a fucking romance VN addict. Favorite one is Little Busters obviously with that incredible plot. Clannad is barely behind that also being so well done. Rewrite is pretty mediocre, Kanon is decent, and I haven't played Air? I think they did that one.

Well, they have an scene for almost any kink, however, it's just 1 scat scene per girl.
Also, i'm not a fan of scat myself, but the scat scenes were not all that bad, iirc most of the scat scenes were just a bunch of anal and a little shit.

I'm playing root double right now and I wish someone would have told me how long it was before I got invested in it.
I only recommend it if you're ready to sit down and experience some of the most boring exposition known to man. It's like 7 hours of "THIS SHIT HAPPENED WHEN WE WERE KIDS," and that thing where the Japanese think explaining non-mainstream scientific facts or events is really cool and interesting but it's actually really fucking boring. Yes I know about Chernobyl, no I need to hear about it again.
The first part, route A, is actually pretty good though, play that and if you like it get ready for the long haul

I decide based on the first hour or so of character interaction what order I want to go.

Started reading them senior year high school when my brother made me watch the unlimited blade works movie and i really wanted to know the mc's motivation better. Read most of the major english translated vn's through college. Favorites during that time were fate stay night, demonbane, comyu, katawa shoujo, and swan song.

Then I decided to read muv luv and alternative. It might sound pathetic, but that broke me and made me give a shit about things. Admittedly the story isn't perfect, but there's just so much there (at least for me).

I recently played a EVN called Asphyxia, surprisingly well written given EVN's reputations as well as the somewhat idiotic premise of the story (famous poets who are turned into cute girls) which was a bit off putting at first. Pirated version is easy to find, but if you're too lazy for that it's quite cheap too. I recommend this one if you're looking for a sad (but never overly melodramatic which is nice) and very somber type story. The girls actually reflect the poets they are based off in subtle but interesting and humorous ways. Play this one if you want something more serious.

Flowers Le Volume Sur Printemps is a mystery yuri vn, and it also has one of the most beautiful artwork in a yuri visual novel I have ever seen. Not just yuri even, I'd say most visual novels as well. It's a mystery type vn that takes place at a all girls catholic school, others have found the story to be a bit too slow, but I enjoyed the slow comfy pace myself. I may have also heard some complaints of the english translation, not sure, so be wary, read reviews, etc.

For a more SOL and fun type visual novel, I also recommend Kindred Spirits On The Roof. You play as a girl who gets to play matchmaker with all of her female classmates with the help of two lesbian ghosts. It's pretty light hearted and fun, so if that's what you're looking for, I'd recommend this one.
