W-what counts as sexual abuse? I was abused for a short period of time as a kid and now that I feel depressed I've been thinking that may have been the reason.

If you have, then you should know that when you're in that mentally, you can't really "control" what you do.. it's weird to explain. It's like your psychological defenses shut down and you're just prone to do something you will regret. That's how people kill themselves. They're in this mentality. I have many times.. it's scary.

Yes. Something similar to Chester. And he's made plenty of songs talking about his depression.. I wouldnt be surprised if he an hero's someday. But as I said, I've never heard of any rappers killing themselves. It doesnt seem to be in the hip hop culture to do that.

I think it's at a rate much higher than non-blacks. But if the white suicide by cop is 2% of all white suicides, I'd imagine that black suicide by cop is 5% of all black suicides. I don't have any evidence of this. It just makes sense to me from a psychological standpoint. Many people who want to commit suicide are ashamed of it and want to put the blame on someone else (an ex, their job, their parents, ect) and many people prefer to make it look like an accident. Black people know that if they get shot by a cop and the cop was justified that they'll get a lot of support from their people regardless. It just makes sense as an avenue to commit suicide while not appearing to be cowardly and to be a martyr for your community.

Sure, it usually doesn't start that way, but often people who are in those situations, regardless of race, make the conscious decision to push it much farther than they have to with a genuine hope to die as a result.

Sure, but a junkie who shoots more heroin than a sober person ever could shoot and live because they don't have the same tolerance as the junkie knows that they are approaching a very fine line between life and death when they are getting high. It's not the same thing as tying a noose or pulling a trigger because it's not as certain. It's more like russian roulette. But often people who are depressed and who regularly tread a fine line between death and life will push themselves to the limits of that threshold hoping to die. Not the same thing as preplanned suicide, but it's still a form of suicide.

Can't say I didn't see this coming. I've gotta admit that it was AMV's that introduced me to LP, and most of the rock bands I listen to for that matter. I began to explore farther than that and later became a huge fan of their music. I'd listen during my workouts, as they motivated me to lose weight. I even listened to them on my walks from school, but hearing the same lyrics over and over, I began to realize a very eerie message that hide behind the lyrics. Even his latest song heavy, while it isn't a favorite among fans, the lyrics "I'm holding on, why is everything so heavy. I'm holding on, so much more than I can carry", you can hear the struggles he was going through. Most rock songs sort of convey similar messages for the most part but me being a robot I could tell there was something going on with Chester, as cringey and cheesey as that sounds. Fuck what anyone says, LP was a great band and Chester will be missed. If the message wasn't clear already, all the fame and fortune in the word can't save you from depression.
