I truly believe that if I hadn't listened to this album almost every day back when I was 12, i wouldn't be into the amount of experimental music that I am today. Its not like A Thousand Suns is the most experimental album out there, but it opened my mind to the fact that music didn't have to stick to a specific style throughout an album or adhere to traditional strong structure. I don't just think of it as a stepping stone either ; coming back to it now, there's still a ton of amazing songs here. I don't really care.
I don't consider his body of work to be especially good, i consider LP to be extremely gimmicky and only culturally relevant because a specific generation of kids grew up with them instead of better artists that tackled themes such as being depressed and suicidal way better, and with more honesty.

Additionally, due to the consistent themes LP used, his suicide isn't surprising in the slightest.
I guess many of you here grew up with Hybrid Theory and Meteora, i most definitely didn't.

It is my opinion that music as a whole has pretty much lost objectively nothing today, regardless of how sad any of you feel about this for personal and/or childhood reasons.
