Hi lads, I'd like to get feedback on a potential new feature of /britfeel/: /britfit/

The premise is very simple. Each day we count how many pushups we can do. You post how many you could do in the thread with a trip (using the following format in the name field: username##password), and I'll compile everyone's numbers into a spreadsheet that I'll update daily. I'll post the spreadsheet in the thread daily (or maybe a graph if I can figure out how) and we can use both this and support from our fellow lads to inspire us to keep going.

I chose pushups because they require no equipment, they're easy to commit to, they're easy to see progress, and they're a good exercise.

It's ok if you can't do a pushup. If you can't then instead you just hold yourself in the pushup position for as long as you can and time yourself, and I'll put your time into the spreadsheet. You'll probably notice an improvement of about 5 seconds per day, and once you're able to hold it for between 1 to 2 minutes you'll likely be strong enough to do a few regular pushups.

A proper pushup is where you have your feet together, your back straight, your hands shoulder-width apart, your hands turned out 45 degrees, and as you lower yourself to the ground you keep your elbows at a 45 degree angle to your body (rather than flaring them out). You lower yourself low enough that your nose is or is almost touching the ground. Then you push yourself up to the starting position. If there is positive response to this then we'll start tomorrow, by you doing the pushups in your own time and reporting back the most you could do in a single go. I'd like to get at least 5 lads involved in this and willing to commit and do this everyday.
