Why do people like Cortana so much? I've never understood these obsessions with the aesthetic steam profile, low-number of friends, hyper-depressed folk on /sft/.

They're moody, they never have anything interesting to say because their only hobby is wallowing in their depression, they're too socially autistic to carry a conversation, ect. Mhm, I think people like you, or maybe that impression is just created because you post all the time. It seems like people want your attention, and like it's a privilege to speak to you or add you. I just know a few similar people, I guess. When you first get to know them; they're cold, wary, and they act like it's an honor to speak to them, and you have to go through whatever ridiculous mental vetting process they have. Then if you get to know them, it's an interesting minefield of a relationship where they either fall in love with you or become so clingy it's suffocating. Then you have to be prepared to have suicide threatened against you all the time if you don't date em', or get deleted along with the rest of their friend's list if you aren't willing to spend enough time on them in the clingy case.

I'm assuming I'm wrong and just being stereotypical, though.

Sounds like you've put too much trust into someone who only had sights on you as someone to emotionally leech off of in the first place. You don't have to make up for telling someone no you had every right to tell no to. If they stopped caring about you as much after you told them no, I think it's quite obvious they had no interest in the first place being your friend. Take it as an opportunity, you've been lucky to figure out so quickly someone who you thought could have been a good friend wanted nothing but to use you, so you've been freed of a burdensome relationship before anything meaningful actually developed. You should probably remove them.

I was only trying to make ammends because I enjoyed doing things with them back at the start. I don't believe they wanted to use me, they wanted to be friends and don't want a bf or something to get in the way. Its not the bf though, its just like why should I try for such a strong friendship if they aren't trying with me. I'd be much more understanding of a bf if they were still able to treat me with respect and such, but they can clearly only focus on one person at a time. I think this problem is very common, he quickly got infatuated with you and that's why probably why he enjoyed your company so much, I think after you turned him down it's difficult to just be friends again.

He might have been quick to develop feelings for other people too, so when someone accepted him obviously he'd spend time with that person instead.
