That being said, if you're an Amerifag, last year Congress passed legislation to streamline the release of new medicines/surgeries/etc. by massively cutting down on the amount of clinical trials that need to be done (similar legislation is in place in Japan). Plus, several companies are investing pretty heavily into regenerative treatments for baldness like stem cell therapy. I'm fairly optimistic that at the very least, significantly better treatments will be available within the next few years (a full-blown cure is probably still at least a decade away, though).

And to answer OP's question, I'm 25 and a NW3V, approaching a NW4V. No one's given me shit about it, but it's been wrecking my self-esteem. I can grow a very good beard, at least. I was about to shave it, but the one thing I have been using to treat my MPB is Nizoral shampoo, and a few days ago I actually did notice that my hair strands are starting to look a bit thicker, and a few baby hairs are sprouting along my hairline. I'm going to wait a few more months and see what happens.
