I thought about this too, it's a difficult cycle since my ego and confidence were low because I was a man but I thought maybe they'd rise for some other reason and I'd stop caring. It never worked like that, and it only got worse until I made the plunge.

My advice if you're unsure, start HRT. None of it is really permanent for the first year, see if you like it and if you don't just stop and go back to being a guy.

First of all, HRT isn't a procedure - it's simply various medications which could potentially make you more feminine. The reason why there is talk to remove gender dysphoria from the 'book of mental illnesses' next to other types of dysphorias (I don't particularly think it should be but that's no the point) is because unlike every other type of body dysphoria, gender dysphoria has an extremely high success rate of going away after treatment with HRT and such.

Like, people who want to cut off their legs aren't happy after they cut off their legs. Anorexic people aren't happy no matter how skinny they get. But make a tranny look and feel like a girl, and their situation basically always improves massively. Only times it really doesn't is when the transition doesn't work out, and that has more to do with technology not really being there to help everyone.
