In 1 month the shop I've been working at for 2 and a half years is closing down.

I'm finding myself more emotional about this than I expected. I've always told my friends it would be sick if I got made redundant because I could leave without any downside and some free money, however now its happening I'm only slightly happy about it.

I constantly moaned about the place, but knew it was an easy job that paid fairly well. Still I really wanted to leave because I wanted free time and it was boring. Now looking at it, yeah its boring, but I can socialize with people that I like most of the time and 90% of the time its laid back as fuck. Getting paid to do barely anything and always having someone to talk to that I almost always like.

I've also made basically every friend in the last 2.5 years through that shop. These are pretty much the only people I hang around with and talk to outside work, whether they've left the shop already or not, which is making me real sad to know I'll only see these people like 50% as much and we will drift apart once we get new jobs. I don't think I'll find another job where it mostly involves just socializing with my mates while doing easy work.

Then there's the money. I'm planning on having some time off (about 6 months) before I try to find another job. I have 10k in savings right now which is a lot considering I have basically no expenses and can be good at saving money on stuff but I'm worried if I don't find a job I want or I fall into the NEET trap and do nothing for years again that I'll lose everything I've earned. I was finally starting to get around my frugalness recently and buying stuff I wanted but couldn't justify, but now I'm going right back to square one.

The only benefit is the free time to chill and not have to worry about having to go to work.

Its crazy how this was my first ever job and I got so lucky. I complained about it so much, but I just know in the future whatever job I get will never be as good as this one.

Should play and probably finish Ground Zeroes today.
I can't quite put into words how good Rising was, parrying a long combos was unbelievably satisfying and the bosses were impeccable. The characters were fun and had neat designs, but a lot weren't fleshed out, though it doesn't really matter for this kind of game. Senator Armstong was absolutely incredible, and I can't help but wonder if games imitate life, or if life imitates games at this point. Definitely recommend giving it a look even if you've never played an MGS game before.

Still 10 months of talking every day and meeting up regularly without major incident, and no we talk on the phone when he's on the bus to work, on his entire lunch break, on his way home and all weekend. He hasn't got the time to cheat even if he wanted to.
