It's always had a bit of an Animal Farm feeling to me, not sure if that's what it's actually making fun of though.

There's also the tumblr post where someone says that it's pigs drawn by a guy who's never seen a pig before, but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with oats, or if it's credible.

After doing some research, pigs do indeed eat oats, so it's not a joke where pigs don't actually eat oats.

I'll help you out here, as I'm the on who forced this meme.

Basically some dude started posting "brother may i have some oats" on this board less than a week ago with the now well known picture of two pigs, but his threads got no attention and died out really fast. I really liked how weird his threads sounded and so the other day I kept bumping it with the same picture until it took off and has now caught on.

The truth is there is no hidden or deep meaning. Its just a retarded "meme" about pigs begging for oats. I guess its supposed to follow the format of the pigs never being satisfied and continually asking for oats to upset people. But thats something I injected into the "meme". It was originally just an obscure tumblr crosspost.
