>You are the Machine Empire
>For long you have gathered, built and repurposed the materials of this land, the left over commandment from your long gone creators still holding power: "seize control of this land and create the Machine God". The Machine God being a huge factory capable of taking raw materials and creating sentient machines, something the Creators, and you, can only do through careful hand crafting and countless hours of work. You still don't know HOW to create the Machine God, but you know the end product. Your machines live in subterranean bases with power nets and tunnels reaching between them, having used the fact that you need neither nutrition nor sleep to work, you have created ruthlessly efficient systems and factories that would make a normal human die of exhaustion if he worked there for more than a day. So far the conquest of this land has been easy, but recently, a couple of wood-humans have gotten in the way when you traversed from the mainland to the neighbouring Island. They have powerful synergy with their ecosystem, and seem to be against your goals. Thankfully, to aid in your conquest, the Creators have left you with an ancient artifact of great power.
>Lens if the Creator
>Although you as a species are incompatible with the mana of this land, they left you with the Lens, which can easily channel mana into your desired effect. It can also just as easily locate mana reserves and deposits when slotted into the eye.
>Cog of the Creator
>A device which looks like a cog. It is capable of converting materials into energy and vice versa. This is also known to be a part of the Machine God (if this artifact is chosen)
>Sword of the Creator
>A sword left for the leader to use, it crackles with energy. When turned off, it's a masterfully crafted sword, which can easily be wielded and could slice through anything but heavy plate.
When turned on, it consumes power, but an energy field activates around it, allowing it to slice through just about anything. It also has a couple of abilities, like being able to shoot balls of lightning, growing the sword into a huge 3M long sword made of lightning. It can aldo create a forcefield, though this takes up a lot of energy.

Once again, very nice idea op, hope qst will play along
You're trying to run two Civ threads simultaneously on /qst/?
This board is pretty sparse in terms of players, so if you want your quest to get off the ground you need to retain a solid base of players...
One of the best ways to keep players engaged is to maintain a good pace...
With that said, do you think you will be able to manage two threads fast enough to keep people from getting bored and wandering off?

So far, you've gone off the mainland into the westward waters for about ~3 kilometers, and you've found 3 islands. The first one was north-west of your location on the mainland, and you sucked the first one dry of minerals, wood, plants, animals, you name it. All of it fed to the Cog for more energy. The second island is south-west of your position on the mainland, you are also in the process of sucjing the second island dry, and the third island is the one that contains the wood-humans, which is in-between the two other islands, sort of.
You send out your flying drones (you have 5) to go scout further westward. The drones find 3 more islands, first one is a rather large one north-west of the first island you found, the second is south-west of the Dryads island, and has shown nothing of note, just normal plant-life and and wildlife. The third is north-west of the Dryads island, and seems to contain a volcano. Not sure if it's inactive or active, but it'll probably bring some interesting research.

You decide that before Harvesting anything, you need to improve the battery storages. Taking a note from the sword the Creators left you, you compact the energy in it by focusing it into electric fields.
>Batteries can now store 750 energy instead of 500
You also start construction on a general use factory which'll be able to construct basic things automatically, like a couple of worker drones, or warrior drones. Constructing the factory is going to drain some energy to create the materials though.

Currently, you only have the Cog to produce power through material conversion. This is not enough though, and you decide to fix this problem.
You start designing a geothermal generator which'll take advantage of your underground position. The design seems fine after some erasing and redesigning, and it gets ready to be built. Halfway through building it though, one of the parts violently blows up and destroys several of your worker drones. Obviously you're going to need to redesign the generator a bit more.
>You have lost 34 worker drones
In other news, the construction of the factory is going swimmingly. In-fact, its almost done. Just a bit of a finishing operation and it should be ready to start constructing stuff.

Although you lost some worker drones in the earlier accident, the factory comes along nicely, and gets finished up in a day or two. Problem is, you're not sure what to build with it yet. The first time you start building stuff it'll start building that stuff instantaneously, but if you ever want to change it again, its going to take a turn to change over, in which the factory wont produce anything.
>What do you want the factory to construct?
You keep on trying to redesign the geothermal generator, but after the last accident, you're not very keen on rushing it, instead focusing on being careful. You notice quite a lot of glaring issues with your previous design, and have started fixing them, but some of them run to the core of the design. This will take some time...
Not only that, but your drones have noticed actual humans in groups of 5 or so walking in your general area. Not close enough to provoke any drones, but close enough for your flying ones to spot them.

Now comrades, we have the dilemma of either manufacturing or relegating our collective intellect towards your geothermal generator
I for one would like to construct a mobile command center, maybe a flying, levitating command ship to inspire awe and increase our capacity for mobility
