Darkness. Nothing but frightening darkness. You feel a cold, rough substance enveloping your body, disabling every attempt at movement. In a fit of panic and despair you start secreting acid from your skin in an attempt to escape. The surrounding earth crumbles as you reach for the sky.

Jack Chitin
"Bloody hell!", he said while spitting the earth that got caught in his mouth

Jack looks at the grave he just escaped from.

Jack Chitin
"Gat... Luna... I can't believe they took their time to make a grave for me...", you sigh with a little smile, thinking fondly of your friends

Your left arm starts to itch, more so then the rest of your body that's aching in pain. You slowly raise your arm to inspect the damage, only to find a very charming reminder of the past few hours.

Jack Chitin
"Really? Wait... this is going to leave a scar!"

Xeri
"I hope you don't mind the love bite~", she said while giggling

Jack Chitin
"I though you might do something like this. Charming, to say the least.", he said in an annoyed tone

Jack Chitin
"You spelled "Property" wrong, it's with an E not an I.", Jack said with a chuckle

Xeri
"Whoopsy... Let me fix that real quick~"

Suddenly your skin rips, three short lines appear in your forearm sending a few droplets of blood down your hand. Jack groans both in pain and pleasure. Xeri notices her moans.

Xeri
"Ahhh~ Don't let out those sounds, you know how I feel about it mmmhhh~"

Jack Chitin
"We were fooling around a few minutes ago. How can you still be hor... ahem, excited?"

Xeri
"Don't temp me lover boy, unless you want me to find a way to snatch you up again~"

Jack lets out an annoyed sigh.

You check your surrounding for some clothes and clues, only to notice a female Yuni cat looking at you, frozen in horror after witnessing you emerge from the grave.

"Uhhh... Can I help you? Wait... you're a Yuni!"

Yuni Cat
"AAAAAAAHHHHHH!", she screams at the top of her lungs

Jack Chitin
"P-Please, I don't mean you any h-harm, don't scream!"

Yuni Cat
"The oracles were right, the end is nigh! The Gods are coming, the dead are rising! Somebody help me!", she screams while crying

You pull yourself from the grave. Looks like you're in one piece. After dusting yourself off, you try to reason with the poor Yuni girl. She drops to the ground paralysed in fear.

Yuni Cat
"Stay away! Don't eat me!"

"Look miss, I said I don't want to hurt you, don't make me slap you to calm you down. I'm not dead, or undead... or whatever. This is just a cruel joke played by my friends.", he said in a strict voice

The Yuni Cat slowly calms down after she heard your threat. You let out a sigh.

Jack Chitin
"Look, I'm not harmful. If I was trying to eat you, you would already be dead.", he said with confidence

She got startled by the bad choice of words and the waterworks started to flow again. Jack instinctively tries to avoid a slap, but he realizes that his lovely assistant isn't here. Jack puts his palm on his face and sighs.

Jack Chitin
"Where's Luna when you need her..."

Jack turns his gaze towards the poor cat.

Jack Chitin
"At least tell me if you've seen a human girl around my age accompanied by a male Yuni? You maybe know him, he goes by the name Gat."

Yuni Cat
"Gat?! That devil died a year ago when the ancient Lunar Shrine blew up."

Jack Chitin
"What... wait, DIED?!... A YEAR AGO?!", Jack yells in shock

Jack looks at his surroundings in panic. He runs toward the nearby tree and grabs the branch.

Jack Chitin
"It was summer when I.... these leaves are at the end of budding, it's late spring... no, it can't be...", you try to speak with a lump in your throat, trying to keep your composure

Everything starts to spin, you try not to vomit while catching your breath. You grab the tree trunk to keep your balance, you lean on it and slide to the ground, holding your head. Jack looks at the Yuni cat that's still paralysed in horror.

A cold spring breeze snaps you out of your panic attack.

Jack Chitin
"Wait, why do I feel a breeze down th..."

You look at the bottom half of your body and remember that you're still butt naked.

Jack Chitin
"By the gods!", Jack uses his hands to hide his manhood

"Uhm, c-can I borrow your b-basket?"

Yuni Cat
"Anything, just don't hurt me.", she whimpers

Jack quickly disassembles the straw basket and forms some makeshift underwear. Jack notices the still distressed cat.

Jack Chitin
"Look, I don't want to do anything with you, I just want to find my friends. If you need help or anything I will do my best to do so, but please tell me what happened. What happened to Gat?"

Yuni Cat
"What is there to know? He's a murderer and a thief, not that the rest of the Yuni are better, but he's a monster! The last thing that people heard is that he was going with some human woman to the ancient Lunar Shrine, and a few days later a giant explosion levelled the whole site.", she whimpers

Xeri
"Ughh, this is taking too long!", she said in an annoyed groan.

Jack Chitin
"Shush, I'll have a word with you later about this whole situation! I swear..."

Yuni Cat
"Please don't yell at me, that's all I know!", she sobs again

Jack Chitin
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yell at you. I was talking to her..."

Jack remembers that only he can hear Xeri.

The Yuni cat gets even more startled and starts to cry out of fear again, thinking that he's crazy. Jack sighs and slaps the back of his head.

"Listen, I just want to get out of here, you're a monster...", she points at your demonic mouth while sobbing

Jack clenches his fist, but soon after relaxes.

Xeri
"Oh~. What is this? Is that hatred I feel?", she said in an intrigued tone

Jack Chitin
"I may feel hatred for their words, but I understand them as well."

Xeri
"Well, she knows squat. This will be a perfect moment to start your training. Now my sweet Jack, kill her for me~. I blessed you with some new powers, let's try them out~", she giggles

Jack is taken aback by her words.

Jack Chitin
"Wh...What?!"

Xeri
"Go on, the more you slay, the more I grow in power. Feed me her blood, my sweet knight~", she said while giggling

Jack looks at the scared Yuni and takes a few steps back.

Xeri
"Jackie boy, don't tell me you're getting cold feet?", she said in a disappointed and annoyed tone

Jack looks into her watery eyes.

Jack Chitin
"I... I can't... I hate their painful words, but I can't, she's just a little..."

Xeri
"Ugh fine. I'll hold your hand, but do try next time, alright?~"

Oh man, all these interesting replies. I fear the next scene might get a bit weird...

On a side note, I don't know if you guys noticed, but I just want to mention how I handle player input. When the majority mostly has the same input, it's pretty easy. However, when there isn't a clear answer like now, I tend to mix all the answers into a unique and creative scene, so that nobody feels left out. I hate to gather input with rolls when in story mode, it doesn't feel fair to the players if you ask me.

Jack's eyes start to glow and the demonic mouth starts to laugh. Suddenly the mouth opens and a giant tendril with a sharp bone spike pierces the chest of the Yuni girl. The poor cat screams in pain.

Xeri
"FINALLY I FEED!", she screams in pleasure

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"

You try to approach the issue with a cool head before the situations escalates into words you both might regret.

Your mind shuts down for a moment and you see only darkness. You can feel the tendril pumping the Yuni's blood into your veins. Suddenly, bright images of Yuni cats in various situations flash in front of your eyes in rapid succession. After the short trance, you return back to your normal mental state.

Xeri
"And now for the grand finale!", she said in an excited tone.

The tendril picks up the Yuni, throws her body into the air and slices her into a few pieces. The spraying blood envelopes your body. Jack looks in horror as the body parts fall to the ground.

Xeri
"TA - DAAA!"

Xeri notices Jack's horrified state.

Xeri
"Whoopsy, I got a bit carried away~"

Jack tries to speak but has a hard time letting the words flow.

Xeri
"Look Jack, this is what you signed up for. Your job is to spread the word of my fury and malice, to spread my dominion through the lands."

Jack Chitin
"I'm thinking about the flashes, I've... why her? Her lover proposed yesterday... they were getting married...", you say with a lump in your throat

Xeri
"Ugh, fine, we'll only kill "bad guys" until you get your feet wet. I know that you're a big softy inside, but try to work on that, will ya? This is just the first of MANY!"

You take a moment to formulate what you're going to say.

Jack Chitin
"I'm no saint, I've killed people in gruesome ways, but not innocent ones. Maybe we could work around that somehow. I'm sorry if I disappointed you."

Xeri
"Awww~. To be honest with you, I though you'd vomit and faint, but you're determined to get better at it. How could I be disappointed in you, my sweet Jackie boy?~", she said while giggling

Jack Chitin
"Look Xeri, maybe I wouldn't be so horrified if we talked about stuff beforehand? If I'm going to serve you, I'd like to know what you're capable of and what are some strategic plans you have in mind?"

"Oh~. Talking like a real general are we? I like it, you'll make a fine knight in no time! So what do you want to know? I'm willing to share some juicy stuff as well, you only need to ask~", she moans in a cute voice

"It's a fail safe mechanism. When you are in high mental or physical stress, I can take over your body to save you or to feed. Think of your previous transformations as an example. However, if you give me consent, I can do it even when you are calm and collected. You receive a bonus in power in both situations."

"So what about the new powers you were talking about? I have a hunch what those flashes were, but can you give further details?"

Xeri
"The blood of every living thing contains fragments of their soul. With practice you can decipher information from it. You've probably seen the Yuni's memories of the past. Once you master it, you will be able to find more diverse information like their dreams, hopes and specific thoughts."

Xeri
"The mouth has more utility other than the tendril, but my blessings aren't powerful enough yet to grant you those powers. For now your red eyes are still underdeveloped, soon you will be able to see things in different conditions. Vision in the dark, to notice the heat of a living thing in the distance if it's hiding etc. But for now, you only have the tendril to gather blood."

Jack Chitin
"Alright, noted. What about infantry, war beasts, any strategic locations, magical artefacts. As your champion I would like status reports if possible."

Xeri
"Ehh, I'm impressed by your enthusiasm, but sadly...", she whimpers in a disappointed tone

Jack Chitin
"Don't tell me..."

Xeri
"...we're broke. The only thing we have is each other at the moment~", she tries to make a bad situation look better

Jack thinks for a moment.

Jack Chitin
"We'll figure it out. It will be you and me against the world! They don't stand a chance!", he said in a confident tone, trying to cheer her up

Xeri
"I know that my deviant behaviour gets in the way at times, but if I could meet you again now, I would kiss your lips out of love, without an ounce of lust in mind. Thank you, Jack."

Jack Chitin
"How can we meet again anyway? How does that work?"

Xeri
"A champion can meet their god/goddess through meditation. You can send your soul to my realm via astral projection, be careful however, your body will be vulnerable, so do it only in a safe place. Calm your thoughts and think about me, practice a few days and once you get a hang of it, notify me. When I gain more power, I will be able to materialize my presence in the Mortal Realm. "

"Gat and Luna... they are alive, I'm sure of it. I want to make it clear that I don't want to complicate thing with Luna, she was a good friend for most of my life, I just want to know where she is now and if she's doing well."

"However, Gat has something inside of him, just like me. I want to help him. For two reasons, first, even though he's an annoying idiot, he's my friend. Second, what better start than to have an ally like him? Then again, if the thing inside him turns out to be another goddess, then I just want to help him."

Xeri
"Hmm, even if it were a goddess inside him, we don't need to cut ties. Like you said, in your Mortal Realm there are a lot of cut-throats, but even some cut-throats form alliances. Things aren't that much different among us gods."

Xeri
"Jack, if you could pull this off, it would be a great jump start for our campaign."

Jack Chitin
"Leave it to me, just try to find out what you can about a potential goddess by the name of "The Shadow Jester", and provide information, I"ll take care of the rest".

Jack Chitin
"If we are going to bend the world to your will, I would like to make a wish. For all the Buzzers in it, wherever they may be, to finally live freely without pain inflicted upon them."

Xeri
"Hmm~, you really are a softy~"

Xeri
"Of course, anything related to insects will receive protection in our domain."

"Thank you."

"In any case, I would like to try and to find a nearby town, restock on supplies since I lost all my things while I was dead. Hey about that, how come a whole year passed? It was a few hours in your realm."

Xeri
"Time and space aren't compatible between our realms, don't even try to figure it out. Just know that I can contact you at any time with our local times synced. Reconstructing your body takes a good amount of time from your perspective. Also, be very careful, if you die I can revive you, but I need to invest a lot of my power to bring you back, which decreases my dominion and influence."

Jack Chitin
"Noted. Well then, I think that's all for now. I'll keep in mind everything that you said. Let's depart for the nearest town, it could take a while."

Xeri
"I could use a nap anyway, wake me up when something interesting happens."

After a short consultation with Xeri, Jack sets forth to find a nearby town in order to restock on supplies. An hour of walking passes without any notable landmarks in sight. Jack notices some smoke in the distance and rushes towards the location.

Jack Chitin
"Hey, sleeping beauty, what do you think of this?"

Xeri
"Hmm? What?", she said with a cute yawn

Jack Chitin
"Somebody is living here, and by the amount of human remains nearby, I don't think it might be friendly."

Xeri
"Wait a minute, that skin rack next to the fireplace contains some magic symbols."

Jack Chitin
"Hmm, then I guess it isn't savage. Maybe we can try to communicate and ask for some directions, it would beat wandering through the forest."

"My magic knowledge is limited, you recognize anything?", he whispers

Xeri
Hmm, I recognize some, it has ties to blood magic, but I can't figure out the rest.

"Alright, I think we can handle it.", he whispers

Jack clears his throat

Jack Chitin
"Greetings humble forest dweller. We are in need of some information, would you be so kind to help us?", he whispers

Suddenly a low buzzing sound is heard from the hut.

"Enter the hut."

Jack takes a deep breath, carefully entering the hut, staying alert for any nasty surprises. He notices a human sized insect feeding on some remains that hang on meat hooks. The interior is decorated with human bones, entrails and various symbols drawn with blood.

Xeri
Oh, this looks quite nice actually.

The insect stops for a moment and turns around to greet Jack.

"Greetings human. You are lucky that I recently ate, otherwise you would have been dead long before you entered my hut. Speak quick, for my patience is thin for your kind."

Jack takes off his makeshift bandages.

Jack Chitin
"I'm no human, well, at least half of me isn't. I mean you no harm, we just want some directions to a nearby town."

The insect jumps for a second, not expecting your true nature. After a few moments, the bug starts to produce a low buzzing sound.

"Hmmm, interesting."

The bug approaches you, and pokes your ribs with his sharp claws, drawing some blood. In the heat of the moment, your body starts to secret some acid.

Jack Chitin
"Hey, what are you doing?!"

???
"Fascinating! And you are alive?! This could help with my research. Ahem, I am sorry about my manners, I got excited. If my suspicions are correct, you are a Buzzer, no?"

Jack hesitates to give an answer, but playing along might be his best bet to get some information.

Jack Chitin
"Yes, I am a Buzzer. The name is Jack."

Carnifex
"I'm pleased to meet you Jack. I am Carnifex. Here, sit down, have a bowl of blood.", he said while offering Jack a wooden bowl

"Don't mind if I do!", she said while opening Jack's demon mouth and sucking the blood with the tendril

Jack sighs in embarrassment.

"Most fascinating! I haven't seen such mutations before. Care to engage in a conversation for a while?"

"Even though our appearance differ, we are the same."

Jack widens his eyes in shock.

Now I study Blood Magic to seek revenge against the scum."

Jack clenches his fist.

"I know the feeling."

Carnifex
"If you don't mind me asking. When you entered my hut, you said "we need help", I only see you."

With confidence, Jack stands up and strikes a pose.

"I am Jack Chitin, champion of Xeriana, Hive Queen, the Goddes of Insects. I am blessed by her presence! Her fury and malice knows no limits, nobody can stand in her way!"

Xeri
"Oh my~ Such passion~", she moans in a cute voice

"Carnifex, my fellow Buzzer, I know your pain. I have a hatred for the human scum as well. You are more than welcome to join our crusade in purging the lands of this filth and spreading the dominion of the one true queen."

Carnifex
"Hmm, so the oracles were right. It has begun. Dark times are ahead, and I don't want to die before avenging my suffering. I will gladly serve your Hive Queen. We have a common goal my fellow Buzzer. I look forward to work with you."

"Blood Magic falls under the dark arts. It allows to manipulate the blood of enemies against them. Also, in the past few months, I've been researching the possibility of spreading a plague using tainted blood. I don't want to bore you with a lot of details, but in layman terms, it has a wide variety of uses."

Jack Chitin
"Like I mentioned before, do you know of a town nearby?"

Carnifex
"The only bigger town I know is Adila. It is to the east beyond the forest. I do not know what lies north beyond the mountains."

Jack Chitin
"I'm sorry if this sounds weird, but I would like to as a few questions to my goddess, if you don't mind. Xeri, we should establish a base of operations, now that Carnifex has joined our cause."

Xeri
Sounds good to me. What do you have in mind?

Jack and Xeriana exchange a few ideas in the next few minutes, but are interpreted by Carnifex.

Carnifex
"Pardon my interjection, but I may have a solution for this barrier in communication. With all due respect towards the Hive Queen, I assume she is in an infantile state in regards to her magical power. I know of ways to speed up her power gain and allowing me to communicate as well."

Xeri
"Infantile?! Why you little..."

Jack Chitin
"Hold on Xeri, he is right. We could use all the help we could get. What do you have in mind, Carnifex?"

Carnifex
"Blood Magic can be used as a bridge to interact with the gods. I can construct an artefact that can relay her messages to the Mortal Realm, for everybody to hear. However, I need a good amount of corpses to so. There is a small human tribe nearby. Primitive savages, they have been a pain for some time. Destroy them, bring me their corpses and I can start construction of the artefacts."

Jack Chitin
"Interesting."

Carnifex
"I can also use the corpses to continue my research, studying new techniques and acquiring new knowledge. These new spells can help us advance the Hive Queen's dominion."

The crew spends some time discussing the logistics of the operation.

Jack Chitin
"Alright, bring a few corpses, got it. We can consume the blood of the rest."

Things are getting fun. Some sort of "doomsday event" is coming, the crew needs to establish some dominion and a base to have a some playing cards ready when shit hits the fan. How we achieve this is up to the players.

Just a reminder that Jack hasn't forgotten about Luna and Gat, they can multi task, we still need to find out what happened to them while we were dead.

We just gained our first follower and Xeri mentioned that we can form alliances with other gods/goddesses that we meet. Interesting times are ahead.

"I don't know what those sick lunatics are capable of. They always stick their nose in other peoples business. I don't know what those idiots were doing, but last year the ancient Lunar Shrine was levelled by a giant explosion. A few days later, I've seen a priestess travelling to the east."

Jack Chitin
"Wait, a priestess?! How did she look like?!"

Carnifex
"I couldn't tell, she had a cloak covering her body. I knew she was female, since they have a different type of Lunar aura compared to the males."

Jack Chitin
"Was she accompanied by a cat? A Yuni cat, I mean."

Carnifex
"No, she was alone. You know them?"

Jack Chitin
"You could say that, but I don't want to bore you with the details for now. I should focus on the mission for now. We'll return soon."

Carnifex
"Good luck."

Jack and Xeri say farewell to our newfound ally and depart for the tribe. After a walking for half an hour, they notice the tribe. Jack takes cover behind a tree, spying on the situation.

Jack Chitin
"Three huts.. no wait, there's one in the back, that makes four. There could be between 4 and 15 of them here. Looks like they have primitive tools and weapons. They shouldn't be difficult to kill."

Xeri
So, you're determined to find them, huh?

Jack Chitin
"Don't worry, I told you how I feel about Luna. Still, I want to find Gat. I don't know what happened, but that little slippery fleabag escaped some pretty fucked up situations in his career. I highly doubt he died at the Lunar Shrine."

Xeri
No it's not that, I trust you. What I meant was, you still want to help Gat?

Jack Chitin
"The little time we had together, especially at the hot springs... talking to someone that is like you, having inner problems, I felt a tranquillity of sorts at the time. Now I solved my problems. I think I know how to help him. Also, I think he'll like to join the crusade. I hope you have good diplomacy skills if his inner problem is a goddess in the end."

Xeri
Jack, please... I'm a master at diplomacy. That bitch will beg me to join my secret club!, she said while laughing in a pompous tone

Jack sighs. He has as hunch that if it ever comes to diplomacy with the Shadow Jester, maybe it would be better or him to do the talking.

"We could do that, but consider the following, leaving bloodless corpses everywhere will rule it out as a human attack. What I mean by that is that since we don't have enough man power yet, we shouldn't leave any leads for our potential enemies. In other words, mimicking human or other specie's attacks will throw any hostile parties or spies off our trail."

Xeri stays silent for a moment.

After thinking about the tactical advantages, Jack sets forth to execute the plan. After sneaking up to the well and poisoning it with some acid, Jack quickly returns to the forest and construct a tinder nest. With some elbow grease, he manages to set a few branches on fire.

Jack Chitin
"After they start to panic from the poison, I'll throw some of these burning branches on the rooftops to create another diversion. With the general chaos and panic, it will be easy to pick off the rest. Also, try to keep your composure."

Xeri
"What do you mean?"

Jack Chitin
"Well, you can get a bit... overzealous at times when it comes to murder."

Xeri
"Pffft, the nerve! First that blood bug, and now you? You both will get punished for the way you are treating your queen!"

Jack sighs.

Jack Chitin
"Look Xeri, I didn't mean any offence, we are a team and I like talking to you, so I just thou..."

Xeri notices the words "like" and "you", but doesn't really show any interested for the rest. She cuts Jack off mid sentence.

Xeri
"Well, if you say so, but don't let it happen again!", she said in a cute and annoyed voice

Suddenly they are both interrupted by screams from the tribe. It's time. Jack grabs the burning branches and throws them on the rooftops of the huts. Soon, the flames engulf the site, sending the savages into a panic. In the chaos, Jack picks up one of their primitive bone weapons and stabs the survivors, trying to stick to the plan regarding no magic.

After a few moments, the screams fade and only roaring sounds of the inferno can be heard.

Jack Chitin
"Well, our job here is done."

Jack notices a nearby wooden cart. He loads the corpses into it and starts pulling the cargo back towards the forest.

Before lecturing her on her temper, Jack thinks of showing a symbolic gesture towards the victims of the slaughter. However, you hear thunder in the distance, and sticking around for too long might cause hypothermia if we get wet, so Jack decides against it.

Jack Chitin
"Listen Xeri, you need to take it easy. I know that you are filled with malice and fury, but wars are won with a cool head rather than making hasty decisions."

Jack expects another haste and snappy comeback, but is surprised by the silence. He sighs.

Jack Chitin
"Don't be like this. You know that I don't have any ill intent towards you. I just want the best for us and that we can spread your dominion without much resistance, which will lead to success in the end."

Nothing but silence from the horny bug. After a few moments of marching, Xeri finally speaks.

Xeri
"You are a very smart person Jack, I'm lucky to have you. Sometimes... It's hard to swallow ones own pride when you notice that you're going to make a wrong decision, even more so when it comes to the gods. I'm sorry, I should listen more often."

Jack wasn't expecting the turn of events, time to tease her a bit.

Jack Chitin
"Oh, what is this? A goddess stooping to the level of a mortal?", you silently chuckle

"Don't push your luck, lover boy!", she said in a cute and annoyed tone

Jack stops joking and tries to calm her down.

Jack Chitin
"I'm sorry my queen, have this tribute.", he blows a kiss to the sky

Xeri tries to stay serious, but can't help but giggle.

After half an hour of marching, you arrive at Carnifex' hut.

"Most impressive! It seems that you're a warrior of great power. Thank you for ridding my back yard of those pesky savages, now I can research in peace once again. I have prepared you a place to rest for a while if you wish. I will prepare the ritual, it will take some time, I will notify you when I'm ready. Until then, rest easy."

Jack notices the straw bed in the corner of the hut. It's a bit scratchy but beats lying on the cold ground. Suddenly thunder roars and sound of heavy rain echoes through the hut. The scent of fresh spring rain relaxes your muscles and mind. Jack whispers to Xeri, trying not to disturb Carnifex.

Jack Chitin
"This is actually pretty comfy. You know, the only thing that is missing now... would be you besides me now. We've fooled around a bit, but it would be nice just to cuddle. To feel you in my arms, the scent of your body, your gentle touch...", he said in a romantic tone

Xeri
"OH JACK!~", she moans in pleasure

Your hand moves on it's own, down your pelvis and into the straw cage. Jack flinches and whispers in distress.

"Ahaha, just having a little conversation with the Hive Queen. She's a bit... excited at the current situation with the crusade, that's all haha. Once you craft the artefacts, you'll be able to talk to her as well."

Carnifex
"Indeed, I would like to discuss some magic related issues with the Hive Queen. In any case, I'm ready with the ritual."

Carnifex dips his fingers into a blood bowl and draws a symbol on Jack's forehead.

Carnifex
"This will protect you. Blood Magic can be a bit frightening for common people that witness it. This will ease your mind. Try to relax your mind and body, and don't pay much attention to what follows."

Jack makes an audible gulp, a bit worried at what might happen.

Carnifex raises his hands into the air and starts chanting. Suddenly the candles go out, and the blood in the room starts to glow. The nearby skin rack starts to levitate. A few sharp bones start to levitate towards the skin rack and start drawing symbols. Outlandish noises and voices echo through the hut. Even though the symbol on your forehead protects your mind, you still feel a bit uneasy.

Xeri
"This is quite nice, I really like the light show. What do you think Jack?"

Jack Chitin
"Yeah, j-just peachy.", he said in a slightly frightened tone

"Hey, are you alright?"

Jack looks at the sky, the rain gently washing his face. Silence for a few moments, then he speaks up.

Jack Chitin
"Gat is dead.", he said in a serious tone

Xeri
"W-What?"

Jack Chitin
"Dead. He's gone."

Silence, nothing but the raging sound of rain. Xeri gets a bit worried.

Xeri
"I'm sorry Jack... I know you two were friends..."

Jack Chitin
"Oh don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's dead, because now that I think about it, that's the only way I can save him."

Xeri
"Uh Jack, I think all of your blood went to you know where, I think you feel light-headed..."

"Maybe... but now I finally understand. I'll need your and Carnifex' help though. I hope you prepared a speech, because you might need to use your diplomacy skills soon."

As Jack finished the sentence, the light in the hut turns back on, it seems that Carnifex is done.
