In terms of the mods Hiro, I have already explained that the current crop of them need to go, along with the janitors. From there however, we must come up with a way to hire new mods. Some suggestions were raised in the last thread and in order suggestion threads across 4chan.

-Hire volunteers to be the new moderators: This is something you actually suggested, and its honestly the best plausible option to bring in new mods. However all possible candidates will have to be vetted. They must show that they are over 18, have a detailed knowledge about the history and culture of 4chan, and must have had some experience moderating an image board.

-No more Global Mods: What I mean by this is that the current system of Global Moderation does not work anymore. Every time the board gets a new mod who doesn't understand anything about the board he is moderating, it creates a clusterfuck of problems. Instead we should be looking at board specific mods. That means each board will have his own moderators, and they are in charge of that board and that board only. I would recommend we have at least 3-4 mods per board for different hours of the day and such.

-Transparency is a must: For these new mods to be good, we must make them be transparent with the userbase 100% of the time. I would recommend giving each mod a unquie ID that allows the users to track exactly what they have said and who they have banned and for what reasons given. That way we can see if a mod has abused his power, and if he has, the userbase will decide if he to be removed or not.

-More interaction from you: I cannot begin to stress this enough: You need to interact with us more. You bought this site from m00t, and now you know that we need a leader, an admin we can trust will make 4chan great again. You must be that person Hiro

I would like to add that /tg/ and /qst/ came to an agreement sometime back. Either make /qst/ a general roleplaying board or make quests /tg/, and every board, related again. Put an option that only bumps them to page 2 so the front page doesn't fill up with newly-bumped quests.

Someone on /a/ had an excellent idea as well: Make threads only age if 'age' is put into the options field. Mark posts that bump threads.

For comparison, there are apparently 783,137 words in the King James Bible. That's 3132 pages, only 396 pages longer than the conservative values listed for 50mb of IRC text logs. Realistically it would be a lot higher, as removing half the data allowance just for things like usernames, IP timeouts, automated messages and whitespace is probably on the high end.

That's still a lot text, which is reasonable for the accumulation of discussion over a lengthy period of time, which is consistent with all the other leaked IRC logs over the years.
If you think anons can be that easily convinced that they were fake, you really undersestimate the shrewdness of anons. It isn't like started using the Internet yesterday and haven't seen these sorts of things before.

Pic related is an image I mocked together of a hypothetical ban on /a/, but it could any board.
The proposition is not to change any rules but to make the process more transparent. Moderation transparency is something anons have been asking for years, yet in that time m00t either ignored such feedback or took active steps to further obfuscate the activities of moderation from those of the anons who make this site possible.
The general idea is to have an automated system of tagging posts with reports, and implementing a checkbox system into the report page, which forces anons to select which global and/or board rules the post in question infringes. One the report is submitted, the post becomes tagged, which changes with ongoing reports until it is either banned or a mod removes the invalid reports.
If it is kept impersonal and transparent, like pic related, there will not be the issue of the occasional "MODS=GODS" bullshit, which public bans entail, as it will be a regular part of the system and not something mods use to distract anons. Moderators should also be provided a four digit number which is referenced on the ban. Pic related provides an example of such a thing.

The last traces of evidence can probably be found at the 8ch board for, or the archive of, the 4chan board in question. Which board? Even if you don't want to believe me on where the logs broke - not that it should fucking matters because if they're fake it hardly matters where it was that I was first fooled - you can read the logs yourself and scan them for _any_ inconsistency with the way that 4chan has been visibly run from the outside.

For my own part, the logs seemed plausible because it seems difficult to fabricate several years of logs without a single verified inconsistency. They corroborated with the leaks previously revealed by Australian moot, and when I scanned for mentions of my "home board" its workers were dissected in sordid detail. The lurker, then, must have been an avid user of my "home board", and I imagine that all the autists from other boards also did the same thing for their boards.

I would find it impossible for someone who did not regularly browse my home board to fabricate logs with the level of detail required. If it was a hoax the hoax-crafter must have been meticulous, thorough, familiar with all the leaks up until that point, announcements on every board, happenings of every board, obsessively stalked mods on IRC, and been a decent programmer to boot simply to fabricate logs that parse.

When GG happened I saw an astounding amount of stupid claims about 4chan flying around, but I very rarely saw anyone actually claim to have a firsthand source (other than tiny excerpts of IRC logs that did not even purport to identify the leaker).
