Additionally, the recent slowdown in posting has exacerbated another longstanding issue with /d/: for years now /d/ has had issues with a very persistent spammer who spams futa content. While other users create singular threads for fetishes, this poster creates up to fifty futa threads at a time. Each thread receives one image every one or two days (most of which have nothing to do with the OP) to bump it to the top of the catalog, which continues until the thread reaches the image limit.

This pushes content from other users off the board. Not only that, but legitimate futa posters dislike this behavior because it slows all the threads to a crawl; many of these users refuse to post in these threads or create new ones because the spammer will drive things off topic.

The moderation deletes duplicate threads of any other fetish, but leaves futa threads alone. This has caused a lot of hostility between futa posters and all others on the board. By ceasing this favoritism and pushing futa threads to consolidate, the entire board would be freed up for more content, and futa threads would be healthier and livelier.

Ironically most of the good /d/ threads moved over to /aco/. The robot girl threads are better on /aco/ than they were on /d/ because there's less futa spam. The Xeno and Shortstack threads are there too. And all three have both Japanese and Western art being posted.

Over on /d/ the few major fetishes (ie, the ones that have regular recurring generals) that held on are now back to posting Western art as normal. Just like every other time he did it, the mod throws a tantrum and enforces the unpopular "No Western" rule for a week, then stops once he gets tired of deleting things.

Funny thing is, futa threads never stopped posting western art. There's several futa threads with western OPs in the catalog right now. We've seen a few times though that the mods on both boards don't actually apply rules to Futa threads.

Jesus, this meme again. You are saying this on a website where /aco/ literally exists. Deviantart would have been shut down long ago of fanart was actionable. The entire "copyright concerns" myth has been disproven time and time again.

In fact, nowadays we're more likely to get DMCA notices for Japanese art. The Giantess thread on /d/ has several Japanese artists monitoring it to send out takedown notices when things are posted.

This is another meme that needs to die. It was moot that made the comment you're thinking about, and his quote has been taken grossly out of context. What he said was that futa was to be posted on /d/, not that /d/ was only for futa. In that very same post he said that Futa was the most complained about thing on 4chan.

Moot also made comments to the effect that he didn't think NSFW boards could sustain communities, yet /d/ managed just fine without the mod butting in to fuck things up.

You're ignoring the issue. People aren't complaining about futa existing. Our board is filled with overly-specific futa threads like "Futa in glasses," "Futa in a room," "futa just standing there," "politically incorrect futa," etc. Each of these threads gets bumped with one image at the same time every day, or right before they fall of the board. Nobody actually posts in them legitimately- in fact, many futa fans here have said they don't post in those threads because they're afraid the spammer will take them over.

Maybe make it so a thread can only be bumped by one person so many times in a row, like once or twice. and they can only bump a thread so many times a day or something? Would the futaspammer go through the trouble of changing IPs every 20 posts hen he's in a constant rotation of bumping 40-60 threads at a time?

Personally I think software changes like that are overkill when there's a very simple solution - apply the "No spamming/flooding" rule to futa threads like they do other fetishes. I've seen threads with 20+ images deleted for being too similar to other fetishes, but futa threads don't get deleted even if they only post one image.

Enforcing every post to be a picture would just kill a ton of un-targeted threads unintentionally, as it would just lead to reposting the same pictures over and over while discussing.

The minimum pictures:posts ratio is a much better idea, but I have no idea if it could actually be done in the site's code (and I don't trust the mods farther than I can throw 'em).

As much as I enjoy /d/iscussions and such, I wouldn't mind more images in those threads.

My issue with the /d/ is the fact that there are fetishes that are banned from /d/, I always believe that /d/ should be a place where anything non-vanilla is on the menu. I may be bias because there's very little I dislike in terms of fetishes.

I know people are going to scream about furry,gore,scat,loli/shota and bestiality being allowed on /d/ but people will generally accept it, they'll accept that there's things that they dislike being posted and just post what they like. Because the mod stopped deleting western art after his tantrum. The problem is that if you look solely at numbers, yes, activity has increased from the death spiral it was in, but if you actually visit the board, it becomes apparent type of activity is completely different and actively worse than the community the mod tried so hard to kick out. Shitposting and spam are rampant, and there's a total lack of diversity in thread topics. A lot of that activity you're seeing in thread creation is due to a large amount of being created with a single image in the OP to bump threads out of the catalog. For s couple weeks /d/ would regularly have about 100 threads in the catalog due to the massive amount of spam that was deleted.

An arbitrary change was made against the will of the users that violated the accepted unwritten rules of the board. /d/'s mod has consistently shown a lack of regard or respect for the users of the board, and does not deserve our respect in kind.

You need to actually use and understand boards before you try to make value judgements about their operations.

Those sites weren't designed to have conversations, 4chan was. "Dump board" is a nonsense term and always was from day one, no matter what moot said. This. While there's always been a group of people who've had a problem with the volume of it, it hasn't been as bad as it is now for years. I enjoy futa and even I'm sick of how much space it takes up and how many threads are necrobumped by one single dude contributing the lowest-quality stuff.

Order the catalog by Creation Date; most of the threads are futa, and in the majority of those threads out of the last 100 posts there'll be a maximum of 20 posts that aren't from the futaspammer. There are threads from November and December that have survived exclusively because one guy bumps with a pic that often isn't even on-topic every time the thread hits page 10. It wastes board space and causes better threads to die pre-maturely.
