All hobby discussion is pointless. If you are a hobbyist who is both serious about the hobby and smart enough to think about things for yourself, then theres absolutely no point in discussions. All that is left to talk about is meta and blogging.

You do creative things with your fellow hobbyists and learn about their tastes. 4chan is also about exploring other things at your own pace too.

It doesn't have to be that way on 4chan. Moderators need to be more involved in what they moderate. Delete boards they aren't legitimately interested in. Stop biting off more than they can actually chew chew.
