I'm not knowledgeable enough to really know which must be the best, but to share what little context I can, sankaku seems to simply host way more than gelbooru as far as I see. A bunch of the images I feed iqdb have both gelbooru and sankaku sources, but the gelbooru one is deleted under some bullshit not allowing the subject matter reason, including behavior like deleting an artist's pic since they're western, but the artist has many other pics under their artist tag. If I had to choose either, I'd go sankaku.

However danbooru used to have a user-made script for it that allowed the viewing of paywalled tags I think, without paying. I believe they recently patched it, as well as patching a method to view deleted/ expunged tags. This happened within the last month or two at most, and I never learned what the deal really was, but danbooru seemed beloved by the really hardcore weebs. Don't know if it still is. Even if it was though it might be like sadpanda where instead of giving context they merely affirm that you don't have the context...

Should have been more specific. I already have a script that does Danbooru rips(Sankaku API doesn't actually exist?).
