Stephen King's It is a very weird case. Everyone seems to think that the original miniseries was some sort of masterpiece of horror that gave everyone PTSD because muh scary clown. In reality, I don't think most people have actually watched it, because if they did, they'd realize how much it really wasn't. I don't recall seeing that, I just recall being scared starting it then seeing Tim Curry ham it up which ruined all the tension, and then a big goofy looking stop motion spider at the end. I was fucking scared when I saw the cover of the movie on the shelf at Blockbuster as a kid, I don't think I've ever been as disappointed in a horror movie as I was when I finally watched it.

When I was with my ex girlfriend, we used to go the movies all the time. Probably once a week. Theatres were nearly empty probably 80% of the time. Only certain movies drew real crowds and only on Friday/Saturday night. We saw Deadpool it's second opening week and it was packed full. Same with Don't Breathe, which was an okay flick. She forced me to a couple gay movies like Pitch Perfect 2 and some Tina Fey movie, both of those were empty. Trainwreck was packed, go figure. I made her see The Gallows on its opening week, we were literally the only people there, I got a handjob in back row during the showing.

All of those movies were fucking terrible except Don't Breathe which was pretty average. It certainly isn't worth the price of admission + concessions. Sometimes that shit would cost upward of 40 bucks. Big reason we broke up, I got tired of spending money on her. Fun relationship while it lasted though.

I have pirated more movies than I've purchased movie tickets. I only watch movies at the theater if I am in company of people. I have hardly watched anything recent and I gave up completely on capeshit after the clusterfuck that was iron man 3.
