Lose the hatchet. Carry at least three bic lighters. You should probably use a rifle instead of a shotgun; a .270 would be a good choice for utility. Carry hearing protection. Life Straw is weak. There are better options for just as cheap. You need a tarp or space blanket. Maybe think about some more cord and heavy thread. Get a small, plastic container with dividers and pack in that thing a sewing kit, a fishing kit, and whatever other little things you'd like to have. If you want to carry a second bag in case that's possible, you should pack a good wool blanket.

OP, just do some research from legit sites. Since you are bugging out, plan multiple routes out to your rally point and alt-rally point. Actually go to those places and live out of your bag for a few days. Don't just buy shit that you don't even know why you need it, put it in a tacticool bag and throw it in a closet. Waterproof your gear and avoid anything that requires batteries or electric source, as batteries are heavy and run out and you don't know if the power will be off from there on out.

You're better off if you pack a normal hunting knife with smooth edges and a BW Swiss army knife. That multitool won't help you much, you're better off with a stronger combined plier. Sfork? Are you going to the gay survivalists' annual meeting? A field cutlery kit is your friend. Lifestraw is useless, pack a box of water disinfectant pastilles. Bin the spray can, you can buy repellent gel as well. No bandages? Most importantly: pack a bar soap, it can literally save your life.

Both. In wildfire season you could be caught outside your home and not be able to get back to it, likewise the roads could be blocked to your town and food/gas/etc won't be able to get in.

As far as mobile I keep a backpack in the car with N95 respirators, 1gal water + 500mL in a canteen, iodine tablets, first aid kit, a couple pounds of rice, soldier fuel bars and mres, lighter, matches, flashlight, block and tackle w/ chain and 100ft rope, 50ft paracord and 100ft twine, duct tape, some canvas and thermal blankets and a fixed blade knife.

rife is much better for inaawoods or anything at range. shotgun is best for close quarters because of the spread pattern (buckshot is more or less multiple little bullets inside of a big bullet), but ineffective at range. a rifle also holds more rounds and is way easier to reload
>>
Buy a tarp. Buy a cast iron pot. Go online and learn how to to make a penny stove. Lose the machete. Get a bottle of rubbing alcohol and bandages. Get some antibiotics.
>>
>>138841222
1. Shotgun shells are really big and bulky.

They'll bide their time, slowly checking out the situation and determining the weakest link. They'll probably wait for rain or wind to help hide the noise. Picking off the easiest guy first (probably you) when the rest of your boys are having their homoerotic 'stay warm' party.

>Why is a rifle preferable to shotgun?
Shotguns are good for birds, rabbits, fighting in doors or maybe if your find yourself in a jungle. You can also use slugs to kill what ever big game you want.

A rifle is just more versatile, if you live in the US and don't have a semi automatic you are just doing it wrong. You could also get pic related if you want to be able to hunt everything with one rifle, pretty crappy against armed people though.

But there are adapters for shotguns so that you can literally shoot all the ammo you find. But then you get a really short barrel so its not a substitute for a real gun, still nice though since you can use a lot of scavenged ammo. I would probably get an AR and maybe a short side by side shotgun for use against rodents and ducks. There are also revolvers that can fire small shotgun shells, they might be good for rodent removal.

TL;DR
Semi auto is a lot more versatile. Chances are that shotguns and 12g is the most common type of weapon you will be able to find/scavenge to. Hacksaws aren't that uncommon either...

Yeah, that might be something to throw in your car or boat (its good to have flare gun either way) but they are pretty heavy and the barrel length is short as fuck so you don't get much out of them unless you're shooting 20g, 12g or pistol rounds. If you listen to these no-guns tards you deserve what's coming.

If you're going out quick:
Bring a medkit with iodine and disinfectant, suture kit, bandages. Bring parachute cord.
If you bring a fire-arm you will NEED a cleaning kit for it. Do not bring a fire-arm that you don't know how to repair and maintain. Bring as much ammunition as you can carry in a deep pocket. Bring a strong, preferably full-tang knife that you could reasonably use to skin and gut with.

Packing heavy?
Bring a sturdy folding shovel, bring your ammunition and firearm, bring a compass, bring a lighter and a flint starter, bring your medkit and ample iodine and disinfectant. Bring a hatchet. Bring two tarps and ample parachute cord. If you have MREs take 3 for each person in your group. These MREs are to be used as rations, use them as a last resort if you cannot find food.
If you have the know-how, bring seeds for fruits and vegetables. It is harder to come by vitamin C in some climates and scurvy is a realistic danger, keep that in mind when planning your bags.

Your enemies in the wilderness are hunger, shelter, and decay. It is extremely easy to set up a lasting shelter and provide yourself.

If you can use your vehicle use the extra storage space for water, soap, toothpaste, and toilet paper. Some "survivalists" will scoff at these, and those same survivalists will be the ones you have over a barrel for such luxuries when time becomes dire.

I forgot, a shotgun is the best fire-arm you can have in any situation. It's extremely versatile and efficient. Go look up the mortality rate on buckshot.

Despite what video games and movies will have you believe, 00 buckshot has a maximum effective range of just over 100 yards. That's more than enough for anything you will need. Foster type rifled slugs are the best for hunting.

For a handgun stick with revolvers, they're easier to service and less prone to issue. The more moving parts something has the more maintenance it requires. I would recommend .38 or .44, especially if you're new to firearms, but it's down to personal preference.

Regardless of what you take always take something to maintain it with, because if you don't then you just brought a heavy piece of useless shit to be discarded after a week.

Both. Stocking extra food is cheap to do and is more likely to come in handy. Bugging out is a last ditch option usually, but if you have to you better be prepared or you are fucked.
Don't forget to scan all your important documents and put them on an encrypted flash drive. Proving who you are, where you lived, what you owned to the gov and insurance company is critical. Keep it offsite if possible, perhaps at a relative's house.
It's fun to think about making a go-bag for the end of the world, but it's much more likely that you will experience an extended power outage or be displaced by a some type of disaster. Spend your money accordingly.

Add the following items:

>2 large trash bags for wet storage
>tarp
>maps of your area

>rainfly for the hammock

The dude is right. Killing people and taking their stash will be the only way to survive for a while. I don't care who I will have to kill to provide for my family in that scenario. All things considered I would probably hunt white people as they will be loaded with the most loot. Would probably make peace with nigs to help with the hunt as they would be hungry and looking for a leader who could provide.

>Stocking extra food is cheap to do and is more likely to come in handy.
Stocking food literally cost nothing at all. You should be buying beans, rice, pasta etc in bulk anyway so just buy more then you need that week and rotate it. If you regularly eat something that last around 1 year (basically all dried goods) just stock up on that, you are going to eat it anyway and prices goes up all the time because of inflation so you might as well stock up. If you eat canned goods you just get something like this, add the cans to the top and eat the cans from the bottom.

Don't be that retard who fills is pantry with MRE's, that is overpriced shit and unless you play on moving around with it its just a waste of money

its best to stay at home and fortify there. be in contact with your neighbors and see what their stance is in case real emergencies or the extreme happens and plan from there with others. that way when something big happens, you have a small group to rely on and a larger stockpile of everything. invest in a generator

So no one else seems to do this but I have everything all set to go for a river based escape plan. The wife and I have pretty typical SHTF bags packed and ready and a couple of nice big ol' expedition kayaks we can have in the river in 10 min. We've practiced our drill a few times and we were comfy as fuck and made it to another city and a huge unpopulated swath of forest on separate occasions. My GUESS is that urban strategies would rely on just networking--knowing all your neighbors, and being able to button-up your neighborhood for several days like the whites did in Gretna, La after Katrina:

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-gretna_wittsep04-story.html

>Tribal instincts took overTo many African-Americans and other Gretna critics, the decision by officials of the mostly white suburb to bar entry to the mostly black victims of Katrina amounted to an overtly racist—and blatantly unconstitutional—blockade of the only escape route they could find.

If you're in a survival situation and you contract dysentery it can and will fucking kill you. These aren't Brita filters you faggot. They are anti-microbial filters to prevent shit like dysentery.
You have 4 options when it comes to water innawoods:
#1. Drink it straight. You can minimize your risk by only drinking moving water. (drinking from a lake would be the most retarded thing you could possibly do).
#2. Boil it. (but that takes up a lot of fuel)
#3. Treat it chemically. But then you're drinking the treatment chemicals along with it. And you also have to maintain a supply of chemicals.
#4. Filter it with an anti-microbial filter. And in this department Lifestraw comes up short performance wise versus the Sawyer Mini.

My language doesn't make any distinction between hatchet and axe, both are just axe and then add things like hand, timber, felling do specify what axe it is. But you are right, it is a hatchet. I rather have the axe though, its goes outside the back anyway so the length doesn't matter that much, the extra leverage is worth i.
>anon...and I highly recommend it (and the axe and splitting maul) to anyone on the market.
yeah, its good and light weight. People shit on them because its not wood and it doesn't have en eye. But it has a grove so if you brake it (you wont, unless you are an idiot) you can just do something like this. Find a carcass and wrap some wet sinew around it and it should tighten up real nice. Letting it soak in birch sap should work and tighten it up the same way antifreeze does to since it also contains sugar. You can get gallons of it from one tree in the spring.

Sure, I think a dual band Yaesu 50W mobile is better but for someone only using a radio in a SHTF or BOB situation, a BaoFeng is a cheap alternative that will help more than hurt.

I haven't used that unit yet.

How hard would it be to have solar powered repeaters spread around?
Would it be viable?

Oh well I'm going to die if I stay then. I live in the middle of an area full of nogs and spics and I have visible food plants. I'd need to travel to the closest white enclave and hole up with them.

>>138862456
See this is what I was thinking, that it would be better to barricade myself in, but now I'm worried about the horde.
>>
>>138871349
Expensive but feasible. You'd have to have a few car batteries in parallel for dark hours for good repeaters. You could wire two BaoFengs together and hook them to solar chargers for a cheap and dirty repeater (Audio out to vox in, set transmitter to VOX mode, basically) if you really needed to.

So buy one then, you need no licence for <1890 guns that doesn't take cartridges. You can even get a ball and cap revolver with several shots.

Walking around with a rifle or shotgun in an area that still has cops or military in it will get you fucked up. These retards watch too much TV and too many movies. If you are mobile or shut in you must be as invisible to others as is possible or someone will take your shit away.
>>
>>138827181
Hope to stay, expect to leave. It all depends on what your looking at.

>>138827411
No tape or wire either, and you can do away with the shit solar charger and get an emergency radio with crank, solar panels, and charging port on Amazon. Also, the compass with no maps is lolerific.

Ya that fiskars hatchet is good, I had one for years, sharpened well and lasted forever for a relatively cheap piece. Would recommend since plastic is lighter than wood anyway. Furthermore orange coloring is easier to see if you drop it in grass or leaves.

>>
>>138834602
Can't you just wear your hat and long shirt though? That's space I can use for other shit
>>
>>138877913
You can replace the plastic with wood, later, when there is less shit in your pack making the added weight negligible
>>
Retarded gerber axe made of mystery steel with retarded hole in it reducing it's weight massively defeating the purpose of a wood chopping axe.
And a retarded little cuck hatchet with a handle so short you're losing leverage on the end of a long handle also defeating the purpose of an axe.
>>

>You can replace the plastic with wood

what are you talking about?
shotguns are great vs people without armor.
you aint going to be defending yourself from people with military grade ceramic plate.
a 12ga buckshot on center mass and they guy is dead in before EMS can arrive 90% of the time
what i hate is not the shotgun but the meme short shotgun without even a folding stock.
everything else you said is acurate.
i would add that his backpack seems to be very small.
get yourself a 50Liter backpack minimum. his one looks around 30 at max.
