I grew up in south Texas - my dad's Spaniard with Texas native and my mom's north-western European.

It's always mexicans doing hard labor ("hispanics" you say) and generally the white folk have business-owning jobs, but the dynamic is changing due partially to so-called "white flight", immigration, and the fact that brown people are out-breeding white folk.

Add onto that the idea pop culture phenomenon like rap music, the Narcos TV show, etc, and you have brown ghetto shit becoming "cool" and attracting others to it. My relatives are anglo all the way down with a bit of Indian mixed in. West Texas(midland odessa) is largely a white working culture with hispanics filling in lower tier roles and blacks not getting jobs until the other one is fired( which is frequently unless they are an uncle tom).
The working culture all over texas though is white men in every top tier role, I'm shocked you havent seen that honestly. Most mexicans dont even end up in middle management.
